What good is a superhero with amnesia? You might be surprised. Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has ordered up a second guest appearance by Thor's battle buddy Lady Sif—only this time the Asgardian gladiatrix (Jaimie Alexander) isn't quite herself.
The ABC series returns Tuesday, March 3 and in the second episode back, Sif comes to Earth on an undercover mission and has a bodyslamming showdown with a foe whose superpowers are equal to her own. (Marvel is keeping the baddie's identity hush-hush.) Footage of the epic clash, which takes place on the coast of Portugal, becomes big news on social media, prompting the S.H.I.E.L.D. agents to rush to the scene to investigate. Not only do they find Sif without her lusty trademark armor, but she has also lost her short-term memory.
"Sif has no idea who Thor is or that she serves a king, and we're going to have fun with that," says executive producer Jeffrey Bell. "It'll give us some much-needed humor in a season that's been full of betrayal and death. Sif can't even recall who she came here from Asgard to stop, but Agent Coulson [Clark Gregg] and his team will try to help her figure all that out."

Aww hell yes great to see Sif back and it sounds like a fun episode.
ReplyDeleteSomeone has seriously screwed up this post.
ReplyDeleteThe formatting has caused the site to go completely crazy
Yes this makes me really happy Sif has actually been one of my favourite characters in the Thor universe so I am really excited about this! sounds fun!
ReplyDeleteAwesome! Loved her in the episode she did last year -- great screen presence and chemistry with each cast member. I'd love if they found a way to have her on on a recurring basis.
ReplyDeleteThough, amnesia is pretty silly.
Awesome, I was totally hoping they would keep her around as a regular or recurring character. This show DOES need more superheroes
ReplyDeleteyessssssssssss my girl is gonna be back!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteYess, so happy Jaimie Alexander is returning as the beautiful Lady Sif! Wonder why she has amnesia and can't remember Thor. The person who has known her since childhood. Should be interesting to see. This is gonna be hilarious and I can't wait.
ReplyDeleteGreat news!
ReplyDeleteI liked her!
Shouldn't she remember Thor if she lost her short term memory? I'm thinking it's actually long term and she probably lost all her memories after her fight.
ReplyDeleteGuilty as charged.
ReplyDeleteIt could be that the memory loss is from someone a bit more sinister, after all its Loki who is masquerading as King right now, so he could have done something to Sif, I'm still convinced Loki let Lorelei escape to send Sif after her in order to keep Sif away from Asgard whilst he plans bad bad things. But if my theory is true then it probably won't be confirmed until Thor 3.
ReplyDeleteOhhhh, totally missed the part where it says she's undercover. As for the baddie she's fighting, I have no idea haha. Could be anything or anyone at this point. I'm thinking it's a relatively big one since Marvel is keeping quiet on who it is. Anyway, hopefully this will give the show a little boost. It needs everything it can get.
ReplyDeleteooh! i like that theory and it's definitely not far fetched at ALL! awesome theory
ReplyDeleteAWESOME!!!! i love Sif, it would be so awesome to have Fandral aka Zachary Levi guest on an episode , i wonder if she's dealt or knows about the Inhumans
ReplyDeleteThat's a great theory, Lou! Dammit Loki! Always trying to mess everything up haha. Gotta love him.
ReplyDeleteWell he is a trickster! But his tricks always go too far!
ReplyDeleteThis sounds awesome, i can't wait to see her again and not to mention
ReplyDeletethat i can't wait to see if Skye's new abilities might come in help.
That would be so freaking epic if that happens. But how about those two AND the Cavalry? I don't think I would be able to handle all the badassery haha. I was gonna add Skye into the mix but she's having trouble controlling her powers right now so it would be wise to keep her on the sidelines for now XD
ReplyDeletedo we even know if Odin's alive?
ReplyDeleteLove her! I think she's awesome! And I'm game for a humorous episode, but I dunno... She's not at the top of my list from MCU characters I'd like to see on the show... plus with everything going on I think this will be more of a filler episode, and IMO there's enough going on to not need a filler episode
ReplyDeleteYES!! Love Lady Sif.
ReplyDeleteIf I did my math right this episode will be released right before AoU comes out. (I heard their shooting episode 17 right now so this is probably number 18 or 19 and episode 19 should come out the Tuesday before AoU.) I wonder if there's a connection. This may explain why they are doing something that on the seems like a filler episode that may actually be part of the bigger plot thread.
ReplyDeleteThis is going to be fun.
ReplyDeleteNo we don't, he could be dead for all we know or Loki just has him hidden somewhere
ReplyDeleteGreat news. I love Sif :)
ReplyDeleteI was always imagining Black Widow, The Cavalry and Mockingbird as the ultimate badass MCU trio, but if we can't get BW, I'll settle for Lady Sif. The thing is that Bobbi and Sif both look like freaking Amazons so I keep thinking it would be so amazing to see them fight together. With all due respect for Skye, she's not in the same league as all of these ladies... at least until she learns how to wreak some earthquake-related havoc :)
ReplyDeleteThe article does say her knowledge about Inhumans (I'm guessing some of them aren't so friendly) will come in handy. Although, considering that Sif didn't know the Kree had visited Earth, I'm not sure how she could know about Inhumans.
ReplyDeleteI would totally say that Loki messed with Sif's memory to keep her from figuring out he's masquerading as Odin and coming after him, but this article makes it sound like she loses her memory as a result of the battle she has in the beginning of this episode with the mysterious baddie.
ReplyDeleteI don't know, part of the appeal of the show is that they're the underdogs - ordinary humans protecting the world from "extraordinary" threats. One team member (Skye) with powers might be okay plus the odd appearance from super-powered allies like Sif, but too much of that and the show becomes something else entirely.
ReplyDeleteTrue true but one has to wonder why she is on Earth fighting a baddie to begin with, could Loki!Odin have sent her? I'm just too suspicious!
ReplyDelete"without her lusty trademark armor" ........ wut ?
ReplyDeleteAh so we're just learning about it now then... well they keep things well hidden on this show, that's for sure.
ReplyDeleteShe might have asked since she we last saw her maybe....?
ReplyDeleteYes! I love Sif.
ReplyDeleteoof well Thor better find out and kill Loki
ReplyDeletethat's true
ReplyDeletei'm on the thought that ALL Inhumans are evil and the only good one is Skye
ReplyDeleteI'll be in my bunk!
ReplyDeleteWe might see it like this but the average Joe associates Marvel with superheroes and AoS does indeed not deliver on that. Explaining the ratings
ReplyDeleteSweet! Loved her appearance in s1, and I love the humor in this show... sounds like it's gonna be great. :)
ReplyDeleteBased on the small promo I watched it looks like the Inhumans storyline and the episodes are going to be a lot better especially better than season 1 but we can only hope.
ReplyDeletevery good explanation, that's why part of me is kind of sad Skye has powers
ReplyDeletePortugal? Wait what?
