Once Upon a Time is enlisting an ad man for its next arc.

Patrick Fischler (Mad Men) will recur on Season 4 of the ABC drama as a peddler, TVLine has learned.

Fischler’s character comes across as well-intentioned but is actually a quick-witted, arrogant man with reckless impulses. He will appear in both the fairytale land and Storybrooke.

  5. I don't have anything against the actor, but considering that I didn't care at all for his character on "Lost" I can't say I'm particularly excited about this casting scoop, especially if he turns out to be the Author - I maintain that the author should be the woman who told the stories of 1001 nights (Scheherezade or whatever). If it is a sidekick of Cruella's then cool. He looks it.

  8. Hmmmm. He has a villainous kind of face ;-). But, we hardly need more villains. So I guess he could be the author as well. And then the question is ... Is the author a hero or a villain (in keeping with the 4B theme)?

  11. Scheherezade, the fictional character who told the stories of 1001 nights (including Aladdin, Sinbad etc). In her story she is chosen by the Sultan to sleep with him, but the Sultan in known for killing women after having sex. To escape this situation she comes up with 1001 stories, the sultan loves listenting to her stories so she can escape her death serveral nights. After 1001 nights he marries her if I remember correctly.

  12. Perfect for the villain.

  13. I think he is the Author. Why? Because his Storybrooke counterpart is a peddler. That is why he can visit any resident of storybrooke, wthout unmasking, and write all the stories.

  14. Isn't a woman responsible for telling the stories in 1001 Nights? She was a wife of the sultan, the latest of many, and she kept him entertained by her stories which always ended on a cliffhanger, and was responsible for his other wives being freed.
