So they're leaving us hanging by a thread until next Tuesday. Someone on the board mentioned that Shaw's actress Sarah Shahi might be pregnant in real life. This would explain if her character did, in fact, die. It's just a shock for any more major characters to die. They are already such a small group as it is, compared to Samaritan's numbers. And I hope that Jim Caviezel's Reese was wearing a bulletproof vest, since it looks like Reese got shot in the back. It's great that Camryn Manheim is coming back to Person of Interest as head of Control.
This is from the 3.12 synopsis: "Also, alarming news reports of a pair of vigilantes rampaging through the Northeast begin to surface"
After watching the promo: So, the two vigilantes? Reese and Root bringing the pain to Samaritan's agents? I initially thought it would be Grice and Brooks as they are mentioned as guest stars for the episode but now I have changed my mind.
It could also lead to moving her to a safe place, especially since she would have to recover from her wounds, if she is alive. Then, once the baby is born, she can be brought back. I don't want her to be dead, so I'm holding onto hope until I can't anymore.
Reese is beating up Grice who is on the ground. Reese and Root are interrogating Control who is tied to a chair.
Why are Reese and Root going after Control and not after Martine and co.? Do they have credible info that Control may have Shaw? Did Samaritan order Martine to hand over Shaw to Control?
well this will definitely have me on pins and needles til then..... I truly hope that Shaw is still alive, but til then, beware Samaritan as hell hath no fury like an angry Root/Reese who had someone close to them taken away....... I just hope that Bear gets to bite a Samaritan baddie.... lol
That is a really good theory. You have to remember that it's Decima who are the bad guys, not Samaritan. Although we don't know what Claypool taught Samaritan, if anything, we have to assume that it wouldn't want anyone to die. And Decima listens to Samaritan. That would also explain why Control says that way she does. "You think she's dead". Her tone suggested she knew something else.
So... Does Shaw somehow become relevant, in order to be saved by the government agents? Because I don't see other possibility for her to walk alive out of what we saw last night.
I don't want Shaw to be dead but writing her pregnancy into the show would be a terrible idea. She's not the kind of person who wants a baby, and she's definitely not the kind of woman who would hesitate to get an abortion if she wanted to. Shaw cannot be pregnant, it's just ridiculous.
Have you seen Life (another of Sarah Shahi's show)? There was the end of the penultimate episode: "- What do you want? - I want to have a peaceful soul. - And what do you need? - I need a bigger gun."
She had already gone thorugh the "playing-badass-while-being-pregnant" routine when she carried her first son and was the partner of Damian Lewis in Life. (What a good show it was!) I think she has tested her limits and knows where they are.
Plus while I see a lot of potential plausible explanation to her disappearance even till the end of next season (the show's thread make it possible) I don't see any for Shaw being pregnant and having a baby.
I wish her all the best with the twins and a long run for PoI to stay on screen until she feels ready to come back.
Maybe they can't go after Samaritan's agents (manypower or just not able to get to them) so they decide to go after Control who just has to know something. Or they have reason to believe Control had a part in it. I'm not sure how much she knows but I have a feeling they might turn her to their side after what happened. Not sure if she knows what Samaritan tried to do but I don't think she'd accept its methods
Sarah said they'd considered writing Shaw as pregnant but that she didn't want that. So as heartbroken as I'll be if she can't or won't come back, I do think this would be a fitting ending for Shaw, who always wanted to protect people. She chose to die, it wasn't to further the plot. I hope like hell she comes back but if she doesn't, it was respectful and built up to.
I'm happy she didn't accepted it. A person with a clinically diagnosed Axis II PD being a mom is a good topic for a full fledged drama, but I wouldn't like to see them handle it in the same way like how Fusco's son is mentioned only once a year.
In fact that's my only complaint not about this one episode, but her character: it seems to me as if the writers had some ideas about her and then dropped it and left the character half baked. Even though Shaw was in many episodes, her character evaluated much less than its potential.
I think the only way anyone could get out alive from the situation we've last seen Shaw in is if Samaritan ordered Martine to spare Shaw's life... Doesn't seem very likely, but, as we already know, apparently even the writers don’t know whether or not Shaw is alive at this point.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Now this really changes the game. Bring on the anti-tank launchers!

So many questions. ARGHHHH!!!!!!
I know. I want them to write her pregnancy into the show, or somehow hide her, if she is pregnant. I don't want her to be dead, either.

ReplyDeleteAAAHHH!! Who has Shaw?! And Reese shooting a bazooka is all I want in the world. I never get tired of watching that haha.

ReplyDeleteShaw is alive, Martine missed the artery
ReplyDeleteI'll take one for the team and knock her up
ReplyDeleteBazooka! Yay!

DebraFan is right. Don't you *ever* use bulletproof vests?...

ReplyDeleteI hope so, but based on the interviews I've read, it seems that they want to have a way to bring Sarah back, should she ever want it.
ReplyDeleteSure, I just want to know how :)
