This table shows the early overnight ratings. These ratings are normally adjusted later in the day when all the ratings have been consolidated to take into account any local preemptions and/or overruns. You can find all the final adjusted numbers in our Ratings Database. (See the About section below for details about ratings)
No early analysis today.
Each day (except Sunday) during the main TV Season we post the TV Ratings for the previous nights primetime shows for the major broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, CW, FOX, NBC). Cable Network ratings will be added to the Ratings Database.
The first item that gets posted (normally around 2pm GMT) is the early overnight analysis based on the early household numbers (these are not the same as the Total Viewers and 18-49 Demo numbers that are posted later).
Next, if available, we will post the Top 25 Market 18-49 Ratings to give you a rough idea of the ratings to following.
Later on (normally between 4pm-5pm GMT) we post the official early overnight Total Viewers and 18-49 Demo numbers in the table above (We also where possible now post the 18-34 and 25-54 Demo Numbers).
Finally, later in the evening (10pm-11pm GMT) or the following day, the final adjusted ratings numbers are released, these are then posted in the Ratings Database. The Final Adjusted numbers are what we use for all our Renew/Cancellation Tables, Full Season Tables, Ratings Scorecards etc (see below). Friday's Final Adjusted Ratings are normally available on the following Monday.
If you’re interested in Ratings/Renewals/Cancellations then we have a number of resources here at SpoilerTV that we recommend you check out.
Oh no Sleepy Hollow!
ReplyDeleteOhhh hoping for The Originals to keep around 0,8 at least keep it around 0,7.
ReplyDeleteSurpised JTV didn't get a post Golden Globe boost!
Who knows how jane adjusts. We shall see
ReplyDeleteTruth! It could adjust up!
ReplyDeleteEverything is down, oddly.
ReplyDeleteIKR that is weird. I thought everything would rise. The only Network that did well for their circumstances was the CW and it will do well tonight and tomorrow night
ReplyDeleteFrom the top 25 markets, it looks like a somehow underwhelming night for everyone. No particularly horrible results but not great either. Gotham will probably still win the night despite being considerably down from two weeks ago. The Originals looks solid though, I think it probably managed to return to 0.7 or close to it. Caslte continues to look very bad. I think ABC should move it to Sundays next year instead of Nashville actually.
ReplyDeleteCan you explain the difference between TOP 25 rating and 18/49 rating? Thanks.
ReplyDeleteTop 25 is from the top 25 Markets ans 18/49 are in all nielsen households, I think
ReplyDeleteMarc watched JtV live, then 5 more times from DVR, so he overslept today.
ReplyDeleteEverything is down in top 25. I wouldn't worry about it too much,
ReplyDeleteWow, Gotham became the "King of Monday"!!! I really hope Jane does good in the audience!!! I know it's already renewed but good numbers will be great!!!
ReplyDeleteViewing levels were probably down I guess. And most shows came from a one week break, that tends to hurt. The reality shows both seem to be up actually, and those aired last week!
ReplyDeleteWhat do you think everybody will get?
ReplyDeleteAs usual, these are not scientific and sometimes there are unexpected variations in finals but my guesses are:
ReplyDelete- 2 Broke Girls: 2.0-2.1
- Mike and Molly: 1.9
- Scorpion: 2.0-2.1
- NCIS LA: 1.6
- The Bachelor: 2.0
- Castle: 1.3
- The Apprentice: 2.0
- State of Affairs: 1.0-1.1
- Gotham: 2.2
- Sleepy Hollow: 1.3
- The Originals: 0.6-0.7
- The Virgin: 0.5
Probably won't wake up till next Monday! #lmao
ReplyDeleteIt's the first time I see you here! Didn't know you also came here!
ReplyDeleteI think it hit a new low though. I expect 1.3
ReplyDeleteJane :(
ReplyDeleteHe might have done it 20 times for the pilot.
ReplyDeleteGood to see Jane at .6 It's the first time since October, right? Thought it would do better cause of the GG though. I hope The 100 does well too tomorrow
ReplyDeleteSame as me. I can't wait for those three shows.
ReplyDeleteOuch Sleepy Hollow! Looks like it bombed badly.
ReplyDeleteBut honestly, considering the quality of the episodes lately, I really can't say I'm surprised, but I am sad to see it doing so horribly. Despite of how it has been lately, I still want it to do good numbers, if anything so that it has time to come back to its usual self
Doesn't look bad at all for Jane
ReplyDeleteTop 25 are tricky, it may be a 0.5, but it is still a decent rating for the show.
ReplyDeleteI also hope The 100 does well tomorrow!
Gotham was really good last night...glad to see it do so good
ReplyDeleteBy the way, surprised we don't get something from Marc; I thought he'd be waiting eagerly to say something about JtV
ReplyDeleteAhahaaha
ReplyDeleteShows rarely get a Golden Globe's boost. B99 hit a series low after winning a Golden Globe
ReplyDeleteDo holidays affect ratings? Most shows look down
ReplyDeleteIt would be disappointing if Mike & Molly were down, seeing as it managed a 2.1 with a smaller lead in/big game competition last week. I'm guessing it is just more compatible with Big Bang. I know both TBBT and M&M make me laugh, but 2 Broke Girls is painful to watch
ReplyDeleteI'd consider 0,6 a boost for Jane The Virgin, because it usually gets scores of 0.4 and 0.5. In fact, the last and only other time that it it got a 0.6 was on the day that it premiered on US TV
ReplyDeleteLast week it had a 2.0 in the top 25 markets though.
ReplyDeleteI think PUT levels were really lower last night, but we shall see once we get prelims.
Usually, yes. Some holidays more than others. I wouldn't worry too much about this week's ratings as long as they rebound next time
ReplyDeleteIs just really weird.
ReplyDeleteThought people will check it out just cause of curiosity, but seemingly was wrong.
ReplyDeleteJane did pretty well.
ReplyDeleteIt was a holiday, I wouldn't put too much into it. Besides, these numbers are still higher than the fall ones for the most part.
ReplyDeleteNot something ridiculous like MLK.
ReplyDeleteA little tidbit for you: NCIS is the highest rated show in the metric for folks above 55+ pulling, in average, 15.07.
ReplyDeleteIt's been renewed. Calm the handwringing until next year.
ReplyDeleteGotham looks down. The Bachelor and CA look up from last week and were both on.
ReplyDeleteIs that necessary?
ReplyDeleteI believe I saw that one in the same place you did ahha ;)
ReplyDeleteTop 25 is the demographic rating of 18-49 year olds who were watching in the top 25 largest markets (by population) in the US. The 18-49 is the same demographic rating, but with the rest of the US markets factored in.
ReplyDeleteProbably. You can see some articles but others you can't. Which is a bummer.
ReplyDeleteLooks like only CA and Bachelor had a good night
ReplyDeleteABC:
ReplyDeleteThe Bachelor: 2.1/2.1
Castle: 1.4
2GB. 2.2
ReplyDeleteM&M: 2.1
Scorpion: 2.2
NCISLA: 1.5
Celebrity Apprentice: 1.8/1.9
ReplyDeleteSOA: 1.1
Gotham: 2.1
ReplyDeleteSH. 1.3
Ouch
ReplyDelete:( TO
ReplyDeleteRatings are now in the table.
ReplyDeleteRough night for Gotham, Castle, SH
ReplyDeleteScorpion didn't get any bump
Still decent for CA
Good for Bachelor
Castle's audience seems to be actively rejecting it.
ReplyDeleteThe half-hours were: 1.6/1.3
Horrible night for FOX. Both shows had disastrous weeks. At least Gotham can take comfort in its renewal.
ReplyDeleteLooks like renewal doesn't give any sort of bump to shows.
ReplyDeleteNeither does a special airing after football.
It's time for Castle to move
ReplyDeleteFOX has an interesting track record. They always see bumps for the first weeks of American Idol and then it collapses hard by Spring. I'll be interested to see if this week's Monday ratings are an indication that the trend will continue.
ReplyDeleteI have noticed that too! Hopefully Empire stays strong
ReplyDeleteYes! Season finale for The Originals.
ReplyDeleteStill good for Apprentice and Bachelor
ReplyDeleteDisappointing for Gotham and Originals... Both have been renewed though so who cares lol just gonna enjoy
I can't believe how low Castle has gotten... Their loyal fan base has permanently checked out I guess... I loved last weeks episode
Series low for Sleepy Hollow: it is defenitely not clicking with its audience anymore
ReplyDeleteHuh?
ReplyDeleteI imagine that it is because people come to check American Idol and then they go away.
ReplyDeleteI think that you are completely correct. That's what I've attributed it to also.
ReplyDeleteSleepy Holow: canceled or moved to sacrifical timeslot (thursdays at 9)?
ReplyDeleteOuch Sleepy Hollow and Castle. :( But on the bright side, Castle did go up from last week and its series low.
ReplyDeleteI don't know if the move to making it more procedural will help
ReplyDeleteIt has to fall even more to get cancelled. At this level it will be moved
ReplyDeleteSacrificial timeslot.
ReplyDeleteI think NBC suffers a bit from the same problem. But not on the same magnitude.
ReplyDeleteThe only way it will help if it is starts feeling more like season 1 and people catch up.
ReplyDeleteIn a way it could help as it could introduce Gotham viewers to the show without knowing most of the storylines, but if the quality of the show doesn't improve, viewers will drop it anyway half way through the episode
Go Jane! number 1 show on the CW mondays in the CW target audience 18-34 well done, wonder if all the promoting will pay off and Jane will beat TO come spring we shall see
ReplyDeleteSleepy Hollow halves: 1.4/1.2
ReplyDeleteThat's gotta hurt
Castle's are worse. 1.6/1.3
ReplyDeleteOuch that has to sting
ReplyDeleteThey do. And it intensifies when The Voice is off schedule. I think that's why NBC is investing heavily in reality show and variety shows. Celebrity Apprentice is doing OK for its task, but if they had something else to stand beside it, it would make things a lot easier for NBC.
ReplyDelete2 Broke zgirls did deccentHas it ever beat M& M before?CWs about what I expected.
ReplyDelete2 Broke Girls constantly outrates Mike and Molly
ReplyDeleteWasn't this supposed to be the first episode of Sleepy Hollow's "creative retooling". If so, this is why you don't retool a show.
ReplyDeleteI'm honestly surprised about Castle; it had one of the most loyal audiences I've ever seen and all of the sudden they start disappearing. At least its 18-34 are decent
ReplyDeleteNeither, a a Fringe it moves to Fridays until it hits syndication.
ReplyDeleteI think the retooling was for next season
ReplyDeleteProbably, since we had a case of the week, but I think 2 weeks ago's attrocious episodes had a bigger impact on the ratings than the case of the week format
ReplyDeleteYep, most of these episodes are already written.
ReplyDeleteSH's first season was full of case of the weeks. Did it loose that on 2nd season?
ReplyDeleteI don't remember MM ever beating 2BG
ReplyDeleteI'd worry about The Originals, but I don't have to, because the CW already renewed it. JTV as well. It's nice to be able to relax when ratings come out.
ReplyDeleteSleepy Hollow is slipping not only in ratings, but in quality. It's sad, but it's hard for quirky shows to keep going sometimes.
Which are the largest markets?
ReplyDeleteSleepy Hollow is far from syndication; it only has 31 episodes by the end of this season.
ReplyDeleteBut Fridays is a choice for the show to move
Really? Thanks.I didn't know that.I don't follow M&M ratings but i thought it always did slightly better
ReplyDeleteNYC is the largest market, I think.
ReplyDeleteSacrificial timeslot. I also think they could maybe (just maybe) try it on Fridays. It's the kind of genre show that could work there maybe. I say: Thursdays at 9 for the fall, and then try it out in January on Fridays.
ReplyDeleteSeason 2 still had them, but was more serialized. But the problem wasn't the serialization, it was how the tone of the show changed and suddenly it became truly boring as the writers made everything too serious
ReplyDeleteSleepy Hollow, why so low? -.-
ReplyDeleteI truly haven't watched sleepy hollow as of yet. Might binge-watch through it.
ReplyDeleteThey have similar ratings, but 2 Broke Girls is the one that usually rates higher
ReplyDeleteThanks.I don't follow M& M ratings,though t it always did a little better than 2BG
ReplyDeleteMaybe the season 4 premiere? But aside from that I don't recall either
ReplyDeleteLooks like you were right about MM after all ;)
ReplyDeleteI blame it on the previous episode: it was so horribly boring that I don't blame anyone who quit on the show. I almost did
ReplyDeleteThe retooling is suppose to be for next season and there are suppose to be some reshooting for the last couple of episodes of this season.
ReplyDeleteAnd as for the actually retooling itself, it actually shows that Fox is interested in fixing the show as the ratings and complaints from fans and critics alike about the direction of season 2 haven't been positive.
The top25 markets were very misleading in this case.
ReplyDeleteWait until the season is over, it may not be worthy.
ReplyDeletelol fantastic!
ReplyDeleteI hope it won't be cancelled :(
ReplyDeleteGrimm is doing absolutely awful in syndication to the point where it hasn't charted yet in the top 100. I'm not sure why any network would be encouraged by syndication deals for a genre show as they syndicate poorly.
ReplyDeleteI think the biggest advantage to Sleepy Hollow is FOX is still in a state of repair and they could use a reliable fill in until their new shows are tested.
That's just very poor for LA. It had a season high two weeks ago. Falling 0.5 is a lot. And it had no particularly strong competition, it should have held Scorpion better.
ReplyDeleteI would say:
Winners: Gotham, Scorpion, 2 Broke Girls, Mike and Molly, The Bachelor, The Apprentice
Okay: The Originals, The Virgin
Losers: NCIS LA, Castle, State of Affairs
The direction of the show has been awful. While I don't usually like procedurials, if it in any way fixes Sleepy Hollow, I'm all in for it
ReplyDeleteSo the Fringe treatment
ReplyDeleteThe serialization is not the problem. Turning the show into a soap opera and sidelining fan favorites are what fans and critics have been complaining about.
ReplyDeleteThere's always some cable network or streaming platform willing to get absolutely any show, the key factor is how much money they pay for it.
ReplyDeleteSleepy Hollow, being also somewhat procedurial, has a chance of striking a good syndication package since new viewers could be interested on it, if anything for the case of the week aspect; procedurials usually get better syndication treatment than serialized shows
You forgot the biggest loser of the night Sleepy Hollow
ReplyDeleteI also hope it won't, I want it to fix itself, not to die
ReplyDeleteUnless all of Fox's midseason shows perform well then it's sacrificial timeslot
ReplyDeleteI would go
ReplyDeleteWinners- Scorpion, The Bachelor, Gotham, 2BG, M&M
Honorable Mention-TO, JTV, Celeb App
Losers- same as yours + SH
People finally opening their eyes how horrid it is.
ReplyDeleteIts became a bad show a couple years ago. Now its horrid.
ReplyDeleteThere are so many horrid shows that never fall enough, unfortunately. Sleepy Hollow is not between these.
ReplyDeleteEverything at 10PM was a loser, that's not a pretty sight
ReplyDeleteThe case of the week aspect could help, but Grimm also has similar case of the week tones. I really can't explain it, but for some reason unless it's a police, FBI, or law show, people tend to give up on it in syndication. It's why we'll still look at CSI, NCIS, Law and Order etc. in syndication twenty years later.
ReplyDeleteThe episode was horrible, that's why :( The show needs a major retooling, because S2 is focusing on all the wrong characters.
ReplyDeletecastle dropped from 1.6 to 1.3 in half hours. O_o
ReplyDeleteGotham only got 2.2, ugh it had a great episode last night:(
Castle is doing GREAT in 18-34 1.1 (the golden key)
ReplyDeleteothers 10pm shows (recently)
ChicagoPD 1.2
Revenge 0.5
NCISLA 0.8
SOAf 0.5
Elementary 0.7
stalker 0.7
Parenthood 0.8
Forever 0.6
POI 1.0
CF 0.9
Not that it matters since both were renewed but I'm sad for The Originals. Not bad for JTV but I thought it might see a minor bump from GG.

I forgot SH, obviously a loser last night. I think Apprentice is a winner though, that's very solid filler for NBC. It basically outrates everything that is not the voice and (maybe) the blacklist!
ReplyDeleteI had forgotten.
ReplyDeleteThey tied at 2.6 that night. MM was clearly more impressive though since Girls was leading out from Mother, but raw numbers wise, it was a tie.
ReplyDeleteNo problem
ReplyDeleteThat's for sure. But I would argue that LA's improvement is also connected to the much better timeslot it has this year:
ReplyDelete- Competition wise: Castle has fallen A LOT and state of affairs is much, much weaker than the blacklist (Intelligence and blacklist probably had overlap in audience)
- Lead-in wise: Scorpion is higher rated than Mom was last year and, more importantly, it is much more compatible with a drama like LA than a comedy like Mom ever was with Intelligence.
LA is still clearly stronger ,but I don't think the gap is as wide as raw numbers would suggest.
Something like that. But the short seasons will probably be its undoing. It won't be financially viable. I think that if the show has to have any future, it needs a full season next year. If they give it 24 episodes, it will finish Season 3 with 55 episodes. With another 24 episode season after, that's nearly 80 and that could be syndicated already I think, so it would probably make a 4th season viable. If they go for short seasons again it will probably be cancelled next year.
ReplyDeleteTrue, it's always very tricky to use them!
ReplyDeleteLA had a season high when:
ReplyDelete1-there was no Castle airing (even Castle being down I believe they have some crossed viewership);
2-it was the first week of the year, almost everything was higher (probably people were anxious for new tv).
So, I´d say LA came back to earth, this rating is more or less on pair with the season to date...at least Castle does consistently better in the 18-34 demo:)
Yikes at those ratings.
ReplyDeleteJust like that count of Monte Cristo ripoff.
ReplyDeleteThey didn't marry the couple, people quit.
ReplyDeleteI think the comedies in the 8pm hour did great. Scorpion's ratings are underwhelming because of the exposure it got after the AFC Championship. I think many were expecting that it would pull in high 2's. And NCIS: LA and Castle seems to be hurting each other.
ReplyDeleteThat's true, I had forgotten there was no Castle on that night. But it still seems to me that it should have done a bit better because the lead-in was still better than late fall and the competition easier.
ReplyDeleteno
ReplyDeletejust like any other show, it is telling a story in it's way , not the way you want it to be..it had, Icahabod, Katrina, Abbie, Jenny& Frank, what OTHER characters are there????
ReplyDeletewhtas horrid is those Soaps on in prime time
ReplyDeleteIt won't , it foes grat in +3
ReplyDeletemarry what couple??
ReplyDeleteNice for Scorpion tying for No.1 :)
ReplyDeleteThey did marry the couple. lol
ReplyDeleteyou are dead Sleepy. RIP
ReplyDeleteAt this point the Sleepy Hollow I fell in love with last season is gone. This show isn't remotely the same and it makes me sad. How can it change so much, so fast?
ReplyDeleteI think Castle should be cancelled. It has to be expensive and it's just not doing the type of ratings it needs to cover those costs. No idea how ABC could justify giving a show that's creatively and commercially tapped out another 22 episodes to wheel spin, so I'd make this the final season and call it a day. Either renew Forever and give it a chance to grow or pick up a new procedural and put it behind Dancing with the Stars/The Bachelor.
ReplyDeleteI wonder how The Flash and Supernatural will do tonight since their only competition will be re-runs and the SOTU. I don't expect increases, I just don't want big drops.
ReplyDeleteSoA ended a month ago.
ReplyDeleteForever's in it's first season and the ratings are terrible already. I can't imagine that it could ever be a strong show for ABC. If they cancelled Castle they'll need a new show.
ReplyDeleteSOA is State of Affairs here.
ReplyDeleteNo SOA is Sons of Anarchy and it always will be.
ReplyDeleteWe're debating that which can't be debated.
ReplyDeleteI am still not worried about Castle. Rating normally low in January. I think Castle is still the best show on TV.
ReplyDeleteSleepy Hollow doesn't deserve to be cancelled. It's still a great show to me. It's a pity so many people hate Katrina & Ichtrina. I hope Ichtrina stay together. I'm not against ichabbie I like it but Katrina doesn't deserve to be alone. Ichtrina is the canon pair of the original movie it would mean too much fanservice to split them up and I don't want that. Plus Ichtrina to me is cool. If we get S3 I bet it'll have fanservice canon. I hope for no cliffhanger this season
ReplyDeleteSleepy Hollow, would you look at that. I feared for the ratings after last night's episode. Smh. This is so upsetting. I'm still holding out for some hope that it will get saved. I still very much love the show and would like a season 3.
ReplyDelete
