  1. 2 Hours of Pure Awesomeness, a fitting piece in the MCU!!! Loved the dialogue, sets, score, costumes and lightning. I felt like I was transported back in time, awesome double episode! The 40's is really well transcribed on Agent Carter. Peggy is so smart and adaptable.

The Captain America: The First Avenger footage really got me sad, poor Peggy, he's ok, but it really fit well into the show.

The silohuette of the lightning and Peggy and her hat make really stylish shots. Loved seeing Lyndsy Fonseca, she was great. Seems it's confirmed she's guest starring only.

"During the war I had a sense of purpose", Peggy :(

Jarvis was awesome. I'm so happy the show was trending on Twitter. Peggy as a blonde was cool, the accent was so good! and the music were really well suited to the scene, the show is definitly transportative to another time.

Jarvis' dialgoue is awesome, wanting to bake his wife a souffle :) He's quickly becomes one of my favorite characters.

Peggy's roomate, damn. Evil typewriter and Leviathan! That explosion, wonderful special effects and direction. Peggy dressing up in all those costumes is cool, lol, a milk inspector, haven't seen that before.

Peggy is so stealthy. Forget guns, use a suitcase to get the badguy, awesome move Peggy! Her friendship with Jarvis is one of my favorites.

Aww, Jarvis saying that Peggy's "desire to help others is noble", lovely speech from him at the end. Lol, at Angie filling in Peggy on who everyone is, "that's Sarah, she's a slut".

The Ant-Man Trailer looked really good!!!

  2. It was really good. Definitely love Carter, and it was great to see Stark back. As for the trailer, I wanted more.

  3. I loved it. It was pure fun. Peggy Carter has jumped to the top of my female character list. Not to mention, characters who just kick ass.
I loved Jarvis so much. Can't wait for more.

  4. I am loving this show already and Peggy is awesome. Angie is also amazing. And hee at the radio version of Peggy and Steve's relationship, which begs the question - does a movie exist in the MCU that's about a fictionalized version of it?

  5. Peggy was so sassy! I loved her. I seriously hated most of the men in the double episodes. They treated Peggy like trash. This is a great filler for Agents of SHIELD. I hope a young Hank Pym shows up

  6. Everything about that premiere was all around epic! From the noir look to it, the music, even how everyone talked was just amazing to watch. It made you feel like you were in 1940's New York. Incredible! Not to mention how excellent everyone's performance was! :)

Let's start off with our leading lady, Ms. Hayley Atwell. That woman can do no wrong! Right off the bat just her posture and how she expresses herself made me smile so damn much. And I loved her style! She was looking badass in every single outfit. Also, all of her fight scenes were so awesome!! I read somewhere that she wanted to do her own stunts as much as possible which is so cool. You can tell they worked really hard on that truck fight scene with Peggy and the Leviathan agent.

The Jarvis/Peggy interaction is already my favorite part of the show! I love that he's helping her out on missions and hopefully we see a really nice friendship form between the two of them. I also love how cool, calm, and collected Jarvis is on missions and stuff haha. And he makes soufflé! That's always a plus.

The special effects were amazing! They definitely had that cinematic look to them. The explosions at the Roxxon Oil and in the ocean at the end were really well done.

I hope we see Enver's character Agent Sousa develop a little bit more so we can get to know him better. He seems like a really interesting character to get to know to. I would love to see him find out that Peggy is working to clear Howard's name and see him team up with her.

Looking forward to learning more about Leviathan! All I know is that in the comics, it was this big Russian organization that consisted of humanoid monsters and would occasionally clash with SHIELD, HYDRA, and the Hand. And I have no idea what that symbol that Brannis drew right before his death. That has to be connected somehow and I can't wait to see it develop in the future.

Overall, this show balanced the charm and violence so well! It really hit its stride right from the start! Can't wait to see more.

  15. AMAZING PREMIERE!!! this is my first period show that's not flashback and it was very interesting but cool, love Jarvis already he's hilarious and loves his wife can't hate that, FRINGE TYPEWRITER!!! and i don't know what's up with Stark but right now i don't trust him, i hope Sousa teams up with Carter, i hate that Carter lost her roommate that's so messed up, LYNDSY FONSECA YAY!!! i hate that she's just a guest star, Marvel confirmed she's a regular damn it, so the show has a Big Bad cool and i wonder what Leviathan wants from Stark and those agents were creepy

  17. They still released a promotional picture of her with the other cast , Haley and her were the only women in them.
Maybe she gets upgraded after they see if people love her .

  20. Loved it! Very stylish and awesome start to what looks to be a fun little season... The CA references were great and set the stage well. Really enjoyed the visuals and intros of the side characters of Lyndsy and Enver, but Hayley and Jarvis really carried the show well and did it well. The pacing felt rushed a bit in parts, but not enough to really complain about. The action as well as portraying the struggles of one capable agent who's sorely underused and unappreciated were well exectued as well as giving us some shades of grey - what's Stark really up to? (and he's soooo much like his son, or vice versa.. lol)... and Hayley looked awesome, and loved her American accent... (Dominic's (Stark) isn't too shabby either, lol) A nice breath of fresh Marvel-ized air for this new year

  21. Now this show nailed it for me. Loved every minute of it. Peggy kicks all kinds of ass (doesn't hurt that Hayley Atwell is ridiculously gorgeous ;-). Angie is a nice addition and Jarvis just nailed it. This show is everything I wished Agents would have been. Style, flair, just the total package. Can't wait for next week.

  22. Holy crap I loved it so so much. It exceeded my super high expectations even. It's like Alias and Fringe got together and had the hottest baby ever born.

    ReplyDelete
  23. I really liked it, but I feel like my expectations were a little higher than they should have been. I'll definitely be tuning in for the following weeks, but I can't quite put my finger on it, it just wasn't what I expected? I don't know. Still a great opener for the show.

  24. I love it, she's a kickass sharp dresser who gets the job done, Agent Carter is must see Tv, I'll be back for more!!!!

  25. I loved it. Much better than that other Marvel outing.

  26. Wonderful, I loved it from beginning to end and loved the cameo of Captain America. Peggy is a wonderful female lead it's nice to see another strong female character on TV.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Pure movie magic! This is such great quality!

    ReplyDelete
  28. The premiere was just stunning. She's a g8 extension to the other female badasses of the MCU such ass Black Widow, Melinda May, Maria Hill, Skye, Simmons, Scarlet Witch,Mockingbird etc.. Looking forward to see her kicking the asses of the male chauvinists in the office ;) I also like Agent Sousa and sassy Jarvis, who is very quotable. And Howard Stark has apparently the same preference for getting into trouble like his son. ;)

  29. Totally Awesome! I loved it. I'm glad, because I have a hard time getting into super hero stuff, but I knew because this was film nior, action adventure, and a bit of science fiction, that this would be a fun series --even just really cool to look at!!! It helps fill my missing of Alias and Fringe too!

  30. Great summery and thoughts! Jarvis is pretty awesome!

  31. I'm convinced that those who voted "Awful" did it to be contrary and I'm judging you. ;)

    ReplyDelete
  32. Alias and Fringe (and one episode of Felicity) totally spoofs/subtexts elements of film nior! This definitely had vibes of both of those awesome shows, which was exactly what I was hoping for!!! :)

  33. I love it. I already loved the kick-ass Peggy Carter from Captain America, I knew I'd love Agent Carter. Was not disappointed, as I only needed half an hour to fall in love with the show. It is just brilliant. Peggy Carter is amazing and I'm just delighted that the amazing Hayley Atwell said yes to reprise her role for a TV series. It was two hours of pure awesomeness and I can't wait for more.

  34. Liked the first hour slightly better than the second but enjoyed them both. Peggy was great. Loved the way she showed the guys up by her actions as well as her words. I really like Jarvis. Wonder about his wife? Was glad to see Howard again. I keep seeing Tony in him. The first time the did the radio thing it was good but I was finding it as irritating as Peggy by the end of the second episode. I hope they cut that or use it more sparingly. Haven't decide yet about Agent Sousa. I don't entirely trust him. Same with Angie. She was a little pushy. The thing with the vocal cords was weird. Bottom line it looks like it will be a fun & entertaining way to spend the time until AoS comes back and, so far, I can say I hope they consider continuing the series.

  35. Happy to see that I wasn't the only one thinking straight back to FRINGE during the typewriter scenes. lol

    ReplyDelete
  36. I absolutely loved it! Again it goes to prove (much more that SHIELD did) that you don’t need superhuman powers to be a hero & it’s so refreshing to see a lady dishing out the righteous punches & wit. Plus the chemistry between the cast is mostly spot on from the first scene itself, especially between Peggy, Howard & Jarvis, but I don’t see Peggy and Jarvis as a couple as some others did.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Same it started and I thought.."Is that thing typing on its own like in FRINGE?

    ReplyDelete
  38. Admittedly I am biased because my love for the MCU is huge but that really was terrific. Hayley is amazing in the role of Peggy, I mean its her commitment to the character that has helped make Peggy more than just a one off Marvel character but a truly important part of the MCU history.

James D'arcy as Jarvis is simply delightful, I always hoped we would see him on screen one day but I love how he is playing the Pepper Potts type role to Peggy's Tony in many ways. Also the man can sew.

The rest of SSR is a little flat, I really only care for Sousa because he is less of a dick than the others and more tragic with his poor legs and also Enver always brings it.

Angie seems like a lot of fun as well.

Loved all the retro gadgets, love Peggy going undercover (especially as a Health inspector) and the Captain America radio stuff was spot on, cheesy but so appropriate for the era.

    Excellent stuff, more please.

  39. Thank you, I enjoyed reading your thoughts too :)

  40. As I continued thinking about the trailer, I got disappointed. Sad to say. But I like Paul a lot, I think he'll do this role okay. I'm still willing to see it.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Exactly, just because the teaser trailer didn't catch me I still have much faith in the movie

    ReplyDelete
  42. Excellent start!

Looking forward to the rest of it :)

  43. I
enjoyed her in the flashbacks on Agents of SHIELD as well as her role
in Captain America, but neither prepared me for how much I would love
her as a lead. What I loved most about Agent Carter is that she's this
bad ass woman during the 40's when women weren't allowed to be assertive
and/or ass kicking field agents. She rocks that role and she certainly
does it with style. Awesome start to the series.

  44. It was about what I expected I guess...

I enjoyed a good deal, but a lot left me wanting. So many of the sets feel over stylized to me..almost unnatural.... at times it seemed like style over substance. Some of the writing was just silly as well. and made me role my eyes.

A few other things made me roll my eyes to the extreme...
    - If the lipstick Knocks out Bubbles, why doesn't it affect Agent Carter herself?
    - How did she let herself into Stark's car as Jarvis was driving with both hands. Her arms are too short to reach the latch from the car's roof.
Both silly and small details that are not much by themselves, but they are a start of a pattern I don't like.

I did like most of the banter between Carter and her co-workers. It may get old, but for an episode it was fun. I love all the gadgetry compared to superpowers and the action was quite fun as well.

Overall I just rated the pilot "Good" and have not watched Episode 2 yet. I didn't have enough interest to watch the second hour after the pilot.. Unless episodes 2 and 3 impress me more I will not continue watching.
