Funny and intelligent show. I liked it. Will continue watching.
The literal visual depictions of what Jay Baruchel's character thought about the girl his sister set him up with (depicted as a troll), his ex girlfriend's new boyfriend (depicted as Adolf Hitler) and finally the over the top reaction of others (including a call from POTUS himself) when Jay's character gets a girl's number - all these were hilarious and very clever.
This is the weirdest show I've watched in a while. Trolls and Hitler? Is this all a fantasy? is jay Baruchel's character stoned through out the show, lol?
Maybe I am wrong but I thought it was very clever.
Jay Baruchel goes through bad break up. Head not in a good place. ( In his mind) First girl his sister sets him up is like a troll - so the show actually depicted a troll.
Next - his ex got a new BF. In his mind, this new BF is literally Hitler hence the visual depiction.
Final scenes - he is an insecure fellow. He somehow manages to get a girl's number and feels as if he is at the top of the world and has accomplished something monumental - ergo the call from the President himself congratulating him, media outside his house etc.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.

Looks like people Loved it or Hated it.
ReplyDeleteI found it ok and as a premise and loved the symbolism, but I didn't laugh for a second.
