ReplyDeleteChicago Fire and Chicago PD does reliable business for NBC and at least Chicago Fire is extremely independent of any lead in. Chicago Med is a safe play as it will make him look great if every other new show fails.

ReplyDeleteI think NBC thought that The Blacklist did well, so something with a similar theme should do well after The Voice. However, James Spader came across a lot stronger than Katherine Heigl and that was the difference.

ReplyDeleteChicago PD did as good as Chicago Fire this week, it has very reliable ratings, we wouldn't the renew it? Fire is the one declining, but it is still strong on Tuesdays. I actually like State of Affairs, more than The Blacklist, it is more soapy but I enjoyed it so far. More than Spader at times because at the end he is just an old man, call me superficial but Heigl is easier on the eyes. I hope they renew State of Affairs anyway.

ReplyDeleteLook at the promo on YT. It's exactly what it's about and I don't get it. ZQ is like 6'3 slapping a maybe 4 ft child in the face. Not for me. I don't care what kind of story they spin around it.
ReplyDeleteThe initial incident that sets the storyline forward is a slap, but it's a much wider issue then why did you do it? The original series goes crosses into discussions on socioeconomic, racial, and cultural issues and is an examination of how internal and external factors influence the raising of children and parenting within two families. NBC said they are sticking true the original series intention and if the show is picked up again, two new families will be examined.

ReplyDeleteI have enjoyed watching State of Affairs. It seems like it is somewhat like Homeland which I really like. The problem I see with State of Affairs is that they have more than one story in each episode and the stories are not developed enough. They tend to jump around and get confusing. The last few episodes I am still trying the figure out.
