Relative newcomer Ross Marquand will join the zombie drama based on Robert Kirkman's long-running comics, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
Marquand's character will be introduced in the second half of the show's fifth season and be a series regular — with the likelihood to serve in the same capacity in the already announced sixth season.
While details on just which character Marquand is playing are being kept under wraps, Kirkman previously noted on Talking Dead that a "prominent" gay character from his comics would be introduced in the second half of season five.

ReplyDeleteCurious to see what this new character is like. However, please don't bring in another Priest Gabriel-like character.
ReplyDeleteWait, if anyone should be made into a series regular right now, shouldn't it be Morgan?
ReplyDeleteI really hope not. These characters aren't adding a thing to the story. I need more screen time for what's left of our originals.
ReplyDeleteRight! Unless he is going to do a spin off. Just hoping.
ReplyDeleteAgreed!
ReplyDeleteSeriously though when the hell is Morgan going to join them.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I agree about Morgan. Although I'm confused about what exactly is going on with him. Was he actually tracking Rick, but just kept missing him or was he basically walking around by himself, eventually found and followed a trail, and at the end realized it was Rick's trail?
ReplyDeleteHe was just following random trails. Evidently, it was ones that were left by Gareth as guides around Terminus and the surrounding areas. It wasn't until he found the map to D.C. at the church that Morgan realized he was on Rick's tail. However, Morgan still appears to be at a minimum of a few weeks behind Rick's group.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't expect Morgan to actually catch up to our group until either the S5 finale, or the S6 premiere.
Michael Traynor has already been cast as Aaron, and I forget who was cast as Eric, but it wasn't this guy.
ReplyDeleteMy guess is he'll be playing Spencer Monroe, who's a fun, but slightly antagonist, secondary character.
Just for clarification... Aaron and Eric are a gay couple, and probably who Kirkman was referring to on Talking Dead as appearing in the second half of the season. The two of them appear in the comics very shortly after the Hunters arc.
ReplyDeleteHe will get spinoff Never ending story of following Rick Grimes
ReplyDeleteNope, TV Line just confirmed that Marquand will be playing Aaron. Where did you get that Michael Traynor would be playing him?
ReplyDeleteHe's officially Aaron y'all, according to TV Line ;)

Just re-checked some spoiler sites where I'd heard Traynor would be playing Aaron, and it was just speculation. My fault for jumping to confirmation from there.
