YAHOO: There were some gorgeous shots in this episode, beginning with Raylan driving that Federale, whose car he crashed into, to the U.S side of the border. The dust was so cool.
GRAHAM YOST: Wasn't that awesome — the big wide shot where Raylan breaks the car hard and the whole cloud of dust just rolls past the car. We were just trying to figure out, what's Raylan gonna do if he's tryin' to bring down Boyd and he doesn't just want to back him into a corner and shoot him? How's he gonna do it? He's got a pretty good idea that Boyd killed Johnny Crowder. How could he get him for that? So that became our line, and then that led into the Dewey of it all.
YAHOO:We see Ava drinking in the morning, which also sets an uneasy tone.
YOST: She says it to Raylan: She's terrified that she's gonna say the wrong thing and Boyd's gonna put a bullet in her head. You know that we play with that. It's a big question: We would assume that there's been a little voice in the back of his head questioning [Ava's release from jail and her loyalty], but he doesn't want to engage with that too much. The fear from the other direction is, well, if you don't deliver [intel to Raylan], you're going back to jail. So, it's a really simple dilemma for her, but it's pretty rough.
