** TITLE CHANGE **
ASTONISHING CHANGES THROW COULSON’S TEAM INTO ALL NEW JEOPARDY, ON THE MIDSEAON PREMIERE OF “MARVEL’S AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D.” ON ABC
“Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” returns for a dynamic, action-packed second half of season two, TUESDAY, MARCH 3 (9:00-10:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network.
Editor’s Note: The episode title “Epidemic” has been changed to “Aftershocks.”
After discovering an alien city with ties to his resurrection, Coulson and his team destroyed it before the forces of Hydra could claim its secrets, eliminating the villainous Whitehall (Reed Diamond) in the process. But new threats to the world have arisen, including Skye’s father, Cal (Kyle McLachlan), who now seeks retribution against Coulson for stealing his revenge against Whitehall; a disturbing alliance between former S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Ward (Brett Dalton) and Agent 33; the enigmatic Raina (Ruth Negga), who struggles with her transformation into something inhuman by the alien Obelisk and seeks vengeance; and Skye (Chloe Bennet), who developed mysterious new powers from the Obelisk but whose lack of experience with her new abilities may threaten the safety of those she loves.
Meanwhile, Bobbi (Adrianne Palicki) and Mack (Henry Simmons) begin the next phase of a plan which seems to have grave repercussions for Coulson and his team, who are unaware that there’s another mysterious force moving against them. And as Hunter (Nick Blood) is forced to make the biggest choice of his life, Coulson will find his mission threatened by this shocking endgame.
In the midseason premiere, “Aftershocks,” Coulson’s team must deal with the consequences of their war with Hydra as shocking revelations threaten to tear them apart, and Hydra makes a dangerous move that may involve a traitor in S.H.I.E.L.D.’s midst.
“Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” stars Clark Gregg as Director Phil Coulson, Ming-Na Wen as Agent Melinda May, Brett Dalton as Grant Ward, Chloe Bennet as Agent Skye, Iain De Caestecker as Agent Leo Fitz, Elizabeth Henstridge as Agent Jemma Simmons, Nick Blood as Lance Hunter and Adrianne Palicki as Bobbi Morse.

So 2x11 isn't "aftershocks" anymore :D
ReplyDeleteLooks like they changed it. Aftershicks was such a fitting title.
ReplyDeletei thought they meant an alliance between Ward, 33 and SHIELD not with Ward and 33 DAMN IT!!! i had such high hopes AARRRRGGGGGHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteAnd the action keeps coming in a good way! So many things to happen in the span of the one hour from the sounds of it but they have been really keeping up a fast, consistent pace this season it's been great.
ReplyDeleteWhen did Palicki get upped to regular?
ReplyDeleteeh and where's the "Adrienne Palicki upgraded to regular" news bit?!
ReplyDeleteuh, I'm so excited and jittery. And still 3 weeks left. I can't withstand anymore...
ReplyDelete3 weeks?! you're sure?
ReplyDeleteme too, they did a number on me with that. I had to read it twice.
ReplyDeleteThis is gonna be awesome. Oh, and they finally upped Adrianne Palicki to regular. About time.
ReplyDelete2 weeks and 4 days ;) I will count hours, minutes and seconds soon ;) I'm so impatient.
ReplyDeleteDidn't even notice. Yay
ReplyDeletei loved that title
ReplyDeleteyeah me too, to make sure. how awesome would it have been
ReplyDeleteholy crap it's basically here already!
ReplyDeletei don't want to be a pessimist but maybe it's a mistake?
ReplyDeletePalicki being promoted? I hope it isn't a mistake.
ReplyDeleteyup, maybe one day. I don't give up hope.
ReplyDeleteThey changed the episode title? Kinda bummed, "Aftershocks" was both brilliant and punny. I hope that the news of Adrienne being promoted to regular are true, the team needs Mockingbird. Hell yeah for more ladies.
ReplyDeleteYay! I can't wait. I kind of liked Aftershocks as the title though. Skye's mom is back, too.
ReplyDeleteYay! I love all of this news except for the title change.
ReplyDeleteI guess
ReplyDeleteit's in the "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. stars (...) Adrianne
Palicki as Bobbi Morse" part of the text.
I doubt it is a mistake.
ReplyDeleteWait a moment, HOLY SHIT. Why is NO ONE talking about the fact that Skye's MOTHER has finally been given a NAME?! "Dichen Lachman as Jiaying", OH MY GODS.
ReplyDeleteThe synopsis does list her under "the show stars" people, not "guest starring", so I don't think it's a mistake.
ReplyDeletetime flies (although it's still too long), but that also means that the next 12 episodes will be gone soon and we have to wait months again...*sigh*
ReplyDeleteAdrianne Palicki now a series regular. Hell yeah. The more we get of Bobbi Morse, the better.
ReplyDeleteThe Baroness - the tie-in to the movie Captain America - Civil war.
ReplyDeleteI pointed that out before they changed the title
ReplyDeleteOh my god, if Adrianne Palicki being a regular is actually true I could not be happier. She's great in the role (such a badass) and I was so afraid that she wouldn't last longer. Seriously such good news I cant even believe it.
ReplyDeleteI love bobi and lance's banters.Glad to see we'll get to see more of her.Great news!
ReplyDeleteIt's funny, Raina "who struggles with her transformation into something inhuman by the alien Obelisk and seeks vengeance" was the one who asked for it so eagerly.
ReplyDeleteShe probably got transformed into something she doesn't like and is now pissed.
ReplyDeleteYes to Adrianne becoming a regular! Wish Henry would be upped too but I'm really happy about this. And Skye's mom has a name!
ReplyDeleteGod, I need 2B in my life.
Ah, okay, sorry.
ReplyDeleteI feel so much glee right now. Tough! Our Skye got the cool power.
ReplyDeleteso many new faces in one episode... i'm a little concerend that we not getting enough character time from the "old" team
ReplyDeleteOn any other show become a regular would be a good thing but this show is produced by Whedons. On Buffy, the episode they made the actress that play Tara a regular they killed off her character. I'm afraid of something like that happening again.
ReplyDeleteI knew they were going to do this with Raina. She was so gung ho about becoming an Inhuman and now it sounds like she's going to be horrified by what she's become. Poetic justice at its finest.
ReplyDeleteZero mention of what Fitz and Simmons are up to. I swear, Marvel purposely omit that stuff just to mess with me.
When does Henry Simmons get promoted to regular? This show needs more Mack.
there's a definite hope that he will be back on the team right?
ReplyDeleteokay NOW i can be ecstatic about Adrianne Palicki, unless she's like Lyndsy Fonseca on Agent Carter
ReplyDeleteyaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaas , adrianne palicki is a regular , her character is the 2nd best thing after the amazing improvements in basically everything this season, so happy :)
ReplyDeletewhy bring me down? LOL but yeah it's still crazy long
ReplyDeletethey did the same with Lyndsy Fonseca on Agent Carter
ReplyDeleteit IS pretty cool, how crazy would it be if she's alive even though we saw what happened to her but maybe she can heal fast next to not aging
ReplyDeletewho's that?
ReplyDeletesurprised too, i wouldn't think she'd care
ReplyDeleteright?!
ReplyDeletei miss that so much, i loved it when it was our core team, Ward included
ReplyDeletei like that: poetic justice, and Mack's pretty much an alien racist
ReplyDeleteJoss isn't in charge of the show, though. Mo and Jed can be mean but they're not that mean.
ReplyDeleteas the saying says : be careful what you wish for
ReplyDeleteI doubt Marvel would let them kill off Mockingbird even if they wanted to.
ReplyDeleteIn my view he will. And I will hang on to that hope until the end. He's my favourite character on AoS and in general.
ReplyDeleteThe Baroness has a connection with Baron Zemo (Daniel Brühl), a character who will appear in that movie.
ReplyDeleteExactly!
ReplyDeleteAdrianne as regular is the best news ever!!! I adore her and her character, so happy!
ReplyDeleteWhat is Bobbi and she working with mac........another traitor!
ReplyDelete*chuckle*
ReplyDeleteYES. Change approved. More Palicki is so, so approved. Can't wait to see what's going on with Bobbi and Mack. And Agent 33 and Ward for that matter; they're both wild cards, and that can only be fun.
ReplyDeleteAww yiss! Bobbi being a regular is the best news.
ReplyDeleteYup, it's how we know the princesses are safe on OUAT too - Disney would not let that happen.
ReplyDeleteI did too -- I've already stopped tuning in. I'm not sure if I'll ever bother catching up on the last two episodes I missed and I don't know that I'll bother tuning in when it does come back.
ReplyDeleteoh ok
ReplyDeleteum they made Ward into what he is, so they're a little bit mean
ReplyDeleteyou consider 33 in the same level as Ward? isn't she full-on evil unlike Ward who's more good?
ReplyDelete33 was brainwashed. Ward was not, which he has said himself. And he knows she's brainwashed, so if he's not actually trying to help her break out of that and using her do what he wants, then that's pretty damn evil. And there's all the other bad things he's done while not brainwashed. So switch those around - Ward is the more evil one, while 33 is potentially the one still being used to do bad things more or less against her will. Although if he is trying to help her be not brainwashed anymore, then I'll give him points towards the whole redemption thing. The "disturbing alliance" thing sounds more like he's just using her though, and replacing himself for Whitehall in her poor brainwashed head.
ReplyDeleteGreat news! I love Bobbi.
ReplyDeleteno i think he's going to help her, i'm still confused by the brainwashing, isn't it glitchy i mean Gill was coming back to himself before, well you know...
ReplyDeleteI think it's kind of hilarious. Serves her right, too.
ReplyDeleteOr he might have just found a way to snap out of it. Some event, or something to do with his powers, who knows? I personally don't hold a lot of hope for that, given how their team-up has been described, but I will give Ward credit if that's what happens. I just don't think it will.
ReplyDeleteGill was Gifted, and that probably jacks with the brainwashing process. It may be more effective on regular humans like Agent 33.
ReplyDeleteProbably a flashback, though.
ReplyDeleteImo that was one of the best decisions ever.
ReplyDeleteI think it fits her character. She wanted to become someone special, perhaps get kick-ass powers or something, but the Terrigenesis clearly changed her appearance too, and we know that Raina has always been fond of her looks and used them a lot to get what she wanted.
ReplyDeleteso the brainwashing was only glitchy because Gill was Gifted?
ReplyDeleteProbably. But it WOULD be interesting to see someone with, for the lack of a better word, Wolverine-type powers.
ReplyDeleteboth?
ReplyDeleteyeah it would
ReplyDeletethat's true, i guess i saw her as a true fanatic of the Inhuman possibility that she wouldn't care what happened to her
ReplyDeletewhy? and don't say he was boring i hate when people say that
ReplyDeleteMmh...good question...
ReplyDeleteI'm clueless...
ReplyDeleteLOL, true but they're not as mean as Joss has proven himself to be.
ReplyDeleteEpidemic looks liek there is more than one people with new powers. Excited to see wha is become of Raina and her new path.
ReplyDeleteWhat in the world are Bobbi and Mack working on?
THAT i can agree to LOL
ReplyDeleteah ok
ReplyDeleteYesss! Adrianne is a series regular! So happy for her. Bobbi is one of my favorite characters ever and I can't wait to see her kick more ass in the second half of the season. Also, I'm very interested in seeing this Bobbi/Mack storyline come to a head. Wonder what they're hiding from Coulson and the team.
ReplyDeletePretty excited!
ReplyDelete(I haven't been particularly enamored with Adrianne or her take on Bobbi, but I was expecting her to be promoted anyway)
of what?
ReplyDeleteHow exciting. I like Bobbi, and I've been very worried she'd just go away, so this is a nice surprise.
ReplyDeleteThis is far better, ward needs to earn that for it to be good writing.
ReplyDeleteYAY!!!! Best news ever. So glad that Adrianne is now a regular cast member. Now, we just need our show back on TV. Can't wait :)
ReplyDeleteWard is NOT good.
ReplyDeleteConfirmed by ABC.
ReplyDeleteAnd ABC changed the title back to Aftershocks, lol
ReplyDeletePersonally, I would have preferred Henry over Adrianne to be honest.
ReplyDeletei'm completely glad that they did
ReplyDeleteso was Lyndsy Fonseca on Agent Carter and she's just recurring
ReplyDeleteOh god we're so screwed I can't wait
ReplyDeleteFirstly yay for Adrianne becoming a regular, seemed the most logical thing really.
ReplyDeleteSecondly I'm very intrigued by what Bobbi, Mack and by extension Hunter are up to now. I assumed it was that Bobbi and Mack were secretly reporting back to Hill or Fury but this makes it seem a bit more serious.
Finally I love that Raina is going to be all bitter and pissed off, from what we saw at the end of the last episode she is clearly transformed into something hideous and as a person who has previously always looked great and worn lovely dresses, I'm guessing she isn't happy at this at all.
and I think Skye is now Agent Skye was that there before?
ReplyDeleteum why? because he's not with the team, has he tried to kill them? stop their missions?, NO! so he's not evil but he's good maybe not not full hero good more of an anti-hero
ReplyDeletemaybe she's a snot otter LOL
ReplyDeleteHe almost caused the death of FitzSimmons and that has left Fit permanently damaged. He killed Koenig and Hand without giving it a second that. He allegedly killed his brother and parents. (no matter what happoened in his childhood, that doesn't justify that.) And you still think he's not evil?
ReplyDeleteI just don't understand Ward supporters/apologizers.
throwing them off the Bus was their ONLY shot at surviving garrett, and the reason is becuse he was abuse his entire life
ReplyDeleteYeah, they barely survived. For all he knows, they were certainly going to die. And suffering abuse is no excuse to murder someone.
ReplyDeletewhat would have rather have happened? Grant letting them out of the box, try to fight garrett and then all three of them dying in the process? There was no way in hell that they could've survived if that happened and don't forget emotionally brainwashed maybe not like 33 but brainwashed either way
ReplyDeleteYou must have paid too much attention to Brett Dalton's pretty face and abs to notice the part where Agent 33 was brainwashed by Hydra (as in LITERAL brainwashing, unlike Ward, no matter what the apologists/shippers claim).
ReplyDeleteI wanted them both (and BJ).
ReplyDeleteShe's not doing it for me... So even though I was expecting it, I don't really care...
ReplyDeleteDon't get me started on BJ's situation. Still super bummed he's gone :(
Don't bother. You're arguing with people who substitute the actual content of the show with their favorite SkyeWard fanfiction to support their claims. No amount of logic is going to help.
ReplyDeleteI wonder what the same folks would be saying if Ward was being played by, say, Patton Oswalt. I've a sneaking suspicion they wouldn't be quite so forgiving towards his actions in that case.
You got that right. I wanna repeatedly hit my head against a wall when I read their justifications for Ward's acts.
ReplyDeleteAnd, lol, that would be totally true.
I just noticed Talbot in the guest list. So looks like he is not dead after all.
ReplyDeleteThere and back again hahahaahahah
ReplyDeleteI hope that full time Bobbi Morse = better Bobbi Morse. Before I get ganged up let me explain:
ReplyDeleteMobbi Morse is "Mocking Bird" She's an AVENGER!. Or at least she will be (eventually). If that's the case then she should be MUCH, MUCH better than everyone else on the SHIELD team. That's because the Avengers are the elite. The cream of the crop.
Do you remember when Lady Sif came after Lorelei and they had the road house bar surrounded: Coulson told all of the SHIELD agents to hold back and let Sif go in alone. With Mockingbird it should be similar to that. She should be able to go into any room and mop up by herself. She's that good, or rather she should be.
The way Bobbi Morse is coming across now isn't bad: it's good. It is. But it should be POW AWESOME! and it isn't. Her first appearance with the Hydra guards in the corridor when she saved Simmons was impressive but after that its been just OK. She should be noticeably more skilled, advanced and formidable than her team mates and right now she's just one of the team.
March 3 needs to get here RIGHT NOW! So excited for the second half of the season!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad Adrianne Palicki is a regular now, I was always worried they'd kill her character off. And we need more Mockingbird kicking asses with her eskrima sticks.
When I pointed out that the whole "Ward was trying to save FitzSimmons by ejecting them out of the plane" argument is BS anyway because HE captured them and brought them to the plane in the first place, the reply I got was: "Someone obviously spotted them so he went to get them." The level of ridiculousness they would go to in order to polish Ward's image is difficult to believe.
ReplyDeleteAm I really the only person bothered by the fact that there's absolutely no mention of Trip?
ReplyDeleteSo true.
ReplyDeleteAnd all the "stand with Ward" crap on twitter is so ridiculous. And it drives me up the wall well people compare him to Romanoff.
Like @Alex Forrest, he was the one who captured them both.
ReplyDeleteI would truly love Skye and Ward to be endgame but for now I don't think its going to happen and I have a sneaking suspicion that Luke Mitchell's character might be Skye's new love interest!!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad. More fitting title.
ReplyDeleteNot too mention killing those two Shield men at the Fridge, helping release all the dangerous people there and helping Hydra get all the dangerous tech, and killing/injuring (at best) those Army troops sent to bring him in.
ReplyDeleteAgent 33 has no choice in her actions due to the brainwashing, he willingly chose to kill.
SWORD perhaps?
ReplyDeleteSince at best it's just going to be them talking about his death why would they mention it. There's little comparison to say Bobbi/Mack up to something (betraying the team maybe) for example.
ReplyDeleteYasss, so glad to see Adrianne promoted to regular! More and more Bobbi yes!
ReplyDeleteHow about Cal?
ReplyDeleteWho could she be seeking vengeance against? She did it all to herself.
ReplyDeleteWell, he's a lot more interesting post-heel turn, that's for sure.
ReplyDeleteYes, she did. But I think she will be undiscerning and blame others for what happened to her. Maybe she will direct her vengeance against Shield and Skye, who got away much better than she did. Or maybe she will surprise us...we will find out.
ReplyDeleteThat wouldn't make sense. SHIELD and Skye were trying to stop her from going through with this. I could see her holding a grudge against Cal though.
ReplyDeleteWell, he's dead, so he probably won't be doing anything in the episode, or appearing in it. Is there a reason why he WOULD be mentioned?
ReplyDeleteOf course it wouldn't make sense to us but if she'll be undiscerning and delusional she might do something senseless. But Cal is a very possible option.
ReplyDelete
