For better or for worse, a loving family stays close. The first of the last three episodes of Parenthood “Let’s Go Home” was all about connecting and doing the right thing even if it is difficult and complicated.
Luncheonette’s fate seems sealed at the beginning of the episode. Adam didn’t want to go on with this business, and he was ready to get the money and move on. The importance of Brotherhood changed his mind. After talking with Jasmine he decides to give another shot to this business in order not to destroy Crosby’s dreams. The last scene with the two of them hugging was just heartfelt.
Julia and Joel are continuing their secret love affair between wife and husband. They are not sure about their future and so Julia doesn’t want her kids to know about their possible reconciliation and give them false hope. The part when Sydney comes in her bedroom and Joel hides under their bed was hilarious. I loved their kiss at the end of the episode on the skating ring: Julia trusted Joel, once again making their breakup just a distant nightmare. Julia/Joel storyline in these two years has been built with so delicacy and authenticity , that I am really proud of Jason Katims and his team. Thank you for all the teardrops.
At the beginning of the episode Sarah is still confused about the wedding proposal, but after a discussion with her mother she decides to marry Hank. For once, I loved their scenes together as well. They were so cute, and this could be the best possible ending for the rebellious daughter, Sarah Braverman.
Zeek is back at home, and he is dealing with his uncertain future. He goes around gathering things for his grandchildren and so he decides to get back a signed baseball ball from his old house. He and Camille get there but after watching a whole new family playing on their porch, he changes his mind. Life goes on, as we can say.
I loved this episode and all the storylines in it, because it really felt so real. As I said for “How Did We Get Here?” when Parenthood is focused on the Braverman, it shows us its best qualities. It is able to portray family defining moments with an high emotional level. This week was another amazing hour, about love, sacrifice and being a good sibling/parent. All these stories are coming to an end, and all I can say right now is: “I’m really going to miss this family”.
Don't miss next Thursday "We Made It Through the Night" at 10/9 c on NBC. What do you think of "Let's Go Home"?
I loved the episode...
ReplyDeleteMe too..sniff sniff.
ReplyDeleteApparently Jason Katims knows how to give a great ending to his tv series. After the great run of Friday Night Lights, now I'm really optimistic about Parenthood
