You realize that twist happened like five episodes ago, and that's pretty much the only major twist that's happened since then - unless you count telling Thea, which wasn't really a twist since they telegraphed it long before it happened? That's like saying "This episode is going to have the biggest romantic Olicity moment since we found out Oliver first saw Felicity before he came back to Starling." It's undeniably true because that other romantic moment just happened. Any romantic moment would count, because it's the first one to happen since the last romantic moment. It wins by default.
Now if he said it was the most surprising twist this season INCLUDING when we stabbed Oliver through the chest and kicked him off a mountain, that would imply something more interesting. As it is, he's just stated a fact in a dramatic way.
This may be nitpicking - actually, it's probably nitpicking - but honestly, the way he phrased it made me face palm hard.
Possible twists: *Thea shows up in Nanda Parbat and kills Malcolm herself (does he get Lazarus Pitted?) *Thea shows up in Nanda Parbat, strolls into the place and reveals that she's met Ra's before *Some combination of the above *Oliver does something stupid, anything is possible at this point *Zombie Tommy strolls in and unleashes hell
I hope they kill off Merlyn (which I'm sure this will get a lot of downvotes for), because damn, Arrow's thirst to make Merlyn relevant is just making Oliver look ridiculously stupid.
I hope Oliver's reasoning is justified. But after watching this, I really doubt it.
i somehow think we r gonna see the downfall of green hood to vigilante from season 1.oliver making rash decisions here and there. god knows what malcolm is upto. and i heard in an aftershow that "we might see sara coming back from lazarus pitt"
Probably. All I know for sure is that this Thea-Merlyn plot is exactly the show-killer I thought it would be when she left with him in last season's finale.
I was a bit upset that Diggle only enters the field in stupid missions... But the fact that he has Oliver's back (because he doesn't want to lose him this time) makes up for all that. Diggle will do anything to save Oliver and I think that's what makes him a great confidante to Oliver.
There's gotta be some plan or intention. I'm betting it's to stop Merlyn from using that video of Thea in attempt to free himself. Or to do that whole if we can't save Merlyn i'll sacrifice myself so he won't shaft Thea bit. There has to be a good reason. Especially considering the next episode is called The Offer. Honestly it's probably to just keep Ra's away from Starling and Thea.
It's still kind of stupid because Oliver is risking his life. If he dies for Thea, then she'll feel 100000x worse. Logic isn't Oliver's strong suit imo
Ugh, all of this removal of Thea's agency is so gross this season. I really hope that's not what Oliver goes there for, although it's incredibly stupid so that's a possibility. I hope if he does that, Thea shows up in Nanda Parbat and kills Malcolm anyway.
I haven't seen Laurel be all that competent. All she has done so far is fight random thugs. On average, most of those goons likely have less training than she does. It's really not that impressive.
As for the glut of characters, they don't fitting them all in during every episode. They only spotlight a few at a time so I haven't found it disruptive at all.
Plot and character motivation are my only major concerns this season.
OLIVER QUEEN WHAT IN THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm getting really tired of this dance. Oliver makes a dumb decision regarding Malcolm. People get angry and yell at him. Oliver is hurt. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! "Surprise is our only advantage" oops got too cocky there Oliver lol
If I hope it is Tommy. Honestly got a feeling that this was all a set up and that Oliver and Malcolm need something lut of Nanda Parbat. Maybe take Nyssa hostage or stuff. Truth to be told this whole set up. smells shitty.
Yeah I noticed he said "since they stabbed Oliver and kicked him off a cliff" and was confused about that too, since I don't think the episodes since then have even had cliffhangers. I think Stephen Amell says in his interview that it's one of the best cliffhangers ever, though. So maybe it was just a poor choice of wording in this preview
I agree. The Tommy flashbacks were great but it made me miss him a lot. Plus I wish he would've stayed alive long enough to get to know Diggle and Felicity, realize that Sara was still alive and find out about Thea being his actual (half) sister.
I hope it is zombie Sara. I am not a Tommy fan. I loved him after he died lol. He annoyed me with Laurel in season 1. Anyway whoever it is coming out of the pit is going to be twisted in the head. Who ever it is Laurel will have one more thing to be sad about. If it is Sara Quentin will have some amazing scenes.
I'm not even going to pretend to understand why would Oliver rescue Malcolm... It's beyond stupid, but this dynamic you describe it's annoying and it got old really quickly.
I miss people trusting Oliver and I miss him being smart about things and most of all I freaking miss killer Oliver from season 1. Just put an arrow on Malcolm, for the love of God.
The second half of the season is a big miss for me and surprisingly it's not because of the Olicity downfall or BC storyline. This 'let's be friends with Malcolm' nonsense is really rubbing me the wrong way.
I don't miss killer Oliver. I do however miss the smart rational hero and leader who used to protect innocent people and not mass murderers. Remember when the team used to listen to each other and work together and not fight every episode while everyone is making decisions on their own? Also remember when Dig was relevant to the story? Yeah me neither.
Anything is better than this current Oliver. I'm not hating on him, I love Oliver, he's my favorite character and that's why is so painful to watch him being Malcolm Merlyn's puppet. The team's dynamic is all over the place, I get that he was gone, but suddenly it seems like no one respects him. They're not Team Arrow anymore, they're The Shady Bunch.
I'm not hating on Oliver. I'm hating on the writers for what they're doing to my hero :(
I get that they took ownership of the crusade and that Oliver doesn't get to make decisions solely anymore but that doesn't mean "let's all yell at him and be mean to him. How dare he say anything after he dared to die for two weeks!".
Doubt that they`ll use the Lazarus Pit on Arrow. I could see them use it on The Flash though. Since Arrow is trying hard to stay out of the powers thing
it would be a shocking twist though, I really hope you're right though. Because out of the entire season (wich I do consider a bit messy) Barrowman was saving it
I really don't understand this storyline decision. I'm with Thea, Laurel and Felicity on this one, why the hell would he rescue Malcom? Ra's kills him, say he killed Sarah, everybody wins. Seriously, I'll need a well elaborated explanation for this
So far Oliver's choices have made some slight sense to me, but this is a new low. I really need a well elaborated justification or I'm going to be incredibly pissed by the sloppy writting here
No way. I am frustrated with the current story line and I want Oliver to revert back to who we know again but I don't want Malcolm to die. I want him to suffer and be locked up or given up to LoA by the end of the season. Then I want him back again next season with more twisted but better understandable plot. My simple mind still don't understand why Malcolm did the things the way he did.
I know. I would hate to loose him, but just got that feeling that this story will lead to his starling exit. I assume they would introduce new Police thingy nezt season DC universe connected.
I'm frustrated with the entire season right now, the storyline is convoluted, I grew from just hating Olicity to hating Felicity (sorry but she's become some kind of a beach IMO), the plots make no sense and the show feels to have lost its direction. Merlyn was saving it for me purely through his presence, yes, bland-ish fanboy thoughts kept me entertained while the show went down the drain.
I agree, I want him locked up and suddenly reappearing in 4*02 with a villainous scheme or part of a villainous group
Completely agree with you. But I feel like anything they come up with as a reasoning for rescuing Malcolm will still be ridiculous. There's nothing they can tell me at this point that will make me go "Oh yeah, that makes SO much sense, go rescue him!" Honestly, Thea is a big girl. If she has no qualms about turning him in to the League, then Oliver should just back off and agree with it, especially when literally EVERYONE in Team Arrow agrees that saving Malcolm is crazy. And you know it's bad when even Laurel is making more sense than Oliver.
I'm missing the original Team Arrow of Oliver/Diggle/Felicity. Nothing else seems as much fun.
Every time someone asks Marc Guggenheim for them back, he says the show has to move on. I disagree, I could accept Laurel as the new Black Canary, or Ray and his suit, or even the ridiculous plot of Oliver believing he has to join up with Malcolm to defeat Ras, if I could just get some good O/D/F scenes again.
The whole season is convoluted. From season 2 finale when Thea left with Malcolm till now, the twisted plot of Sara's death, Oliver's decisions whenever Malcolm is around, Laurel becoming BC this soon yet we are not shown her training more to be better, badly done Olicity angst more than that badly done Ray Palmer. Everything is convoluted.
I love Felicity. She speaks the words I want to say to Oliver about Malcolm. I want to punch Oliver every time Malcolm is on screen. So if Malcolm leaving will help me love my hero back I want him gone. Sorry. I think depends on whose fans we are we will enjoy their scenes how much they not make sense.
I hope from ep. 15 onwards the show gets some new life.
Why don't we send him to Sleepy Hollow? If they can put headless horseman in chains then they can definitely hold Malcolm. We just have to keep Katrina away from him.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Literally everything Oliver does this season annoys me...
ReplyDeletethe question still remains why Oliver is going to save Malcolm......
ReplyDeleteYou realize that twist happened like five episodes ago, and that's pretty much the only major twist that's happened since then - unless you count telling Thea, which wasn't really a twist since they telegraphed it long before it happened? Pray the gods that the twist is Tommy being alive
ReplyDeleteHe must be worried that Malcolm will show Ra's the video of Thea killing Sara to save himself or something. Otherwise I've got nothing.
ReplyDeletePray that the twist is either Malcolm is Oliver's father too or Sara is actually alive via the Lazarus Pit.
ReplyDeletePossible twists:
ReplyDelete*Thea shows up in Nanda Parbat and kills Malcolm herself (does he get Lazarus Pitted?)
*Thea shows up in Nanda Parbat, strolls into the place and reveals that she's met Ra's before
*Some combination of the above
*Oliver does something stupid, anything is possible at this point
*Zombie Tommy strolls in and unleashes hell

ReplyDeleteI hope Oliver's reasoning is justified. But after watching this, I really doubt it.
I have been hoping for this twist all season. I wish so badly it would happen, but I don't think it'll happen.
ReplyDeletelet dead people stay dead.....
ReplyDeleteZombie Tommy. I so want that; gashes and guts hanging out.
ReplyDeletei somehow think we r gonna see the downfall of green hood to vigilante from season 1.oliver making rash decisions here and there. god knows what malcolm is upto. and i heard in an aftershow that "we might see sara coming back from lazarus pitt"
ReplyDeleteJust Oliver? I can't think of a single character that hasn't annoyed me this season.
ReplyDeleteI actually miss the days when I could just roll my eyes at Laurel and then enjoy the rest of the show.
I don't care about the twist. I just want this show to start making sense again.
ReplyDeleteOliver is the worst offender though, I'm very sad to say.
ReplyDeleteSadly, I think all the excitement about the 'twist' probably guarantees that's not about to happen anytime soon.
ReplyDeleteI miss season 1 Oliver, I want him back!
ReplyDeleteProbably. All I know for sure is that this Thea-Merlyn plot is exactly the show-killer I thought it would be when she left with him in last season's finale.
ReplyDeleteI do love that of all people Diggle has Oliver's back.
ReplyDeleteYeah what with Tommy's super effective fighting ability.
ReplyDeletehe will follow his leader his captain
ReplyDeleteI was a bit upset that Diggle only enters the field in stupid missions... But the fact that he has Oliver's back (because he doesn't want to lose him this time) makes up for all that. Diggle will do anything to save Oliver and I think that's what makes him a great confidante to Oliver.

Honestly it's probably to just keep Ra's away from Starling and Thea.
ReplyDeleteI think Oliver didn't want Thea to be the one responsible for Ra's killing Malcolm because she might hate herself later for it.
ReplyDeleteIt's still kind of stupid because Oliver is risking his life. If he dies for Thea, then she'll feel 100000x worse. Logic isn't Oliver's strong suit imo
ReplyDeleteWhy do I have the feeling there is a zombie Tommy or zombie Sara twist coming up?
ReplyDeleteHey, if he was Lazarus Pitted and has been undead in Nanda Parbat for a while, anything's possible!
ReplyDeleteUgh, all of this removal of Thea's agency is so gross this season. I really hope that's not what Oliver goes there for, although it's incredibly stupid so that's a possibility. I hope if he does that, Thea shows up in Nanda Parbat and kills Malcolm anyway.
ReplyDeleteI don't love it, but at least it makes some sense, which I can't say for Laurel's sudden rise to competent fighter.
ReplyDeleteTrying to fit all these comic book figures -- the Atom, Ra's, Black Canary, Dark Archer, proto-Speedy -- has been what's killing the show for me.
i m expecting sara come back from lazarus pitt
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen Laurel be all that competent. All she has done so far is fight random thugs. On average, most of those goons likely have less training than she does. It's really not that impressive.

OLIVER QUEEN WHAT IN THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeletei think he left his brain in that village after the dual with ra's
ReplyDeleteI'm just glad Oliver and Diggle are in this together. That's all I care about right now.
ReplyDeleteHoping for some good stuff!
ReplyDeletehttps://twitter.com/NatalieAbrams/status/570001631913349120
hmm very interesting tease.......I guess there is more than one twist?
ReplyDeleteThe dead can rest when we are not in an universe were there's a Lazarus Pit
ReplyDeleteWe are partners in this despair
ReplyDeleteI'm getting really tired of this dance. Oliver makes a dumb decision regarding Malcolm. People get angry and yell at him. Oliver is hurt. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!
ReplyDelete"Surprise is our only advantage" oops got too cocky there Oliver lol
I was thinking the same thing.
ReplyDeleteYeah the world makes sense again.
ReplyDeleteOliver: Kill me!
ReplyDeleteRa's: I can't. I'm your father.
Ah the good old days.
ReplyDeleteBecause he wants to save Thea's soul. smh
ReplyDeleteIf I hope it is Tommy.
ReplyDeleteHonestly got a feeling that this was all a set up and that Oliver and Malcolm need something lut of Nanda Parbat. Maybe take Nyssa hostage or stuff. Truth to be told this whole set up. smells shitty.

ReplyDeleteMe too
ReplyDeleteRa's offering Oliver to join the league won't be a surprise. What else can it be?
ReplyDeleteI'm not even going to pretend to understand why would Oliver rescue Malcolm... It's beyond stupid, but this dynamic you describe it's annoying and it got old really quickly.

Yeah me neither.
ReplyDeleteGot a feeling they want to write out Quentin this season. Maybe leave with Mama Smoak but maybe I just halucinate.
ReplyDeleteI just hope for a reasonable twist.
Anything is better than this current Oliver. I'm not hating on him, I love Oliver, he's my favorite character and that's why is so painful to watch him being Malcolm Merlyn's puppet.
ReplyDeleteThe team's dynamic is all over the place, I get that he was gone, but suddenly it seems like no one respects him. They're not Team Arrow anymore, they're The Shady Bunch.
Merlyn is SO going to die
ReplyDeleteMerlyn dies
ReplyDeletesomeones neck is getting snapped
ReplyDeleteI hate how everyone wants Merlyn dead :(
ReplyDeleteis it possible that they are going to make Oliver as big bad for the rest of the season?
ReplyDeleteBut who? Looking at Diggs wedding pics all the mains are there.
ReplyDeleteTomorrow is to far away! :-(
It must be tough but I wouldn't worry too much; they LOVE JB. They didn't make him regular to kill him in episode 15. He's not going anywhere.
ReplyDeleteI'm not hating on Oliver. I'm hating on the writers for what they're doing to my hero :(
ReplyDeleteI get that they took ownership of the crusade and that Oliver doesn't get to make decisions solely anymore but that doesn't mean "let's all yell at him and be mean to him. How dare he say anything after he dared to die for two weeks!".
I know you're not, don't worry! I'm in the same page, I think it's terrible what they're doing to him.
ReplyDeleteI want my baby back :( OLIVERRRRRRRR WHAT HAVE THEY DONE TO YOU????
ReplyDeleteMerlyn
ReplyDeleteDoubtful but wouldn't be surprised if Ra wanted to purify him by killing and bringing him back, Lazarus pit style. But who knows.
ReplyDeleteI think she says AlSaher.
ReplyDeleteah ok, thanks.
ReplyDeletemy gues Ra's is Felicits father ;-)
Doubt that they`ll use the Lazarus Pit on Arrow. I could see them use it on The Flash though. Since Arrow is trying hard to stay out of the powers thing
ReplyDeleteAnd I REALLY don't want Merlyn to die
Anytime :D
ReplyDeleteOr Oliver's hahahahahaha
it would be a shocking twist though, I really hope you're right though. Because out of the entire season (wich I do consider a bit messy) Barrowman was saving it
ReplyDeleteOr Roy's! Ra's is Roy Harper Sr. lol
ReplyDeleteFelicity Al SpecialSnowflake
ReplyDeleteAgree to disagree (not on the messy part). JB is a strong actor but Malcolm was so not my favourite part of this season.
ReplyDeleteI really don't understand this storyline decision. I'm with Thea, Laurel and Felicity on this one, why the hell would he rescue Malcom? Ra's kills him, say he killed Sarah, everybody wins.
ReplyDeleteSeriously, I'll need a well elaborated explanation for this
So far Oliver's choices have made some slight sense to me, but this is a new low. I really need a well elaborated justification or I'm going to be incredibly pissed by the sloppy writting here
ReplyDeleteI have a very important question. Is Malcolm still spying on the team?
ReplyDeleteNo way.
ReplyDeleteI hope not. He is the only parental figure on the show now that Moira is gone. I don't want to loose him. Malcolm does not count as he is a villain.
ReplyDeleteI know. I would hate to loose him, but just got that feeling that this story will lead to his starling exit.
ReplyDeleteI assume they would introduce new Police thingy nezt season DC universe connected.
Because he's an evil twisted selfish sob who only looks out for himself.
ReplyDeleteI'm frustrated with the entire season right now, the storyline is convoluted, I grew from just hating Olicity to hating Felicity (sorry but she's become some kind of a beach IMO), the plots make no sense and the show feels to have lost its direction.

Sorry, friend :/

Skiing!! Never done before. Enjoy!!
I know. But I don't want him to die. Let him be put in prison and he can come back in later seasons.
ReplyDelete"No prison can hold him"
ReplyDeleteWhy don't we send him to Sleepy Hollow? If they can put headless horseman in chains then they can definitely hold Malcolm. We just have to keep Katrina away from him.
ReplyDeleteSorry I can't Reply. I'm busy imagining him in purgatory (the non-island one).
ReplyDeleteLMAO... But we can get people in and out of purgatory too :D
ReplyDeleteYhe key was destroyed after Ichabod got Abbie back remember? Muahaha
ReplyDeleteOh! I forgot about that. Nah.. We can't send Malcolm there now.We need his brand of crazy once in a while.
ReplyDeleteI bet that ending is Thea killing Merlyn. It has to be. i cant see another big twist.
ReplyDelete
