Thanks to mac for the heads up.
I spoke to Zachary Quinto about Other Things at #Sundance2015, and he is definitely not going back to #Heroes. Here! pic.twitter.com/KypOVnPKOr

“I’m not going back,” the actor told BuzzFeed. “[Series creator] Tim [Kring] reached out to me when they decided they were going to do it. We had a great conversation. It was such a meaningful experience for me. I just felt like I didn’t want to go back to it.
“Tim was very, very understanding,” Quinto added. “I’m thrilled that they’re doing it. I’m thrilled that Jack Coleman is going back to it. It’s a great thing to be a part of. I just felt like I need to cultivate other outlets for myself.”

I can't blame him. I'm curious to see this new one and I will definitely give it a shot. But after the way the first one went down the drain after the first season or two I can't blame some of the actors for moving on and not wanting to return.
ReplyDeleteThey went waaay off the rails for the second season onward and they just kept going. Hopefully they won't screw this one up as well.
ReplyDeleteyou think he should though? i mean the show pretty much sucked after those two seasons
ReplyDeletei figured but it's nice to get confirmation, so the main three of the original series are officially not returning: Peter, Claire and Sylar
ReplyDeleteI'll blame the writer's strike partly for that one. But not completely as it should of evened out later.
ReplyDeleteNo real surprise there, I never expected him to go back anyway. I'll give it chance only because I loved Jack Coleman's character and Zach Levi joined, but I don't have high hopes for this...
ReplyDeleteMore like "Heroes Unknown"
ReplyDeleteNo I don't think Zachary Quinto should come back I didn't even expect him to at all in the first place. That storyline and character is done I think if they want this new one to be interesting and good they need to start fresh with new characters. After the way they ruined the other show with those awful last seasons I don't want to see most of the characters any more.
ReplyDeleteNo surprise here!Good for him!
ReplyDeleteHe has time to do "The Slap" but not a single episode or two of Heroes Reborn? He could have at least done so for the fans but eh oh well. I guess the show is mostly about new heroes anyways and doesn't really need him. Still disappointing though.
ReplyDeleteno i meant should Zach Levi be here on this trainwreck of a show
ReplyDeleteyou blame them for making Peter from the most powerful Hero to a normal one? that was after the Strike so that's their own fault
ReplyDeleteSylar should have died in season 1 finale.
ReplyDeleteDidn't Sylar die in the original?
ReplyDeleteno he was redeemed
ReplyDeleteThankfully!
ReplyDeleteThe less of the original cast the more the show has a chance to succeed. To survive it will need to have learned from the previous incarnation's mistakes... The less connection to the original the better!
The only connection should be HRG or some connection to the Company or another agency.
THIS^^^^ I completely agree. Also, it gives the new cast more freedom with the way they portray their new characters, own their roles and shine.
ReplyDeleteI'm hoping that essentially rebooting the show will be a good thing after the excellent S1, and all the meh that followed I bailed halfway thru S3, but am curious/hopeful that this might be closer to what S1 was am will give it a look based on that hope
ReplyDeleteExactly.
ReplyDeleteI think the premise is solid and could lead to a good if not great show... It was the execution that was failing.
Hopefully this time around they develop the characters' powers more slowly or make the powers less powerful. Making a number of the original heroes near omnipotent forced them to reboot and retcon things. I thought that was a large part of why everything after Season 1 was so bad....
I didn't think he would, but I would have loved to read the opposite. His character is why I loved the show.
ReplyDeletei didn't think he would and as much as I like him, I think it is a good thing. Them keeping Sylar alive far beyond his expiration date was one of the main reasons why the show struggled so much creatively in later seasons. This is better for the show.
ReplyDeleteI wish they would just do one announcement about the main cast members. Instead of every so often telling us Hayden won't return, Ali won't return, Milo won't return, and now Zach. I keep getting excited about HR news, and then being disappointed. Tell us Jack Coleman is the only main cast member returning, and then start giving us some ACTUAL casting news.
ReplyDeleteso you didn't like how powerful Peter was?
ReplyDeletehey you're right, we haven't gotten any news on the actual new cast members, so far only the lead: Zachary Levi
ReplyDeleteHim doing another show has nothing to do with the fact that he doesn't wanna do this one.
ReplyDeleteThe fewer ties to the original series, the better as I haven't seen Heroes and won't have time to catch up.
ReplyDeletePeter, Claire and Sylar?
ReplyDeleteI think she´s referring to them, yes.
ReplyDeleteI´m actually disappointed. I would want him back. Same with Milo, Ali, Hayden, Noah. If they don´t want to be on the show the whole time, at least wrap up their stories.
ReplyDeleteah
ReplyDeleteNo I didn't.
ReplyDeleteYep, to me they were the main main characters, Hiro could also be added to that list.
ReplyDeleteyeah they were the most known characters and ugh please no Hiro i didn't like him ever
ReplyDeleteWhy do i think that in the end we will not see this series have the go? From what i know only one person is coming back and that is the guy that played Claire's father.
ReplyDeleteZach Levi is a good, enjoyable actor so even if the show is gawd awful and fails he can still go for more roles. Especially if he's only contracted for a first season. I would like to see Zach in more roles so I'll take any role I can see him in.
ReplyDeleteOh no! I don't want him back either, I grew tired of his "innocence" pretty soon, but he could be considered main-ish.
ReplyDeleteSylar was a great villain....for season 1 that is.
