for me i liked the Pan season because they made one of the most fun disney heroes into a villain and did it very well and cast a very good actor, but i stopped seeing the Oz part because of what they did to Neal
I think 2B was worse than 3A. Do you remember Greg and Tamara and "the Office"? That storyline made no sense. In contrast to this in 3A made sense. What I liked about 3A is that it introduced much more humor into OUAT. Eg. "The "s" word."
It's almost the same to me but I am not sure because even bad half seasons had their good moments. It's like this to me: - Season 1 / Season 3B (Both were great and too different to compare) - Season 3A / Season 2A (The plot in 2A was more interesting but 3A has the best ending when they break the curse and destroy Storybrook) - A very big gap - Season 4A / Season 2B (Both half seasons felt awkward. I liked in season 2B that Snow was conflicted because she murdered Cora but other than that I only say Greg and Tamara. Season 4A was sadly very weak. Although the Frozen plot was nice and the actors (especially Anna) were spot on, the whole concept interrupted the character buildling the show normally had. Two good things can make a wrong. Those scenes which were really good were character building (cf. Snow and Regina talking, Regina and Robin being very passionate etc.). )
Love season 1 because we were learning who everyone was and season 3 part B also season 4 part A wish they did what was your favorite episodes of each season
There was no season 2B. I agree that the last 5 episodes of the season were disappointing but I remember very good episodes with the Cora story in the middle of the season.
Season 1 is still my favorite, always! What a pleasure to discover the first curse and all these amazing characters through Emma's eyes! :) Season 2 was a little confused, but I loved it anyway and magic came back to push some characters development!
Also loved dark Neverland in Season 3 AND the Wicked Witch part... for me the whole season was all about making peace with their past and really choose a home, a path, not only for Emma but also for Regina, The Charmings, Rumple...
Season 4 started amazingly with The (wonderful Elizabeth Mitchell) Snow Queen, perfect Ana and Elsa from Frozen, Rumpletilskin choosing the dark path again, Belle kicking his butt for once... but now I miss the secondary characters from season 1 and I would like to see ...well, what they use to do all day long in this town, despite the early visit from the Queens of Darkness & Mr Gold.
Please stop divising season 2 as season 2A and season 2B. For me, there was three parts : 2A : Wonderland 2B : Cora in Storybrooke (awesome) 2C : Owen and Tamara (lame)
S1 was the best, because I loved so much Storybrooke and Enchanted Forest. And I'm glad they want go back "to the roots" in S4B, hope it's true. "Then" I choose S4A
It wasn't as clear as in Seasons 3 and 4 but I consider 2A to be the time in which Emma and MM are in the Enchasted Forest, and prior to the arrival of Hook and Cora to Storybrook. I really enjoyed that part of the season whereas afterwards everything went downhill
How can you be so sure? The last 6 episodes introduced a whole other storyline. Just because there were only 6 episodes instead of 10 or 11 it does not mean it cannot be qualified as half season to me. But you're right the Cora plot was very nice - "Bleeding Through" will always be one of my favorite episodes. Maybe we could agree that only the Greg and Tamara disaster was worse than 3A. (Sorry but I neeeeeed to distinguish those plot lines in season 2.) We seem to be on the same page there.
Haven't seen much of TWD but any role is more promising than Tamara. :D Did you get why she hated magic and therefore wanted to blow up Storybrook? I didn't. The girl had to have a reason to be homocidal...
Season 1 and season 3 were the best for me. Season 4a was a disaster as far as our main charcters. The frozen storyline took over way too much and we saw only bits and pieces of some of our core main characters and those bits and pieces were out of character for me. And we saw little of the secondary characters like granny, etc. I don't want to see the Villians dominate the stories. I want to see the main characters dominate and the Villians be woven into, their stories, which for me did not happen in 4a. It did in season 3. I feel like they have moved away from what the theme of the show is and that is true love and happy endings to give us more and more Villians. I don't want to see the true love couples getting together then breaking up then getting together- it just isn't true love to me and I really just want to go back to the continued development of the main characters, like we saw in season 1. . They have grown for sure but it seems like now each arc is definitely more about the Villians than it is about the main characters. I know that we can see better because we have in seasons past. I don't want hurried and drawn out stories to just fill episodes or give a character something to do. I do enjoy this show but feel it's lost it's way and I want it to find it's way back what the show is truly about- happy endings, not just defeating the Villians and the curses.
Season 1 for sure was the best one. It was the most consistent season from OUAT. Season 3 had its good times, but the Peter Pan's arc from the A part was completely overwhelming.
3A might have been a bit boring at times but never forget that it's in this half season that we got one of the best episodes ever: "Going Home." That alone redeems it in my eyes. 3B was crap. I haven't even watched 4A because it seemed even worse.
Season 1. It was so refreshing to see all the twists, character exploration and had so much promising for a great story ( which failed to deliver now). back then they wrote plot to the characters & now they try to fit characters to the plot which makes ooc & lose the flow of the story. now its all about recycling plots, rectons, plot holes and cash cows.
I'm surprised season 1 is so popular here. I know people like meeting all the new characters and their backstories, but IMHO it was rather unambitious and bordering on procedural. I liked an idea here to divide Season 2 into 2A (Enchanted Forest), 2B (Cora in Storybrooke), and 2C (Greg and Tamara).
Season 3B Season 2B, the middle third (2.10 - 2.17) * Season 4A Season 2A, the first third (2.01 - 2.09) * Season 1 * Season 3A, even though Going Home was amazing I'm counting it as part of 3B * Season 2C, the last third (2.18 - 2.22)
Season 2 episodes was great - but some episodes were not (i found the middle episode very lacking and off balance and it got better and on track near the last few episodes at the end). Love the introduction of Captain Hook and Emma/Hook groundwork.
I enjoyed Season 3 - as two halves and more character developments and couples.
I like Season 4A, to finally focus more on Emma and her healing...
Season 4A was disappointing. Although I do not think it was because the villians dominated the story. Until Ingrid's ending I thought her to be shallow. Her story was interwined with Emma's which made it at least a little bit interesting. The biggest problem were the Frozen flashbacks. They took sooooooo many time and there was no character building. The things we knew about Anna and Elsa from the movie were the same. The plot was leading towards how Elsa got into the urn, which was boring because it was very obvious from the start. There was no suspense. Remember when Zelena fooled Dorothy into believing she killed her with the bucket of water? That was a great scene because it is common knowledge that in the story the Wicked Witch of the West is defeated this way. For a moment the show managed to fool the recipient.
For the rest I feel the same. The plot feels hurried without the original depth it had. I was a little disappointed that they showed so little from the missing year. It had so much potential for the characters. Although I don't believe a character orientated show like season 1 with a focus on one character in one episode is not possible anymore. It would totally stagnate the plot. I don't see the fans being happy with just an overall plot plus flashbacks in the past.
I did like the scene with Zelena and Dorothy. And you are right the frozen flashbacks took a lot of screen time that could have been used to tell more stories about the regular characters. I thought some of the connections were weak and just a means of somehow having some of the characters part of the arc. I am a little apprehensive about the next arc. Four Villians but still more about the regular charcters? We have heard that before! I don't want to see anther couple, break up, especially one that is just getting started.I see what you mean about not being able to go back to how season 1 was told. I am okay with a villain but not when it is about how the main characters fit into the villain and past. It needs to be about the main characters and how that villian fits into their past.
You're right, the connection between Frozen and the main characters was really lacking. Before new characters supported the character core, in 4A it was the other way around. Even the motivation of the Snow Queen was totally strange. After her flashback I asked myself, 'what's her problem?'. I mean, she must have known her sisters loved her. Zelena was a little bit overdramatic but I loved her passion and I could understand her motive. I really don't know what to expect of the next half. Maleficient is going to have many connections to the regulars but I would have preferred if they would have made her the villain for her own half season. Right now it seems like they are going to be "Rumpelstilskin's Angels" with Cruella as the nice-to-look-at sassy one, Maleficient as the interesting one and Ursula as ... - I don't now, for the ratings maybe...? As for the pairings you're right too. I thought, the way Rumple behaved and treated Belle, it was good for her to make him leave but I seriously did not understand why they had to make Robin leave. I'm not saying this because I like OutlawQueen but also because it felt soooo forced. Marian was showing so much growth and then she was again in the role of the obstacle in R&R's relationship just after they all decided to be a modern patchwork family. Snow and Charming had to fight a long time to be with each other but those obstacles all made sense and it fit in the overall plot. We still don't know why the Snow Queen froze Marian, other than making an appearance. We have to hope that 4B will be more centered around the regulars via introducing interesting new characters like it once did. ;-)
I get goose bumbs every time I think about "Going Home". It was their best "finale" although it was just a half season. You can try and watch 4A although I would not recommend it to you. I really like this show but I am glad that Frozen is over and done.
Season 1 was the best & most consistently written season. Season 2 had some great episodes, but others were infuriatingly repetitive, lame or simply dull. Season 3 was 'meh', and I'm so indifferent to the show at this point that I can't even bring myself to watch Season 4. Such a shame, I used to be so passionate about OUAT, and it still has a great cast.
It's a messy show all around, but at lest S1 had some (relative consistency as opposed to the other seasons) and showed some promise. S2 as a runner up (it was super inconsistent, but still had some few decent moments)
My favorite season are 3 and 4a but not season 1. I don't know why...Season 1 was like other story, maybe like introdaction and it's cool. But I really like characters' evolution right now. Whom they became (except Rumple storyline in 4a season)
I voted 4A as I really liked how much we delved into Emmas past with Ingrid and the Frozen arc was good just wasn't very keen on Anna, also have loved all the of the CaptainSwan and OutlawQueen. But S1 was great it was MUCH better than S2 AND 3 combined the best part of S3 IMO was the finale.
The first part of S3 was good Pan was one of those love to hate characters like Rumplestiltskin was to begin with, but the second part not so much. TWW was good but I think it was too much in one season.
I couldn't stand Tamara and Greg SO ANNOYING - I think now looking back on it S2 was probably the worst season - the only good thing was getting Hook on the show.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Too bad there's no distinction between Season 3A and Season 3B.
ReplyDeletewhat do you mean?
ReplyDelete3A - Peter Pan story
ReplyDelete3B - Wizard of Oz Story
Season 4
ReplyDeleteSeason 1 hands down. It was all about discovering these amazing characters.
ReplyDeleteSeason 3A.
ReplyDeleteOr 3A boring!!!!! and 3B really good
ReplyDeleteoh they didn't A or B in season 3 on the poll rught
ReplyDeleteBoth parts of the season were very different. Quality also.
ReplyDeleteAre you serious ? It was the worse.
ReplyDeletefor me i liked the Pan season because they made one of the most fun disney heroes into a villain and did it very well and cast a very good actor, but i stopped seeing the Oz part because of what they did to Neal
ReplyDeletethat makes sense and we had a buttload of Henry and Emma scenes unlike the seasons that follow
ReplyDeleteOf course Season 1!
ReplyDeleteAlways!
Definitely 1 for me.
ReplyDeleteProbably something like this for me:
ReplyDelete- Season 3B
- Season 1
- Season 3A
- Season 2A
- Season 4A
- ...... (Big Gap)
- Season 2B
Season 1. And 3B just because of Robin and Regina.
ReplyDeleteI voted for season 1. My ranking would be:
ReplyDeleteSeason 1
Season 3B
Season 2
Season 3A
Season 4A
3A was so painful to watch. It was so boring the whole Peter Pan crap.
ReplyDeleteSeason 1 by a large margin.
ReplyDeleteFor me in order:
ReplyDelete-Season 1
-Season 4A
-Season 2A
-Season 3B
-Season 3A
-Season 2B.
Season 1 followed very closely by 4A.
ReplyDeleteI think 2B was worse than 3A. Do you remember Greg and Tamara and "the Office"? That storyline made no sense. In contrast to this in 3A made sense. What I liked about 3A is that it introduced much more humor into OUAT. Eg. "The "s" word."
ReplyDeleteExactly lol that whole storyline was terrible... Thankfully Tamara is now known as bada** Sasha on TWD
ReplyDeleteFor me:
ReplyDelete3B
4B (I'm probably gonna love it as its my three favorite villains)
4A
3A
Season 1 and 2 are hard to choose between
It's almost the same to me but I am not sure because even bad half seasons had their good moments. It's like this to me:
ReplyDelete- Season 1 / Season 3B (Both were great and too different to compare)

ReplyDeleteFor me, there was three parts :
2A : Wonderland
2B : Cora in Storybrooke (awesome)
2C : Owen and Tamara (lame)
I couldn't agree more with you about Cora (always awesome) and Owen, Tamara but 2A is Neverland's journey. ;)
ReplyDeleteSeason 1 was magical and probably the best but I prefer the characters knowing who they are in the later seasons. I voted for 4A.
ReplyDeleteFor me it goes:
ReplyDelete4A
3B
2A
1
3A
2B
Season 2 because of"The Evil Queen".
ReplyDeleteS1 was the best, because I loved so much Storybrooke and Enchanted Forest. And I'm glad they want go back "to the roots" in S4B, hope it's true.

"The Queen is dead. Long live the Evil Queen." ^^ A beautiful and very sad episode. Season 2 really had killer episodes.
ReplyDeleteS1 that's when charming and snow were my favorite among the couples.
ReplyDeleteSeason 1
ReplyDeleteSeason 2A
Season 3B
Season 4A
Season 3A
Season 2B
All of them.
ReplyDeleteSeason 1 and season 3 were the best for me. Season 4a was a disaster as far as our main charcters. Season 1>Season 4A>Season 2>Season 3B>Season 3A IMO.
ReplyDelete-Season 3;
ReplyDelete-Season 2;
-Season 1 ( a beautiful season, but too slow in my opinion ):
-Season 4 not watched yet.
Season 4A>Season 3>Season 2>Season 1
ReplyDeleteSeason 4A>Season 1>Season 3B>Season 2 >>>>> Season 3A.
ReplyDeletewatch Once because of Frozen arc and it's my favourite, love Snow Queen's storyline:)
4a
ReplyDelete3b
S1
S2/3a
SAME
ReplyDelete3A might have been a bit boring at times but never forget that it's in this half season that we got one of the best episodes ever: "Going Home."

ReplyDeleteOne and S3B
ReplyDeleteEasy choice, season 1.
ReplyDeleteSeason 1 and Season 2A
ReplyDelete4A and 3 all
ReplyDeleteSeason 1 is my all time favorite closely followed by Season 4A.
ReplyDeleteSeason 1, no doubt. And then 4A.
ReplyDeleteI hate when they're in storybrook so 3A all the way for me
ReplyDeleteSeason 1 definitely.
ReplyDeleteThe first season was probably the best. I also liked some aspects of season 3B.
ReplyDeleteWait, what? But Neverland was in Season 3.
ReplyDeleteI'd say Season 2 and 3A, but only because my favourite Neal was in it. Generally I didn't like any of the seasons.
ReplyDeleteSeason 1 is by far the strongest followed by the first half of Season 2. The first half of Season 4 was brilliant too, a huge step up from Season 3.
ReplyDeleteI'm surprised season 1 is so popular here. I know people like meeting all the new characters and their backstories, but IMHO it was rather unambitious and bordering on procedural. I liked an idea here to divide Season 2 into 2A (Enchanted Forest), 2B (Cora in Storybrooke), and 2C (Greg and Tamara).
ReplyDeleteSeason 3B
Season 2B, the middle third (2.10 - 2.17)
*
Season 4A
Season 2A, the first third (2.01 - 2.09)
*
Season 1
*
Season 3A, even though Going Home was amazing I'm counting it as part of 3B
*
Season 2C, the last third (2.18 - 2.22)
Season 1 will always be special
ReplyDeleteSeason 2 episodes was great - but some episodes were not (i found the middle episode very lacking and off balance and it got better and on track near the last few episodes at the end). Love the introduction of Captain Hook and Emma/Hook groundwork.
I enjoyed Season 3 - as two halves and more character developments and couples.
I like Season 4A, to finally focus more on Emma and her healing...
Yep my bad! I meant The Enchanted Forest lol
ReplyDeleteWould vote 3B but since they grouped it, defiantly season 1.
ReplyDeleteseason 3>season 4a>season 1>season 2
ReplyDeleteSeason 1 by a giant's leap. Every single episode was captivating, hooking me into the show. Season SB was my next favorite, mostly due to Zelena.
ReplyDeleteSeason 4A was disappointing. Although I do not think it was because the villians dominated the story. Until Ingrid's ending I thought her to be shallow. Her story was interwined with Emma's which made it at least a little bit interesting. The biggest problem were the Frozen flashbacks. They took sooooooo many time and there was no character building. Season 1
ReplyDeleteSeason 3B
Season 4A
Season 2A
Season 3A
Season 2B
Best so far was the complete 1st season.
ReplyDeleteThen for me its this ranking:
2A Enchanted Forest + Cora in Storybrooke
3B Zelena Arc
4A Frozen Arc
3A Neverland Arc
2B Greg + Tamara Arc
I did like the scene with Zelena and Dorothy. And you are right the frozen flashbacks took a lot of screen time that could have been used to tell more stories about the regular characters. I thought some of the connections were weak and just a means of somehow having some of the characters part of the arc. I am a little apprehensive about the next arc. We have to hope that 4B will be more centered around the regulars via introducing interesting new characters like it once did. ;-)
I get goose bumbs every time I think about "Going Home". It was their best "finale" although it was just a half season.
ReplyDeleteYou can try and watch 4A although I would not recommend it to you. I really like this show but I am glad that Frozen is over and done.

It's a messy show all around, but at lest S1 had some (relative consistency as opposed to the other seasons) and showed some promise.
ReplyDeleteS2 as a runner up (it was super inconsistent, but still had some few decent moments)
But it is a pretty awful show...
My favorite season are 3 and 4a but not season 1. I don't know why...Season 1 was like other story, maybe like introdaction and it's cool. But I really like characters' evolution right now. Whom they became (except Rumple storyline in 4a season)
ReplyDeleteJudging by all these comments, I feel like the only person who actually liked 3A
ReplyDeleteI voted 4A as I really liked how much we delved into Emmas past with Ingrid and the Frozen arc was good just wasn't very keen on Anna, also have loved all the of the CaptainSwan and OutlawQueen.

5. S2
The best part of S2 was getting Hook on the show otherwise not so good.
