    Oliver losing his killer instinct was what made him a hero. Putting him back in front of Slade with goal of regaining his killer instinct is the reverse of what he learned to be in season 2.

This is a disaster that someone would put their reaction to a promo in the comments sections of that promo. I don't even think I can go on when someone does something so incredibly bizarre. Please.


    Killer instinct is the instinct to kill and to react by instinct. So yes, it does mean trying to get Oliver back to the person who looked at killing as a option.

    It's based off of watching the show for 3 years and seeing a promo. You like to get frustrated at people for having an opinion on what's happening. Here's the deal, I'll stop commenting when I'm wrong.


    All the thing I complained about with this story arc...happened. Right down to, hey I don't want to see the team learn to grow with Oliver because then when he comes back they are just going to squabble over power. I signed up for an Alpha Ollie show, in the end Ollie needs to be in charge, so I don't need to see the fighting.


    If I were wrong about things, I'd be #&#$% thrilled. I'm usually not. The writers are telegraphing (and have been telegraphing) the war over killer/not killer strongly for 2 episodes and subtly all the way back to 3.09. The fact that we are even having that discussion means we've regressed Oliver's character back to pre-end of season 2, and here is Slade to blatantly revisit that decision. Maybe it's based on "nothing," maybe I'm pulling rabbits out of a hat. Or maybe, I'm watching the show and I'm all caught up on the themes they are ham-fistedly pushing, and I don't like where they are going.

    I never watched that. I like Many, seems like a cool guy. It's Slade that idc for, (not after analyzing.season2 once it was over). But right now he'd be a breath of fresh air. = /

    Reaching? No, that is you for making zero sense without watching the episode first. And now you're showing your cluelessness that Slade was NOT part of the plan for Ollie and Thea to be on the island; the reason Slade escaped himself is why Ollie wants to leave the island.


    But I suppose you thinking Slade escaping being part of the plan is you trying your hardest to reach....again.

    I'm sorry but you're confused. You keep attacking me for having an opinion about a storyline or episode based on a spoiler or promo. I'm telling you, I have those opinions and 95% of the time, what I think they are going to do, for good or for bad, is exactly what they do. Things I wished they wouldn't do (like split the team so there was angst when he came back); stories I think are crappy; characterization I think is off, etc. That's what they do.


    There is context. There is the context of having watched the show and having a decent understanding of what is going on. And if it ever changes that I'm wrong more than I'm right and I watch the episode and what I thought they were going to do isn't what they actually do, then I'll stop forming "ignorant" opinions based on educated assumptions. But until my "ignorance" is proven wrong, I'm going to keep thinking what I think when I think it. Because it is working pretty well for me so far.

    You and Graydon are both very confused. I've said nothing about Slade escaping being part of the plan or Oliver killing Slade. I am talking about the theme of Oliver's identity--not specific plot points. Oliver made a choice last season to not kill Slade, this choice defined him as a hero. It was the culmination of the S2 story arc. Now, here we are in S3 and we are revisiting a characterization that should already have passed, ie, awakening Oliver's "killer instinct." Oliver made that decision after Tommy's death and work towards it for 23 episodes. To go back and have the same discussion again, is extreme character regression (along the same lines as his working with Malcolm Merlyn). We've already done this story, and my comment is I REMEMBER them already telling this story. To redo it, down to fighting Slade again is frustratingly redundant in terms of Oliver's character progression.

Ollie, as I even said, could decide against killing Slade and Marc has already said this wouldn't even be the last time we see Slade again.
