The CW’s “Supernatural” has cast “Big Eyes” actress Madeleine Arthur in a suitably surreal guest role, Variety has learned exclusively.
Arthur will play the teenage version of a woman named Tina, who finds herself trapped in an very dangerous situation with a now 14-year-old Dean Winchester (guest star Dylan Everett) in the Feb. 3 episode of the cult hit’s 10th season.

Young Dean centric it is then.
ReplyDeleteI hope Jared and Jensen enjoyed their time off. I think Jensen filmed 2 says and went to Disney in between. Jared apparently filmed 3 days which is the most he's filmed since episode 6. They both filmed quite a bit of episode 13 as it is a MOTW episode then Jensen filmed nearly all of episode 14 but Jared was off for most of the days. The one after the Cain episode is the return of Cole so it is expected to be Cole/Dean heavy/centric. I guess they might tell us what kind of monster Cole's dad was and the two will have plenty of heart to hearts about family and hunting and becoming monsters.
My first thought was "who?" and then figured out that this was indeed one of the classic "Jared and Jensen want some time off so let's cast some no-names to give them free time" episodes. Not one I'm eager to watch.
ReplyDeletePersonally I'd vote for casting two additional main characters and creating a plot the creators could use to limit Jared or Jensens shooting time (like one being trapped in one location for 5 episodes)
I think this was the only way to give JA time off and still make it yet another Dean centric episode. I'm sure Sam will use his obligatory 2 sentences to tell Dean how awesome and brilliant he is.
ReplyDelete"So lets cast some no-names to give them free time episodes" I swear we get more of those episodes than not these days. I'd rather have a 12 episode season with Jared/Jensen featuring heavily, that way they get more time off and we get Supernatural back.
ReplyDeleteOh, goodie, we are blessed with another friggin' teenager...well, actually, two friggin' teenagers this time. Yeah, I understand JA filmed one day on this one and JP two or three days. I hope Glass was able to rise above his typical author self-insert. I doubt it, since his avatar (young Dean) has this episode.
ReplyDeleteThe J2s ARE the show. If they don't want to work anymore, then it's time for TPTB to start wrapping it up.
I hate to see the separated brothers
ReplyDeleteI don,t think Cain is gong to help remove the mark I think he is gong to either give Dean advice or Dean is going to kill Cain.
ReplyDeleteI don't understand why writers lose time in the past of the Winchesters when they should focus on the problems of the present. Fix the Mark of Cain, find a way to close the gates of hell, which has been suspended in the air... Important Things. Make one episode again about the past of Dean removing scenes of the present is absurd.
ReplyDeleteI hope Dylan Everett carry contact lens, because this boy has brown eyes and the director did not hide it in the first episode where he appeared, please!!!

ReplyDeleteWhy do you expect 10.15 to be Dean/Cole heavy (just asking)? (Because JA has worked more days total in S9 and S10 so far?) The single group of 'YVR" set pictures and set report I've scene had all three (Dean/Sam/Cole) seeming to work together. If Cole wants to learn more about hunting, the more stable (for now) brother, Sam, could be equally involved in mentoring him. I'm remembering JS4's Jump the Shark and how eager Sam was to train younger brother (fake) Adam to 'be ready'. Cole would be about Adam's age if the ghouls hadn't killed him (regardless of real Adam's being resurrected in S5 and all the controversy that followed).
The writing would’ve pulled off quite a feat if Cole will look to Sam instead of seeking guidance from Dean first. However, Jared and Travis Aaron Wade seem to get along well so hopefully the actors were able to add something extra to the scenes they were in together even if the script didn’t call for Sam and Cole interacting all that much.
ReplyDeleteTrue, Travis and Jared do to be slightly more buds than Jensen and Travis but that may be only because thet filmed together first, TAW had great things to say about Jensen when they filmed 10.07. DJ Qualls (Garth) and Jared are friends but that hasn't stopped the writers from penning much heavier Dean/Garth scenes.
ReplyDeleteIt would be nice if Cole interacted equally with Sam and Dean rather than primarily with Dean when Cole returns in 10.15.
The Show is using all kinds of tricks to support the J2s semi-retirement, including using them as stage furniture in minor character's episodes, bookending episodes, having only one-third of mytharc episodes, and filming scenes separately with the other two leads.
