Update:
Sony has denied the Spider-Man rumor to CBR News here.
Original Post:
Captain America: Civil War
Captain America: Civil War exposes that Bucky killed Howard Stark, Iron Man and Captain America fight, Tony Stark is discouraged (I’m vague on how he ends up at the moment), Black Panther is introduced, Crossbones kills Steve Rogers at the end of the film, giving us a nice big cliffhanger from Marvel Studios’ two most profitable characters (Iron Man and Captain America). Since I’m so vague on what happens to Iron Man, but I’m pretty sure he can’t be flitting in and out of other Phase 3 movies without reducing the impact of his future return, let’s just say he’ll also be in space.

Doctor Strange
Doctor Strange hits and I really think Marvel will avoid polluting this movie with too much crossover as they have to introduce the Astral Plane. But I do think Doctor Strange is on the short list for who will lead the New Avengers in Cap’s absence.

Thor: Ragnarok
Thor: Ragnarok will kill a lot of Asgardians, resurrect some of them, and Thor will end up in some sort of prison (described to me as a “galactic prison,” but I don’t know if that means not in Asgard or what).

Avengers: Infinity War
Here's what I understand: Steve Rogers is not in this movie. He is dead. Thor is not in this movie, he is imprisoned. Spider-Man IS in this movie, the Sony deal went through.
I don’t have the exact details nor a paper trail, but I’m told we’ll see an MCU Spider-Man in Infinity Wars Part 1, as that was the next logical place to insert him after they missed the window to logically include him in Civil War.
It’s sounding like Infinity War Part 1 will be the first true test of our New Avengers team (line-up still pending, but here are the potentials: Quicksilver, Scarlet Witch, Vision, Black Panther, Dr. Strange, Ant-Man, Wasp, Captain Marvel, Luke Cage, Daredevil, Iron Fist, Jewel/Power Woman, ANY of the New Inhumans, ANY of the classic Inhumans, ANY of the Guardians of the Galaxy and ANY Cosmic Marvel characters Guardians chooses to send to Earth...oh, and Spider-Man). However, Infinity Wars Part 1 won’t include any of our classic Phase 1 and 2 Avengers because…
...they’ll all return in Infinity Wars Part 2.

ComicBookMovie has summarized all the information and it is as follows:
Okay, so it seems Steve Rogers is gonna kick the bucket at the end of Captain America: Civil War. Word is it's the revelation that Bucky was responsible for Howard Stark's death that triggers the bad blood between Rogers and Tony, and the end result is Crossbones taking out the Star Spangled Avenger. Info on what happens to Iron Man is vague, but it sounds as if he'll wind up in space somehow. In Thor: Ragnarok, lots of Asgardians will die and be resurrected, and the God of Thunder will be confined to a "galactic prison". This takes 3 of the main Avengers out of the picture for Infinity War Part 1, which will focus on a completely new team, along with Spidey of course! The roster is not yet finalized apparently, but some potentials include: Quicksilver, Scarlet Witch, Vision, Black Panther, Dr. Strange, Ant-Man, Wasp, Captain Marvel, Luke Cage, Daredevil, Iron Fist, Jewel/Power Woman, any Guardian of the Galaxy, and any Inhuman.

I don't think any of this is true (and Marvel already denied the Spider-man part) but I do want Chloe Bennet to have major roles in both Infinity War and Inhumans.
ReplyDeleteBoy that would be a BIG risk putting an Avengers movie out there without any of the original cast.
ReplyDeleteStraight BS!
ReplyDeleteSorry but if Cap is dying it isn't at the hands of Crossbones
ReplyDeleteThis doesn't seem legit.
ReplyDeleteThis almost seems like somebody's fanfiction.
ReplyDeleteEven if it was it's not anymore. But this does seem like somebody just pieced what they think will happen together from past comic book storylines. As we learned from Agents of Shield, they usually completely twist everything around so it's totally different. It would make for interesting fanfiction though although not necessarily a big budget movie.
ReplyDeleteim starting to worry that Black Widow will die in Age of Ultron, there hasnt been any mention of her being part of Captain America 3, in this post she isnt mentioned either and the lack of a solo movie, all that combined really worries me.
ReplyDeleteAdd in the fact that they've added several female heroes including Melinda May, Mockingbird, and Quake with more to come I find it even more likely that Black Widow will not make it to the end of the movie. The big question is will she stay dead?
ReplyDeleteCaptain America - Civil War:
ReplyDeleteSteve biting the big one is a big possibility and given Chris Evans upcoming hiatus from acting makes it a pretty viable possibility. Steve being killed by Crossbones is something I could see happening but it'd serve a more dramatic effect if Tony is in some way responsible, not directly murdering Steve but leading the way to it. Later feeling so guilty that he boards his new space vehicle (wich is in the beginning of the movie described as being too dangerous to try out) and leaves.
Avengers 2
Not having ANY member of the original team in Avengers 2 is a large risk, so risky even that it's a business move no company ever would support. I could easily see only 3 members appearing but not none.
Avengers 2 Part 2
sure, I get that. Thor being imprisoned is probably not a reason not to have him appear in Part 1 (wich will probably just end up being a smaller role in Part 1). Tony could return from space with the Guardians joining in on the fun. And Steve being used by Thanos as a puppet
Actually this is rumors that she will be arrested in Cap 3 for aiding Steve Rogers and this will allow Scarlet to be off Marvel films so she can spend time with her family but they didn't say how long she would be in jail her character.
ReplyDeleteparts of it I could easily see happen, the Spiderman deal is probably not even done yet. So I could see Sony and Marvel to turn that one around.
ReplyDeleteBut the Infinity War stuff is pretty unbelievable. Yeah, Steve leaving makes sense though
Sony has denied the Spiderman rumor.

Thanks for this, I'll update the post.
ReplyDeleteIf this is legit, YAY for Wasp/Evangeline Lilly joining The Avengers!
ReplyDeleteSTEVE CAN'T DIE WHAT THE HELL?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, if this happens i don't know what i'll do i don't want to be done with the MCU but if this happens i don't know
ReplyDeleteyou really think they'll all be okay? Steve alive, Tony on Earth and Thor free?
ReplyDeleteI'm guessing you don't read comics.
ReplyDeleteThat's a longstanding rumor that Steve will be killed at some point and Bucky will become the new Captain America.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't be surprised if one of these is true. Cap dying, or Thor ending being imprisoned. But I find it hard to believe Marvel would risk removing their three biggest Avengers from Infinity Wars all at once. I would actually quite like to see Cap's assassination if it gives us more Sharon Carter, and of course if he's definitely going to come back. But this all seems a little far fetched. Also, why wouldn't Natasha, Bruce and Clint remain in the Avengers for Infinity War part 1? Just because the other three are gone, they're going to vanish too?
ReplyDeleteReally hope the Spider-Man deal did go through though (:
That's the first I've heard of that but I've read multiple times that Bucky will takeover the role at some point. The actor signed a 9 picture deal with Marvel Studios so that makes sense to me.
ReplyDeleteThe reason why a lot of people think Steve Rogers is going to die is because Chris Evans wants to retire from acting when his contract is up. You're right they don't have to kill off the character. They could do something similar to what they are doing in the comics right now and have Steve Rogers rapidly age, meaning he would be played by a different actor than have Bucky or Sam, and I would prefer Sam, be the new Captain America for a movie or two. Then the aging process is reversed and Steve Rogers is played by a new younger actor. Also even if they killed the character off that doesn't mean anything because they killed off Coulson and then gave him his own TV show.
ReplyDeleteWow, if any of this is ture, it´s going to be terrible and I hope Joss Whedon stays away from it.
ReplyDeleteohhhhhhhhhh. Power Woman? Really? Loving the Infinity War part 1 rumour. I could do with a break from the current Avengers.
ReplyDeleteCap dies in the comics too.
ReplyDeleteI don't believe sh*t from Sony these days
ReplyDeleteWithout the current team of Avengers I wont bother with the 3rd Avengers movie and beyond.
ReplyDeleteI hope so
ReplyDeletekilling of Chris's Captain would be a huge mistake
ReplyDeletesame here
ReplyDeleteNo because of contract negotiations someone is going to get put on the metaphorical bus. Either that or they're going to have to recast. Just remember they killed off Coulson and then revived him to give him his own TV show. Even death is not permanent in the MCU and we are already on our second Hulk. I personally think they're not going to kill off Steve because that's exactly what they did in the Civil War comic and people expecting it to happen again and therefore they're going to do the exact opposite.
ReplyDeleteIf it's true bout Thor being in a Galactic Prison i can think of The Collector will capture Thor as his most valuable possession.
ReplyDeleteDunno... some of it sounds plausible, most of it feels like BS...
