NCIS: Los Angeles - In the Line of Duty - Review: "The Good & the Bad"
21 Jan 2015
NCIS: Los Angeles Reviews“In the Line of Duty” dealt with the attempt to kill the U. S. ambassador serving in Tunisia. Because two men were killed in the attack, including a Navy leader, NCIS begins investigating. That investigation takes Sam and Callen on a covert assignment to Tunisia where they barely escape with their lives. But they bring back valuable information to re-create the crime scene. Meanwhile, the terrorists make their way to Los Angeles as we find out the ambassador was not the real target. The Navy leader who died had led a Black Ops mission out of the Tunisian embassy that involved dozens of covert operatives. The terrorists were trying to gain information on these operations.
I hate to say this wasn't one of my favorite episodes this season. Granted, it did get better as it progressed, with several fun and interesting scenes that offered some good highlights. But the case itself kind of bored me. And I thought the show really missed an opportunity to showcase Sam and Callen in Tunisia. It’s always fun when the characters travel to another city or country as part of an operation. But the lighting in these scenes was so dark that you could barely see what was happening. Everything looked black and I was straining to see what was going on. Because they were in stealth mode, the scenes were quiet and lacked action so they didn’t hold a lot of tension and suspense like they should have. (Even Hetty’s instructions to stand down lacked a sense of urgency.) All you could hear were their voices from time to time, which was much less effective than seeing what was happening. I understand the scenes had to be dark to show the type of mission they were leading, but it was too extreme – not being able to see what they were doing detracted from the story and made me lose interest.
On the positive side, we saw a couple fun character scenes. And I was glad to see more of Eric in this episode. He had some funny lines. Plus, viewers were treated to some cool high-tech equipment that helped solve the case. I absolutely loved seeing the huge 3D printer the FBI brought in to re-create the crime scene, along with the LIDAR laser Sam and Callen used in Tunisia to get the information for the mapping. These lasers apparently use pulsed laser light to sense distances and ranges that can then generate precise, 3D information about an area. And that 3D printer was just incredible. I was amazed at the detail it could produce and the scale of the re-creation. Then there were the huge ladder-like stairways the teams used to enter the buildings where the terrorists were hiding at the end of the episode. The ladders just came right out the trucks – instant bleachers – and led the team onto top floors and over large walls in the blink of an eye. What a skillful, well-thought-out operation!
Sam and Callen
Callen wasn’t about to abandon his mission when he and Sam were in danger in Tunisia, even as Hetty told him to. He knew the guards were coming for them, but he still wanted a few more seconds to finish his job. I don’t know if this was insanity or confidence, but it worked. He wasn’t afraid of the danger. I liked how when the guards came into the room, the laser blinded them and they started shooting at the air, giving Sam and Callen a chance to escape. Of course, Sam wasn’t too happy about Callen putting them in so much danger. But they got what they needed and got out.
Later as Callen tracks down an old CIA buddy who knows something about the case, many nicknames are exchanged between him, Sam and the CIA agent. This scene was amusing. Callen first calls Sam “Huggy.” But the CIA agent in turn calls him “Butch,” which Sam finds entertaining. Later “Huggy” becomes “Hugs.” I think Callen enjoyed the opportunity to pick a name that de-emphasized Sam’s toughness. But that’s a hard thing to understate with Sam. Soon he demonstrates his intimidating demeanor with the agent, threatening that he lost a friend and wants information. The agent gives them just enough to let them know what’s going on.
I also enjoyed the scene where Sam and Callen check in with Eric and, for once, Eric’s tech skills don’t work. Something goes wrong and he can’t get his video to play. Sam and Callen look amused but quickly get impatient. These two are used to getting things done immediately and they apparently had no time to wait an extra 15 seconds. That shows you how efficiently things are run at NCIS.
Kensi and Deeks
My favorite scene of the episode was with Kensi and Deeks as they talked about cartoons while each wearing big bifocal eyeglasses. They looked hilarious with those glasses, and their conversation was great. Deeks’ references to Mr. Magoo fell on deaf ears with Kensi, leading them into a funny talk about “vintage animation” – or old cartoons. The two actors were perfect in the scene, gazing through those goofy-looking glasses and playing off one another. I love how Kensi called Deeks “Shaggy,” and it was perfect how in the middle of their conversation, the FBI agent asked, “What is this?” Deeks’ response was even better: “Oh, this? Don’t worry about this. This is just adorable partner banter. You’re gonna come to love this!” The FBI agent wasn’t even talking about them, but that’s okay – Deeks doesn’t mind being in his own world. I thought that part of the conversation perfectly echoed fan sentiment and paralleled what people love about the way these two interact.
I also thought it was clever of Deeks to trip the man with the briefcase going up the stairs at the federal building earlier so he could see what was inside and know if the man was indeed dangerous (which he was). I liked how the scene emphasized that Kensi always has Deeks’ back.
Eric
Eric amused me in this episode. His fun quirky side was on display, from mentioning that the 3D printer was the “world’s greatest Lego set,” to using his shopping host voice to give information. (“But wait, there’s more. Act now and we’ll throw in this, compliments of the FBI… But that’s not all. This limited time offer also gets you this guy.”) I also loved how confident he was as he thought he was showing Sam and Callen something great but his video wasn’t showing up. He is used to being a know-it-all so having an “off” moment was amusing. I also loved when Sam told him, “Use your wizardry to make it work, Gandalf.” I really enjoy Eric’s character. He is such an eager beaver, ready to please and demonstrate what he knows. He loves his job and he has fun doing it.
The Team
I thought the terrorist capture scene at the end was very nicely done. The action, the large moving ladder stairs and the repelling down the wall were all fun elements to the scene. I enjoyed how Sam and Callen were in charge of the entire operation and I liked how Sam and Kensi each shot a man in the house, working as a team to ensure each other’s safety. (Did you notice how that man came right behind Kensi and was aiming to shoot downstairs? Wouldn’t he just have shot Kensi instead? Of course, I’m glad he didn’t. But that didn’t make sense to me.) Deeks knocking the jihadist on the back of the head was the final icing on the cake of a well-planned action sequence.
But the best team scene was definitely the ending scene as they all tease Deeks, who really wanted to use the 3D printer to re-create a Sketch Armstrong doll or a Hetty Bobblehead doll. I didn’t understand the Sketch Armstrong reference and had to look it up. It turns out it’s a large gel-filled action figure from the 70s. So I guess Deeks likes “vintage” toys along with his “vintage animation.” The team then appropriately calls him a Bobblehead and a Chia Pet as Sam asks what is wrong with him. Though it felt a little manipulative, the FBI agent then comments that the team’s dynamic works. Again, though, I thought this was another good example of a character’s comments perfectly reflecting viewer sentiment. They do indeed work very well together. Callen sums it up nicely as he says they are all “one big happy, slightly dysfunctional family.” That’s a perfect way to describe them. Deeks then says good night to all of them, calling Nell “Nay-Nay” and Sam “John-boy.” I can only imagine Sam’s responses to that one.
Other Thoughts
- Hetty and Granger had a nice little banter over her tea drinking. I especially liked her question, asking if Granger needed something or was just looking to kick a kitten.
- I really thought the Navy man who lost his life was going to turn out to be bad after he nodded at the ambassador during the shootout – and possibly the ambassador, too. My hunches were wrong.
- I thought it was interesting that it wasn’t Hetty’s call to decide who went to Tunisia, but Sam and Callen’s decision. They really have a lot of authority to make decisions on their own.
- Only Deeks would ask, “What’s up, boys? How’s the honeymoon going?” after Sam and Callen almost just died.
- I found the ambassador to be a very serious character. While someone in that position would have to be serious, unfortunately I didn’t think Julie Chen brought a lot of charisma to the role. She played it very straight and, for me, ended up being kind of dull.
What did you think of "In the Line of Duty?" Tell us your likes and dislikes in the comments below.
I think this episode was pretty good. Not out of the park great, but it's always nice to see shows go international. So many cop shows are confined to one city or area (Blue Bloods, Chicago PD, CSI), its nice to see international travel
ReplyDeleteI agree!! This episode was excellent because this series is all excellent. I love Densi! I´m a big fan. NCIS LA is best in the world and I hope she will get season 7 and another seasons.
ReplyDeleteEpisode wasn't awesome, true but I still like it. Story was ok. I'm more interesting how the characters play role in the episode. We still got action, humor and little piece of their relationship as a team. I think show is all about that and thats why i like it and we can see it in all episodes. I also like when they call Deeks "Shaggy", he really looks like him, from cartoon. They should call Kensi "Kenselina" more often, it is funny. Deeks just rocked there asking Callen and Sam “What’s up, boys? How’s the honeymoon going?” and response from Sam was hilarious. Sam and Callen are lead agents despite Callen being Head Agent, Sam makes decision more often than Callen and we can see it in this episode too. Best scene for me, was last one. I just like Deeks' character and when they making fun of him.
ReplyDeleteAll in all, good episode.
I always like to see international travel, too! It makes it fun. :)
ReplyDeleteI love the series, too, and am a big Densi fan! I also hope we get a season 7. Thanks for sharing your comments.
ReplyDeleteThis wasn't my favorite either, but it was hardly awful. Like you said, slightly lacking in oomph, but otherwise pretty solid. I loved the little bits of banter; lots of giggles there. And Deeks really does love the classics: Mr. Magoo, Stretch Armstrong, and the Waltons! Kensi calling him a Chia pet was pretty good too; I think he's been rubbing off on her. ;)
ReplyDeleteI have to agree with you that this was not one of the better episodes this season. I too would have liked the episode better if Sam and Callen's time in Tunisia had been handled better. I agree that everything was too dark and you couldn't tell what was happening. I did enjoy the banter on the plane coming back, and Deeks teasing them about their honeymoon. I think my favorite scenes were Sam/Callen and the CIA guy, and the scene at the end where the team talks about being a family. Loved Deeks referencing the ending of every Waltons episode by telling everyone goodnight one by one and even calling Sam John-Boy. That was definitely for the shows older fans who remember the Waltons. Probably younger fans didn't even catch that reference and were wondering who the heck John-Boy is but I got the reference and thought it was great. I thought the case and the overall plot of this episode was kind of dull. Maybe I just got spoiled with Humbug and Spiral, both of which I thought were exceptional episodes. I think this show is at its best when the characters come first and the case and the action are secondary. I liked the episode but didn't love it. Probably my least favorite episode this season.
ReplyDeleteI wasn't going to comment this week. It was my favorite episode either. I agree it had some great scenes, but it was kind of uneven. I am commenting because, dear Tonya, you are so young. You had to look up what a stretch armstrong doll is. I had one growing up. Loved it...more than this episode. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comments, Mario! Glad you liked the episode. I like it when the characters are front and center, too. You're right - we still got action, humor and a piece of their relationship as a team. Those are all great things! Deeks really does look like Shaggy! I also enjoy when everyone makes fun of Deeks. The team often bonds over that! Good scene. I enjoyed hearing your perspective, thanks!
ReplyDeleteHaha - maybe Kensi HAS been rubbing off on Deeks! I didn't realize the Waltons reference until it was explained here. I agree - the episode definitely wasn't awful. There were still many good things, including the fun banter!
ReplyDeleteGlad to know I wasn't the only one who didn't love the episode, though there were still a lot of good things about it. (You put it well - "I liked the episode but didn't love it.") But I think you're right - maybe we got spoiled with Humbug and Spiral so now average episodes aren't good enough for us. Lol. :) The banter on the plane coming back was fun. Thanks for explaining the Waltons reference. I haven't seen it and didn't catch the reference at all. So I really appreciate the explanation! That makes it even better.
ReplyDeleteHaha. Thanks for making me feel young, Jack! Now I know about stretch armstrong dolls - and the Waltons references at the end that I didn't catch because I didn't know about the Waltons. (Did you catch that?) Thanks for your thoughts on the episode.
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, yes! I totally got the Waltons reference. I used to watch that show as a kid, with my mother and my sister. My dad grew up in the Depression. He didn't want the reminder. I assume you understood the Mr. Magoo reference that started the banter in that scene. I also used to watch those cartoons (sorry Deeks, animated shorts). Anyway, that was one of the better scenes, for sure. Thanks for walking down memory lane with me.
ReplyDeleteOh, and I wonder if the writers knew about stretch armstrong because of the recent car commercials featuring an animated stretch armstrong. I want to say it was a Honda ad, but I don't remember.
ReplyDeleteTonya..I felt the same way as you did about this episode..it wasn't my favorite and the case itself wasn't very interesting..
ReplyDeleteI missed the usual opening that we see after the credits roll...and I suppose they skipped it..to try and give the case...that torn from the front pages feel and an extra sense of heightened danger...but it didn't do that for me.
There were a few cool set pieces..like .the 3 D printer..which is the first time I've ever seen that used in a TV show.
And the ladder trucks were also a first...but I think the impact of the assault ..lost a little something..when we saw the teams pop outta of the claustrophobic and red lighted interior of the trucks..,.,,into the lovely blue skies & sunshine that is Southern California! :)
Once again.I couldn't help but notice...that.the bad guys were kind enough...to make sure to did their nefarious nastiness...before the sun set & dinner for the cast & crew got cold at home! lol
Another thing that has always "intrigued" me ...is how often the team members show up at the home of a suspect or person involved in the latest case...only to find the front door of any house they want to enter...either unlocked.or wide open.
I'm wondering...are all those unlocked doors.. just another TV coincidence...like how people driving a car on film..always manage to find a great parking spot... directly in front of the place they want to go to...or something people living in LA.....just do on a regular basis??? lol
.
As for the special guest star Julie Chen.. like you...I wasn't actually blown away by her performance...as I think her TV fame as a host ...over shadowed her believability as an American Ambassador in danger of losing her life.
.( The only "real" danger I feel Julie might be in..is if her husband..CBS head honcho Les Moonves' wallet ever falls on her foot!! lol)
All in all ...the episode felt like a filler...and definitely not up to the standards of Humbug or Spiral.
Speaking of Humbug...Im curious..when & if....we will start seeing..any difference in how Deeks & Kensi interact with each other and the rest of the team..now that they're "all in" and a couple.
I hope the writers will begin to address this subject soon....before the happy Densi buzz generated in Humbug...slowly but surely...begins to fade away..the longer we see no notable change in Deeks & Kensi's actions and behavior towards one another.
''I didn’t understand the Sketch Armstrong reference and had to look it up''
ReplyDeletewhen Deeks talked about Sketch Armstrong doll he was talking about Sam. It happened in season 3, the story between Sam and his daughter.
Hi Tonya! I always look forward to your reviews. I liked this episode more than you did. That action scene with the ladders was awesome! One of my favorite moments was when Sam said "You're welcome" after shooting that guy behind Kensi. He's adorable.
ReplyDeleteI hope for a meatier string of episodes as the season progresses. I'm a sucker for Densi, you know, so after the next couple of Sam/Callen-focused episodes that appear to be on the horizon (according to synopses from CBS), I'm crossing my fingers for a little more about Deeks & Kensi. In particular, I'd like to see if ECO had any kissing tutorials over the holidays.
Your comment wondering if ECO had any kissing tutorials made me laugh out loud! :)
ReplyDeletePersonally...I was not a fan of that 1 st kiss in Humbug...as it looked more like Deeks was doing his best impression of a out of control Hoover vacuum cleaner... as the lower half of Kensi's face suddenly disappeared off my TV screen !!
I really liked how DR played the scene before that kiss..she sounded playful & happy.
ECO on the other had...had this serious look on his face ...like he was doubting Kensi's words. and decided to interrupt her while she was in mid sentence.. before Kensi could change her mind.
The 2nd Densi kiss in Humbug was better..but the first one...was kinda cringe worthy....and straight out of the Harrison Ford's... How Not to Kiss on Screen Handbook!
In case your not sure what Im talking about..check out a few of Ford's kissing scenes on You Tube..or.. just ask Tonya! lol ;).
..
If we're going to dissect kisses here, let me start by saying that until Humbug, I thought the kiss during Descent was mediocre. I can see my expectations need adjusting. That being said, I liked that Deeks was serious while Kensi was talking, and I do appreciate what they were trying to do there. Either way, I love them together, so yay.
ReplyDeleteIs it just me, or does this season seem a lot "lighter" than previous ones? It's not that I don't like the levity—I just get a different vibe from Season 6. Maybe someone's overcompensating for the darker tone of S5? I don't know… I like a mixture. Then again, I seem to be the only fan who loved S5, so I should probably be ignored.
Well, that was off topic—back to kissing: I haven't seen the Harrison Ford videos, so I'll head over to YouTube and check them out. I thought he did a nice job in The Empire Strikes Back, but, uh, that was like 35 years ago… and he was playing a spaceman.
Be sure to keep in touch, re: kissing. As you know, this is a very important topic.
I thought the kiss in Descent was pretty good...especially when compared to the facial mugging that Kensi had to put up from Deeks in Humbug!
ReplyDeleteThe good news is..I also love that their now together!
I just hope we will see some episodes before S6 ends..showing us Densi fans... thier new "all in" status.
I enjoyed S5 .....but everything got uber serious & duller.....after Kensi got shipped overseas.
Seems once they split up Deeks & Kensi after episode 10..a lot of the humor....vanished from the show.
As for season 6..I thought it started out...very ho hum..... and the fact that Densi fans didn't know what the heck was going on with Deeks & Kensi's "thing" didn't help matters any.
.There have been more lighter moments in S6....and I for one hope we see more humor in the remaining episodes...as the humor and banter between the characters..is one of the main reasons I watch the show..
Speaking of humor....I still can;'t figure out..why Granger is still on the show...his character..is the human version of Oscar The Grouch..and he's a one trick pony...who's emotional gamut..runs all the way...from A to B!!. lol
Granger is boring to watch & listen to..because.he is always in a bad mood and barking out orders. and it seems the only reason he;s on the show.is .to give Heddy...aka.. .Linda Hunt..a break from the set.
I wish they would kill his character off already..and give his lines & screen time..to the rest of the cast.
Heck Id rather see Monty become a regular & get his name in the credits..than be stuck with more seasons of that stiff Granger!!
As for the kissing stuff on the show..I feel it is a very important subject..ranking right up there in importance..with the NFL's deflated football scandal and who's the culprit who photoshopped Justin Bieber undies ad!! :)
And to help you out in the Harrison Ford kissing videos...here are two of my cough cough...favorites!!
As you might notice in these 2 examples I provided..ECO... has nothing on Harrison.....when it comes to the term.."sucking face!" lol
That skill set...belongs to 1 man..and one man only!!
Hopefully..we will never see Deeks...give Kensi the..( cue the dramatic music) Full On Harrison Ford treatment...( or as it's better known in certain parts of the country & in industry by it's acronym the FOHF.)..
On a scale of 1 to 10 on the FOHF...the kiss in Descent only ranked a 2...and the one in Humbug.,..a 3.5.......according to industry insiders that I spoke with !! lol :)
........
Anyway...here for your viewing pleasure..or not.....are the scenes. Enjoy!! :).

My god, it's like he's punching those poor women with his mouth! In retrospect, I guess the kiss from Descent wasn't so bad after all. I wish to hell they had gone in the direction of the deleted scene from Spoils of War.--much sexier. I get that they're in-laws and all, so it's unlikely we'll get a whole lot of sexy fun times. Too bad though--they're just so damned pretty.
ReplyDeleteI know people don't like to think about it, but the scene in Plan B where Max Gentry makes out with Nicole is proof ECO can do better. Such a shame it was wasted though
So riddle me this: Which side of the "did they or didn't they" fence do you come down on after the restaurant scene at the end of Recovery? I'm on Team Of Course They Did. .
I love the humor of the show too. It's a huge part of what makes it such fun to watch. Still, I like when things get heavy sometimes. I'm too old for angst, so I get my fix vicariously.
And finally... I love Granger. I know - I can't explain it either.
lol Glad you now see the kiss in Descent...in a whole new light! :)
ReplyDeleteAs for Harrison ..he was lucky...his lips weren't charged with assault & battering ram!! ;)
I agree 100% with you.....that deleted scene from Spoils of War... was sexy and romantic ...but I suppose it doesn't count.....because it was never aired! :(
But now that their "all in" ....maybe they could include it in a future episode..in a flashback sequence.
As for the in laws business..Im sure that has put a big crimp in the sexy fun times we will see ..but as that deleted scene demonstrated.....in laws or no in laws...those two pretty people.have lots of chemistry..so maybe we will get some more sexy fun time Densi moments.( on screen this time)...before they call it a wrap on the show.....
The kiss in Plan B...was definitely sexier and more genuine looking....than anything ECO did in Humbug.
Im guessing...maybe .ECO felt a little pressure...to make that 1 st official "all In" Densi kiss...epic and .extra special... since he knew this was the moment Densi fans had waited so long to see.
So he went a tad overboard..in an attempt to make the kiss unforgettable.
As for your question...I'm definitely also on Team Of Course They Did!
That's the only conclusion I can come up with....based on what Deeks said to Kensi before they got up and left the restaurant together...and knowing that thier "thing" was something that had been building and bubbling inside of both characters..for 5 seasons..
Then of course..there's the conversations & awkwardness in The Frozen Lake....AKA...the very next day..showing & telling us..that something more that staying up all night & chatting..went on between the two of them.
Course the final proof....is the deleted scene...which I'm going to assume..was filmed because they planned on showing it..that is until.. ..somebody higher up in the food chain...got cold feet..
I enjoy the heavier stuff too...like the convos we heard in The Frozen Lake. between Deeks & Kensi.
One of my favorite scenes in that episode..was watching Kensi sitting nervously in the van..while Deeks was inside the store with the bad guys.
DR did a fantastic job..of trying to look professional while clearly demonstrating by her facial mannerisms.....her grave concern for her partner & the man she was falling for.
"I love Granger. I know - I can't explain it either."
lol Thats ok.,..these things happen,,,afterall..only 4 out of 5 dentists ever agree on anything..so..it's all good!! :)
.
Yes, TOTAL bummer that the Spoils of War deleted scene doesn't count now. I REALLY wish it did. I love that they're "all in," but it's like we missed a whole chapter. They went from "will they or won't they" status straight into "we've been dating for two years" mode in one scene. It's just a little disappointing.
ReplyDeleteThe titillating restaurant scene at the end of Recovery (which might be my favorite Densi scene ever) and all of Frozen Lake were so "them." It was the perfect start to something. I even thought the Afghanistan arc worked to move their relationship along. But now I feel a little cheated. Are they just going to be like an old married couple now? Sheesh—I've got enough of that here at home.
Cold-footed producers shouldn't be allowed in the editing suite. That is all.
lol The cold footed fool who decided to chop that scene out of Spoils of war....needs to have a herd of wild wildebeest...mating in his Fruit of the Looms!".
ReplyDelete"Are they just going to be like an old married couple now? Sheesh—I've got enough of that here at home."
lol Im sure you were just jesting about you & the hubby.....but I sure hope they don't mess up...."all in" Densi...by either making them boring or acting like..their is no noticeable difference..between the old Densi & the new and improved...."all in" version!
And don't give up on that edited scene just yet....because who knows...they might see the error of their ways... one day...and find a way to edit it into an episode and make it count!
I also loved that restaurant scene ..and the scene right before it..when Deeks asks Kensi if she wants to have a bite to eat and she says..."Perfect!" while giving him two thumbs up....when he suggest tacos!
( Ever since I saw Kensi do that...I give people the thumbs up at work when they say stuff to me.............clearly..I need to get a life! lol )
The way he gently bumps into her as their leaving work.....everything about that last few minutes of Recovery was fantastic.
The only way it could have been a little better..is if Kensi would have touched Deeks shoulder... as she walked past him....but I loved how that scene was filmed..with the mood lighting and they way Kensi silently looks back and Deeks.....thinking about her answer,,,,after Deeks tells her... he wants to be back with her at his place.
I've watched that scene...uh..more than once..blush blush..and I noticed..that just before Kensi gets up..she tilts her head ever so slightly.. giving Deeks...the..."Lets go!:..signal!
Sigh...If only....we could have seen and heard... a little of what was going on between them...as they drove back to Deeks apt.
Im guessing..their usual back & forth bantering...was put aside...and I picture both of them..mostly being silent...maybe holding hands...as they drive thru the LA summer night towards his apt.
lol Just picturing that scene in my mind..made me happy...:)
Breathless CBS announcer guy.....
" Deeks & Kensi..are always undercover..but next Monday..their under the covers!!!
ONLY...on CBS!"
Hahaha! Now we're talkin'! Poor Tonya. We've totally hijacked her thread.
ReplyDeleteI am so glad I'm not the only one to dissect that scene from Recovery. For some reason I like to think they drove back to his place separately--each in their own car thinking "OMG, OMG, WTH is happening??"
YES, I noticed Kensi's ever-so-slight nod at the table--and how 'bout the closeup of ECO's smile in ops after he says "perfect" and turns toward the camera to walk away? Still holding out for that edited scene!
I think I need a life...
lol Im guessing Tonya is fine with us babbling away about Densi..as she's probably busy..sking down some hill in St Moritz or enjoying a tall beverage on some other exotic beach! :)
ReplyDeleteI like your idea that they drove back to Deeks place in separate cars and thinking..OMG outloud ...
.But...since Kensi showed up to work with the same shirt on.....it tells me maybe.. they drove together to Deeks..cuz if Kensi had her own car..Im guessing she would have wanted to get home & change clothes before going into work.....case any of her sharp eyed co workers..notice something!! lol :)
lol I hear you on the needing the life thing...but..its still fun sharing these special Deeks & Kensi moments with a fellow Densi fan! :)
Deeks: “What’s up, boys? How’s the honeymoon going?” ... Sam's response was something like: "Do you really want to go there?" ... as in - Densi you don't wan to be talking about this kind of stuff in public do you - we all know, but out of respect? haven't been talking about it
ReplyDeleteI agree....the rest of the team knows about Deeks & Kensi's upgrade in their partnership...but out of respect for them....are not going to bring any unwanted attention to it while their all at work.
ReplyDeleteIf they do..it will be in a teasing way..like Sam did.
The interesting thing to watch for..is how will Hetty... and more importantly..Mr Cuddles...Granger...see Deeks & Kensi as partners now and their role within the team.
Will they view Densi's new status..as harmless..and be ok with......or will they see it...as potentially harmful.and detrimental to the over all effectiveness of the team?.
For dramatic writing purposes...it could open the door to some heartache and unseen road blocks..for both Deeks & Kensi.
Im guessing....that were in the calm before the storm phase of The Crush Team... and sooner rather than later....things will happen....that will cause either one or both of them... to question the wisdom of their all in decision..or..on the other hand....it might make Densi stronger...both as partners & in their relationship.
My hope is...if the show runners decide to make things tough on Deeks & Kensi's sometime down the road.......that they will emerge... stronger & even more united,
