"We're actually saying goodbye to one of our characters in the 14th episode," executive producer Julie Plec tellsb TVGuide.com. "[Jeremy] is going to art school. We'll see what his next path and journey is, [but Steven R. McQueen] is all grown-up and ready to move on, so we're saying goodbye to him as a series regular. We got him a cake and dressed as superheroes and gave him a big party!" Plec adds about the sendoff.

Finally! Sadly I have to say finally.
ReplyDeleteSteven had a good story till mid-season 3 but now he is just annoying!
I wish Steven best of luck!
Well, I didn´t expect him to leave. I guess he had enough of this show :D
ReplyDeleteA very wise decision.
ReplyDeleteSomewhere someone probably cares
ReplyDeleteHis character is pointless recently so we probably won't even notice
ReplyDeleteGood for you Steven :P lmao
ReplyDeleteNo one cares darling!Bye bye!Your character was good for nothing!
ReplyDeleteJeremy is going to die and I will be resurrected in season 11.
ReplyDeleteSo...did he get that Nightwing casting he wanted?
ReplyDeleteHe was never gonna get that,no offense. He's such a bad actor.Only muscles can take u so far!LOL!
ReplyDeleteIf I was him I'd leave too, he must be really bored of the show.
ReplyDeleteThat's the strange part no casting has been announced yet and it been mons since we found out it gonna happen Titan lol
ReplyDeleteYes, good, Steven, stop wasting yourself on this show.
ReplyDeleteHe would be perfect to play corps on iZombie.
ReplyDeleteI would like to see him in of the HBO shows. The reason is quite evident.
ReplyDeleteGood, just don't add another useless character to the main cast now.
ReplyDeleteI thought TVD should have done this with Trevino awhile ago but this is still progress.
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty sure Chris wood would take his place-Mark my words!
ReplyDeleteThat's what I was wondering. He wants to be on one of the superhero shows, badly.
ReplyDeleteyeh, they more or less ruined him in the originals crossover, and he could of stayed dead.
ReplyDeleteWell Steven is the one who left. It's not like they fired him. I doubt they'll get rid of any of the character's unless they want to go sadly lol.
ReplyDeleteHis tweets are ridiculous. It's borderline pathetic.
ReplyDeleteThat i completely agree with.
ReplyDeleteI get that. It doesn't matter to me whose decision it was, I'm just happy to see TVD excise some dead weight.
ReplyDeleteI hope you're right. Kai is the only reason I'm still watching. Such a breath of fresh air.
ReplyDeleteEh. The damage was done before then. I won't hold that against the character though. Over the course of 5.5 seasons, there's been damage to all the main characters in some way or another. My wish to see him gone has stemmed from the fact that his character has simply run his course. TVD ran out of any compelling reasons to keep him around.
ReplyDeleteIt's pretty funny that everyone who dies on this show comes back at some point, but the ONE character that's actually being written off is going to art school.
ReplyDeleteMy God! More excellent news from the CW. Best decision they have made for TVD in quite a while. Hopefully he takes Tyler with him and they both fall off the face of the earth (literally, like down a well somewhere).
ReplyDeleteI'm sad he's leaving, I guess I'm in the minority that liked him.
ReplyDeleteThey are shooting for episode 16 now.I guess he makes it out somehow.Stranger things have happened on this show!
ReplyDeleteI didn't dislike him. I liked him in the first 3 seasons. His character was getting increasingly unimportant though.
ReplyDeleteI agree with ore.Post the hunter storyline,he has had nothing to do on this show other than to show off his well physique & whine endlessly.
ReplyDeleteHonestly, I'm not surprised. Tyler (Michael) should be the next to go b/c his character is pointless due to him choosing a girl who knows for like 5 seconds over people he has known his whole life. Bonnie could have been back episodes ago but he ruined that.
ReplyDeleteTyler should've died last season IMO.
ReplyDeleteYou know who they'll add now, don't you?
ReplyDeleteSteven was wasting his time in that tv show. Jeremy is an useless character and writers didn't know what to do with him anymore. Please, tell me that Trevino is the next one...
ReplyDeleteand next,matt after that.
ReplyDeleteGonna miss him a little bit, never cared for him, but I´m intrigued to know what Bonnie´s storyline will be when she gets back now that Jeremy will leave
ReplyDeleteSo I'm guessing Bonnie will be back in episode 13. I can't imagine they'll send him off without wrapping up their relationship.
ReplyDeleteI honestly think he is going to be in arrow because he is leaving TVD and they dressed up as superheros?? What do you guys think?
ReplyDeleteYa,bonnie will be back in that episode. And julie has confirmed she will dump for good and he will join an arts college someplace far from mystic falls trying to move on.
ReplyDeleteKai is a run of the mill, two dimensional psycho. The reason for his longevity is simply to stick around long enough for Bonnie to take him down. Keeping him around for anything beyond that would be a big mistake.
ReplyDeleteYou're so right. I can't stand Tyler and his romantic outburst with Liv.
ReplyDeleteArrow execs would never hire him,he's such a bad actor.Arrow doesn't need that,i'm sure.
ReplyDeleteIn that case, stupid idea to leave the show that makes you eat everyday, I´ll never understand actors.
ReplyDeleteI don't mind him and Liv. I don't even really mind him as a character. I mind that he lacks purpose. He's just a space-filler. The episode where he chose to chase Klaus instead of staying in Mystic Falls with Caroline should have been his very last episode on TVD. Klaus should have killed him in the woods on The Originals. It would have been a natural end to the character.
ReplyDeleteHe's still around for episode 16.Plus julie's obssesion is gradually growing with him too, plus nina is dating him currently, plus caroline & julie clearly digs this crazy psycho murdereous vibe(Cough-enzo,klaus Cough)-He's golden.
ReplyDeleteAs someone said once, confidence is great, but over-confidence is deadly.
ReplyDeleteHe was pointless on the show and was probably tired of it. He might have gotten another role on a different show.
ReplyDeleteNot a single one of those reasons are good for the show.
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen TVD for a while now, but hasn't jeremy already died and been written out multiple times?
ReplyDeleteI guess s6 will be the last season. Bonnie is alone now and she might steal Damon from Elena :P sad. But could happen... :/. Just hope Elena finds a new boyfriend if no Delena :'(. & Hope the season has no cliffhanger if it'll end. It'd better end because rumor has it Ian won't be in s7 if it goes on. There's no TVD without Damon...
ReplyDeleteThat I understand, if he got another job, because his character was pretty useless.
ReplyDeleteYASSS, they should've never bring him back!
ReplyDeleteIts been renewed for a 7th season
ReplyDeleteHe came back every single time.LOL!
ReplyDeleteWhy did they start caring about that?LOL!
ReplyDeleteWhile I am not a fan of Delena, I'm sure the writers are more obsessed with them than the fans so seems unlikely unless one of those two actors makes a push for Delena to end I think. It was just renewed though. But I guess the show will conceivably go on until the main three are not interested, even though Stefan is almost another useless character now as well.
ReplyDeleteStefan is now a doormat character playing matchmaker to delena!
ReplyDeleteThey've made his character so pointless sometimes I forget he's still around. Good for him. The actor deserves to move onto better things.
ReplyDeleteMatt should just get a storyline. The characters has had nothing to do since season 2.
ReplyDeleteAt least Jeremy and Tyler have had some storylines these last few seasons. Matt's just... there.
well Ian posted on twitter awhile ago he wanted to quit. But I wonder how TVD can go on without Damon
ReplyDeleteUmm, it was renewed for season seven today
ReplyDeletegreat. now bring back Katherine!!
ReplyDeletethanks I've read now. Damon could still leave but how can the show live then?
ReplyDeleteAs OTH lived without lucas and payton for 3 years!
ReplyDeleteI follow ian's twitter feed,he never said that.He said this might end up being the final season for all of us in an interview.
ReplyDeleteWell he is a CW actor that has to count for something if not arrow or flash je is definitely going to pursue his dream of becoming a superhero (that sounds funny and weird as I'm writing it). Maybe get acting lessons from a real professional?
ReplyDeleteSo true.
ReplyDeletePoint taken.
ReplyDeleteI agree on the acting lessons part.If stephen can do so well from that kind of acting in season 1,no offense to any fans,so can he if he tries sincerely!
ReplyDeleteJUlie & caroline have confirmed she will never come back & considering how nina is the one who plays both these characters,i don't reckon how steven's quit would help change that decision now.
ReplyDeleteI'm OK wtih the Kai character as long as he stays a villain and they don't start shipping him with Elena, Bonnie or Caroline. The Klaus and Enzo ships are bad enough.
ReplyDeleteMaybe now that Steven is leaving The Vampire Diaries he can live out his Nightwing 'fantasy' finally.
ReplyDeletea) on "Gotham" as the rumored father of Dick Grayson aka Robin set to appear with his wife this season as circus acrobats.
or
b) maybe the new spin-off show coming to the CW will actually be "Nightwing" staring Steven !!
Idk, I wouldn't watch with all three leads
ReplyDeleteAnd fans hated those season & the new characters and ratings fell significtlly
ReplyDeleteThat was such a wasted moment on The Originals. It was like his only purpose was to go info dump to Hayley about her child's blood. The fact that he got run out in a matter of 2 seconds was pathetic. Tyler and Matt between them couldn't make 1/4 of a storyline.
ReplyDeleteWonder how long it will stick!
ReplyDeleteAgreed and that goes for Matt too. All he does is complain about things, feel sorry for himself, and make bad decisions.
ReplyDeleteI like Tyler. I think the writers have been giving him a bad storyline and have made him the victim too many times (which on the CW seems to garner more dislike than sympathy), but I really liked what he and Caroline had together until it was ruined possibly to ship Klaroline. I can't blame him for what transpired between him and Caroline, because I think that at some point in their relationship, it was clear that Caroline wasn't really on his side. I'm actually more annoyed with how he is handling the Liv/Kai/Bonnie situation. However, I fell like his character has been so unpopular among the more vocal fans that he'll never get a decent story anymore, so putting him out of his misery might not be such a bad thing.
ReplyDeleteI can't say about others, but i personally liked season 7 more than season 6.I loved clay & quinn from the beginning.Anyway,i binge watched the show in 2 months,so i wasn't aware of this hatred you're speaking of.
ReplyDeleteI don't mind Tyler either but his character has been completely aimless since the second half of season four. If they can't find a way to make him a more integral part of the show then keeping him around isn't a good idea.
ReplyDeleteGavin,it's for good.
ReplyDeleteExactly. Plec treats characters based on how much she likes the actors, which is why Joseph Morgan's character was not killed off even though it was the original plan. It's why meaningless annoying characters like Enzo get more screentime than they merit and it's why Paul Wesley has been demoted to a secondary character. At this point, Kai is just a British accent away from getting hired as a series regular or getting his own spin-off.
ReplyDeleteFine by me. Poor Bonny although she is better off anyway
ReplyDeleteWow, I didn't see that coming. (his departure as a regular) i I mean honestly, I thought Michael would be gone before Steven would.
ReplyDeleteBut that's basically been the writer's choice to treat their characters like punching bags, when they could do so much more with them. Especially Tyler, who had tons of promise in the earlier seasons.. It's like when everyone hated Bonnie in seasons 3-5 because they thought her character was so useless, and now with this season, she's gained more relevance. I'm not a huge Matt fan, but It think they could have developed something better with Matt this season. He seemed to have great chemistry with the fake Sara, but they went nowhere with that either. It's like Luke's character, who has potential and they ignore it.
ReplyDeleteI actually find Alaric the most dispensable, because aside from a bromance with Damon and a snoozeworthy relationship with Jo, he brings very little to the plot. He wasn't even interesting as an original vampire.
If izombie gets picked up, he might make a terrific zombie.
ReplyDeleteMatt, Tyler and Jeremy are the useless trio
ReplyDeleteTrue...for a while I kept hoping that they'd do something better with him, especially bringing on Liv, but the last two episodes changed my mind. I would love to see him do some damage to Klaus or Haley before they kill him off, but I suspect that's an unpopular opinion!
ReplyDeleteI guess that's the main reason I don't like Tyler (plus I think he is a terrible actor). His entire revenge arc could have been interesting if the writers had bothered to make it believable, but instead they decided to throw Tyler the idiot ball and have him run headlong at Klaus with a very inane plan (go into Klaus backyard and try to recruit people to kill his child? Yeah, that would ever work. It's not like Klaus is intelligent or anything /s).
ReplyDeleteMatt could be interesting, but I have a hard time envisioning any storyline they could give him at this point. He is surrounded by pretty much all supernatural people who are vastly more powerful that him. There is little in the way of anything damaging to anyone he could accomplish. I think the writers frankly kind of forgot about his character and now they really have to clue how to utilize him, aside from providing some info exposition in between whining fits, much like Jeremy's character was reduced to.
I have to agree about Alaric. He is Damon's perpetual wingman, nothing more. And he was one hell of a boring vampire.
Honestly, good for him!
ReplyDeleteYes, I thought it was kind of odd that he didn't even try to do anything about saving Bonnie after finding out that she was alive. Instead he just sulked and got angry when Damon and Elena couldn't get her out. That would have actually been an opportunity for his character to do something and the writers didn't even use it.
ReplyDeleteFor me, Liv and Tyler is a forced relationship. Writers are trying to give Tyler a purpose, that's why he's with Liv. And yes, Klaus should've killed him. It would've saved us a lot of boring scenes.
ReplyDeleteI think that Ian S. insisted on more screentime with Bonnie, which is the only reason it actually happened.
ReplyDeleteI think these writers must have taken a page out of the Gossip Girl book on how to ruin practically every character in a series.
ReplyDeleteI'm SO on board with this. I'm sure Steven is lovely in real life, but I've gotten so tired of his character. It's funny... Bonnie used to be my least favorite character, as I thought she was useless and whiny. Jeremy used to be one of my absolute favorites. They've done a switch this season.
ReplyDeleteFinally! I never liked Jeremy and he's been dead weight for ages now. Glad that his boring romance with Bonnie will be over and he will be free from Damon's attempt to murder him. Bonnie can have more time with Damon now. Now if they only dropped Enzo and Tyler, and as much as I like him, Matt, I'd be happy. I wouln't cry if Damon was gone too lol, unless if he stays for more Bamon.
ReplyDeleteI think Tyler would have an easier time fitting in as a regular on The Originals but that's probably another unpopular opinion.
ReplyDeleteI think i only like bonnie & alaric throughout the series constantly. For others,it's a love-hate relationship.
ReplyDeleteThey wasted him for so long, he might as well be gone. He can take Alaric with him, since anything interesting about the two characters has been removed. Jeremy being a Hunter and Alaric being a super vamp where totally interesting. Now, both characters are so boring and annoying.
ReplyDeleteWho will be left then?LOL!
ReplyDeleteI don't find it forced at all. They've had a few nice, well written moments together but I don't agree with keeping someone around just to be one half of a relationship either.
ReplyDeleteI also thought michael would quit before steven, whenever it happens!
ReplyDeleteSteroline and Bamon, leaving Elena with some much needed "me" time!
ReplyDeleteNot trying to be the "bad guy", but does anyone really care about this departure? On the upside we are now one more step closer to the......................"Pancake Diaries" happening, YES! Nobody 4 LATER!!!
ReplyDeleteOn a serious note, she needs to spend day without thinking about boys.romance on her mind, see what that's actually like!
ReplyDeleteConsidering Steven's said about...what? 10 lines (most likely less than that) this season so far, I'm not surprised. I'm kinda sad, but then again, without an interesting storyline for Jeremy - he's completely boring and useless. However I am surprised he's leaving first, I always thought Michael would leave before Steven.
ReplyDeletethinking about it...He should've stay dead, once they started resurrecting people, specially Jeremy, the show lost part of it's essence. His death brought lots of drama and made the show really good but that kind of lost meaning once he came back to do basically nothing on the show.
ReplyDeleteAlthough i love enzo/michael malarkey,i'll admit he has no real purpose this season.I even saw an video of an interview of julie saying that if the trio doesn't continue in future, they are in talks with CW execs to lauch a enzo-alaric centric spin-off!LOL!Julie is soft on michael malarkey, obsessed with ian & JoMO and now chris wood is also joining her love list if her twitter feeds are any indication.I won't be surprised if chris wood is promoted to series regular for season 7 at upfronts.
ReplyDeleteOr at least get killed off first.
ReplyDeleteHe's never really had a role except to be sad and watch his girlfriends die. I hope he has something to go to.
ReplyDeleteCooool , he had no point anyway.... Now Elena needs to died or just dissapear and we'r finally gonna get Bamon !
ReplyDeleteWhat is Plec thinking? An Enzo-Alaric spinoff sounds about as thrilling as a Matt-Jeremy spinoff, except at least the latter would make a less annoying duo. If it's an issue of keeping Malarkey, they could always give him is own Doppleganger... a much kinder who doesn't kill people for sport. The writers give out Dopplegangers the way Oprah gives out cars, so it wouldn't be too big a stretch! I'm not a big Matt Davis or Malarkey fan, though. The actor playing Kai is far more compelling.
ReplyDeleteI liked chris wood since TCD days,so i knew he was a great actor early on before he rose to fame in TVD.As for michael, there's just something about him that i can't resist. It's not like i dig the whole bad boy vibe coz i totally dislike damon.Perhaps it's his good looks or that accent! So shallow,i know but as a gay man,i have my weakness.Let's see what that crazy chick does by may,we can only wait and watch!
ReplyDeleteOr that!LOL!
ReplyDeleteLOL,,,,I posted the exact same thing!
ReplyDeleteHahahaha
ReplyDeleteSeriously, It would be such a waste of amazing chemistry and potential if they didn't develop the Bonnie/Damon relationship. Bamon is the reason I started watching the series again.
ReplyDeleteI like you.Great points!
ReplyDeleteJullie would never get rid of michael malarkey. She's soft on him,the reason is well-known.The same cannot be said about the other michael though!LOL!
ReplyDeleteWow that's cold. You hate the character fair, but damn that's almost mean.
ReplyDeleteNightwing for the Teen Titans show.
ReplyDeleteIt's funny thinking that i used to love him in the first 3 seasons and now i don't even care!I get what you're saying but clearly many think my way.He had no purpose on the show since season 4 and is an awful actor.Hence my mean comment.
ReplyDeleteWell, it's not ls actually doing anythig, so he may aswell go and try to get a real role in some other tv show.
ReplyDeleteThat's funny, I usually root for the good guys or the underdogs, but I really like Damon (as long as he isn't being a jerk to Bonnie!) which doesn't make any sense either. But in general, I like characters like Stefan, Tyler, Marcel, Bonnie, Caroline and even Elena, whereas I can't stand Klaus, Katherine or Enzo! BTW, I started watching the New Girl again, after they introduced that really cute British guy....he's not even a great actor, so I can't really judge you for liking Malarkey!
ReplyDeleteShe needs to be stopped or banned from twitter.
ReplyDeleteJulian morris,he plays prince philip in OUAT & wren in PLL.
ReplyDeleteJeremy should of just stayed dead in season 4 and left then. I'm glad he's going he didn't add much since he was resurrected. Besides he was suppose to not come back after he died, Julie only brought him back because she felt Elena needed a family member alive.
ReplyDeleteHe was great in early seasons this is a good decision.
Of course he will return as a guest star for the final episode.
Too little, too late. His character should have died/stayed dead two seasons ago.
ReplyDeleteStill.
ReplyDeleteLol okay, I was too harsh. Keep Damon, as long as he and Elena stay away from each other romantically. Matt just needs better storylines. But I would still get rid of Tyler, Enzo and how could I forget, ALARIC. I never liked him, never got the hype and he's so pointless that I even forgot that he was on the show when I was picking the characters I would get rid of LMAO!
ReplyDeleteThat's how bad the show has gotten IMO, many characters seem useless. I would add Liv as a regular, I like her.
Sorry man,i know when it comes to TVD,i tend to over-criticize every details.I'll try to keep my hatred in check a bit next time around!
ReplyDeleteI second that, this woman is NUTS!
ReplyDeletesooo maybe he gets cast as Nightwing in Titans? damn thought that he's leaving although his storyline wasn't going anywhere after he became a Hunter/Medium
ReplyDeleteas a Medium not Hunter?
ReplyDeleteLol, fair in criticizing. The show is really bad at times now.
ReplyDeleteAt least this season has been better than season 5 up until now even with it's numerous flaws & loopholes & inconsistencies,I'll give them that!
ReplyDeleteJust Steven? I thought for sure Ian or Nina, or both, were leaving too...but maybe they will just announce that later...
ReplyDeleteI really don't think they continue without the main trio. Since it's renewed for a season 7, I think all three agreed to stay for another season. They will lose a lot of viewers and fans if even one of main three actors leave. They'd better end TVD instead of continuing without the most popular characters. I for one have no problem with Nina leaving, since I only liked Katherine and now she will never come back. Elena's of no significance to me. But if Ian or Paul leave, I won't watch anymore. TVD is all about the Salvatores for me...BOTH of them. I won't watch with one or both out and I'm know many others who won't either.
ReplyDeleteoh ok I read wrong then sorry.
ReplyDeleteI left the series a couple seasons ago, but... again? LOL
ReplyDeleteI have to wonder if the series being renewed really means that there will automatically be a seventh season. Steven R. McQueen has been hinting for a while now that he wants to move on to other projects. It's hard to imagine Elena wanting to stay in Mystic Falls without her brother. Maybe, if there is a seventh season, Elena will have a little journey of her own and the writers will continue to "redefine the parameters of the show." I think it's long past time for the character Jeremy to move on. He's been in his own little purgatory. I suppose Julie Plec would be fine with losing one of the stars and continuing the show as long as the major three don't quit. They haven't yet, at least not according to anything but rumors, but both Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev seem concerned about their aging being a problem. They won't want to play vampires for very much longer. From what I saw in videos of the SDCC panel, it looks like there's a general agreement between the EPs and actors to keep the show going for no longer than seven seasons. I wonder if any other actors will depart, leaving room for others, possibly one or two we haven't seen yet, to become series regulars.
ReplyDeleteI think Jeremy will leave because Bonnie will come back and they will have a confrontation that will be life-changing for Jeremy. Bonnie's experience already has to be life-changing. I wonder if she'll spend anymore time with Damon. He definitely mourned her loss when he thought there was no hope of her coming back. He actually sat in her dorm room and stared at her picture, and do I recall a scene where he called her cell phone just to hear her voice? They definitely became friends, to say the least.
ReplyDeleteEven though his character was pointless, he was really sexy I gotta say! Right up my alley!
ReplyDeleteThat he was!LOL!
ReplyDeleteI have to wonder if the series being renewed really means that there will automatically be a seventh season-What does that even mean?
ReplyDeleteI really think chris wood will become series regular in season 7 and take steven's place.
The show renewed for season 7 can mean two things-either it's a final season or not.If it's a final season,it can be a shortened one(10/13 episodes) or a full one(regular 22 episodes) according to the main trio's contracts. But the episode order will only be confirmed in official capacity in may upfronts, not before that.
As for the series,a few months ago, julie did an interview(there's a video on the net) where she said that even if the main trio exits after season 7,she is in talks with the CW execs to continue the franchise without them.If that doesn't pan out, they are keeping the option of enzo-alaric spin-off open. So,as long as The network is willing to continue with the project & the ratings are above the network average,i don't think the show will stop even if ian, nina & paul doesn't continue beyond season 7.Hope that helps.
What I meant to say was that a renewal may only prove that the network wants the show to continue, if the EP and actors are still willing to do it. The story appears to be winding down this season and things are about to come full circle as far as whether the main characters should move on from Mystic Falls. Who's to say that Julie Plec won't decide herself in a few months to end TVD on a high note and turn her attention to other projects? Contract negotiations with the actors could also still be going on. We JUST heard this week that Steven R. McQueen is taking his leave. I read somewhere that the network isn't made privy to the details until negotiations are over. Even if the main three have already signed their contracts, they can still have minor roles in a spin-off for a season. There's no reason for Elena or any other vampire to stay in Mystic Falls with both Jeremy and Sheriff Forbes gone. I'm not saying I believe this is the final season, but I think that's still a possibility.
ReplyDeleteI know that JP cracked a joke about an Alaric-Enzo spin-off in an interview after the Season 5 finale, when she was asked if Alaric and Enzo would fight over who is a better friend to Damon. CD joked about a barroom brawl when she was asked the same question. Since this season started, the two characters have had little to no contact with each other and they just keep drifting further apart in story, especially with Alaric being human. If there is a spin-off in the works, I'm pretty sure the EPs would keep the details quiet for as long as possible, like they did with TO.
The fact that Julie said that they all gave steven a farewell party means that they decided that amicably long before that he's moving on,we just didn't know it.Season 7 renewal implies that the main trio has renewed their contracts for another 10/13/22 episodes,no matter what the episode order is.That info will only come into light at may up-fronts.I found one line very funny though-Why would the vampires leave mystic falls when jeremy & sheriff gets off the show-they are very minor characters.Whether they stayed/left,it doesn't matter to most of the viewers including me.The main trio & caroline needs to stay on the show to carry it forward since they have the most prominent arc on this show on average.I remember in season 3,there was some chatter about TO spin-off but they joked about it & brushed it off casually. Then they announced the very same thing next year jan 30.So,the enzo-alaric spin-off series idea may have been stated lightly, but who knows when that will turn to reality. As for enzo-alaric interactions,if caroline can end up with stefan as an end-game couple, then anything is possible on this show.Never say never.Let's see what happens in may, there's more questions about the show's future now than there was before the renewal, weird!
ReplyDeleteFor me it's about how the actor leaves. If someone is walking around offering the same deal Esther was, and Stefan or Elena takes it, I would be fine with that. Not only would we see very positive life changes for a favorite character, we might also see the end of doppelganger/vampire relationship drama, and that would be a BIG plus. People don't see it now, but if they're fans of a show or it's characters, they can grow to like a new actor who went through an exhaustive casting process to earn the role.
ReplyDeleteI think that if the show continues, then the locations might change, and we may only have an inkling of the endgame couples. Elena and Caroline will have no more familial ties to the town, Stefan has been trying to leave since Elena chose Damon, Matt wants vampires out of his town, Tyler and Alaric are doing the college thing with girlfriends who are supposed to be in Portland, and I think Bonnie only stayed away from her mother this long because her friends needed her. If Delena and Steroline are endgame couples, they'd have to live separately because Elena gets the feels when she sees Stefan and Caroline together in even a platonic way. Unless the stories all change into something that will hold for another season, it shouldn't take more than 12 more episodes for the characters to decide to go their separate ways. If there is a Season 7, it should be very interesting. The way things are going, I'm pretty sure the only way most of the characters could stay peacefully in Mystic Falls is if either Damon or Enzo kills Matt, which would break Elena.
ReplyDeleteMatt has grown really annoying according to me this season but TBH,i really don't think the writers would kill the only human on the show!
ReplyDeleteTrue. And Kai is actually a mostly interesting/good villain. Markos on the other hand...
ReplyDeleteIt's sad because I never hated Jeremy's character, but he's been pretty aimless for seasons now, so I think it's a good thing he's leaving. Unfortunately, he's not the only one who should go. The writers have plenty of decent characters that have been so underused that I don't know why the writers even bother keeping them around. Even Stefan has been demoted on TVD and he was once one of the most important characters on the show. But unless he's playing doormat to Dullena or doing the will they/won't they dance with Caroline, what purpose does he really serve anymore?
ReplyDeleteHe should have stayed dead
ReplyDeleteI really hope not. I can see where Matt is coming from, though. The town has seen a lot of problems since the Salvatore brothers came back. I'm just not sure it's because they're vampires. It was Elena's relationship with them that attracted Katherine's attention, and that attracted enough attention to bring the Originals into town. When they left, the town developed traveler and witch problems that led to a 2,000-year-old purgatory imploding, and now there's a power-sucking, serial killing witch on the loose. Isobel was right when she told Elena that as long as Elena has a Salvatore brother on each arm, she will end up dead. The girl has died three times already. I know a lot of people say that Delena is endgame, but if there's another season and a half to go, I have a feeling all three of the main characters will end up with different people. Someone might even walk off into the sunset alone. Elena wants her memories back now because she doesn't remember how much she suffered when she was with and without Damon. She's supposed to get an interesting proposition soon. I think Kai will offer to break her compulsion in exchange for something in her that might help him control his power. When we saw him sort of electrocuting her in the promo, he might have been just breaking the compulsion. Elena will remember loving Damon TOO much, and she might struggle with that. I'm interested in what Bonnie's advice will be, after seeing for herself that Damon is redeemable. The problem is, Damon's redemption isn't Elena's responsibility. I'm really annoyed with the fact that Caroline is still pushing Elena toward Damon. Caroline has been doing that since she slept with Klaus. I honestly don't think Elena cared about that.
ReplyDeleteStefan has changed a lot. He's not a doormat, but it looks like he's making Caroline into one. It isn't a will they/won't they dance so much as Stefan stringing Caroline along after admitting that he has no romantic feelings for her and he doesn't believe he ever will. That's one of the few things he's told the truth about this season. He's doing so much nasty lying that I'm almost glad to see Enzo mess with him.
ReplyDeleteThat's why the writers did away with the Other Side. Now if characters actually die, there's no chance of resurrection unless they're part of a witch coven.
ReplyDeleteWho doesn't (have enough of this show)? I stopped watching 2 seasons ago. According to what I hear it's not a big los. Or is it? Should I take the time to start watching again?
ReplyDeleteJeremy has left the show so many times that I have no emotions but "Meh" to this news, lol.
ReplyDeleteWhat reason is she soft on him?
ReplyDeleteAnd why Phoebe Tomkin was cast in the Originals. Sadly.
ReplyDeleteIsn't Jer a senior??Anyway, good luck to Steven.Sadly,Jer isn't the only character that has no purpose on the show.
ReplyDeletehonestly, would that really be the worst thing?I have nothing against Ian or any actor on the show, but what purpose does he really serve anymore?I can't think of any chracter that has a storyline of his/her own.
ReplyDeleteThe very same reason she's soft on ian,JoMo,Chris wood!LOL!Don't make me spell it out for ya!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad, but still it annoys me that both Jeremy and Alaric's death got wiped away, so now the series has never killed off any regulars who were not female, only Vicki and Jenna stayed dead, while if your a male who get resurrected.
ReplyDeleteI still watch it, but honestly I don´t think you are missing much. From time to time happens something interesting, but it´s pretty much predictable story :D
ReplyDeleteAnd that is the sad thing about it. Not, that it's predictable. Everyone who watches movies and shows long eonugh can predict nearly anything. The sad thing is, that I'm not missing much. The show hat such great potential in S1 and S2. Since S3 it's getting worse each year.
ReplyDeleteTell me: Are Damon and Elena still together? What about Stefan?
Please, tell me Caroline is dead. I was really beginning to hate her. And Bonnie too, JP totalie ruined their characters.
At the moment Elena has erased every good memory of Damon, because he died and she couldn´t handle it so they are not exactly together, but they are heading there. Stefan is still the same Stefan, they are pairing him wirh Caroline right now because she found out she loves him. Bonnie is currently dead, but she will be back I guess.
ReplyDeleteThanks. I don't know if I should laugh or cry. Why can't dead people stay dead on that show? I mean comming back as a vamp is one thing. But this is getting redicolus. Bonnie already died and came back, if I'm not wrong. So did Jerremy, Alaric, now Damon, ... Is there one character on that show taht did not die and came back (one way or another)?
ReplyDeleteStefan and Caroline? Well, better than Klaus. And just so you know: I hate Caroline for this shit that went on between her and Klaus. After all he did (to her and her friends) she fucked him, but she still hates Damon for S1 ...
I hope Bonnie won't be back. Dead people should stay dead.
So Damon died and came back? Looks like they are again searching for inspiration in the books.
It´s really frustrating, I loved the show so much, now I´m just going through episodes when I´m bored :D They have no new ideas and there is so many plot holes it usually doesn´t make any sense. They should have ended it while it was still good.
ReplyDeleteI´m from Europe too, so I was the same. Sometimes I stayed up all night to watch it too :D Now I just watch it when I have time, sometimes days later :D I watched Buffy and Charmed, totally agree with you, it all made sense in the end, but TVD not :D I watch Originals, it´s not my favourite show, but it´s good enough for me. I actually like Klaus so I don´t have a problem with watching the show :D
ReplyDeleteI know that is´t been renewed for 7th season, also The Originals for 3rd. All cast staying except for Steven R. McQueen.
ReplyDeleteToo bad. I hoped they would give the show a decent end, since the show is dying a slow and painful death for the past 2 years.
ReplyDeleteBut then again, I understand the cast. Shows are great. They have regular working hours and regular salary. What's better?
Although I doubt they still enjoy the work.
I know that I wouln't enjoy working at this show as it is. I would try to find another show. As I said, the show has an excelent cast. All the main characters have incredible talent. They shouldn't have problems finding something better.
Actually,Plec said it was the network that wanted to keep Klaus alive, she was planning for Klaus to be killed in the s3 finale.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you and I don´t think they enjoy it as much as they were. They might say how happy they are it´s still going on, but you can see in interviews or at conventions that it´s just a routine and nothing more. They are very talented actors, I´m sure it won´t be hard for them to find a new show.
ReplyDeleteShe finds them pretty? lol. Can't blame her, tvd has a pretty attractive cast, haha.
ReplyDeleteLOL.She has such a hard job focusing on her work among these men!
ReplyDeleteI have to disagree. When it comes to Delena, Stefan's a complete doormat. When he's not playing supportive little brother to Damon, He's the cheerleader for Delena and yet ANOTHER love interest for Caroline. And no, Stefan hasn't been an angel this season, but I don't think he's been as awful as some think. And this whole Enzo thing is pointless. I think the writers are only doing it so they have a reason to keep Enzo around.
ReplyDeleteIt's true that a stable show is the "wet dream" of (almost) every actor. Maybe that's the reason they stay on the show. Or it could be money.
ReplyDeleteI don't know. I know that I would be afraid that a bad show, that is slowly dying might be worse for my career than quiting and waiting for a new project, even if it might take a year or so.
Are they even making movies in the break? You know, the months when they are not working on TVD. They should. Or they might never again get back into cinema and will be switching between shows ... They are way to good for that ...
I think some of them make movies, I know that Nina and Paul for sure and Ian is busy with his projects and now with his girlfriend. Don´t know anything about others though. I mean some of them might be stuck between shows, but I don´t think all of them.
ReplyDeleteI know, that they all made movies before TVD. But I can't remember, that anyone of them made a movie since they started on TVD. Maybe it was a low budget or something, and that's why its not so known ... I don't know. Maybe I should check.
ReplyDeleteSo he has a new girlfriend. Not that I'm surprised. He's the hottest piece of ass on the show. Steven is second if you ask me.
I must say I was so worried when Ian and Nina broke up I thought that it would be bad for the show. I had the same concern when Michael and Jen on Dexter got divorced. I know that it didn't interfere with Dexter. How is it on TVD?
I have to agree about Enzo. All of the remaining good stories are being used up on Stefan and Caroline, which from what I understand wasn't the plan when Michael Malarkey first became a series regular. This might be the result of too many fans complaining that Stefan and Caroline don't get enough good stories. Ivy was originally rumored to be a love interest for Enzo. Now he's just a troublemaker everyone is tired of. The only real purpose he serves is changing the way Matt feels about vampires, but whatever he does to Matt will only make Enzo's character more irritating. If Michael Malarkey is contracted on a season-by-season basis, then I would expect Enzo to be part of the big death count there will be by the end of the season. Julie Plec said that the show might continue beyond seven seasons depending on how many actors can participate, not depending on which actors, so I think the EPs might have figured out how to continue the show if one of the three stars quits. It's all in the storytelling, and whether there are characters handy who are just as or more well-liked that are played by actors willing to sign on as regulars. If the writers manage to figure out a way to make Kai redeemable, he would make an easy replacement for Damon. Ian Somerhalder has accumulated enough income to quit acting altogether and concentrate on his environmental activism, which seems to be a bigger part of his life and might be his true calling.
ReplyDeleteOK, well OUAT definitely needs to bring back Prince Phillip. I can't believe I didn't recognize him!
ReplyDeleteYeah, there are some movies, new ones too....I think there´s no difference, I mean they are actors so they just act now.
