  1. "Checkmate" another awesome episode!

Dr. Wells' house is so awesome, that architecture is flash.
Cisco and Hartley, he's meet his match :) Lol at Hartley thinking Cisco is Caitlin's boyfriend.

Hartley using his sonic wave gloves to throw Barry against that glass sign was cool, it looked really painful though. He knows Harrison's secret (and it's about the excelator). Little does Team Flash know that "their broken trust" will most likely be broken again, he's got way more than just one secret.

LOL at Hartley's words about having fantasies of a guy in leather. He and Cisco really aren't friends.

Wow at Harrison's language skills. Crap, that S.T.A.R. Labs Prison blew up, poor Cisco caught in the explosion. That explosion looked great though!

Andy Mientus is such a great villian. Damn, Harrison threatening Hartley and then coming forward to "regain everyones trust".

Haha, Harrison "failing this city" he took a page out of the Arrow's handbook ;)
"Theres no chosen one, no second or third, just us" - Harrison Wells.

Hartley wanting to play "one last game of chess" with The Flash, Harrison and himself, that's going to be interesting. I really liked the way Hartley moved that car, so effortlessy. But poor Barry, "that feeling? That's your organs shearing apart".

"Nobody could ever replace you" :)

  2. Great episode. Loved the beginning. Barry: "GOT THE KEYS!" Hahaha that was awesome! It kinda made me think of Pac-Man. Lol I really liked everyone in the beginning, smiling and taking a picture. So cute!

Cisco was amazing tonight. I loved the flashbacks with him, and Wells, and him meeting Caitlin. And Kudos! To the writers finally writing a script with another language other than English! I noticed that right away. I love how Barry said, "I really wish i took a language in school." That's okay Barry, you have speed talking! That's a whole language on its' own. No but seriously, Cisco rocks!

I enjoyed Iris immensely!! I am so proud of her, and her "Baby sitter" As soon as I saw him I cracked up, b/c that guy, ALWAYS ALWAYS plays a dick! I never remember the actor's name, but I like him, b/c he plays a dick really well. So I'm glad Iris got back at him at the press conference. I also love the fact that her and Barry are getting back on good terms. Biris FTW!

Pied Piper- No complaints, enjoyed him very much. That little POS. Lol

Barry/Joe- Always a treat. I'm soooo glad Joe is staying on Wells, I hope he doesn't get hurt in the process.

Wells - I am so done losing sleep over this guy. Lol Idc anymore. F**K him! I can't theorize over him anymore, he's giving me a headache. (I'm just kiddi I'm totally obsessed with him right now, it's killing me)

Some great lines tonight. There were my fav- Caitlin: "Well Hartley has a challenging personality." Cisco: "What she means is he was mostly a jerk, but every once in a while....he could be a dick." LOL (Loved his Keep Calm and Han shot first T-shirt. Caitlin: " First, let me put on some makeup. Cisco: "The future does not care about your makeup." Caitlin: "Does that count as a selfie?" Barry: "Absolutely."

Can't wait for next week, promo was hilarious! Oh and Wells at the press conference: "I have failed this city." Ha! Did they do that on purpose??? Lol I think they did.

  3. Judging by the way Barry and the team still gathered behind Dr Wells even after hearing the allegations against him by Pied Piper and hearing Wells own admissions I just know it's going to hurt Barry a lot later on when Wells really does betray the team worse. I mean we the viewer see he is up to something clearly but oh Barry, poor cute Barry who wants to believe his mentor is a decent guy. It's going to be both intense and sad to see the breaking of the team if or when we get the whole reveal of what is going on. Poor team :(

Glad Joe has not given up on investigating Dr Wells. I like Joe's intuition. But please don't let it be the death of him I am worried about him getting killed. He is so important to Barry and Iris.

Pied Piper wasn't bad at all a little obnoxious and cocky but a not bad villain. My only issue I will say with this show is the episode sometimes are dare I say to formulaic to the point that I know by the end of the episode Barry defeats the bad guy, bad guy gets locked up and gang has a laugh at the end while ignoring Dr Wells creepy vibes. I know it's a light hearted super hero show but sometimes I like to see the episodes here and there when Barry just loses and the team just doesn't win it all.

  4. Loved this episode!

The episode opening up with Barry trying to catch those motorcyclist guys with the King of Clubs, the Queen of Clubs, and the Ace of Clubs painted over their helmets, I knew that it was the Royal Flush Gang from the comics! Another great easter egg. Haha so cool :D And that selfie with Barry and the team had to have been the coolest selfie in existence. I wish I was in that selfie with them!

Damn, Iris' coworker was really rude to her. She has the potential to be a great writer and I believe she'll prove everyone wrong at her job. "The people we admire aren't always what we want them to be" Well said, Barry. And I loved that Wells specifically asked Iris if she had any questions for him at the press conference :)

Andy Mientus was so damn fun as the Pied Piper! You can really tell he had a blast portraying him. Those sonic gloves were so cool. And it looks like he's returning to tell them exactly where Ronnie is and how he can be saved! Yay. And my heart stopped for a second when Hartley told everyone that he knew Wells secret because I thought that he was going to tell them that Wells is the Reverse Flash but it was just that Hartley knew that the particle accelerator would explode and Wells didn't do anything about it. Whew, that was a close one but I have a feeling the big reveal is just around the corner.

Another heartfelt conversation between Barry and Joe! Keep em coming, show. Awww at Barry telling Joe that he could never be replaced, not even Wells. That made me all happy inside. And it looks like Joe is still investigating Wells! I don't blame him because Wells is acting shady as hell but be careful, Joe!

"The real endgame is almost here" Yes it is, Wells. And it's going to shake up everyone.

Can't wait for Linda Park next week!

  5. Nice twist with Harrison using the tachyon generator to control his power, instead of giving it to him like originally. So I presume the investigation will lead to Eddie either gaining the Negative Speedforce, or go all Hunter Zoom?

    ReplyDelete
  6. Yeah I'm worried about Joe's death. Particularly given Zoom's hatred of Barry.

    ReplyDelete
  7. This was a very good episode to me... Not great though.

It had some fun moments, but some felt a bit forced with all the chess moves/ dialog and Iris saying she had gumption. Who did not think it would end with Wells saying Checkmate? When someone who knows Iris called on her in a press junket it is more nepotism than gumption. Exactly what resourcefulness did she show to get called on? None. She stood there! XD

The Pied Piper was much more fun than I expected though!
The gloves were fun... and scary! Knowing about FIRESTORM just adds to the fun...

Two thoughts on things Barry said this episode...
    - Barry saying to Iris, "The people we admire aren't always what we want them to be" could be more than just Barry reacting to the news Wells knew about the Particle Accelerator issues. It could also be foreshadowing at Wells going dark (or "Yellow") as some expect.
    - Barry saying no one can replace Joe combined with Joe's investigation of Wells makes me think we will have one of those sacrifices CW loves... Usually a parent or friend dies in or near a finale - EEEK!

    ReplyDelete
  8. Haha Hahahaha, I have a question, (and it's a serious question)...Have you seen Lego Movie?

    ReplyDelete
  9. Pied Piper was quite interesting, and seemed as creepy as he appeared when I saw scenes shot. Overall, good work by Andy Mientus. Hope for more from him, hopefully with a more interesting overall story.
Joe & Eddie "investigating" Harrison Wells seemed thin to me. I feel they needed more than what they had to suddenly go down that road. I mean Joe has his feelings, but it really seems Eddie is just a puppet to whoever is around now.
Iris getting a job at the paper seemed ok, but her being at the press conference & Harrison choosing to answer her & her only wreaked of cheesy and certainly didn't come across as "gumption" to me as much as "being favorite". I feel the writers did a poor job at delivering any valuable character building to that scene.
I gave the episode a "good" rating, which is certainly lower than most eps this show has had.

    ReplyDelete
  10. foreshadowing of Checkmate coming to the universe?

    ReplyDelete
  11. i hope so LOL, i'm stayig on trusting Wells, i know, crazy but come on some scenes with him i just do

    ReplyDelete
  12. that much hatred? enough to do that

    ReplyDelete
  13. maybe he won't betray them

    ReplyDelete
  14. Smh, you do that. Lol

    ReplyDelete
  15. The Royal Flush Gang confused me though, Oliver took them down so how are they back? and it's just an Easter Egg? too big a thing to just be that, or mistake on their part

    ReplyDelete
  16. As in "stay on trusting him" like you do.

    ReplyDelete
  17. yeah i figured comic fans screamed their heads off when they heard that LOL, i'm not that familiar but i got ecstatic when i heard it, what surprised me is that he DOES need a wheelchair, at least most of the time

    ReplyDelete
  18. Moira, Jenna, and probably Liz, crap you're right

    ReplyDelete
  19. no yeah i know, i laughed not questioned LOL, but don't YOU see moments when you CAN trust him, with the "rush" of being a hero and the picture at the end?

    ReplyDelete
  20. Agreed on all counts.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Ohhhh, that's was a "Hehe"? Lol, I thought u were saying "huh" Hahahaha my bad. And NOPE! Not at all.

    ReplyDelete
  22. haha u read my mind.
unless those guys too escaped from the prison after the earthquake

    ReplyDelete
  23. That surprised me too, but I like the fact he still needs it and why he needs it.

I keep hoping that Wells is more than just a future villain/ villain from the future, but I have suspected him as such from the pilot honestly.

He has moments, but are they moments of legitimate compassion or are they moments of concern for his plans to come to fruition? Are the those two points mutually exclusive? Can it be both?

    ReplyDelete
  24. i m starting to think its joe

    ReplyDelete
  25. awesome ep ,but it kinda hit me after 11 ep in i think they dont need that "i m the fastest man alive" self intro. i m waiting to see dr.wells endgame ;-)

    ReplyDelete
  26. i can see eddie char more involved in season 2

    ReplyDelete
  27. He seems like the most likely, but I hope not!

Jesse L. Martin is the best actor on the show and Joe's dynamic with Barry is one of the best elements of the series!!

If the show follows DCU it lacks many expendable characters though...
Iris has a future as the mother/ aunt of some future speedtsers...
Caitlin has a future as Killer Frost...
    Cisco as Vibe...
Eddie as possibly related to Zoom or Reverse Flash...

    ReplyDelete
  28. duck this site, I don't even feel like commenting with these bs videos that auto start.
    But wth nice ep.
    Good for Iris.
So Hartley from last episode was this guy. Guy likes his hoods, kinda of reminded me of the Main dude from Sanctuary tv show, and also Kabuto from Naruto.
Worried about the picture a little. But hey that could also be a good coming out proof to someone.

fix site- u know whats wrong with it.

    ReplyDelete
  29. yeah i get it LOL i should've put hehe or ha instead right? and yeah i guess i'm being just naive because of Tom Cavanagh and not wanting him to be evil

    ReplyDelete
  30. LOL and yeah i guess they could've escaped but they're too big to be just some random cameos

    ReplyDelete
  31. it could be both, maybe he's rethinking what he's doing because of the friendships he's creating here in the present

    ReplyDelete
  32. Yeah you should've. Haha next time. I wouldn't say "naive." More like..wishful thinking. Lol

    ReplyDelete
  33. Is any one else here got more confused about Harrison Wells after this episode like me. My mind is scrambled. Now I have no theories about this dude. He looks like a good guy one moment the bad the very next. HIs talk to Cisco telling there is no no.1 guy was so heartfelt. Too bad he might betray them all. Pick a lane dude.. You are giving me head aches speculating. Good head ache though so keep up. But I want his end game resolved this season and not to be dragged to season 2.

Barry/Joe. I feel like a broken record singing their praises every week. I am so glad Joe and Eddie are going to look into Wells. Will give Eddie something more to do. Loved Iris's story line. Go baby girl. You show the dbag never to underestimate you.

Hartley was a great villain with so much personality. His personal relationships with Wells, Cisco and Caitlin was done really well. Him using the frequency of Scarlet Speedster against himself was really clever. He will be a huge threat once he joins the Rogues Gallery. Also the twist at the end about Ronnie. Awesome. I am surprised Cisco only got a concussion after that blast.

Once again a great episode which concentrated on Cisco, Wells and Iris. Yet every cast member had significant screen time.

    ReplyDelete
  34. I thought the point of the press conference was Wells put Iris on the spot thinking she will choose a harmless question as a newbie reporter and as someone who is familiar with him. He clearly did not want to answer that and tried to use Iris to get around that. But Iris decided to ask the provocative question her collegue asked and put Wells on the spot even though he was Barry's mentor.

Don't even think of killing Joe. Just say to yourself "I did not think that" few times. #ProtectJoeWestAtAllCosts

  35. Another awesome Flash episode! Memorable moments:
    1. Showdown between Hartley and Barry on the bridge, and Wells figuring out how to use Hartley's plan against him. Well played Wells, you evil genius!
    2. Cisco always with the best lines. I loved his description of Hartley

    3. Iris showing "gumption" at the press conference. I think that Iris and her "babysitter" should make an entertaining investigative pair.
    4. Dr. Wells' house: Very futuristic. Very Impressive. Very sparse. Looks uncomfortable to live in.
    5. The "Aw" moment between Barry and Joe. I'm glad that Joe is pressing on with the investigation, but if he gets killed in the process, then, I'm done with the Flash! OK I won't be done, but I'll be very sad, because I love his relationship with Barry. it's a dangerous thing to be a parent or guardian on any CW show.

  36. Awesome episode.
But this time we had a lot of interesting stuff going on.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Maybe with Iris?
It just felt so cheap to me. Maybe Wells expected a softball from Iris, but she still did not show gumption in getting Wells to ask her.Had her "nanny" not already asked the very same question and then Iris would have been tough I would see it that way more so...

It still would have felt more like nepotism than gumption to me though. To me she just parroted the same question asks seconds before Wells noticed her and ignored the rest of the reporters..

    Agreed on Joe!
    #ProtectJoeWestAtAllCosts

    ReplyDelete
  38. Mmm. I went for good, I would have gone for Great but they cheapened Iris' moment.

1 - Loved Hartley. Fun yet intimidating. Would have liked a flashback showing him before coming out to his parents though. He was a jerk but it wasn't established if he was always a jerk or if he changed because of what he'd been through.

2 - Oh Harrison, the plot thickens. I feel like the episodes goal was to shed some light on the guy and it did that and so much more.

3 - I liked Iris' storyline, especially when she asserted herself during that first meeting. Now that was gumption. However I felt they ruined it during the press conference. Iris got lucky that Harrison deflected to her. She didn't assert herself or show initiative (or gumption) there. All she did was stand still. I felt like that could have been an important character defining moment for her and should have been handled better.

4 - The climatic battle was unimpressive compared to last week. I don't think it really detracted from the episode though since this was more a character development episode then a big splashy fight sequence episode.

5 - Grant and Jesse still play off each other so well :)

    ReplyDelete
  39. The main plot of the episode apart, I made a startling discovery: Iris is now officially more annoying than Laurel of Arrow. She hardly gels with the rest of the cast and is as pretentious & cliched as you get. She is in desperate need of some well-written arcs. 2 guys pining for 1 girl or desperate girl working hard to prove herself in workplace are such lame arc for a show as excellent as Flash.

    ReplyDelete
  40. What was cool about Iris' moment was that she didn't take the bait when Dr Wells did her a favor, which was what everyone expected. She basically threw his attempt at favoritism back in his face and told him to answer the question he was already asked. To me it said that she wouldn't be easily bought, and also showed that she would make a good teamplayer. I'm surprised people didn't see it that way.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Not to mention practically every other parent on The Vampire Diaries!

    ReplyDelete
  42. Great moments & character growth for Harrison & Cisco!Fantastic episode,loved it!

    ReplyDelete
  43. BARRY AND CAITLIN GO ON A DATE!!!!!!!!! WHOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  44. That's exactly what we were supposed to take from it.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Some people will never like Iris and criticize everything she does. The point of the scene with Wells was that she wasn't going to let him use her to escape that question.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Odd.

I never thought she would toss some easy question at him. I thought she would ask a tough question, but not the exact same one just asked.

    *Shrug*

    ReplyDelete
  47. True but not relevant..

Iris was asked what that [Wells ignoring the throng of reporters and calling on her by name] was... It was nepotism. That was the correct answer to her co-worker's question - not gumption.

I also saw Wells calling her out by name differently. I thought he was giving her an open door to get her foot inside. I never took it as him ignoring the hard Q's and looking to her for an easy one. Had she not asked a decent question I would have been shocked.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Jo/Barry/Cisco remain cute. They always put a smile on my face.

Dr. Wells is doing something to my lady parts whenever he's out of the wheelchair. xD

Hartley was interesting. Hope to see him more in future. I did wanted to punch him when Cisco got hurt because of him. That scene was insane.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Well, it depends on whether she thought he was referring to Well's questioning or whether he was referring to her answer. The answer to the former would have been nepotism, and the answer to the latter, would have been gumption! But I feel like we're starting to split hairs. Regardless of why he called on her (I still think he was being manipulative), I give her points for her answer.

    ReplyDelete
  50. You are on my team. Maybe Harrison Wells will surprise us by not being evil at all. Now that would be a twist.

    ReplyDelete
  51. LOL, so you don't watch Continuum or 12 Monkeys?

    ReplyDelete
  52. Have to give props to my wife for guessing Wells is older version of Barry...looking more likely each episode...

    ReplyDelete
  53. LOL, but you DO realize that Continuum is a time travel show, if anything the previous seasons didn't have ENOUGH time travel

    ReplyDelete
  54. I watch Continuum, but the last season was sub-par to me.
Mostly due to the increased time travel elements I think...

I was not going to watch 12 Monkeys since I thought the film was barely mediocre and expected a lot of stuff I dislike to be in the series, but.... I decided to try it and it is better than I expected. So far....

I can already feel the paradoxes and headaches coming though! XD

    ReplyDelete
  55. It feels to me like Wells is Zoom from the future come back because in the future he or someone else defeated The Flash and all Hell broke loose! XD

So he could be both a malevolent villain and a benevolent hero trying o right his own wrong.... Maybe. I could be way off since I have no idea what Flash/ Zoom do in the DC-U....

He has made it clear he needs Barry to live until that specific date (I forget when)... Maybe because he is trying to change the future by altering something in the past before the future crisis takes place.

I so hate time travel in SciFi!
    Paradoxes and headaches... Just saying.

    ReplyDelete
  56. little creepy LOL, i love West's laugh, yeah Rathaway comes back it's confirmed

    ReplyDelete
  57. What's creepy? Wells being hot? xD Tom is really attractive as Harrison, even if he is 26 years older than me.

I wonder if Hartley's going to help them out against Wells since he's this season's 'big bad'.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Time travel is cool as well as annoying with all the cause and effect thing. I do agree with you good or bad Wells badly want to change some outcome in the future. Since the 2024 news paper said Flash disappears and Central City is having red skies it has something to do with Flash and his disappearance.

But do you remember the episode where Gideon was first introduced one in which Barry lost his speed. In that episode there was a different paper in the future where there was no reference to The Flash and red sky vanished. Wells became upset reading that. So does he want to kill Flash in the future? Is that why he is training Barry like a cow being readied for slaughter?

I hope they reveal his intentions at least a major part of it by this season's end. I will be pissed if we go on to season 2 and we have no answers. I quit Blacklist because of all the questions and no answers.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Mason asked "What was that?" before her reply of "Gumption" so unless he is clairvoyant he was referring to Wells calling on Iris by name... I guess he could possibly have been wondering why she asked the exact same fricking question he did? XD

Personally, I would wonder why Wells called on her by name too.
Considering almost every veteran newspaper reporter looks at inexperienced bloggers with some level of disrespect or skepticism I think she overreacted to his comments in the first place! Plus, she was hired because of her connection to The Flash and not for her talent necessarily.... She could be talented in the end, but that was certainly not why she was hired.

Iris said "gumption" to throw the word back at Mason who used in his 'Is this a chick flick" diatribe... It was a petty passive-aggressive jab.

We will have to agree to disagree on this one....

I am not an Iris hater either.
I have liked her in a number of episodes, but this episode and that scene were just petty and bad for her character. Not empowering in the least.

    ReplyDelete
  60. I think you're nitpicking and grasping at straws.

    ReplyDelete
  61. I wondered about that the first few episodes, but I think a few weeks/ months ago someone commented that at the TCA's Tom Cavanagh said he was Reverse Flash. I could be wrong though. I don't recall the comment exactly and did not read the TCA's article. Plus he could be playing people with misdirection as well!

    ReplyDelete
  62. Well to be fair the initial premise was a character sent back in time trying to adjust and get back to her family - NOT about going back and forth in various parallel timelines. That came later.

I don't mind a jump or two but the multiverse theory and multiple timelines tend to annoy me once the story gets convoluted.

It did with FRINGE as well.

    ReplyDelete
  63. How did I miss this article. Thank you for that. I am happy with this. We will get to see his end game this season. Awesome. There is hope for Harley/Singh relationship in the future. That is cool. They are slowly building a good amount of characters who can recur through out seasons.

    ReplyDelete
  64. I loved the Blacklist in season 1. But season even with Berlin's introduction the secrets went on piling up with no resolution in the future. So I stopped it for now. I will binge watch season 2 during summer break. If I find interest again I will resume with season 3.

    ReplyDelete
  65. I am always surprised at how differently we fans interpret some scenes. Last episode I thought Iris running into the crime scene calling Eddie's name did not belong in the episode. I was vehemently opposed by Iris fans who thought that scene made perfect sense. In Arrow last season every one was angry when Laurel threw the exploding glass at Sara when she came back. I kind of understood her point then and was surprised at myself lol.

    ReplyDelete
  66. If this article is accurate you may not need to worry! :)

    http://insidetv.ew.com/2015/01/27/the-flash-spoilers-reverse-flash-firestorm/

    ETA:
Oh I agree with you on Well's motives!
It is confusing and seemingly contradictory at times as well!

I'm just enjoying the ride honestly.
I have not put too much thought into his motivations I guess. I like teases and slow building story more than straight to the answer stories. Why I LOVE The Blacklist I guess. Mostly though I look at The Flash as light entertainment and action and not worth puzzling over like other shows. I like it for what it is!

    ReplyDelete
  67. That damn accuracy straw! XD

    ReplyDelete
  68. Good plan!
Sometimes shows like that are easier to deal with if you are getting small details and answers every 42 minutes and not every week or two or more....

So far this season I think they answered a lot of the big Q's from Season 1, but they have not answered the Red/ Liz relationship with any details just yet. That would annoy you if they don;t get into it by season's end I bet!

  70. yeah he's a good looking man isn't he LOL, and no i refuse to say that Wells is the Big Bad, i'm treating Captain Cold as the Big Bad because he's rounding up The Rogues

    ReplyDelete
  71. i still hope he's Barry

    ReplyDelete
  72. LOLZ.....not quite what I meant......

    ReplyDelete
  73. You're right about that. But Captain Cold is like an annoying mosquito! xD He refuses to leave and his performance is too dramatic( for my taste).

    ReplyDelete
  74. I thought this episode was a huge improvement in terms of character development for Iris (which for most of the season has been somewhat lacking). She finally showed viewers that she wasn't a pushover and that she had the potential to be a formidable journalist, Yet surprisingly, her actions generated more criticism (and hate) of her character than anything she'd ever done (or not done) in prior episodes. I just hope this isn't a new trend.

    ReplyDelete
  75. He killed Barry's mom and Iris (in the comics) and basically solely exists to fuck with Barry. Kinda like the joker. Even taking the comics bit out, I could see it (even to preserve his secret).

    ReplyDelete
  76. Does Batman sing songs about having no parents?

    ReplyDelete
  77. I don't think people are really hating on her character from this episode. It's more the writing related to that scene that was the problem. It was open to interpretation.

They should have been more concise with getting their specific point across. Instead its been interpreted by people in so many different ways that its lost much of the impact and development that it was probably intended to have.

Her other scenes weren't open to interpretation and gave her character the development she so deserved. But that one scene should have been tightened up slightly.

    ReplyDelete
  78. I think your mixing up The Lego Movie with Justice League Unlimited ;)
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ncj-wpBhr5E

    ReplyDelete
  79. That's his rock song. LOL That's actually my favorite song in the movie. (You would think it's everything Is Awesome, but nope).

But that's not where I was going with this. You sounded like the Spaceship guy. LOL

    ReplyDelete
  80. I love that episode. Conroy can sing. If only Arkham Knight had him sing.

    ReplyDelete
  81. I think that all scenes are subject to interpretation. But I'm curious: Which are all of these other scenes that awarded her with unequivocal well deserved character development? I guess people forgot to comment on them when they occurred.

    ReplyDelete
  82. Spaceship! Spaceship! Spaceship! Lol I did.

    ReplyDelete
  83. No he isn't. Batman sings a rock song in Lego movie and it's about him having no parents. (Idr the name of the song). The song is hilarious.

Edit: And i remember this episode. LOL

  84. I actually thought this episode was the first attempt to make her part of the main storyline. Prior to that I was sort of neutral about her character portrayal. She was likable enough but nothing really stood out about her.

  85. I can easily see why some people hate it, but I really love that Red actually knows more than the viewers. Like you said, usually the viewers know everything and the characters are in the dark. I enjoy the role reversal!

  86. I like Eddie and Iris together too.
A break up may do them good for character development, but I don't mind them together...

  87. I liked her pitch too...

Also Iris knew enough to keep her mouth shut when she was shut down at the meeting or. or lectured by her co-worker on her first day. Both were steps backward from what she wanted (or maybe deserved), but making it into an issue on day one would have showed how immature she is.

Earning their respect over time was the better option.
That's part of why I was very annoyed when she ended up lashing out at her co-worker when given a gift from Wells. It was immature and petty to make some celebratory snarky remark to a multiple award winning veteran co-worker who asked the very same question you did, but was ignored.

  88. Nice quote, although I think that the accuracy of such a statement is best assessed by reflecting on oneself, rather than on others.

  89. I think you're way off now. It's one thing to complain about the nepotism. It's another thing to say that she was lashing out at her colleague and being petty and immature. If she had wanted to do that, she would have asked her own question instead of backing him up. The fact that she backed him up after he was incredibly rude to her was classy, more than anything. And I suspect that she did earn his respect by that action. But I guess we'll see in the next episode.

  90. I meant on other episodes. Positive comments generally don't count if they are used as an immediate seque to a more negative comment, especially when the take-home message is meant to be a negative one. If you've ever watched American Idol or The voice, you'd know exactly what I mean, LOL. Nothing wrong with what she did in the newsroom meeting, but I was far more impressed by her actions at the press conference than anything she did at the meeting. Everything is open to interpretation.

  91. Like I said before...
We will not agree and I accept that... I get your point. I'm wrong.
    Next topic. XD

I was responding to someone else, not you, but since you replied...
Iris used her co-worker's word gumption as a jab. She used his own words against him. That is passive-aggressive lashing out almost by definition!

I can see how you would think repeating his question was backing him... I see it differently. It was out of spite not camaraderie. If she wanted to back him she would have asked his question to wells, then when Mason asked what that was she would have said something like "Backing your play" or "Teamwork" - NOT "Gumption" like she did. The only reason to say that is to throw it back in his face. Period.

Oh well. That scene and even the show are so not worth going over and over the same points again and again.... We don't agree and see it differently.. I get it.

  93. Interesting theories!

I have not really tried to work out exactly what Wells is up to I guess, but your ideas work as well as any I've read.

  95. Have you ever considered the possibility that Wells is in fact paralyzed and was using the Speed force to help him gain his mobility again?. Bc RF wouldn't lose his juice within 5 seconds lol or that maybe he made some deal with RF 14 yrs ago promising him he can help Wells save his Fiancee or heck maybe Wells himself is trying to become the RF and go back himself and save his Fiancee.
