New Girl - Review - "Shark"

Hi everyone, let's jump right in to last night's episode "Shark" and what it means for some of our characters moving forward. I'll start off with the standout arc of the episode for me, which was not the highlight of the episode featuring Ryan, Jess, Schmidt, and guest star Zoe Lister Jones as Councilwoman Fawn Moscado. It was Winston, his training officer, Coach, and Nick. I literally busted out laughing at their arrest scene in the suburbs after they had been following Winston because of the play on "Let's Be Cops". It was the perfect way to finish off their arc for the episode especially with the "Friends Anonymous" meeting where they let all of their emotions out for Winston. I am happy to finally say that Winston is a part of this group of characters with an important story arc that isn't related to loft antics or Ferguson.

Second, we have Jess and Ryan versus Councilwoman Moscado and Schmidt. Jess and Ryan performed a funny improv of why construction during the night makes it impossible for them to sleep and won over Councilwoman Moscado. She in turn tried to upstage Jess with Schmidt, who fell apart due to his infatuation with Councilwoman Moscado and concern over his ego/look. I was surprised to see such a jump from Cece and Schmidt at the airport to Schmidt falling for the Councilwoman, but truth be told, she's like Schmidt in every way, except she's a woman. I assume she'll be back throughout the season to use Schmidt to her need as well as create a triangle of problems with Cece. Moving forward, the arc seems to be set up character wise for the remainder of the season. Will Schmidt and Moscado be a problem for Scmidt and Cece, will Jess and Ryan stay together or break up before Valentine's Day, and honestly, where is "True American"? Tune in next week for more New Girl and comment below with your thoughts on last night's episode.
