Joe Manganiello (“True Blood,” “Magic Mike XXL”), Emmy Award and Golden Globe Award nominee Lea Michele (Glee), Academy Award nominee Abigail Breslin (“Little Miss Sunshine,” “Zombieland,” “August: Osage County”) and Keke Palmer (“Akeela and the Bee,” “Masters of Sex”) have been cast as series regulars in SCREAM QUEENS, a new comedy-horror anthology series from Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk, Ian Brennan and Dante Di Loreto, the executive producers of Glee and “American Horror Story.” Additionally, Grammy Award nominee and actress Ariana Grande will guest-star in a recurring role.

SCREAM QUEENS is produced by 20th Century Fox Television in association Ryan Murphy Television. The series is co-created by Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Ian Brennan. Murphy, Falchuk, Brennan and Dante Di Loreto will serve as executive producers.

Okay, I love pretty much everyone cast so definitely excited for the show.
ReplyDeleteDidn't Ariana say she was retiring from acting after Sam and Cat would end? But thank you for adding Keke Palmer, another one of my fave actresses!
ReplyDeleteInteresting cast! Will be interesting how this will go down!
ReplyDeleteI agree, Keke Palmer is very talented :)
ReplyDeleteI´ll check this series out just for Lea Michele, love her.
ReplyDeleteI could have done without Lea Michele, but the rest of the cast is solid, especially having the real Scream Queen Jamie Lee Curtis heading things up.
ReplyDeleteThat's an impressive cast!
ReplyDeleteI'm expecting a pretty huge premier for this in the fall.
Interesting concept, like the idea of comedy horror but Ryan Murphy makes me uninterested really..
ReplyDeleteWow interesting cast
ReplyDeleteWhat a cast.
ReplyDeleteBiggest question about it, will it be more Glee or more AHS?
I'd actually be more interested in the concept if Ryan Murphy wasn't attached to it. He has a track record of starting well and then ruining it by the end of the season.
ReplyDeleteI'm hoping for neither.
ReplyDeleteSuch great cast! It's nice to see Abigail here she is such a great actress.
ReplyDeleteHe has said that he wants some scary thing with comedy... a little bit of both
ReplyDeleteI'm hoping for the best of both. :D
ReplyDeleteWell AHS has become Glee so you know (talking about the first 3-4 eps when they were always singing ugh)
ReplyDeleteWell since it's Ryan Murphy we know the first 2 seasons will be really good before the series takes a dramatic nosedive in quality and creativity in S3.
ReplyDeleteThats an interesting cast, I might give this one a go.
ReplyDeleteExactly, he really doesn't know how to continue a show past the concept and yet he keeps getting more series because the shows do well (at least to begin with because Glee has hit rock bottom ratings wise)
ReplyDeleteAt least we won't have to hear Lea Michele sing anymore.
ReplyDeleteI loved Keke Palmer in True Jackson, but really not interested in this show.
Loved her in True Jackson.
ReplyDeleteWith Lea Michele and Ariana Grande on the same set, I bet the behind the scenes footage could be more entertaining than the show itself.
ReplyDeleteHo, who knows since it's a comedy and it's from Ryan Murphy.
ReplyDeleteI mean we never thought we'd see someone sing in Freak Show because "it's going to be really dark" and yet...
Damn, I know every single one of these people so I at least have to check this show out XD Such a cool concept but I'm a little wary about Murphy doing another show.
ReplyDeleteI'm excited about Keke being on the show.
ReplyDeleteThis shows gonna be a hot mess behind the scenes! Emma Roberts and Abigail Breslin will shake everything up LOL I feel bad for Keke, Lea and Ariana. So gonna be watching this!
ReplyDeleteHow can they do a show titled Scream Queens and not have Danielle Harris in it? She's the greatest scream queen of all time!
ReplyDeleteDanielle Harris has surpassed Jamie Lee Curtis as the true Scream Queen in the last few years. Danielle should be in it too.
ReplyDeleteA mixed bag, to be sure. Jamie Lee Curtis is obviously a goddess, while Keke Palmer and Abigail Breslin are both very strong in their own rights. Plus, Joe Manganiello is phenomenal eye candy with pretty solid acting skills, so I'm looking forward to having him on the show.
ReplyDeleteBut Lea Michele is awful. Emma Roberts is awful. Ariana Grande is awful.
Yep, if he developed the idea and passed it off to somebody else, I would be all aboard this. But every show he's ever done has creatively fallen apart, so I'll pass.
ReplyDeleteNo Jamie's mother Janet Leigh is the one who started it all in Psycho.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure that A) the cast isn't complete and B) he'll get a bunch of other horror actresses to pop up. I love Danielle Harris, so I'd like to see her get some shine.
ReplyDeleteNot just those she's been in about 2 dozen horror films in the last decade or so. She's the real Scream Queen!
ReplyDelete...my point is that Jamie Lee Curtis is one of the most recognizable Scream Queens out there and it makes sense Ryan would seek her out for this series.
ReplyDeleteyay Keke & Ariana & Lea
ReplyDeleteSome big names on the cast, I actually think this will be very successful for FOX.
ReplyDeleteFreak Show hasn't been my favorite season, but 3-4 minutes of singing in five episodes doesn't make it Glee, and they weren't always singing.
ReplyDeleteAriana grande? Really? I usually don't get annoyed at just one person being cast but her being on my screen has put me right off of this show. In a big way.
ReplyDeleteThree divas on one sett? Yikes!
ReplyDeleteYou can always change the channel.
ReplyDeleteOriginally I didn't really carr about this show, especially after Ryan Murphy claimed he had 'invented' a new genre, Horror Comedy (he obviously hasn't seen the Scream movies). However, after seeing all the talented people they've cast (seriously, all of these people are awesome) I'm really excited to see this. If the writing is good this show could be amazing!
ReplyDeleteI love the cast
ReplyDeleteYeah! I like this, especially about Lea Michelle.
ReplyDeleteI don't even know who she is :P
ReplyDeleteFor me:
Old school: Jamie Lee Curtis
New: Neve Campbell, Sarah Michelle Gellar and Jennifer Love Hewitt.
I guess I'm too old for this new wave :P
She's both old school and new school though. She was in Halloween 4 and 5 as a little girl and then in Rob Zombies remakes of Halloween as an adult then after those 2 she's been in about 20 more since then.
ReplyDeleteYeah, totally my bad.
ReplyDeleteNow I looked at her IMDB page to realize that :P
It's not just Lea and Ariana. Joe has had some interesting set reports/rumors from True Blood. It's going to be diva central.
ReplyDeleteDanielle Harris probably wasn't a big enough name. Which is a shame because she is a modern Scream Queen.
ReplyDeleteRyan Murphy is the exact opposite of someone like Chuck Lorre, Shonda Rhimes, or Dick Wolf in which their shows tend to grow over time. He flatlines quickly and yet he gets shows because he can get them sampled.
ReplyDeleteSo so so so excited about this show
ReplyDeleteI'm on the fence with this so much. I love the Scream movies in all their cheesy glory and this sounds like Ryan Murphy's version of those movies. The only thing I've liked that involved him are half of S1 Horror Story about 2 seasons of Nip Tuck, I'll try it but I won't have my expectations up. I hope he proves me wrong.
