Yup, TBL's move is risky. But it will likely play off.
ReplyDeleteNow, who expected SOA to do well? I didn't.
Total BS comment re: About a Boy. State of Affairs' failing isn't a head-scratcher, it just wasn't very good. And really, another Chicago spin-off?
ReplyDeleteChicago Fire and Chicago PD does reliable business for NBC and at least Chicago Fire is extremely independent of any lead in. Chicago Med is a safe play as it will make him look great if every other new show fails.
ReplyDeleteNBC is slowly, but surely, turning itself into CBS. lol
ReplyDeleteVery true. CBS is directly copying CBS and their syndication model. Once syndication rolls in for Chicago Fire, it'll be all Chicago all the time.
ReplyDeleteNBC you mean.
ReplyDeleteI think NBC thought that The Blacklist did well, so something with a similar theme should do well after The Voice. However, James Spader came across a lot stronger than Katherine Heigl and that was the difference.
ReplyDeleteYes, NBC. Auto correct strikes again.
ReplyDeleteThe Blacklist did well because it was actually believable and the pilot was good.
ReplyDeleteThere was nothing good about State of Affairs (and it doesn't make much sense as to how someone that puts together a couple of headlines matters so much in the overall scheme of things).
I don't know who's BS smells worse, Greenblatt or Salke?
ReplyDeleteDon't you mean Paul Lee?
ReplyDeleteSOA was nothing like the Blacklist. Greenblatt is a fool if he thought SOA would draw the same viewer.
ReplyDeleteYet, you thought it would premiere to a 2.8.
ReplyDeleteLol no, I'm referring to the comments in the tweets linked above.
ReplyDeleteI know, I'm just saying Paul Lee's BS is one of the biggest BS ever.
ReplyDeleteI didn't see the pilot before making my guess. Greenblatt saw the pilot and yet he was foolish enough to think that boring mess would get The Blacklist viewers.
ReplyDeleteRegardless, you thought the show had potential just from the premise.
ReplyDeletePaul Lee is in another league. What he is doing to Revenge fans is actually sad.
ReplyDeleteChicago PD did as good as Chicago Fire this week, it has very reliable ratings, we wouldn't the renew it? Fire is the one declining, but it is still strong on Tuesdays. I actually like State of Affairs, more than The Blacklist, it is more soapy but I enjoyed it so far. More than Spader at times because at the end he is just an old man, call me superficial but Heigl is easier on the eyes. I hope they renew State of Affairs anyway.
ReplyDeleteThe log line wasn't terrible. The finished product was.
ReplyDeleteThe log line itself WAS terrible. lol
ReplyDeleteSalke wants to locate everything in Chicago and Greenblatt wants to turn everything into a musical. So if you combine the two, you get Chicago: The Musical. When is that going on schedule?
ReplyDeleteTotal bullshit about AAB and Constantine, both shows are dead.
ReplyDeleteI agree on both. But Greenblatt wants other shows from Jason Katims so he's trying to be as positive as possible.
ReplyDeleteThey can't understand why SofA was a big flop, seriously?
ReplyDeleteThey should stop giving Constantine fans false hope! It's DONE!
ReplyDeleteI love Chicago Fire and Chicago PD, but come on! Chicago Med? What is their obsession with Chicago? There are other amazing cities out there.
ReplyDeleteIt's a shame Constantine failed, I really like it and it's my only NBC show.
ReplyDeleteThere's still five episodes left, if it improves in it's new timeslot there's still a chance. I guess we'll know tomorrow when the ratings come in.
ReplyDeleteI'd say tonight is the final test for Constantine.
ReplyDeleteEven if it sees higher ratings and gets renewed, the long break will probably hurt season 2 ratings and be back at cancellation levels. My hopes aren't high for a renewal anyway but I'm still gonna watch till the end.
ReplyDeleteSalke and her comedy success.
ReplyDeleteNBC going full throttle with Heroes Reborn likely to take on Under The Crappy Shitty Dome from CBS. Oh come on Heroes. You only need good actors (which you already have) to get this shit show out the way (sorry not sorry)
ReplyDeleteI'm not watching a show where a grown arse man slaps a child in the face and then justifies it. How can they stretch this out into a series?
ReplyDeletePlease tell me that's not what The Slap is about...
ReplyDeleteLook at the promo on YT. It's exactly what it's about and I don't get it. ZQ is like 6'3 slapping a maybe 4 ft child in the face. Not for me. I don't care what kind of story they spin around it.
ReplyDeleteThe initial incident that sets the storyline forward is a slap, but it's a much wider issue then why did you do it? The original series goes crosses into discussions on socioeconomic, racial, and cultural issues and is an examination of how internal and external factors influence the raising of children and parenting within two families. NBC said they are sticking true the original series intention and if the show is picked up again, two new families will be examined.
ReplyDeleteFor some reason I thought it was supposed to be a comedy, I pay so little attention to NBC :/
ReplyDeleteBack then, it was five inter-connected shows all set in the same city (L&O, SVU, CI, Trial by Jury, and Conviction).
ReplyDeleteI'll say it again: Chicago: SVU could work as a replacement for L&O: SVU. Way better than Chicago Med.
ReplyDeleteI have enjoyed watching State of Affairs. It seems like it is somewhat like Homeland which I really like. The problem I see with State of Affairs is that they have more than one story in each episode and the stories are not developed enough. They tend to jump around and get confusing. The last few episodes I am still trying the figure out.
ReplyDeleteyea risky. If it goes wrong bye bye The Blacklist. Very clever NBC thank you. :/. Maybe another unwanted cancellation
