Enzo. It's because this season the writers clearly have no idea how to write this interesting character without turning him into an idiot, and it's really painful to watch. Such a shame. He reminds of Damon from the first season of the show, so if he actually interacted with the main characters (as opposed to having scenes with Stefan, and Stefan alone), and forgot his stupid vendetta, it could really spice things up. If I had to take a wild guess, it'd say that Enzo's storyline is so forced, because someone was worried he'd outshine this season's villain (Kai). Which would not happened to skilled writers.
I don't dislike Bonnie but I think that having her die twice has kind of taken away the stakes of her character and I feel like she is is a bit played out so if I had to pick anyone it would be her. But I actually don't want them to remove anyone from now. Jeremy is a good choice since he really doesn't have a purpose anymore but other than him I feel that the cast is well utilized at this moment. Even Tyler is finally better used this season with the Liv storyline.
Most characters have to go. Bonnie, Jeremy and Enzo should have died for real and Tyler should have stayed wherever he was in season 5 and not come back. The show didn't need them. They are so useless this season. Except Bonnie perhaps. I won't even talk about Matt. At the contrary I deeply regret that almost every new character they've introduced ended up dead and did not stay. Some of them were very promosing. I mean Katherine, Nadia, Pearl, Anna, and so many others like Stefan's recent girlfriend.
Stefan and Bonnie are two regulars the writers just don't seem to take seriously anymore, either start writing real stories for them or send them away. as far as most annoying definitely Enzo
Enzo and Alaric. Although if Luke, Liv and Jo were in the poll, I would have voted for at least one of them. Enzo is just pointless and annoying and the more he hangs around, the more annoying he gets. Alaric is another boring useless character who hasn't served much of a purpose since perhaps season 4. None of the things they've tried doing with his character have been particularly interesting. That includes his stint as an original vampire (yawn), his relationship with Jo (ZZzzzzzzz) and his job as University of professor (which by definition will put most people to sleep). I'm also probably one of the few people who thinks that his bromance with Damon is extremely overrated. They should have let his character stay on the other side.
Enzo is awful. There was no point to bring Alaric back. Matt is literally non-existent since season 2. Tyler is also mistreated since season 3. Caroline's character is ruined to force Steroline. Bonnie is always a plot-device, no matter how much I rule for her, she always gets the short end of the stick and suffers. I just feel sorry for the actors. Neither of them is so much needed. Why would they be? Delena is only what matters in the show.
I think that The Powers That Be had something to do with it. At first, Aimee Teegarden was supposed to be the CW's next great star, but when it didn't work out that way, they made the choice to look elsewhere. Even though The Selection was not picked up, Yael Grobglas got two roles on their 'promising' TV shows (while she's great as Petra, her role on Reign was simply pointless), and same seems to be happening to Michael Malarkey. And I think it's because someone thinks they have a tremendous amount of potential (which is true; just give MM a lead role somewhere else!), the writers be damned.
Enzo has been annoying since he showed up last season and it's only getting worse and Tyler's storyarc has been crap for the last couple of seasons. I'd be happy to see them both go.
And Damon actually had a bigger agenda than just annoying the hell out of Stefan (releasing Katherine and a bunch of others from a tomb). Enzo has...none. -_-
I respectfully disagree. I feel like the writers are doing absolutely nothing to develop this character, or even portray him in a multidimensional way, so the end result is messy. Last season, it looked like he was a snarky, morally ambiguous jackass with a code of honor, and this season, he's a petty child, throwing temper tantrums and chasing after shadows.
I firmly believe he has hidden depths, but the problem is, they may stay that way.
Which is exactly what I said (maybe my post wasn't clear enough, sorry for that ;). Right now he's acting like an idiot, and his vendetta makes no sense.
Who I think will be gone next? Matt. Who I hope will be gone next? Enzo...if he's not given another storyline immediately. AND Matt. Matt has nothing to do. He never has anything to do.
I created this poll, and I keep looking at the results to see if anyone agrees with me about Tyler and Enzo. I am overwhelmed by how many people voted for Enzo. Personally I think it's just a problem with him not having a good enough storyline on account of Steroline. Someone had to get sacrificed. But Tyler has to go. I don't really hate the character because he's fictional, and I can see that people are trying to give him his own stories, but his time on The Originals made him a particularly villainous character that I have a very hard time tolerating. This whole Lyler thing, where Tyler clings to a girl more than ever because she killed someone for him, is not good. It's almost as if the writers want us to hate Tyler's character. Maybe he's slated to get killed off at the end of this season and, like with Katherine, the writers are preparing fans for a major death with a story that most people will have a hard time watching. I wouldn't be surprised if Tyler does trigger his werewolf gene and then goes stir crazy before getting killed off.
I agree. JP tried to calm down Klaroline shippers by saying that Caroline isn't ready yet as a character to be on TO, but if Caroline ever did change so much that she would go to New Orleans AND consider a long-term relationship with Klaus, she wouldn't be Caroline anymore. She would be just as selfish, immature, and violent as most of the characters already on TO and no longer the character fans fell in love with. Then people would blame the writers for it when really the blame would rest on fans who wouldn't stop petitioning to put Caroline on TO. It's bad enough Steroline is being shoved down our throats. They say it's supposed to be a slow build, but it still feels forced.
You guys don't even know what you're asking. I'm already sick of the delena/steroline diaries and you compaign to get rid of everyone except them. 40 minutes about nothing else than these 4. they are already a snoozefest. The supporting cast at least provides different storylines. No matter how irrelevant they are to Elena's narrative. Oddly enough the fandom is also annoyed with her. Everyone is irrelevant to the narrative of a character they hate and yet they judge characters by this relevancy. How does that make sense?
My. Thoughts. Exactly. As in, I literally saw the poll and thought I should post a comment saying that, but didn't care enough about the show to actually do it.
Do you even have to ask? Tyler and Matt. They do absolutely nothing in the show and writers don't know what to do with them. They're trying to fix it with the Lyler ship and I think they're going to turn Matt into the next Tripp. Both of these storylines are just useless efforts to give Matt and Tyler a sense in the show. I would've voted for Enzo too. It's sad b/c I really like his character but his storyline is one of the most ridiculous I've ever seen. His reasons to ruin Stefan's life don't make any sense. Plus, he was Damon's friend in season 5 and he has had only one scene with him this season!
TVD fans here have hardly anything positive to say or talk about, so they do what they do best: hate. And elsewhere it is even worth I have heard. Just ignore the poll or enjoy group hate but never try to make sense out of this polls :)
Bamon story is probably the only positive thing I will give it as we got a break from Delena. If that one relationship was ended permanent, it would help the show a lot I think. But the likelihood of that is not at all.
Tyler, Matt and Enzo, preferebly in that order. They contribute absolutely nothing to the show, and in Tyler and Matt's case they have done so for several seasons, so it's time to go. I would also say it's time for Kat Graham to move onto better things since Bonnie's been under utilized for too long, but I really liked what they did with her and Damon at the beginning of the season, so there may be hope for her yet.
Oh God no!!! she needs to die! not only because she's an incredible dull character, but because of what she did to Jo after she sacrifised her life to save her and Luke when they were children.
They have Damon tied up in to much storylines with Elena, so Enzo has become a Damon knock off to keep Stefan relevant. I myself like the character Enzo he is just in a very bad storyline. If anything one character that needs to go is Elena, TVD went down hill after she turned and they killed off Katherine.
I wish the show hadn't quietly made Stefan into a 'well-adjusted vampire'. And I don't mean the blood issues. His struggle to be human and the basic impossibility of that always moved me. And now suddenly he can live in the same town for 30 years? 30 YEARS?? Yeah, suuuure.
I don't mean in Mystic Falls. In 6x03 he told Elena she can choose what life she wants for the next 30 years (with the implication of him doing that in Savannah) and just last episode he told Liz about the consequences of moving an every couple of DECADES. Unless I misheard and/or am overreacting, the show is implying that a vampire CAN settle down somewhere for decades. It's kind of like pretending that Elena can be a doctor (well, maybe compelling a whole hospital and all her patients).
Flat out? No. But I don't remember him saying the opposite either. Ehh, ultimately it doesn't matter, I guess I'm just having a hard time letting go of Stefan's existential drama.
I agree. Caroline cultivating a less "sweet" side through Enzo would have been fun and interesting to watch. Not to annoy any steroline stans, but a relationship between Caroline and Stefan will not show us anything new or entertaining about the characters.
Enzo. Great actor and the character had great potential, but they fucked it up. Alaric. There was no reason to bring him back. None. Tyler. He lost any real point long ago. Matt. Same as Tyler, even if he does have his occasional good moments.
Also, Damon would be my first choice but I know it's never going to happen.
Realistically, I could see Stefan being the next main character to depart. It feels like Paul is hoping to get off the show almost every time he gives an interview.
I didn't like Tyler's story arc on the Originals, but I also think that the writers did his character a disservice by not showing things from his perspective. Hayley betrayed him and the other hybrids just so she could learn about her family, which resulted in Klaus slaughtering all of his hybrid friends and then killing his mother. He had a great relationship with Caroline, but the writers destroyed that possibly to make way for Klaroline. He also liked Liv way before she killed for him, so I don't think it has anything to do with Anyway, I like Tyler , but I think he's gotten a crappy edit from the writers in recent series. There are far worse villains than Tyler, so I don't think that's a good enough reason to get rid of him. I'd like his character to stay, but I'm not sure that the writers would care enough to do much with him. I haven't seen too many redeemable things about Enzo, though.
I gotta admit, I ship Caroline and Klaus as much as the next insane person, but no I don't want Caroline on the Originals. Klaroline (for me) is wayyyyyy down the line, years from now. She needs to live a full life without him before she heads in that direction, maybe two or three.
As much as I hate most of the women on the Originals (especially Camille oh god do I hate Camille), I don't think Caroline would be the right fit.
Enzo's job is to replace "bad" Damon. Klaus is gone, Stefan is under control, and all Damon cares about is Elena. Kai's nature kinda prevents him from being a long term villain. I think the TPTB want a character that we're kinda supposed to love to hate, but at the same time can go darkside and cross the line at any moment.
I was trying to think of something positive to say, but everything started with "Even though...." or "Despite the fact..." Damn, it's harder than I thought.
Wait how about this: I think Kai is the best TVD villain the show has had since Klaus.
I'm not sure why the TO writers had Klaus lie about Hayley's role in the hybrid massacre, but that in no way excuses Tyler attacking a baby, something he could still be capable of as a human. I never said that Tyler wasn't attracted to Liv before she killed for him. I was referring to the fact that Tyler became overly attached to her because he was grateful to her for killing for him. A decent human being would have, at the very least, showed concern for Liv's emotional state while she was clearly traumatized. Tyler didn't consider Liv's feelings or welfare any more than a common sociopath would. It's been long established that Klaroline won't happen beyond that little romp in the woods, so ships have nothing to do with what happened with Tyler's character. Whether or not it's due to the writing, Tyler is just as irredeemable as Enzo, and it was clear and concise writing that showed us why Tyler has no one to blame but himself for any of his problems since Season 5. He didn't need to be made human again to forget about Klaus and move on.
I disagree. Tyler lost his entire family for different reasons and what Klaus and Hayley did to him was unforgivable. All of the characters have lashed out at some point so it's hard to judge Tyler more than others, especially given the horrible tragedy he went through. Also, when Klaus made him a hybrid, he basically lost his freedom and was owned by Klaus. And unlike Enzo, who kills people randomly for petty reasons (like pleasing Damon or being jealous of Stefan), Tyler lashed out at Klaus and Hayley because of the extreme pain they caused him. People may not like Tyler, but I think it's a stretch to say that he's as much a sociopath as characters like Enzo or Klaus. Anyway, you have Plec on your side, so I wouldn't worry.
Its interesting that they keep killing and resurrecting characters. But how come if your a female regular and this includes Katherine, you remain dead. But if your male e.g Jeremy and Alaric you get resurrected. And Bonnie has to remain trapped from the real world, as a ghost etc. for the longest, but of course Damon returns so quickly. Out of the 10 regulars, only 3 are female, and they refuse to add any new females.
I hope Enzo dies, just so we can finally have our first official male regular die and they stay dead for a change.
Clearly given this show is written by two females Julie and Caroline, I can see why.
Everything, but especially her character. She's extremely selfish, shallow and infantile.. She acts like a child who wants sth and will scream and fight until everything will be as she said. She likes to pretend that she cares about others, yet prom dress is more important than her so called best friend in despair, going to college is more important than her missing so called friend and lust is more important than respect for her so called love of her life. She talks to much and there's no much sense in it and sometimes she's plain stupid. 18 years old and still doesn't know how to draw a equilateral triangle or keep mouth shut when someone asks her to. She has no self respect and falls for everyone who happen to stand near her. I'm so glad that I dropped that show before Stefan was forced to be with her.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
In order of annoyance:
ReplyDelete1. Tyler
2. Enzo
ReplyDeleteIf I had to take a wild guess, it'd say that Enzo's storyline is so forced, because someone was worried he'd outshine this season's villain (Kai). Which would not happened to skilled writers.
Why did they make Enzo a regular to begin with. We got Alaric back, so why does Damon need two BFF's. A waste of time.
ReplyDeleteI don't dislike Bonnie but I think that having her die twice has kind of taken away the stakes of her character and I feel like she is is a bit played out so if I had to pick anyone it would be her. But I actually don't want them to remove anyone from now. ReplyDeleteas far as most annoying definitely Enzo
Lol, what a poll... Everyone should leave, but Caroline Dries, queen of ships should be first.
ReplyDeleteOther: The show itself.
ReplyDeleteAll of the characters except Bonnie, caroline & Alaric.
ReplyDeleteThe writers that did all this mess on the show!!!
ReplyDeleteI will be disappointed if Enzo doesn't 'win' this poll. Utterly useless fellow.
ReplyDeleteEnzo and Alaric. Although if Luke, Liv and Jo were in the poll, I would have voted for at least one of them.
ReplyDeleteEnzo is just pointless and annoying and the more he hangs around, the more annoying he gets.

If there was an option to vote twice for him twice, I would have taken it.

ReplyDeleteEnzo has to go.
ReplyDeleteElena Gilbert.
ReplyDeleteEnzo > Tyler > Matt though they could all be dropped at once.
ReplyDeleteKai should be on the list, ...and I like everybody on that list, I especially like Enzo.. so lets see what is going to happen...
ReplyDeleteI think that The Powers That Be had something to do with it. ReplyDeleteI would assume Kai and his family are already out past this season, but the producers/writers always make that mistake.
ReplyDeleteTyler (he should have left a long time ago!)
ReplyDeleteMatt (maybe, he's been getting on my nerves lately and really doesn't really have a storyline)
Enzo! Tyler can go too
ReplyDeleteWhere's Elena?
ReplyDeleteI love Enzo and hate his storyline. The writers really fucked up.
ReplyDeleteI hope Liv sticks around. In S6 in started to like her and at least she gives Tyler something to do.
ReplyDeleteAnd Damon actually had a bigger agenda than just annoying the hell out of Stefan (releasing Katherine and a bunch of others from a tomb). Enzo has...none. -_-
ReplyDeleteI respectfully disagree. I feel like the writers are doing absolutely nothing to develop this character, or even portray him in a multidimensional way, so the end result is messy. Which is exactly what I said (maybe my post wasn't clear enough, sorry for that ;). Right now he's acting like an idiot, and his vendetta makes no sense.
ReplyDeleteStefan has to stay. He's the only one of the main three who I don't want to face palm about half the time.
ReplyDeleteWho I think will be gone next? Matt.
ReplyDeleteWho I hope will be gone next? Enzo...if he's not given another storyline immediately. AND Matt. Matt has nothing to do. He never has anything to do.
Difference is Damon in season one was interesting and fun. Enzo's not so much.
ReplyDeleteCaroline to New Orleans. A new enviorment would do wonders for her character. Klaus always said "small town boy, small town life... it wont be enough"
ReplyDeleteWait are you referring to Enzo? To be clear, I don't like the guy. I think he's an petty asshole who needs to leave Stefan alone.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I was talking about Enzo, but the funny thing is, this really applies to more than one character on this show, lol ;p
ReplyDeleteThere no place in the world that would do wonders or anything for this character, so leave NOLA alone.
ReplyDeleteYep he's gonna fall for Sarah Salvatore and have a crisis of conscience and I'll die a little inside. Well at least I have The Originals.
ReplyDeleteI'm really sad Jeremy's leaving.I hope Matt sprays.Tyler can leave or Luke,Liv.Knda like Jo,Kai,Enzo so they can go either way.Alaric can go too.

ReplyDelete30 years? Besides the 90's for a bit and now he was almost never in Mystic Falls.
ReplyDeleteI think that Candice's on-screen presence makes it very hard to not to 'ship her character with pretty much anyone :) She's amazing that way.
ReplyDeleteI don't mean in Mystic Falls. ReplyDeleteHe didn't say one place though. He never flat out said that. He's said the opposite in fact.
ReplyDeleteFlat out? No. But I don't remember him saying the opposite either. Ehh, ultimately it doesn't matter, I guess I'm just having a hard time letting go of Stefan's existential drama.
ReplyDeleteIn the last episode I believe he did.
ReplyDeleteEnzo and Tyler!!! Definitely!!! Omg!
ReplyDeleteTYLER!!!!!!! #truestory
ReplyDeleteEnzo deserves to be written better. Tyler is unsalvageable.

ReplyDeleteI disagree.
ReplyDeleteIts interesting that they keep killing and resurrecting characters.
ReplyDeleteI hope Enzo dies, just so we can finally have our first official male regular die and they stay dead for a change.
Clearly given this show is written by two females Julie and Caroline, I can see why.
What's so bad about her?
ReplyDeletecandice accola so she can move on to bigger and better things
ReplyDeleteEverything, but especially her character.
ReplyDeleteEnzo. He's useless and brings nothing to the show. Yawn. Oh, same goes for Tyler.
