I thought it was going to be on at 10?!

  2. The storyline involving the tension around the police-related death of a black man provided great drama for this episode, especially in the background of the debate between Alicia and Prady. David Lee's return gives me mixed feelings. I like that the kiss was addressed but I'm concerned that while it is clear Alicia doesn't have any feelings for his campaign manager, his campaign manager may be a bit hurt by her rejection. The possibility of a follow-up to this worries me.

  3. Wow, if the disclaimers for this episode are true, the story is clearly emulating reality, and they went straight for the throat on this one regarding race relations. Also, it was fantastic to finally have Diane bring up the fact that Alicia is hardly acting as a lead partner around F/A/L, and it was great that Alicia finally came up with a response to everyone's question (including characters in the show as well as us, viewers in real life) as to why she continues to run for S.A....

Given race is such a hot topic on this season, it's weird that Taye Diggs' character has seemingly just evaporated? And on a related note, haven't seen much of Robyn lately and I feel like she could have been very useful on Cary's case... I wonder if she'll pop back up soon?

Going to need another rewatch and will gladly review this late tomorrow after work. This is probably the episode I've felt like I've been waiting for since 6.01 (everything's crazy, but it feels like the good wife, what with a case of the week, a bunch of things happening in personal aspects of life, and a huge ripped-from-the-headlines story to add a layer of depth here...)

  4. Yeah the campaign manager definitely seemed to have feelings.

  5. I agree completely. This was such a good episode, and I loved how they dealt with the race issue from so many different perspectives. We had Alicia's practical realistic approach to improving the situation, her opponents more idealistic approach, Eli's typical callous opportunism, his assistant's disgust over his bigotry and the conflicting opinions of the father/son ministers.Peter's hard to read, but I'm not convinced that he really cares about anyone and is just happy to let Eli do his dirty work. There were also some great lines like when Eli's assistant drily asked Eli he was worried she would riot when he told her to not get upset orther guy in the kitchen who pointed out the irony of Alicia and or opponent arguing for more blacks in government positions.

The sudden disappearance of Taye Diggs (after advertising that he would join the cast) is kind fo bizarre, as is the disappearance of Robyn. I remember that having Kalinda was a stipulation of Dianne joining the firm and Alicia said that they could only afford one investigator and Cary would not want to get rid of Robyn, but they never followed up on that issue on screen. I hope she comes back, though....I liked her. Also, if David Lee weren't such an entertaining character, I'd be more annoyed about them inviting him back into the firm. They really need some more wealthy characters so that they don't have to keep going to ridiculous extents to keep Chumhum (sp?) as a client!. Also, Alicia finally admitting that she wanted to run and win was great.

  7. This is very likely the best hour of TV from the entire 2014/2015 batch. It is not just about the performances, or the story, or the context. Every single thing in this episode worked to perfection level. They addressed the long overdue issue regarding Alicia's campaign, which is why on Earth is she running. And as the show very clearly pointed out, it was just now that she truly discovered the answer herself. The Ferguson approach was awesome (btw, really proud of the Kings for going straight to the point there), the debate in the kitchen was great, all in all, it was amazing.

  8. The Good Wife confuses me so much and the best possible way, I always think that I want something, then they give me something completely different and I end up loving! Such a great show!
