  6. This could mean new scripted shows with lots of buzz plus returning shows may air during summer 2016. Here are the possibilities such a thing would happen:

Reign and Jane The Virgin - keeping them alive where their ratings won't bother.
The 100 - already aired part of season 1 in summer and got 0.6-0.5s, so if The CW wants a reliable summer performance, they are going to move it there.
HoD - just to get the show to 88 or beyond.

But that is a big IF. We can't know for sure

  7. You're welcome :)

  8. Yeah I'm sure 2016 will be eventful for them since its when their going out of business because their contracts are up

    ReplyDelete
  9. I'd be down for that.

    ReplyDelete
  10. maybe but there already a SS movie......

    ReplyDelete
  11. Id rather they skip all of those reality shows, as it does not seem to fit this network at all, beyond me simply hating reality tv.

    ReplyDelete
  12. I wonder if it's just going to be a dumping ground for their lowest rated shows.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Agreed, I'd rather non-stop scripted shows, reality be gone ;)

    But but
Barber Battle is the most fascinating reality show on TV
..I mean it has Barbers...and Battles...
    ...and hair cutting...

  15. Not going to happen given the very same year the Suicide Squad movie being released and DC being very...well...dumb with their TV/movie properties

  16. I can see ANTM on Summer one season per year. It can work plus it's their odldest reality show it can do well.

    ReplyDelete
  17. rather that than summer being turned into another reality-gallore wonderland (aka. hell)

    ReplyDelete
  18. Reality rarely worked out for theCW, ANTM is the only really succesfull reality show they have on their schedule.
Pointe Break, Capture...all these failed to deliver ratings wise so they REALLY shouldn't go down that route again.

    Also reality television hurts

  19. I agree ,other than ANTM & WL ,reality/unscripted hasn't worked on summer for Czw but scripted hasn't worked eother(Seed,Backpackers,18 to Lfe,BatB didn't do well in ratings either though at least it stayed stable )

  20. It's probably what will happen IMO.

  21. Beauty and the Beast, Hart of Dixie, and iZombie/The Messengers here we come.

    ReplyDelete
  22. It'll run from April through much of summer

    ReplyDelete
  23. Maybe now that Steven is leaving The Vampire Diaries he can live out his Nightwing 'fantasy' finally.

    a) on "Gotham" as the rumored father of Dick Grayson aka Robin set to appear with his wife this season as circus acrobats.

    or

    b) maybe the new spin-off show coming to the CW will actually be "Nightwing" staring Steven !

  24. The scripted shows fared better by comparison though (not significantly but visibly).

But while usually scripted shows are cheaper to produce theCWs reality programming always was more cost consuming: Capture actually had them install a completely new camera system over a whole areal. Meanwhile ANTM usually is cost consuming due to celeb cameos and stunt photoshooting as well as travel.

Personally I'd prefer a purely scripted summer line.up

  25. If it airs without breaks it'll air early july. I assume CW is testing the show for summer. So it maybe even changes time timeslots when finale season is over and airs with iZombie or Batb.
Overall I meant that CW is preping the show to be a lead in Summer 2016. ^_^

  26. Mostvlikley is cancelled along with HoD,BatB though this season

    ReplyDelete
  27. there won't be a nightwing spinoff since there will be teen titan show on TNT with Dick Grayson as Nightwing

    ReplyDelete
  28. great news, hope it works out for them and hope it means fewer cancellations in the future

    ReplyDelete
  29. sounds like thats the plan, move lower rated shows to the summer and get them as many episodes as possible in the hopes of getting as many shows as they can to syndication. All year round programming off course helps promote the regular season too so it isnt a bad thing.

Cw Will renew all shows this year

    ReplyDelete
  31. wtf does that mean?

    ReplyDelete
  32. Yes. I would actually watch TV then.

    ReplyDelete
  33. I don't see them moving JtV to summers anytime soon as it's enjoying so much positive critical attention. I think they'll leave it in the week and hopefully not move it around so that new people will find it. Especially since they are discussing special streaming deals for it.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Meh I'd argue that DC's idea regarding TV/film is quite smart and honestly it's possible (two flashes concurrently and both Barry Allen).

    ReplyDelete
  35. To be fair, it would not take much to be a bigger summer for the CW. Their summer viewing doesn't get much buzz. However, I think this is a big plus and likely the reason why so many CW fans are happy tonight. Keep keeping on, Pedowitz. You'll save this network one decision at a time.

    ReplyDelete
  36. True, but I think that's why he brought on Reign and Jane the Virgin as well. He knows the problem with not diversifying but he also has to play the trend that is working for him. Dawn's problem was that she was tunnel visioned on a teen audience and couldn't see when it turned around and bit her.

    ReplyDelete
  37. So I wonder if Beauty and the Beast will be back for summer seasons.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Beauty and the Beast and Hart of Dixie pleeeaaaaassssssseeeeeeeeee

    ReplyDelete
  39. I'm all for it if it means we get to see more capture

    ReplyDelete
  40. wow can't wait to see which.

    ReplyDelete
  41. The CW panel was live blogged here: http://www.hitfix.com/the-fien-print/the-cws-mark-pedowitz-on-the-state-of-the-network-press-tour-live-blog

"Will any of the eight pick-ups be for limited runs? They haven't decided how many episodes they're going to order and some of the eight will come back at midseason or even next summer. "The Summer of 2016 should be a much bigger summer for us than ever before," he says."

  42. Capture was cancelled
