This table shows the early overnight ratings. These ratings are normally adjusted later in the day when all the ratings have been consolidated to take into account any local preemptions and/or overruns. You can find all the final adjusted numbers in our Ratings Database. (See the About section below for details about ratings)
No early ratings today.
Each day (except Sunday) during the main TV Season we post the TV Ratings for the previous nights primetime shows for the major broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, CW, FOX, NBC). Cable Network ratings will be added to the Ratings Database.
The first item that gets posted (normally around 2pm GMT) is the early overnight analysis based on the early household numbers (these are not the same as the Total Viewers and 18-49 Demo numbers that are posted later).
Next, if available, we will post the Top 25 Market 18-49 Ratings to give you a rough idea of the ratings to following.
Later on (normally between 4pm-5pm GMT) we post the official early overnight Total Viewers and 18-49 Demo numbers in the table above (We also where possible now post the 18-34 and 25-54 Demo Numbers).
Finally, later in the evening (10pm-11pm GMT) or the following day, the final adjusted ratings numbers are released, these are then posted in the Ratings Database. The Final Adjusted numbers are what we use for all our Renew/Cancellation Tables, Full Season Tables, Ratings Scorecards etc (see below). Friday's Final Adjusted Ratings are normally available on the following Monday.
If you’re interested in Ratings/Renewals/Cancellations then we have a number of resources here at SpoilerTV that we recommend you check out.
Looks like revenge probably did around a 0.8-0.9
ReplyDeleteRevenge :(
ReplyDeleteit was expected anyways, it was facing the golden globes
ReplyDeleteGalavant looks like it collapsed as expected
ReplyDeleteI know, I hope ABC will take advantage of the TCAs to announce its fate
ReplyDeleteWell, I saw that coming with Galavant, still pretty bumbed to see it doing low 1s :(
ReplyDeleteWhy are the ratings so delayed?
ReplyDeleteOuch Galavant.
ouch @ abc. golden globes really killed abc
ReplyDeleteIt does not matter what revenge gets anymore :) I will be watching thr globes tonight and revenge tomorrow how was the episode?
ReplyDeleteSo it Hardly Fell :)
ReplyDeletepretty awesome :) can't wait for next week
ReplyDeletethe episode was fantastic!
ReplyDeleteNo analysis from Marc I suppose (which also means nothing about Jane's Globe win yet).
ReplyDeleteCool :) I saw it is rated TV-14 for violence but i have not watched the episode yet
ReplyDeleteI hope it's a 0.9 so it stays "stable" at awful lows
ReplyDeletenext week episode will be and I get why but it's exciting when you see the final minutes of ep 12.
ReplyDeleteI'm just guessing, cause in the top 25 its at a 1.0, and normally its a tenth or 2 below its top 25
ReplyDeleteit doesn't matter anymore, its going to get cancelled anyways. in the meantime i'm enjoying without any ratings anxieties
ReplyDeleteas long as they end the show properly I'm fine with it
ReplyDeleteme too!! all i want at this point is for it to get a proper ending
ReplyDeleteCannot wait but i di have to watxh the globes first so therefore I cannot watch revenge until tomorrow and should stay off of the internet
ReplyDeleteGreat ratings for Fox and CBS against the Golden Globes!
ReplyDeleteI want to watch the Globes too but I can't find any links :'(
ReplyDeleteWhy CBS continues to push MS, I don't know. The show has had plenty of good football-fueled 60M lead-ins and just doesn't cut it. TAR was doing 25-30% higher in demo. I don't see CBS riding this old horse for 3 more seasons.
ReplyDeleteMarc is probably hungover from celebrating Gina's win at the Golden Globes.
ReplyDeleteYoutube! I think they have it there
ReplyDeleteMarc is just not going to shut up about JtV tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteif it ends on a cliffhanger I'll be going through depression for real
ReplyDeleteFemale skewing ABC got killed by a female skewing awards show. It was dumb for ABC to schedule originals against the Globes.
ReplyDeletelast year Revenge managed all by itself to score a 1.6 rating point and 5.71 millions viewers
ReplyDeletei think that the writers will be smart enough to wrap it. i mean this is a show that you could easily just finish anytime you want. all they have to do is kill malcom black, takedown victoria and give emily some type of closure
ReplyDeleteEveryone should be proud of Gina for overcoming the odds and winning against such stiff competition last night.
ReplyDeleteBut yes Marc has a lot to gloat over. Not only did Gina win a Globe for JtV, but CW renewed the show yesterday as well!
and kill David!
ReplyDeleteit was @ 9 last year. it was in a higher viewed timeslot
ReplyDeleteI know :), just nostalgic of last year
ReplyDeleteI like Gina Rodriguez but the way the critics drool over her is borderline ridic, like she's the 2nd coming or smtg! J L-D shoulda won. interesting if the recognition helps JtV's ratings.
ReplyDeleteThe recognition probably won't help ratings, but it doesn't matter since CW already renewed the show.
ReplyDeleteI really really hope they will anounce it at TCA this week, that it will end. There should be enough time to end this properly!
ReplyDeleteIt helps The Good Wife. And has a wealthy educated audience.
ReplyDeleteIt's doing well enough that I think CBS will renew it but it certainly doesn't make the most of those football inflated lead ins. Maybe CBS could try Scorpion in the 8pm slot next season? I'd rather they did that than move Scorpion to 10pm.
ReplyDeleteI surprised MS doesn't hold much of 60 mins lead in
ReplyDeleteCBS is not gonna move Scorpion to Sundays. They have done so much for the show that they are not gonna throw it to a low-rated night.
ReplyDelete"Overcoming the odds"? She's a pretty young starlet on a buzzy show. That's what the Globes are about. Plus, let's not act like she's the first Latina to ever win a Golden Globe.
ReplyDeleteLast week, 60 Minutes had an 0.7, while MS had a 1.5.
ReplyDeleteScorpion would probably benefit more from a football lead-in than 60M or MS.
ReplyDeleteBut CBS, will probably keep MS in its a lot since it attracts a wealthy audience.
Nielsen ratings are delayed currently. As soon as we have them we'll be sure to post.
ReplyDeleteThe "odds" being that she's on a CW show. That alone made the success of Gina and JtV an uphill battle.
ReplyDeletei hope that they announce it as a final season, instead of canceling it like that
ReplyDeleteI have an idea. Can you make a STV+ page for The Golden Globes and The Oscars? Add ratings, recent stories...
ReplyDeleteResurrection ratings get more dreadful with every passing week,i really hope Revenge doesn't hit any now lows today!
ReplyDeleteShe didn't overcome the odds - most ~experts~ had her as the fave to win .... the GG voters love honoring things that are shiny and new and buzzy. I'm not saying GR is not good in JtV, but I think J L-D or Taylor Schilling were more deserving
ReplyDeleteDO you know what date ABC panel will be held?
ReplyDeleteI'm curious to know if anyone here has followed up on the extent to which Golden Globes or Emmy wins help with the ratings of television shows. For example, just having an Oscar or Grammy nomination has a big impact on movie or respective album sales, but I've never really paid attention to what these awards do for TV show ratings. I would have assumed that they would help.
ReplyDeleteI hope so as well. I heard last night was fantastic and i still have to watch it
ReplyDeleteeven though i know that it will most likely be canceled i still hope it doesn't hit a new low
ReplyDeleteI did hear that episode 11,the one before was the best episode of the season yet.
ReplyDeleteWhen is the TCA panel?Do u know the date?
ReplyDeleteI'm a HUGE OINTB fan so I will be the first to say that I'm sad/mad that my OITNB got shut out at the GGs.
ReplyDeleteBut even so it's still noteworthy that a CW show got nominated for an award at all (let alone winning) espcially when Netflix and HBO are far more "shiny/new/buzzy" than the CW.
I have the feeling it won't. Last week i had the feeling it was going to Hit a low and now i think it will not. Maybe it happens like that :D
ReplyDeleteim not sure i think its around february or march
ReplyDeletethis wednesday
ReplyDeleteif it hits a new low it will be expected anyways, i mean look at how hard galavant fell
ReplyDeleteB99 ratings went down a bit afte it won GG in 2014.
ReplyDeleteIt was Great bur i have been hearing more positive stuff about last night's episode. The promo looked incredibly promising
ReplyDeleteIKR in comparison revenge Held up better than Galavant and resurrection
ReplyDeleteEveryone knew Galavant would tank against GG though!
ReplyDeletelast nights episodes was definitely waaaaaay better then last weeks
ReplyDeleteThanks for the info.
ReplyDeleteWow you are making me too excited :D
ReplyDeleteAt least the globes are not affaird of shaking up unlike the emmys
ReplyDeleteIt's hard to quantify the impact these awards have on TV shows, but I think it's neglible.
ReplyDeletePersonally I would say that the numerous Emmy-wins helped Breaking Bad and Midern Family's ratings as more curious viewers caught up on the series, but I haven't seen any positive effect from wins at the Golden Globes in recent years.
i know thats what i'm saying, GG crashed everything in abc last night
ReplyDeleteThat's good news.Whenever it happens, the show should go out with a bang, not limping both creatively & ratings wise!
ReplyDeletethanks :)
ReplyDeleteGalvant = #ByeFelicia
ReplyDeleteGalavanttttttttttttttttttttt I knew it was going to fall that hard....but still my new favorite show very different!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteABC will never learn!
ReplyDeleteikr. ugh! abc is so stupid.
ReplyDeleteIt is completely their fault that everything is dipping in ratings. They could have brought revenge back in March with a stronger lead-in. Resurrection should just be cancelled and galavant should have premiered on a different day at the end of february
ReplyDeleteI agree. I've always liked the Globes more than the Emmys.
ReplyDeleteThen, it went back up dramatically (for some odd reason) from a 1.4 (1/14) to 1.9 (1/21).
ReplyDeleteThat it did.
ReplyDeleteAgreed with every word you just said.
ReplyDeleteDH also suffered the same fate for their 7th season!
ReplyDeletethey could've easily just burned off resurrections episodes in january, cause it will be cancelled anyways. i agree with you about galavant they could've premiered it in February the week after the grammy's and brought back Revenge on March 7 since secrets and lies will be having a 2 hour premiere
ReplyDeleteAbc needs to learn from their mistakes
ReplyDeleteTrue! Revenge will rise in march at first! That Would have been the best solution
ReplyDeleteThey've exhausted all their brain promoting the TGIT block!
ReplyDeleteThx :)
ReplyDeleteShe overcame the odds when she managed to have the odds in her favor in the first place! Remember how everyone thought that this show wouldn't succeed on the CW and that it would be the first one cancelled? So to go from that to being a favorite to win, is pretty impressive, I think.
ReplyDeleteThe Lack of Promotion revenge gets is ridiciolous. Scandal, HTGAWM and GA have enough viewers and really good ratings. Why promote them that much still?! There are other show that really need the promotion. I do not get their whole logic
ReplyDeletethe only difference is DH was strong enough to handle all of this tough competition
ReplyDeletei don't why they promote it so much. why waste resources on something thats doing so well. the could use that money to promote the new shows more, and some of the shows that are struggling ratings wise
ReplyDelete100% agree. I do not understand they way abc works. Sure, they have tons of Hits but it they Would have even more if everything was promoted equally
ReplyDeleteAt that time,apparently not.Ratings took a big dive and voila,final 8th season!
ReplyDeleteABC again airing new episodes when a huge award show is on. Of course they will be low
ReplyDeleteabc has this habit of picking favorites. once they have a favorite, they will only promote those shows, and forget that everything else on that network even exists
ReplyDeleteStupid abc, I mean i love their shows but still
ReplyDeleteThat's because those shows can bring in big ratings
ReplyDeletethe lowest DH ever went was a 1.8, but other then it was normally a show that was in the high 2s and low 3s. plus it was in its final season anyways
ReplyDeletethe previous show runner before paul lee used promote all the shows equally
ReplyDeleteRevenge got a lot of promos for its winter premiere
ReplyDeleteMost people tuned out because of the direction of the show
Galavant, we hardly knew thee
ReplyDeletei watch abc a lot. let me tell you revenge only got like a couple of promos in this whole 3 week break. they promoted it during its repeats and that was when not many people were watching. and at like 1 in the morning after the new years special was over.
ReplyDeleteIt got 3-4 during New Years special
ReplyDeleteDeclining ratings are due to writing and plot- last yr got a 1.8 and 1.6 against the globes
i watched the entire new years special and i only saw like 1 promo after the new years special was over
ReplyDeleteMeh numbers for CBS given their lead-in. I'm glad Bob's is renewed.
ReplyDeleteMore like Galatank.
So did I it got more like 3
ReplyDeleteIn the end it was down nearly a full point vs last yr
More like Galatankkkkkkkkk ( u have to sing it lol)
ReplyDeletei think that your forgetting that it was in a higher viewed timeslot with the the bachelor as a lead in. Revenge is in a very difficult timeslot. i'm not saying that the writing and plot didn't have anything to do with its declining ratings, cause it most certainly did, what I'm saying is that the lack of promotion and timeslot also contributed to its declining ratings. in my opinion both the writing, and the timeslot contributed to its declining ratings. if it was on at 9 and it came back from the 3 week break, and not to mention the lack of promotion it would come back with a 1.3 and probably get like a 1.1 against the globes. ratings will still be down due to the writing but not to the point where it falls below a 1.0.
ReplyDeleteI think it's for the same reason that more popular musical artists get far more record label support than the less successful artist signed under the same level. These artists have proven that they have the ability to appeal to fans, which in turn means that if you pour more money into promoting them, you will bet bigger returns. I'd love for some of my favorite shows to get more promotion and attention, but I also understand that the TV execs are running a business, not a charity which is why if my favorite show sin't doing very well, producers will be more likely to ignore them than give them that extra push. Similarly, shows that prove to be really good get the ratings boosting Thursday slot, whereas shows that are not doing so well get relegated to a worst time slot.
ReplyDeleteI didn't realize you spoke for literally every Revenge fan.
ReplyDeletethis is a stupid question but how are top 25 ratings different from regular ratings?
ReplyDeleteWednesday, i think
ReplyDeleteHow dare you mock my show
ReplyDeleteWhen we have yet to know
The final demo score for Gaaaaaaalavant???
It's not a stupid question. The top 25 is the fast numbers from the top 25 metered markets. The regular ratings are all of the metered markets.
ReplyDeleteSomeone correct me if I'm wrong.
Thanks for the info :)
ReplyDeleteWow this is taking quite a long time
ReplyDeleteIts
ReplyDeleteTheir taking ridiculously long
ReplyDeleteI miss the days when revenges ratings were in the mid to high 2s
ReplyDeleteGolden Globes might of had something to do with it I imagine.
ReplyDeleteyou are correct. that's why "the top 25 ratings" are higher than the "normal" ratings.
ReplyDeleteI started in January, I got a bit teary
ReplyDeletebecause I goooooooot 2.0
But the next week, I fell of the peak
and they called me galataaaaaaaaaank
That's not true. Some some increase from their Top 25 whilst some decrease.
ReplyDeleteBob's Burgers with great retention from Family Guy.
ReplyDeleteAbout time! Ouch revenge but whatever :D
ReplyDeletePoor Revenge, even though it kind of doesn't deserve better numbers...
ReplyDeleteAt least it didn't fall much
ReplyDeleteYeah and next week it will rise anyway
ReplyDeleteYes it does IMO
ReplyDeleteIt was just like I predicted
ReplyDeleteDo we have half hours?
ReplyDeleteNope. Usual source Marc Berman hasn't posted them yet. He's probably busy with TCA duties.
ReplyDeleteYeah true, thx :)
ReplyDeleteI mean after last night's episode it deserves the same ratings as Scandal and Murder.
ReplyDeleteI apologize if I upset you because of my joke, seriously.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy it, I have nothing against Galavant.
Those numbers are just ugly, The Good Wife got CSI ratings at 10 PM, even viwership wise and CBS failed at giving exposure to their shows.
ReplyDeleteABC was just awful, Galavant has only two more weeks and they need OUAT badly and even more Secrets and Lies doing well.
Revenge: 0.8/0.8
ReplyDeleteThe Good Wife numbers look better with half-hours:
ReplyDeleteMS: 1.8-1.5
TGW: 1.4-1.2
Family Guy is a beast:
ReplyDelete2.0 in 18-49 and 2.2 in 18-34.
Revenge hasn't been consistently good since early S2.
ReplyDeleteWow, MS bled tons of viewers.
ReplyDeleteIt did. I don't think CBS was all that wrong in switching 60 Minutes at 8.
ReplyDeleteGalavant - 1.3/1.2
ReplyDeleteResurrection - 0.9/0.7
Revenge - 0.8/0.8
Thank you for even write back, it shows a lot from you. I just think people need to spread positive and not negative things. If people don't like and never watched something just go on ignore talking about it, just let it go and invest your time in something you like. Not everybody is looking for the same things on tv and people have different tastes that's a Universal rule. For all the crazy things going on in the world right now, I would invest my time a zillion times in the stupidity and mindless humor of Galavant rather than any other depressing show out there.....
ReplyDeleteI think ABC should maybe abandon Sunday nights as their "syndication farm" like CBS. It seems to be almost impossible for anything to work on ABC Sundays anymore, might as well have some low-rated bubble shows on it, shift OUAT to lead off Tuesdays.
ReplyDeleteI officially hate abc, for knowingly airing original programming against award shows.
ReplyDelete
