The Musketeers - Emilie - Teaser Hangman
Jan 22, 2015
SS The MusketeersThe episode may have been delayed a week due to the FA Cup, but that doesn't mean you get to go totally spoiler free. Here's this week's hangman, along with some cryptic clues about its topic. Good luck!
The hangman has been cracked. Well done to everyone, that was incredible teamwork to get it so quickly! :)
The first picture clue has also been worked out. It is of Lake Constance, as seen in Austria.
The second cryptic clue has been worked out. Mr Ed & Stop & Ard = Ed Stoppard
Fans of Constance will be pleased to hear that she is involved in the story in a much more satisfying and plausible manner. We finally see the bond she shares with the queen as she reassures and supports her majesty through a vexing time in the episode. She also has important scenes with most of the Musketeers, as well as Emilie and a returning character from an earlier episode this season.

Thanks for doing this Sandi! Let's see how quickly we can crack it! ;)
ReplyDeleteI've fixed the poll so it shows the results now. Forgot to change the setting again after doing the closed polls for S1, sorry :)
ReplyDeleteI'm trying to come up with a visual clue to add with the first letter
ReplyDelete'Fans of ....?..... will be ....?.... to hear that ....' ??? Am I even close? Lol
ReplyDeleteNot bad at all :)
ReplyDeleteThank you Anon! How about:
ReplyDeleteFans/of/Constance/will/be/pleased/to/know/that/she/is/...?
That's a beautiful photo Sandi! :)
Apart from one word, that is it :)
ReplyDeleteIt does look idyllic there doesn't it. It took me ages to find a photo that wasn't too easy to stick in Google to get the answer, lol.
It does look lovely - I've failed to find it yet on Google! Nice one! :) Will there be any more visual clues?
ReplyDeleteHmm, I'll see what I can do. To be honest though, half of the photo clue has been cracked already by getting the start of the hangman right ;)
ReplyDeleteGuess for the first sentence and beginning of the second. Huge credit to Anon and Helen:
ReplyDelete"Fans of Constance will be pleased to hear that she is actually at the heart of a story both uplifting and character driven. It follows her......"
That's kind of along the right lines, and the start is correct :)
ReplyDelete"Fans of Constance will be pleased to hear that she is"
Fans of Constance will be pleased to hear that she is valuable to the story in a tale both uplifting and....
ReplyDeleteHello Sandi ! I was wondering, about the picture... Is this landscape from Austria ?
ReplyDeleteIt does look rather like Austria. I was just looking up photographs of Lourdes as wondered whether it could be that.
ReplyDeleteIt has a sense of heaven/paradise about it.
ReplyDeleteLooks like Middle Earth to me, but perhaps not. Doesn't fit. ;)
ReplyDeleteMaybe Constance is in search of a ring?:)
ReplyDeleteThis is Lake Constance (Bodensee), isn't it ?
ReplyDeleteGenius Virginie! :)
ReplyDeleteAre you guys serious? There's like, 3 letters in the whole paragraph! LOL :D I have no idea! Helen!
ReplyDeleteAh, but apparently Aramis features a lot in it! We need your help! ;)
ReplyDeleteSo I am not the only one who is not happy that it is about Constance??
ReplyDeleteAlright, alright....lol :D I'll give it a go in a minute, though I doubt I'll be of much help. You seem to be doing just fine so far! ;o)
ReplyDeleteFans/of/Constance/will/be/pleased/to/hear/that/she/is/featured/in/the/story/
ReplyDeletein/a/****/****satisfying/way/*********/******./
Not sure about the part after /is/ - it's a pure guess. We may have to wait for some more letters!
I was thinking "involved in the story" (as another alternative)? But I haven't gotten much further yet...lol
ReplyDeleteThat's better! It can't be 'featured' as the 'f' has already been used. Silly me! :)
ReplyDeleteInvolved is good. Progress...
ReplyDeleteCould it be "Fans of Constance will be pleased to hear that she is involved in the story in a role both satisfying and .......
ReplyDeleteThat sounds possible! I was having a look at the second line and wondered if it starts: 'We/finally/see/her...' or something along those lines?
ReplyDeleteAw poor Constance (I might try to copyright that phrase. Given events, it could make me a fortune :)). She's getting slapped by everyone this series. Come on Connie. Time to get your mojo....and your Musketeer back.
ReplyDeleteYep. That would be an excellent start to the second sentence.
ReplyDeletePossibly your 'character driven' was correct at the end?? :)
ReplyDeleteYou think Sandi's playing coy because we have TWO weeks to solve this? ;)
ReplyDeleteWith any luck, if we solve it early we'll get something else to work on.
ReplyDeleteVery possible! I think she's probably sitting back laughing at me thinking that photo was Lourdes!! ;)
ReplyDeleteShe may give us the whole preview to work out this rate! ;)
ReplyDeleteLOL....then we probably need a few more weeks of football in between....
ReplyDeleteCould the one word towards the end of that sentence possibly be "courage"? And the end MIGHT be "in the episode"
ReplyDeleteSorry, I'm happy. ;) Any opportunity for her to break out her S1 self and get her self-confidence back is fine with me!
ReplyDeleteThat sounds good! How about: We/finally/see/her/join/the/action/... ???
ReplyDeleteNear the end of the second line...
ReplyDelete/*****g*/*/
/arrange/a/ ?
...when the Queen....
ReplyDeleteOnce this one is solved, you may get your wish ;)
ReplyDelete:o I hope you don't take two weeks. There's a reason that easier letters were given out first and clues are going up :)
ReplyDeleteLol, I think my eyes would pack up on me if I did that. Three sentences of **** to work with is enough to make them complain XD
ReplyDeleteHi Debs, welcome to the site! She's not the only one that the cryptic clue is about, though the hangman is mostly about her. The other two hangman I have planned are about a different characters too though :)
ReplyDeleteIt is indeed, that's half of the clue cracked )
ReplyDeleteLol, well there's a lot of character stuff going on in this one! :) I was hoping to get through two by Sunday, and then have the normal one in the preview. If the second does run over I guess it doesn't matter too much though.
ReplyDeleteI'm not surprised! I'm starting to see those * when I close my eyes! ;)
ReplyDeleteSandi, was anything that has been guessed in the past few hours right? I think we were up to
ReplyDelete"Fans of Constance will be pleased to hear that she is involved in the story in a role both satisfying and character driven. We finally see her join the action when the Queen..."
Was there anything else guys? I think I lost track a bit! LOL
Like I say, the first sentence is very nearly there, it's right up until 'story in a' and then it's a little bit off, but the next letter will help with that I think. The second does start with 'We finally see' too :)
ReplyDeleteIm always hopeless at these but I'm glad to see it is about constance. My hopes are placed solely on someone else solving it though! No matter how hard I try I cant seem to find any words.
ReplyDeleteRather than role perhaps part? 'Fans of constance will be pleased to hear that she is involved in the story in a part both satisfying and character driven. We finally see her join the action when the queen hears of the ... '
ReplyDeleteand then skip a bit to 'of the musketeers'
(I told you I'm hopeless!)
Could it be "in a tale both satisfying and character driven"? Going to guess "We finally see her make her choice when..."
ReplyDelete"Part" could be good Emma.
ReplyDelete'J' has already been added, though, so it can't be join. "We finally see her take the chance that..."?? I don't know either, without more letters. This is a tough one!
ReplyDeleteThat could be it. I was thinking "We finally see her make her choice when she...." I'm also wondering if one of the words in that sentence is "injured".
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately, the 'k' has already been added as well. It could be 'injured'. I was working on 'majesty' but can't fit in anything around it.
ReplyDeleteThe third sentence may start "She also has..." but not sure.
Injured or enjoyed, maybe.
ReplyDeleteAh yes, darn. How about, "We finally see her have her/the chance when..."
ReplyDeleteI also think that third sentence contains the word "Musketeers".
This is what I have for the second two lines at the moment:
ReplyDeleteWe/finally/see/the/****/***/******/****/***/*****/**/***/*********/***/********/
***/majesty/*****g*/a/*****g/****/in/the/episode./
She/also/has/*********/******/****/****/of/the/musketeers,/**/****/**/******/***/*/********g/*********/f***/**/*******/*******/****/******.
That could be right! I've been looking at those cryptic picture clues but can't work it out! ;)
ReplyDeleteBrilliant "majesty" hadn't thought of that.
ReplyDeleteCould it be something on the lines of: ""We/finally/see/her/****/***/******/with/the/queen/..."
ReplyDeleteI had "ride the horses with the queen" but that just looks silly! I'm no good with these cryptic picture clues - can anyone help? :)
You could be right. Tamla posted a picture of her with a pony on her twitter which I assume she rode during filming.
ReplyDeleteThink it's time to head off for the night - I'll probably be dreaming of *'s! Hope you solve a bit more by the morning! ;)
ReplyDeleteSleep for me too I think.:)
ReplyDelete"She also has brilliant scenes with three of the Musketeers"
ReplyDeleteThe Beam means False Magician Exposed by Clever Girl, ist name from fairy tell
ReplyDeleteThe Beam False Magician Exposed by Clever Girl,
ReplyDeleteIs this a guess at the cryptic clue? I'm afraid that it's not the beam that's the important bit in the second photo.
ReplyDeleteA hint for the cryptic clues is to say what the three things are, together they make up one other subject that is in the hangman :)
ReplyDeleteSpot on :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Sandi! Could the second line be
ReplyDeleteWe/finally/see/the/bond/she/******/with/the/queen...etc. etc.
I raise you a "and (or she) supports her majesty through a trying time in the episode."
ReplyDeleteAh, that sounds likely! Super! Just working on 'bond' as fifth word for second sentence. ;)
ReplyDeleteWe/finally/see/the/bond/she/******/with/the/queen/**/***/
*****u***/and/supports/her/majesty/through/a/trying/time/
in/the/episode./
I've noticed the end of our first sentence no longer fits!
ReplyDeleteFans/of/Constance/will/be/pleased/to/hear/that/she/is/
involved/in/the/story/in/a/dual/****/satisfying/and/***u**b**/******./
I wondered whether the 18th word of first sentence is 'dual'?
Is it 'action'? :)
ReplyDeleteFans of Constance will be pleased to hear that she is involved in the story in a full and satisfying way
ReplyDeleteIt could be 'full' ;)
ReplyDeleteJust realised the f is already there.😄
ReplyDeleteHa! Didn't see your reply and have come to the exact the conclusion! I just completely overlooked the two missing words in the middle. But could be "with the queen as she ... and supports her"
ReplyDeletemaybe the second to last one is "plausible"? (As we've talked about her storylines not exactly being plausible so far...lol)
ReplyDeleteOh poo! We'll get there in the end. Good team work going on here ;)
ReplyDeleteAh, could be ;)
ReplyDeleteI think it's "Fans of Constance will be pleased to hear that she is involved in the story in a much more satisfying and plausible manner."
ReplyDeleteThat's got to be it! Back to the second sentence now! :)
ReplyDeleteOkay, how about "reassures" for the missing word? So "We finally see the bond she ... with the queen as she reassures and supports her majesty through a trying time in the episode."
ReplyDeleteOkay, sentence three:
ReplyDeleteShe/also/has/*********/******/****/****/of/the/musketeers,/
**/****/**/******/***/a/recurring/character/f***/**/*******/*******/****/******.
That could be ;)
ReplyDeleteGoing back to your earlier suggestion, maybe "She also has important scenes with some of the Musketeers"?
ReplyDeleteAs long as it makes them get back together quicker! ;)
ReplyDeleteThat sounds good! I've been trying to see where the 'x' will go. ;)
ReplyDeleteI'm kinda stuck now. I need another letter. Think Sandi will let us buy a bonus "e" or something? ;)
ReplyDeleteThat would definitely help! Hopefully, Sandi will let us know if we're right so far with it. I'm out now until about 9.30pm, so will check back then. Hopefully, another letter will be posted by then! ;)
ReplyDeleteThat could definitely work.😄
ReplyDeleteI just want to see someone show her some respect. A bit of an ally at court would be no bad thing for her. Certainly if he is interested in her, I don't think for a minute that the feeling would be mutual. Couldn't you just see a hot headed D'Art getting the wrong end of the stick and having another "coward" moment. I could just hear him saying to her, "At least with him you wouldn't have nothing!" Possibly earning him a slap.
ReplyDeleteWe seem to be making good progress with the hangman!😄
I still have absolutely no idea though what that clue is supposed to be - and we're 3/4 through that hangman. O.o
ReplyDeleteI had a crazy guess at the horsey clue that it was "Would trigger panic."
ReplyDeleteI hope Constance doesn't show an ounce of interest in anyone else, otherwise I can see many viewers losing their sympathy for her regarding cheating on Bonacieux and I'd be one of them. The biggest issue for Constagnan is her marriage, so having a jealous d'Artagnan isn't going to solve that issue anytime soon.
ReplyDeleteI've had an idea the horse isn't Trigger, I think it's Mr Ed. A reference to Ed Stoppard who plays Lemay and is the recurring character! 😄
ReplyDeleteShe won't. I'm pretty sure of that. He may just show her some kindness, if any interest at all. That would be no bad thing, given her experiences at Court so far.
ReplyDelete....now that you're saying that, I guess it's Mr. Ed - Stop - Art. And I tried figuring out for hours what that last picture was actually supposed to depict. Yeah, never would have gotten there...lol
ReplyDeleteBoom! That's it!😄
ReplyDeleteSandi can you confirm, Kynickey and I think the cryptic clue refers to Ed Stoppard, who'll be playing Lemay again in the episode.
ReplyDeleteThat's brilliant! Not sure what the third picture is though?
ReplyDeleteArt. I think it's totally just supposed to be art. As in Stopp-ard.
ReplyDeleteI go away for a few hours and you've cracked it! Super work Scoobie and kynikey :)
ReplyDeleteTotally agree. It would be good for her to have a friend at court other than the queen. Think he needs a slap or two after the 'coward' comment but all will be forgiven next week (hopefully!!). ;)
ReplyDeleteNot as bad as my guess - I'm no good at those cryptic photo clues! :(
ReplyDeleteAh. I'd never have got that in a million years! I like my art made of paint and canvas, so that went right over my head. Very clever. :)
ReplyDeleteAnother go at the 3rd sentence:
ReplyDeleteShe/also/has/extensive/scenes/with/some/of/the/musketeers,/as/
well/as/Emiie/and/a/recurring/character/from/an/earlier/episode/will/appear.
I think that could be it but Emilie instead of Emiie.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely! Let's hope we've nearly cracked this, so we can role on to the next one! ;)
ReplyDeleteIf the sentence is correct it might well suggest that Constance will have some connection/friendship with the physician. It'll be interesting to see how that plays out. Not only in this episode but in the two more episodes in which Ed Stoppard is due to appear. So far he seems like a kindly physician and his generosity certainly saved Constance's life. He could easily have lied and claimed it was his medication that saved the baby. Whether he continues to be so altruistic, remains to be seen.
ReplyDeleteIt's actually an ard, a type of plough. But as it was close enough and you guys got the answer from it I put the solution in the update :)
ReplyDeleteCould it be 'daring' instead? ;)
ReplyDeleteCould it be vexing maybe?
ReplyDeleteIt could be, then if the 'x' is used there, possibly it is 'important' in the 3rd sentence not 'extensive'?
ReplyDeleteI liked him too and she needs someone she can talk to right now, which she doesn't really have. It would be interesting if Lemay could relate to Constance's dilemma in some way. Perhaps he too has experienced a forbidden love and she might somehow be inspired by him to take her destiny into her own hands.
ReplyDeleteShe also has extensive scenes with some of the musketeers as well as Emilie and a recurring character from an earlier episode very recent.
ReplyDeleteShe/also/has/important/scenes/with/some/of/the/musketeers,/as/well/as/Emilie/and/a/recurring/
ReplyDeletecharacter/from/an/****l**/episode/does/appear.
That fourth word from the end is vexing me now, as it can't be 'earlier' as the 'l' is in the wrong place/ ;)
Sorry Scoobie - I posted before I saw your reply. I don't think it can be 'earlier' any more, unless the 'l' is in the wrong place.
ReplyDeleteOh please let it be vexing before this turns into a three day guessing game! Lol
ReplyDeleteHaha, wrong and still right. I'll take it! :D
ReplyDeleteI'm really ready for the Aramis hangman, so crossing my fingers this is it! ;) If not, I'll juat throw in an "that visits" for the last two words - not that it makes a whole lot of sense, but the more options...lol
ReplyDeleteAh, no worries. I'm not surprised, as those * are really small. Hope we can crack the final two sentences today! Are we close with the 3rd? :)
ReplyDeleteShe/also/has/important/scenes/with/some/of/the/musketeers,/as/
well/as/Emilie/and/a/recurring/character/from/an/earlier/episode/does/appear.
Does the second sentence start something like "we finally see her bite the bullet"?
ReplyDeleteGuess for 3rd sentence:
ReplyDeleteShe/also/has/important/scenes/with/some/of/the/musketeers,/as/well/as/Emilie/
and/a/returning/character/from/an/earlier/episode/does/return.
Not sure about the 'returning' and 'return' as one must be wrong - anyone help?
...earlier/episode/this/season ?
ReplyDeleteThat could be right Kate! Super! ;)
ReplyDeleteGreat job Kate and Helen! This could be it.😄
ReplyDeleteHi Kate, welcome to the site. Great first post, the hangman has been cracked.
ReplyDeleteWell done all! The next one will go live in about 15 minutes :)
Thanks Sandi! Look forward to working on the next one when I get back from taking little one to ballet! ;)
ReplyDeleteHi zen, welcome to the site :)
ReplyDelete
