The network has handed out pickups to People Are Talking and Take It From Us, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
People Are Talking, which had a script commitment attached, hails from writer DJ Nash (Growing Up Fisher) and exec producer Will Packer (Ride Allong). The comedy examines sex, race and everything else your parents told you never to talk about.
Take It From Us, meanwhile, landed at the network in October with a script-plus-penalty commitment. Written by Friends alum Greg Malins and Barry Schwartz (Your Family or Mine), the comedy centers on a couple who tells their son the lessons they learned growing up in the '90s in the hopes that he avoids making the same mistakes.

NBC, go home you're drunk/
ReplyDeleteDiversity is great and TV always can use more diversity but it's getting to the point that I'm wondering if NBC is picking up any pilot that has the word race or diversity in it.
ReplyDeleteI gotta say, when I was searching the pilots seeing which ones NBC should pick up I easily crossed these ones off. Both from a business and personal standpoint.
ReplyDeleteNBC is airing three white comedies now and nothing else. Don't you mean ABC?
ReplyDeleteIt's smart for them to pick up as many "diverse" pilots as possible so that they can more easily pick the best testing pilots of the bunch.
ReplyDeleteIf they have 5 diverse comedy pilots ordered then they can easily choose the best 1 or 2 to order to series.
Take It From Us seems decent, the other one... just sad.
