Oh, I forgot about that intense fight between Clarke and Anya. Definitely on I would pick. But my top pick would be Arrow vs Deathsyroke. The rest of the Arrow, The Flash an The 100 fights all deserve a honorable mention.
not easy, my favorite Arrow ones are not up there: 1) Oliver vs Ra's - I know Oliver did not look good. But that was the point and kudos to Amell. 2) Clark vs Anya - gritty asnd pure survival mode 3) May Vs. Ward, it just felt sooo good
4) All fight scenes from Marco Polo.
My top Arrow: 1) Corto Maltese: Oliver as Diggles Back Up 2) Oliver vs Ra's 3) Arrow vs Deathstroke
haha even the same word gritty!!!! AoS is more artistic so at first it looks aww, but arrow looks more grounded and that's why I prefer it. But camera and editing on AoS is doing them a bigger favor than on Arrow
- Arrow vs Deathstroke - May vs May (but May vs Ward was very good too) - Flash vs Reverse Flash (only because they both have the same ability and the fight felt more "realistic". That's why I didn't like the Arrow vs Flash fight)
Other: BANSHEE: This show has great fights almost every episode.
My problem with the AoS fights is that they are soooo long, they start out awesome but then they just drag on and on and on like the May vs. May fight, it was so long I got bored and fast forwarded it. They may look cooler with the effects and the camera works but Arrow's are more enjoyable and more realistic.
AoS is so choreographed and sometimes slow for me. But they have better lighting. Arrow is grounded and give a grand feeling but they need to stop chopping the scenes too much.
You want me to choose three? That's impossible. There are like 7 on the list and about 10 not on it. I can't do it! But I can choose three shows: Arrow, The Flash and The 100 and honourable mention: Aos.
Well, I loved the fight between Mary-Margaret / David / Regina at the police station under the spell of shattered sight, one of my highlights of season 4A of Once Upon A Time.
Arrow fights are the best and not because I'm biased (which I totally am) but because James Bamford is a freaking genius and the actors execute them so well.
Clarke vs Anya has heavy emotional heft to it, but it is not nearly as spectacular as the sky people vs grounders confrontation.
That being said, my choices would be: -Oberyn vs the mountain: outstanding fight with a very bitter ending. -Arrow vs The Flash: how awesome was that?! -Team Arrow vs Mirakuru army: should have won outstanding coordination emmy for this one.
Honorable mentions: -EVERY fight on Revolution. -The Hound vs Brienne. -May vs May. -Flash vs Reverse Flash -Emily vs Malcom's daughter (the FBI agent... forgot her name).
Should have aired in 2014 Agent Carter would have certainly made the list
I'm sad that I didn't even remember Revolution's fight scenes. They were so good and on par with Arrow's stunt coordination, IMO. They were always good and always brutal.
Other (in no particular order of preference): 1. Arrow: The fight between Oliver and Nyssa (season 2, ep 13), but there are so many great fight scenes in arrow, that it's hard to remember most of them! 2. Game of thrones: Oberyn vs. Mountain and The Battle of Castle Black 3. Revenge: I liked the scene where Emily defended her father in the hospital against the three guys sent by Malcolm Black 4. The Musketeers: Lots of good fight scenes, such as d'Artagnan fighting all three Musketeers in the beginning. However, my personal favorite was in s.1, ep9, where the convent, where Queen Anne is being hidden, gets attacked. The nuns gather in a safe place to pray, but when it becomes clear that the Musketeers are being outnumbered, Mother superior suddenly stops mid-prayer, exclaims "Mother of God!" and grabs a bunch of nuns (and weapons) and joins the Musketeers in battle. 5. Sleepy Hollow: Irving fights War and all of the events surrounding it. 6. Teen Wolf: s3 finale
May vs Agent 33 May May vs Ward Bobbi, Lance, May vs Hydra in the safe house Brienne vs The Hound Red Viper vs The Mountain Kindred vs Headless Horseman - Whatever happened to Kindred?
well yeah, but not everybody watches every show and if you'd consider everything the list would be endless. E.g. I always forget that Revenge has these awsome fights, very well done, better than in AoS imo. But since the show's focuse is drama I forget. I've been trying to finish my poll for Arrow S3 best fight scenes. It is a lot of work and needs time.
That fight between The Grounders and the Sky People on The 100 was epic! That definitely gets my vote. I gave a vote to Clarke vs Anya too, I miss Anya :(
Most Arrow fight scenes are overrated. They use quick cuts, tight shots, and bad lighting to make them look cool. That's reason the fight against Ra's looked so bad: good lighting. Probably the worst use of a stunt double in the last ten years.
AoS fight scenes tend to be way more ambitious. It doesn't always work but at least they aren't afraid of bright lights and wide shots.
Arrow vs Deathstroke and how it parallel to Ollie and Slade's past fight inside Amazo was outstanding. In the latter, present day fight, both of them even started to get winded in the end and that was just spectacular to see as I've always wanted to see people go at it and actually get tired, not like they have 100% stamina until the very end.
Also, the Flash vs Reverse-Flash fight inside the football stadium was amazing. Yes, it's going to be a CG-fest for the most part, but it was awesome to watch.
I agree about quick cuts and lighting. But I am more entertained and thrilled by Arrow stunts than AoS stunts. So it is clearly working for me.
Regarding the Ra's fight when I saw the episode first I did not notice the stunt double. It was in my second viewing that I realized we can see the stunt double's face. Other than that faux pass I really enjoyed the whole stunt.
The May vs May in AoS was such a long stunt. It went on and on. I really liked the stunts in Nikita the best. There was some quality action there.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Oh, I forgot about that intense fight between Clarke and Anya. Definitely on I would pick. But my top pick would be Arrow vs Deathsyroke. The rest of the Arrow, The Flash an The 100 fights all deserve a honorable mention.
ReplyDeleteI would say all of them were pretty good. I refuse to choose :D
ReplyDeleteArrow Vs DeathStroke
ReplyDeleteTeam Arrow/LoA Vs Mirakuru dudes
Flash Vs Arrow
Oh I am so biased :)
Clarke Vs Anya was gritty and really cool. I am not a huge fan of AoS fights. It's okay I guess. I like their character moments more.

My top Arrow:
1) Corto Maltese: Oliver as Diggles Back Up
2) Oliver vs Ra's
3) Arrow vs Deathstroke
Strike Back is dearly missed.
Other - Definitely any fight on Legend of Korra last season.
ReplyDeletehaha even the same word gritty!!!!

ReplyDeleteThe fight between The Hound and Brienne wasn't the greatest but it sure was damn good!
ReplyDeleteAnything on Banshee > Everything else.
ReplyDeleteBut for the sake of the poll.
Other - Lucas Hood vs Chayton
They bring something new to every fight. I especiall loved all the canary fight. Caity Lotz was awesome. It's a shame they are not getting any awards.
ReplyDeleteI agree.
ReplyDeleteI could not choose between the Banshee fights. They're all ranked in my top 5 together. Hood vs Littlestone and Kai are probably two of my favorites.
ReplyDeleteClarke vs Anya has heavy emotional heft to it, but it is not nearly as spectacular as the sky people vs grounders confrontation.

I'm not fight scenes' fan, but I really liked some of them in Bitten.
ReplyDeleteThe fight between Antonio and Terry Egan in Chicago PD.
ReplyDeleteOliver vs Ra's Al Ghul.
ReplyDeleteWasn't The Flash vs. Arrow fight on the Flashs side of the crossover not Arrows?
ReplyDeleteYou're right it was.
ReplyDeleteClearly the poll was submitted by an Arrow fan and it was a subconscious typo :)
ReplyDeleteHannibal vs Jack - Hannibal S2 Finale
ReplyDeleteNo revenge?! No emily thorne fights?!
ReplyDeleteYeah the chopping is why AoS stunts seem more impressiv at First glance.
ReplyDeleteWhile there were some awesome fights listed (May vs Ward, Clarke vs Anya), May vs May, Hound vs Brienne, and Arrow vs Deathstroke were my favorites.
ReplyDelete1. Arrow
ReplyDelete2. Arrow
3. Arrow
Other:
ReplyDeleteEmily vs Kate (Revenge)
Emily vs Henchman (Revenge)
Emily and Kate in winter finale of Revenge...
ReplyDeleteI don't watch Revenge so I have no idea about its fight scenes.
ReplyDeleteI'm sad that I didn't even remember Revolution's fight scenes. They were so good and on par with Arrow's stunt coordination, IMO. They were always good and always brutal.
ReplyDeleteYes it was and clearly by my avatar, you see where my mind was. The two go hand in hand for me.
ReplyDeleteOther (in no particular order of preference):
ReplyDelete1. Arrow: The fight between Oliver and Nyssa (season 2, ep 13), but there are so many great fight scenes in arrow, that it's hard to remember most of them!

6. Teen Wolf: s3 finale
I loved all the action sequences of Arrow & GoT.
ReplyDeleteMay vs Agent 33 May
ReplyDeleteMay vs Ward
Bobbi, Lance, May vs Hydra in the safe house
Brienne vs The Hound
Red Viper vs The Mountain
Kindred vs Headless Horseman - Whatever happened to Kindred?
Yeah i assumed. Sorry :(
ReplyDeleteTotally agree, that was epic!
ReplyDeleteThat fighting scene in the hospital was cool and emily vs Kate was great. Next week it will be Emily vs Malcolm
ReplyDeleteNo Ra's vs Oliver? Surprising.
ReplyDeleteI also loved David's Clarke's reaction to seeing her fight.
ReplyDeleteI went with May V May, Arrow V Deathstroke and Team Arrow + League Vs Slades Army. I think the the last one may be my favourite though.
ReplyDeleteIt's hard to object to that.
ReplyDeleteYes!!! She was so bad @$$
ReplyDeleteEvery single one in Revolution?
ReplyDeleteJack vs. Hannibal in one of the greatest hours of television ever?
Other:
ReplyDeleteEmily vs. Kate (Revenge) that was epic and intense!
Um... Oliver VS Ras'al Gul. How was that left out of the survey?!?!?
ReplyDeleteSo many great TV fights left out of this survey, right?
ReplyDeleteArrow vs deathstroke for sure
ReplyDeletewell yeah, but not everybody watches every show and if you'd consider everything the list would be endless. E.g. ReplyDeleteshame on me, how could I forget. Revenge has better fights than some action shows.
ReplyDeletecan't blame you
ReplyDeleteit's a user submitted poll.
ReplyDeleteAgreed any next week emily vs Malcolm
ReplyDeleteAre you serious or is this sarcasm?
ReplyDeleteThat's why there is the "Other" option. I only post what I watch. How/why would I add something that I've never seen?
ReplyDeleteserious. I truly believe that those fight scenes is something a lot of shows who categorize action shows can't be measured with.
ReplyDeleteThat fight between The Grounders and the Sky People on The 100 was epic! That definitely gets my vote. I gave a vote to Clarke vs Anya too, I miss Anya :(
ReplyDeleteOh okay great to hear :) I agree and i hate it when people describe it to only be a soap opera
ReplyDeleteDefinitely Hannibal and Jack's fight on "Hannibal".
ReplyDeleteClarke and Anya! I was in shock by how amazing it was. I wasn't expecting it at all.
ReplyDeleteI saw that IGN had it on their best fights of 2014. :)
I think Rossi punching the guy in the face in The Itch was pretty awesome.
ReplyDeleteBecause I didn't think it was one of the greatest. Other is your choice.
ReplyDeleteHopefully he goes down like his daughter!
ReplyDeleteRevolution :''(

Seriously the ones in Revolution were all so well done I don't remember any specifically.
ReplyDeleteArrow vs Deathstroke and how it parallel to Ollie and Slade's past fight inside Amazo was outstanding. The Viper VS The Mountain!!
ReplyDeleteFlash v Arrow
ReplyDeleteDemon Dean v Cole
Demon Dean v Sam
I don't think he will be going sp fast
ReplyDeleteI agree about quick cuts and lighting. But I am more entertained and thrilled by Arrow stunts than AoS stunts. So it is clearly working for me.

I did enjoy the Clarke Griffin and Anya fight scene on The 100! Badass ladies :)
ReplyDeleteBoth Shield fights
ReplyDeleteMay v Ward was EPIC!
ReplyDeletePlease!! Emily vs Kate from Revenge episode 4x10

ReplyDeleteI rewatched it 1000 times
ReplyDeleteAgent Mays fight are always the best. She can kick some ass. And Flash vs Arrow was just spectacular
ReplyDeleteAgreed
ReplyDeleteFelicity vs. her jerk ex-con boyfriend... She kicked some serious ass. :)
ReplyDeleteThere's only one explanation why GOT is not on top, people here don't watch it.
ReplyDelete
