    No, I think that's just excitement over finishing filming season one and hoping for a season two. A renewal is obvious, of course, but that's not an announcement.

    Does it really matter? ABC is not in a position to anger Shonda by cancelling any of her shows and tempting her to roam.

    It's going to be renewed even if it's hard to conceive that the could create an umbrella story like this one - Main character's husband, who was involved with murdered girl, killed by one of her proteges. Those stakes really can't be topped no matter how Annalise is involved in a future murder - even if it's one of her team or one of the students, which is going to be my guess.

    Well if we're counting HTAWM as a Shonda show even though she's not the creator only a producer then technically one of "her" show have been cancelled before, remember "Off The Map?" That was a Shondaland show that was cancelled 4 years ago.

    Shonda has an exclusivity deal with ABC Studios that dictates that ABC has first-hand rights for any pilot Shondaland produces. Is only if ABC declines the pilot and the series, that they can get shipped around for other networks. So Shonda is not exactly in a position to roam.


    Besides, HTGAWM would only be renewed because ABC doesn't want to anger Shonda, right? It's not based on merit or anything.
