I just know this episode is going to be awesome. More Thea/Oliver bonding and training together is perfect. My Queen siblings <3 And when they go visit Robert's grave. Oh boy, I'm going to be a wreck.
This is going to be awesome. Totally filler episode but enjoyable and entertaining as hell. I can't wait for it. Yes Thea things are so much better now that some of the secrets are out. If only Oliver would tell her about Sara too.
I in Canada too. Didn't get to watch it live. have to find an unofficial way to watch the episode.... I guess someone told them that the promo gave away
I have faith it will be, Shannon! From what Guggenheim has talked about the episode being a sort of love letter to the fans and dropping some cool Easter eggs and references along the way, I'am really hyped for it.
This will be a much needed break from all the angst. We will see Thea and Oliver bonding and visiting the father's grave. Slade might twirl his mustache a bit and Malcolm might ask Oliver to kill Slade. But in the end brother sister duo will triumph and put Slade's sorry ass back in jail. Malcolm will be kidnapped by LoA at the end of the episode. Flash back Oliver will have a sucky time but it won't bother us much. He will cross paths with Digg and Felicity, see Laurel, Thea and Tommy.
Damn I know the whole episode plot. Still it will be fun to watch. I will be surprised if Oliver tells Thea about Sara.
Usually, I'd be with you on this. But now it's come to..."I'll believe it when I see it.". Such a shame that it has come to that, but it has. Shrugs. C'est la vie.
"What phsycho put that in here?" "Me" hahahaha of course it's you who else lol I missed you two a lot. Plz stay like this, no more lying and choosing Malcolm and giving each other ultimatums. Tommmyyyy I like it when Slade calls Oliver kid :) "The Emerald Archer vs. Deathstroke" an Epilogue. Feat. Speedy. Lol This looks awesome (oh plz be awesome)
Nice bonding episode but I hope Ra's makes his impact felt soon because the lack of the big bad has made the season drag in my opinion. I get it, the season is about identity but the sense of foreboding to drive the narrative is a weak part of this for me.
Agree. I think TPTB are relying too much on comic book knowledge of Ra's al Ghul. I get that the name is supposed to strike fear into our hearts and that we're supposed to be scared of him because everyone says he's terrible and means business and Oliver and Malcolm are scared of him, but they haven't shown him being nefarious at all. They even made him running Oliver through and kicking him off a cliff justified in the context of the show. If I hadn't read interviews with the EPs, I'd think Malcolm or Waller were the big bads this year, not Ra's.
The season started with Sara's murder. The main aim of first 9 episodes was to find Sara's killer. Now Oliver is working with Sara's killer against a guy who wants to punish the culprit of the said crime.
If we take the name Ra's Al Ghul out of the show the whole thing makes no sense. Till now Ra's is the most reasonable villain on Arrow. All he asked was for Oliver to produce Sara's killer since he refused to give up Malcolm whom Nyssa thought was the killer of Sara. Of course they were hunting Malcolm for breaking their code but even that looks reasonable.
Valid point. I think with all superhero stories the hero fights the bad guy and they develop more and more each season. Slade was the guy that helped make Oliver a hero last season. I suppose that I expect someone bad to counter Olivers good and help him develop more towards becoming the Green Arrow. Without that the direction of the season feels off for me. Just my opinion...
It would be the most heavy thing that he has ever told Thea, and he knows what it'll do to her, just like I still think that it will destroy her when she knows... But on the other hand, I do hope he'll tell her eventually.
Last episode was SO much better than I expected, and her reaction to Oliver telling her was SO amazing! I just hope it only gets better from her on out. This honesty between them is just so great.
Funny thing is, how now that she knows, Malcolm's "spell" or whatever seems to be COMPLETELY broken instantly, and that made me laugh so hard, but also made me thank her a couple of times, for saying like: 'I will never forget the things you've done, or trust you again.' etc, take that Malcolm! xD
It's just weird that the producers so tough told how this would be the last Oliver vs Slade episode as it were, that Slade would have had a change of heart and all that, but... it doesn't really seem that way, so that kinda confuses me x'D
Just don't let either Oliver or Thea kill Slade, screw Malcolm with trying to undo entire season 2 with Oliver becoming a hero by NOT killing Slade.
In theory I think their idea's for the season seemed like they would be really good. In reality I have to be honest I didn't really care who killed Sara and drugging Thea to kill Sara didn't really work for me either. I would have much preferred that Thea had been so corrupted and brainwashed by Malcolm that she killed Sara because she felt that she was a serious threat to Thea and Malcolm. Malcolm for dishonoring the League and as his daughter she was a target also. The first 2 seasons felt tighter the way they were written than this season has been. And as someone who looked forward to Felicity's one-liners she is starting to bug me and I never thought I'd say that. Her character is so cold lately and some of what she says is OOC. At this point I'd rather see her with Ray. They are slowly ruining Olicity for me.
Exactly. What is Oliver fighting here? Yes he is trying to protect Thea. But the main criminal is Malcolm who is behind all the bad things that happened this season. And Oliver is not fighting him at all. It's all very contrived and the hero side of Arrow is really not shining through.
I wish they had given us some other good reason for the League hunting Oliver and Starling instead of protecting a mass murderer like Malcolm. Isn't that where all this mess started? I was bored by Sara's murder mystery by ep.04. Everything is made so complicated and messed up by the end of ep.09. I was left wondering what is Malcolm aiming for by sending Oliver to fight Ra's? Everyone knows Oliver is never going to win.
Then someone explained to me here that Malcolm was desperate and the whole scheme was an act of desperation so that he can sic Oliver against Ra's. The problem with that explanation is Malcolm never ever looked desperate. He had only Thea to interact and she was in the dark all the time. If Malcolm had someone else to talk to about his plans we might have gotten a more in depth idea about what the writers were aiming for here.
Olicity was never a priority for me. But I never hated that relationship. It's just there for me. In the grand scheme of things that relationship is not that badly handled. It just got rushed a bit. But I do agree. There needs to be a cooling period on that front for few episodes before it is revisited again after both Felicity and Oliver adjust their attitudes.
The only thing that bugs me about Felicity this season is her rushed romance with ray in ep.07. That was so bad. If only they were strictly friends from the beginning. Other wise I like the growth she had. She is not the cookie cutter, pep talking, comedy Felicity from season 2. She has grown in her professional and vigilante life. Yes her attitude has changed and she is now standing against Oliver. And she is not completely right in her view point even though i can see where she is coming from. They gave her a multi dimensional personality this year which was what I asked for. So I am happy. She will go back to her cheerful self once the path to finale will be set.
I agree, I don't see Ra's as a really bad guy. plus, he's an awesome character. I really hope he survives the season and returns occasionally (just like Slade).
I know that telling Thea about Sara is hard. But Thea is gushing every 5 mins we don't have any more secrets. It will blow up on Oliver's face if he does not address it sooner.
Loved loved loved the scene where oliver revealed himself to be Arrow to Thea and her reaction. I cried.. a little. That being said I was not completely sold on Thea's sharp U turn with Malcolm. I was expecting this magnitude of reaction after she heard about her role in Sara's death. I expected her to be angry and be distrustful of Malcolm but not to this extend. Only last episode she was cool talking about mass murder with him. This big reaction makes me worry about what her reaction will be when she knows the whole story.
Nah. They will never make Thea or Oliver kill Slade. First it's Slade. He is a cash cow waiting to be milked in coming seasons. Second it's Oliver the hero and his little sister. No way Oliver is going to kill Slade or even Ra's. And no way they are going to make Thea into a killer in Oliver's presence. This show is after all about a hero's journey not Malcolm Merlyn's journey.
A very good point, something I've been pondering myself recently. What if Ra's is one big misdirect. There's another character on the show that is certainly acting more like a villain and is long overdue for a serious asskicking. Amanda Waller.
Those Hong Kong flashbacks have to lead up to something, and since we are suppose to see Tatsu in full Katana mode, it makes more sense for her to go up against Waller for all the the misery she's wrought on Tatsu's love and famiy
Of course Tatsu having to fight Maseo if going up against Ra's would also make sense if you know a little about the character's history.
Well, yeah of course, and I agree that he should have told her. But hey, it's not surprising that he hasn't yet. The show still loves it's drama, and Oliver does still simple-mindedly right now believe that they really need Malcolm that badly. Best we can hope for is that it doesn't make her turn against Oliver. I mean seriously, this was the first real actual logical development this season in Thea's story, so I just hope they keep it that way.
I always thought she would only love him more if she found out that he was the Arrow, I just always worried they wouldn't do it that way and go for the dramatic twist... I did however understand in a way her U-turn. Oliver said that Malcolm knew about him, but Malcolm kept that all that time and kept saying that she simply couldn't trust Oliver, and thus, manipulating her int his poistion, more than she thinks. So yeah, I do worry that when she finds out the truth, she'll be so destroyed and pissed that she'll want to actually kill Malcolm... But at least it does make sense that it did answer a LOT of Thea's infinite questions about Oliver, and instead of him just lying to her and cancelling on her for selfish reasons, he was saving people, that that meant so much for her, was still great and finally believable to see.
Yeah, you are probably right, but that only proves more that Malcolm's training isn't goin to help that much, if his first real training thing is for Oliver to become a killer again, or whatever.
No what they said was Lazarus pit was not used to bring back Oliver after he fell off the cliff. Lazarus pit exists in this universe and Ra's definitely use this. There was a TV Line interview of MG about this.
TVLINE | Now, even though that is his goal, I can’t imagine that the TV showArrow can kill the Ra’s al Ghul character. I suspect larger forces at DC Comics wouldn’t want that to happen. The truth of the matter is that DC is our partner, and they’ve been a wonderful partner. They’ve never told us who has to die or who has to live — and I don’t anticipate that changing any time soon. What we do with Ra’s as far as whether or not he lives or dies will be based solely on a creative decision that we make for the good of the show, and has nothing to do with the greater forces at DC.
TVLINE | Plus, with someone like Ra’s, “dies” probably always comes with quotation marks. Certainly given the Lazarus Pit and what’s happened in the comic books and what not….
Agreed. What is the point of Hong Kong flashbacks? It has to tie up with current story line sometime. Even though Waller is full on villain mode in the flashbacks in season 2 current time line they had a live and let live kind of relationship. So I don't know how they can make Waller and ARGUS into big bad without any build up.
I need more events shown to make me feel Ra's is the big bad. I have only minimal knowledge of Katana. Only thing I know is her kid and husband get murdered and Maseo's soul get trapped in her sword and it speaks to her. Let me go and read more on it.
True. The most villainous thing that Ra's did this season was threatening to kill the citizens of Starling if Oliver didn't deliver Sara's killer. And somehow this was justified, it was to avenge one of their own. Not to level the Glades so the dirty Glades residents won't harm the rich folks!! AND NOW OLIVER IS EAGER TO GO BACK TO BEING A KILLER TO KILL RA'S WHO ONLY WANTS TO HARM OLIVER AND THEA BECAUSE OF THE PLAN MALCOLM, WHO IS NOW OLIVER'S TEACHER, DESIGNED TO SAVE HIS SKIN!!!!!!!
Ra's ended up threatening Oliver and Starling City's people because Oliver decided to protect a mass murderer and stand in their way.
The hero aspect of Oliver which he slowly built up in the last two seasons are being compromised because he was stupid in his love for Thea and let Malcolm roam free.
I have no idea tbh. Either they resurrect some one, or something happens.. Oliver turns against Malcolm and decides to work with LoA, or ARGUS comes into play and we are shown they are the one's backing Malcolm to get to LoA. There has to be some point to all this ARGUS flashbacks right?
Ra's actually does not know Thea killed Sara. Merlyn was the only one who knew. I don't see how Ra's will learn about this if Merlyn does not leak the info. If Merlyn is this good father then why would he do that? Also nothing shown yet on the show establishes Ra's as an unreasonable villain. What makes Oliver think Ra's will not understand Merlyn drugged Thea and she was innocent? They need to establish him to be ruthless. Ra's himself said his enemy is evil.

"What kind of psycho would put that thing there!?"
ReplyDelete"Me."
LOL.
Also: Tommy!
Seems like the definition of a filler episode but should be fun lol
ReplyDeleteI just know this episode is going to be awesome. More Thea/Oliver bonding and training together is perfect. My Queen siblings <3 And when they go visit Robert's grave. Oh boy, I'm going to be a wreck.
ReplyDeleteso will the Canadian promo have some spoilers! I feel like they going to the island and it will be a trap set up by Merlyn
ReplyDeleteLOL. This is gonna be awesome!
ReplyDeleteI live in Canada and there was no promo after the episode. For Arrow sometimes there is no Canadian promo
ReplyDeleteThis is going to be awesome. Totally filler episode but enjoyable and entertaining as hell. I can't wait for it. Yes Thea things are so much better now that some of the secrets are out. If only Oliver would tell her about Sara too.
ReplyDeleteI in Canada too. Didn't get to watch it live. have to find an unofficial way to watch the episode.... I guess someone told them that the promo gave away
ReplyDeletemaybe this will be happy episode? the main story arc will be there still just in the background.
ReplyDeleteHey Ollie, next time you want to take Thea to an island try Hawaii instead. This vacation blows.
ReplyDelete"Me" Hahahahahahahahaha. Alright. This looks promising. Pleaseee be promising.
ReplyDeleteHawaii is so overrated for the Queen kids though
ReplyDeleteTrue. Plus Ollie probably can't afford it now anyway.
ReplyDeleteI have faith it will be, Shannon! From what Guggenheim has talked about the episode being a sort of love letter to the fans and dropping some cool Easter eggs and references along the way, I'am really hyped for it.

ReplyDeleteI am expecting Oliver to tell Thea he was in the city during the 5 years but force to not make contract
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely not a filler episode.
ReplyDeletelove having Oliver and Thea back as the awesome brother and sister we know and love, LMAO of course Oliver put that thing there LOL
ReplyDeleteyou got that right!
ReplyDeletefor real? that sucks
ReplyDeleteLOL
ReplyDeleteit makes me cry actually when Slade calls him "Kid" because it reminds me of when he was a freaking hero and now he's a psychopath
ReplyDeleteI like it. Ha, works for me.
ReplyDelete"What phsycho put that in here?" "Me" hahahaha of course it's you who else lol
ReplyDeleteI missed you two a lot. Plz stay like this, no more lying and choosing Malcolm and giving each other ultimatums.
Tommmyyyy
I like it when Slade calls Oliver kid :)
"The Emerald Archer vs. Deathstroke" an Epilogue. Feat. Speedy. Lol
This looks awesome (oh plz be awesome)
Oliver and Thea make a good siblings, seems so natural without secrets. Hope nothing gets in the way like ever.
ReplyDeleteLooks amazing and fun, can´t wait :)
ReplyDeleteLooks great:)
ReplyDeletewhat works?
ReplyDelete"What kind of a phsycho would put that thing there?"
ReplyDelete"Me"
A little brother and sister time...Nice.

I think he was standing in front of Oliver's grave in the Queen's mansion. Maybe he was feeling guilty about his relationship with Laurel.
ReplyDeleteIt would be very interesting to see Lyla's reaction if the team went against Waller.
ReplyDeleteSLADEEEEEEEE !!! YAY

ReplyDeleteYeah, this plot has more holes than Oliver's practice bullseye...
ReplyDeletewhat I understand about Ra's he's willing to kill most of the human population to insure the earth survival for years to come
ReplyDelete
