The analysis below is based on the early household numbers and are NOT the same as the numbers that will be posted in the above table later. (See the About section below)

Ratings Breakdown:
CBS was the clear winner in the household overnights on this final Tuesday in January despite populating the evening with encores of “NCIS” (#1 for the night: 7.8 rating/12 share) and spin-off “NCIS: New Orleans” (7.4/11) from 8-10 p.m. ET. A 10 p.m. telecast of “CSI,” which CBS seems to be rushing off the air this season, scored a dominant 6.6/11 opposite repeats of “Chicago Fire” on NBC (2.3/ 4) and freshman “Forever” on ABC (2.0/ 3), which did not necessarily earn its full season renewal. Comparably, this was a stronger overnight performance for “CSI” than its regularly scheduled Sunday 10 p.m. time period this season.
Distant second-place ABC opened the night with an encore telecast of “Shark Tank,” which was on the map with a second-place 4.0/ 6 from 8-9 p.m. And that led into recent entry “Marvel’s Agent Carter” at an uneventful 3.1/ 5 at 9 p.m. (#2).
Over at NBC, two more episodes of soon-to-conclude “Parks and Recreations” lost steam from one week earlier with a 2.3/ 4 at 8 p.m. (#5: – 8 percent) and a 1.9/ 3 at 8:30 p.m. (#5: -10 percent). Next were hiatus-bound sitcoms “Marry Me” (#3t: 1.7/ 3 at 9 p.m.) and sophomore “About a Boy” (#3: 1.9/ 3 at 9:30 p.m.), which have no chance of a renewal, followed by the aforementioned “Chicago Fire” encore at a 2.3/ 4 (#2) at 10 p.m. As a reminder, “Undateable” on NBC will begin its second season on Tuesday, March 17 at 9 p.m. ET following “The Voice” and into new comedy “One Big Happy” at 9:30 p.m. ET from writer Liz Feldman and executive producer Ellen DeGeneres.
Elsewhere, The CW had nothing unusual to report care of dramas “The Flash” (#4: 3.0/ 5) and veteran “Supernatural” (#5: 1.6/ 2), which is a good thing. And demo friendly “MasterChef Junior” on Fox (#3: 3.6/ 5) led into repeats of sitcoms “New Girl” (#5: 1.5/ 2) and “The Mindy Project” (#5: 1.3/ 2) from 9-10 p.m.

Each day (except Sunday) during the main TV Season we post the TV Ratings for the previous nights primetime shows for the major broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, CW, FOX, NBC). Cable Network ratings will be added to the Ratings Database.
The first item that gets posted (normally around 2pm GMT) is the early overnight analysis based on the early household numbers (these are not the same as the Total Viewers and 18-49 Demo numbers that are posted later).
Next, if available, we will post the Top 25 Market 18-49 Ratings to give you a rough idea of the ratings to following.
Later on (normally between 4pm-5pm GMT) we post the official early overnight Total Viewers and 18-49 Demo numbers in the table above (We also where possible now post the 18-34 and 25-54 Demo Numbers).
Finally, later in the evening (10pm-11pm GMT) or the following day, the final adjusted ratings numbers are released, these are then posted in the Ratings Database. The Final Adjusted numbers are what we use for all our Renew/Cancellation Tables, Full Season Tables, Ratings Scorecards etc (see below). Friday's Final Adjusted Ratings are normally available on the following Monday.
