I think this is the first step to fixing the trainwreck that became this season. I'm glad they fixed Abbie and Ichabod and that Hawley's leaving. And yes to the "Proud Mary" duet! That was amazing.
This was a great episode love Abbie and Ichabod doing karaoke finally looks like it's going back to the basics with them fighting evil not focus on personal relationship I like Hawley's but to me he didn't fit with everyone omg is Irving a vampire now
I would like more karaoke moments with Crane and Abbie in the future, please and thank you, show. Awwwwwww. That ending duet. So awesome. I only wish they'd showed a little more of it-at the very least I would've liked to see them get through a verse and rocking out. But what we saw was cute. They've both got really nice voices. I liked Abbie's choice of song at the start of the episode, too, and I LMAO at Crane suggesting he should've sang "All About The Bass" instead. Hee! As for the main episode itself, I loved seeing Crane and Abbie talk out their issues of late a little. Really nice scene with them in that vault. I hope they are able to move past the stuff that's been dividing them lately-they're tough, strong people and clearly care about each other, though, so I think they'll be fine :). I'm also intrigued by that end scene with Katrina helping Irving. Hmmmm. There could be some very interesting places for the show to go with her helping to try and fix him after all Henry had done to him. I'm quite curious to see how that'll continue to play out. And finally...so is this it for Hawley, then? Or will he be back down the line?
That's what I'm talking about! That was awesome!! Ok Ichabod singing karaoke may be the cutest thing he's ever done since this series started. Lol...I wanna sing with Ichabod!!! And he actually has a nice voice too! And Abbie. I loved how he was trying to pick a song from the book and he read Britney Spears- Oops i did it again. Hahahahaha Personally I still think he should've sang Baby Got Back. LOL
Ok, I really enjoyed this episode. There was a lot of action, and Camille, well she really annoyed me. One thing I could never understand about evil female species...whyyyy do they always have to invade your personal space, talking to you, like they're gonna kiss you? Just kill them, don't try and seduce them. That's never made any sense to me, it bugs me. It's the same thing when someone is killing someone, and the victim is making noises (b/c duh he's dying) and the killer feels the need to say, "shush shush shush" or sometimes, "shushhh...it's almost over." UGH!!! That's annoys the shit outta me, it's such a pet peeve of mine. Yeah anyway, I enjoyed Hawley in this episode, and now he's gone. Guess it's not a bad way for him to go. Even though I don't support his and Jenny's relationship, I would've felt really bad for Jenny if Hawley was killed doing "one last job".
Seeing more Jenny is always a treat. I absolutely loved her tonight. I love how she man handled the guy for information, that was nice. And her having more scenes with her sister, I love that. The talk over drinks were nice. Next time I want to hear Jenny sing.
I enjoyed Irving's arc tonight, ESPECIALLY with Cynthia. I really like her, so to see her play a bigger part (have more screen time) in this episode was surprising, it's been a long while since she had some good screen time. And when her and Irving were in bed, I said, look woman, if you can't look into his eyes and tell that that's not your husband, then that is NOT your husband!! Get out of bed!! Lol I mean she was practically trembling in fear. And that ending!! Aww man, poor Irving!! I am sad for him.
Ichabod and Abbie- Kicking ass and taking names. That's what I like to see. And I liked seeing their struggle, individually (he questioning, her questioning) and together. They were definitely having problems and needed to talk about it. I could understand from both sides. And they've ALWAYS been honest with each other, I wouldn't want that to change. I'm glad they got their partner groove back.
Big wheel keep on turning, Proud Mary keep on burning, and we're rolling, (rolling,) rolling, (rolling), rolling on the riverrrr. = )
Your end line-soooo...was I alone in actually mouthing along with the words to "Proud Mary" at the end and clapping to the beat :D? Please someone tell me I'm not alone in my dorkiness :p?
Nice post. In complete agreement on everything. Yes to having Jenny join in on the singing if they do this again down the line, and agreed on Irving and Cynthia. I liked seeing her again, too, and I feel for both her and Irving with this mess they're in. I like Irving. I want him to be okay.
And when her and Irving were in bed, I said, look woman, if you can't look into his eyes and tell that that's not your husband, then that is NOT your husband!! Get out of bed!! Lol I mean she was practically trembling in fear. Mmhm.
Gurlllll, I was smiling like a fool! I started dancing, when Ichabod tried to find his groove and sang his first line then said "that makes no sense" Hahahaha I laughed Sooo hard! Then they kept singing and i was really into it singing along, bouncing up and down, then all of a sudden it went to Katrina and Irving, and I yelled, NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!! I totally forgot that she was supposed to cleanse him or w/e. That scene totally killed my vibe. LOL That was mean. But then I got right into the scene, b/c I wanted to see if she could help him. I love Irving, I want him to be okay and he's far from it right now. I didn't know what that whole non reflection thing was about but I didn't like it.
YAY! LOL. Glad I wasn't the only one :D. I loved him being confused by the lyrics, too. Oh, Ichabod... Yeah, as interesting as the end scene with Irving and whatnot was, it was a very abrupt transition-felt like Kuzco from 'Emperor's New Groove' in that moment, being all, "You threw off my groove!" But like you said, it was a good scene, even if it ended on a very unsettling note. Hopefully there'll be a deleted scene or outtake on the season 2 DVD showing more of the karaoke fun. I'd LOVE to see that, see what else the cast would sing. /music geek moment
Did anyone else get the sense that Katrina learned more from Irving than she was saying ? She looked rather mysterious afterwards. And I think we can all agree that we would have loved to have seen more of Ichabod and Abbie's duet of Proud Mary. Wonder if they will bring Hawley back .
Hahahahaha omg i loveeee that movie!!! And you're totally right! I thought you were going to say something else from that movie, but you didn't you said the "You threw off my groove" (which is so true) But the one i was thinking was...."Helloooo can we get back to me please??" Hahahaha! That's how i felt in that moment. Like um, can we get back to the duet please?? hahahaha shit.
I can't wait for the deleted and blooper scenes for the dvd. I hope they make the karaoke a tradition. I wouldn't even mind if Irving started singing with his family. LOL
I love it, too. It's been ages since I've seen it-I should watch it again sometime. I forgot about that line, LOL! That would be very appropriate, too, yes. I imagine they'll have some good stuff on there :D. I'd be all for this becoming a tradition. Yes.
The "best" Sleepy Hollow episode of this season IMO! Great story, acting, and Abbie and Ichabod (witnesses) together again just like it should be, Sleepy Heads! Add the great Jaime Murray as one bad - @$$ monster of the week with Abbie and Ichabod's karaoke duet of "Proud Mary and we got "must see TV" (No Spoilers............much)! Who else was feeling Ichabod "mashing" in that 2015 Mustang tonight? 4 SLEEPY HOLLOW SEASON 3, I am Nobody!!!
I didn't get that impression. (Frankly Cuz I was annoyed they cut the duet scene when I was really into it Lol) But A LOT of other fans did! And if it turns out that she was lying just to use Irving as some type of "compass" to point her in the direction of Henry. Then I'm....I'll be taking Tom's last interview to heart when he said him and Katrina are "doomed" (his words). B/c that would seriously be the last straw. I'd be very surprised if she made it through the season finale (or series depending how the rest of this season's ratings go) considering she just threw herself under the bus with her last tweet, by kinda throwing the writers under the bus as well.
i'm surprised she didn't collapse with what she may have seen, because let's be honest Irving wasn't brought back by benevolent forces, and aren't Irving and his wife divorced? they're talking as if they're still married so that confused me
I think the storyline is that Ichabod and Katrina are still trying to work things out though they are still estranged somewhat. They did attend the dinner together last week as a couple and seemed to grow a bit closer. Certainly not divorced.
ah, once again the writers are expressing their tourettes and inability to stick to a storyline. One minute they are building/leading to a something more between Hawley/Abbie then its a 180 back to Jenny and then out altogether. They sure do like that back peddle and defenestration. Its a shame he was a good an interesting character that I think fit in and made the show better/interesting. They need more allies not less.
But when then bulk of people watching spend their time wanking over some nonexistent but "please oh, please" romance and forced comradery with equally forced "touching moments" of talking it out, I guess the writers cannot help but bow to it.
So sorry, ivan, I misread and thought you were talking about Ichabod and Katrina. Right, I thought the Irving marriage was legally over and was surprised when they were together. Sorry about that - lapse of concentration on my part while speeding through. My apologies.
Thanks so much for the heads up, Jordana34, as I definitely had misread the comment. You are very correct and I just had a case of the absentminded sillies. Thanks for the alert.
I probably fall into the easily impressed category because I liked the episode. However, I do agree with your first paragraph about Hawley. I think they had a lot of potential when they introduced the characte. He fit perfectly with the group, his scenes were usually fun and he had great chemistry with both Ichabod and Abbie. I think he would also have made a good romantic interest for Abbie, if they had decided to pursue it, Things went sour when they hinted at a love triangle with Jenny, which was a terrible idea and then suddenly they backpedalled completely and made it seem like Jenny was his main interest all along and I don't understand why. Terrible writing. I wonder what convinced them to backpedal. Did people just not like the character? Did they think he interfered with Abbie/Ichabod screentime or did they get a new team of writers who didn't like his subplot?? I don't get it.
With Parrish and Hawley possibly gone and Irving not really being Irving, they really do need to work on incorporating new interesting regular characters like perhaps Orion (anything would be better than the headless horseman with a head),
You summed up all the great things about this episode very well. The singing was also a nice touch and more Jenny is always a good thing. I will miss Hawley if he's gone, though. I also liked the scene with Katrina helping Irving and I'm almost certain she saw something related to Henry and decided to keep it to herself. LOL at your comment about evil female villains.
Thank You. I felt this episode was an improvement, but they still have a lot to work on. I really appreciated the fact that Team Witness talked things out, yet I still feel, they have a lot more to cover, and they're not addressing the elephant in the room. I do hope its' addressed before the season is over. What I love about Hawley's departure, was that, it was Just THAT. Just a departure, which means, he has room to return. So no worries. Dry your eyes. = ) With Katrina, I hopeeeeee, that's not the case, and as I said above, if it is, that's the last straw, and I'll take Tom's words to heart, about their relationship. (In his last recent interview). I mean if they're going to make her evil, iI'm for it. Maybe that'll help, but not this way. I felt terribly sorry for Irving in that moment.
And it's true!!! Hahahaha, it's the same as, (a fan said this to me some time during the summer) when a character goes crazy, they end up growing a beard. Like wtf is that about? Like losing your mind is somehow related to a man losing his razor. LOL
completely agree, it seems rather odd and abrupt when it was clear, pre xmas break, that things were going well with that character.
The inconsistency is really terrible and does not allow for any enjoyment when one minute one thing is said and other its forgotten or backpedaled.
and honestly the show needs more then just Abbie/Ichabod "chemistry" for as of late not even they seems to be able to hold up the turd that is this season. especially with what feels like forced emotional exposition and teen drama wrapped in a "bonding moment" of stale and repetitive dialogue.
Agree with you - that whole business with Hawley suddenly switching from making eyes at Abbie ( even Ichabod noticed it) to being back to cosy with his former flame Jenny was inexplicably unplotted.
It was satisfying I think. A little stiff written at times (the dialog), though. A bit forced or odd at moments, sometimes their work at the cases is a little rushed (sometimes Ichabod knows a little too much, very conventient though ;) ) but I think I enjoyed this one more than most of Season 2, which is a step forward! The transition between the (very) bad first part of Season 2 (not because it was serialized but because it didn't go anywhere and nothing seemed to come together anymore, idk) and the last few episodes was a little rough but let's see if they get continuity in there now.
I think Hawley/Abbie was the original plan, and IMO, that pairing had far more chemistry, but the writers bowed to fan pressure and quickly rewrote Hawley/Jenny. I'm just happy that they didn't kill Hawley, but I will
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
I think this is the first step to fixing the trainwreck that became this season. I'm glad they fixed Abbie and Ichabod and that Hawley's leaving. And yes to the "Proud Mary" duet! That was amazing.
ReplyDeleteIs Irving a vampire now? What.
Jaime Murray !!!!

ReplyDeletewhat makes you think that? i was trying to figure out what that last scene was, what was it?
ReplyDeleteand a very not in your face product placement, i didn't even it WAS one until they talked about in the commercial
ReplyDeleteHa!

a super great episode for the easily impressed.
And wearing black instead of white . Always happy to see her.
ReplyDeleteWe could not see Irving's reflection (a traditional Vampire indication) , only his wife's.
ReplyDeleteohhh, then that's weird
ReplyDeleteI think they were asking about Irving and his wife, not Ichabod and Katrina

ReplyDeleteI agree with this 100%.
