  1. ABC Fam now has a "strong" Tuesday but a very weak Monday

    ReplyDelete
  2. Yes they are. PLL is up two tenths from last week while SAB is up one tenth.

    ReplyDelete
  3. Pretty Little Liars rose two tenths and gained roughly 300k viewers. Good for them! Although, I'm still waiting for the writing to get better and answers...

  4. Chasing Life is dying on Monday, maybe because it is against Jane the Virgin :/

    ReplyDelete
  5. Possibly, but I would think The Flash is more male skewing. Hmm, who knows. Either way good uptick this week!

    ReplyDelete
  6. Good comeback for PLL and SAB. They now have a strong Tuesday but a weak Monday. Maybe the return of The Flash hit PLL last week?

    ReplyDelete
  7. Not bad for AbcFam, I think it's up from last week.

    ReplyDelete
  8. Guess-The Flash to adjust up at least 0.1, part of me thinks it will go up 0.2. SPN to adjust down in total viewers but stay 0.8 in demo.

    ReplyDelete
  9. Samgirl here. But I love the show as a whole. When I've rewatched some episodes I just skip the parts with angels. NOT a Cas fan. I just want the brothers!

    ReplyDelete
  10. I'll be frank: I don't care anymore myself. Whenever I spy Cas or Crowley in a promo I'm sure that it'll be a mytharc heavy episode and tune in. However whenever I can tell that it's a MOTW episode I don't even bother.
Sam has lost his appeal to me during season 6, Dean is okay and Crowley/Cas only appear half the time.

I would however watch a Crowley/Cas spin-off as (to me) they have stepped up to being the most fun characters the show has to offer

Nothing against Carver, he did good with Being Human BUT I think he isn't in his element with SPN.

Personally: I'd give the show a major overhaul.

Less MOTW episodes and completely serializing the thing like TVD/TO. Use Cas/Crowley fulltime and give every main a sideobjective (Sam has hallucinations of John and Azazel that try to lead him somewhere; Deans demon attempts to take over and he battles his human side split personality style; Cas is now fullblown human hunter and attempts to build up his own hunter brigade; Crowley is cast out of hell and tries to make his way among the demons) and all of them a main objective (stopping hell from merging with earth). Every twist in the end of an episode leads us further down the arc. There'd be less closure with every episode of course but it'd work.
Also I'd add a healthy recurring cast

  11. No, the flash went up in viewers.

    ReplyDelete
  12. She was in quite a few episodes I think. SPOILER: She died in the final battle. She was one of the bodies Buffy saw after Buffy got stabbed and The First started teasing that she had lost.

  13. see I like Charlie for the most part but when she's on screen they dumb down the biys esp Sam. He becomes completely ineffectual which happens with a lot of side characters not just Charlie. Its like they give whichever guest star of the week Sam's role and leave him standing around like a useless idiot (and thats coming from a Sam fan) was there any need for Sam to be knocked out and tied up yet again in the episode? If the point wwas to highlight that Charlie could over come the bad side and save the day then so could Dean then doesnt that essentially tell us now that Sam will have no role in the rest of the season (and probably next)? and if Dean can overcome the darkness and control the MOC which they keep hinting at then why exactly does Carver need to take Sam down the supposed 'dark and monstrous road' to question his own morals? Nothing in this season even makes sense, its like they just make it up as they go along.

  14. I stayed out of that Gamer Gate sh*t alltogether. It was a complete waste of time on everybodies end. The tragic was that this Sarkeesian chick threw petrolium into the flame and made the whole situation worse. If you tickle the internet it's going to bite. Fighting sexism is important but not to a point where it reaches limiting creatives minds.

I didn't even know Felicia was involved?

She was that redhead slayer in season 7, she actually survived till the series finale

    ReplyDelete
  15. Ouch for SPN.
The only time The Flash didn't adjust up, I think.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Thank you! I've seen that episode more than a few times. It's been a long time.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Supernatural :(

    ReplyDelete
  18. Ouch Supernatural. That's painful.

    ReplyDelete
  19. She was a potential slayer. The one that broke her arm.

    ReplyDelete
  20. I don't know about Dean fans. The promo's were basically Dean vs Charlie so I would think they wanted to watch. That Sam fan vs Dean fan vs Cas fan crap makes me ill. It's why I left the SPN boards. I like SPN. The show. I don't love everything about it anymore but I watch for the show. Not which brother gets more attention. I will admit if it's Cas heavy on the angels, I just yawn.

    ReplyDelete
  21. I'm not the biggest Felicia Day fan and I'm incredibly bothered by her acting but I can barely imagine a character appearance to cause a 3 tenth drop.

As for Day....loved her on Buffy but everything she did since pretty much based itself on the "she's a lovable nerd" thing. That said: I kind of consider Dragon Age: Redemption a guilty pleasure of mine. She wasn't great or anything in it but fun...

    ReplyDelete
  22. my guess is Dean fans thought it would be all about Charlie so idnt bother tuning in when in fact the episode was heavily Dean centric. Watch they will come back next week, then disappear for episode 13 depending on how much Dean they think will be involved, then come back for the Cain episode. Cas fans wont come back till they know he'll be back which at the moment is episode 14 at the earliest. I've said it before I dont think there are enough Sam fans left to affect the ratings, though I have noticed that if an episode looks like there might be more than a few minutes of Sam, lots of Dean fans immediately go on line to say they wont bother watching.

Off course the writing has been shit. Carver's giving sappy forced bro moments and plenty of Dean fan pandering but thats about all he's giving.

    ReplyDelete
  23. I've never watched her in anything but SPN and I don't remember her on Buffy, I'm going to have to look it up to see which episode. I just like her, especially after the Gamer Gate hell she went through last year. I just think it was an episode that made it easy for the casual viewer to say "eh, I don't have to watch it tonight."

    ReplyDelete
  24. I don't think so. Jane The Virgin doesn't have enough viewers to really affect anything. Maybe The Bachelor and Celeb Apprentice are taking the 18-34 audience, especially Bachelor.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Aww, The Flash demo didn't improve despite an upward increase in # of viewers.

    ReplyDelete
  26. I watch every episode, and rewatch. Then I re-rewatch the ones I like. But I like Charlie! For me it was a good episode, no angels.

    ReplyDelete
  27. TOs ratings hurt anyway, it got served the worst slots theCW had every year now. First tuesday (wich was prior home to BatB with 0.4s) and now mondays (wich were last year also held by BatB and HoD with 0.3s).

It's like theCW is trying to kill the show by throwing it into terrible slots only to see them work out there anyway

    ReplyDelete
  28. Nope, she survived. She was even in the bus in the end slapping another girl...

    ReplyDelete
  29. Oh yeah! I was thinking of Amanda. Wow. I feel ashamed.

    ReplyDelete
  30. I havent liked Dean since season 4 but I wouldnt like Carver to treat him like he's treated Sam this season.

Cas and Crowley have long since outstayed their welcome.

    ReplyDelete
  31. So Samgirl it is :P

IMO Sam has been turned into Gambles favourite toy and been depersonalized ever since

    ReplyDelete
  32. Agreed. It was one big mess. Yes, she received death threats, hate mail, hate tweets. Everything. It was just a stupid waste of time and energy. I honestly think she was being stalked.

    ReplyDelete
  33. what side was she even on? I can't imagine her being on the "censor everything that closely redembles a boob" side.
The thing about Gamer Gate is...there is no games journalism. Journalism comes from outside reporters and no games "news" site is out of the industry, they're built ON the industry to promote games.

However, the entire "gamers are sexist" and "[insert female character] is oversexualized" commentary made me go insane despite trying NOT to hear anything about it (it still reached me). It appeared like some people just jumped the "I'm offended" train to cash in on it

She's been in the industry for a while and has a cult following from what I heard, so it's hard to imagine that any side of the spectrum turned on her (wich camp was it?)

    ReplyDelete
  34. DID that just say a .07 for SPN holy crap now that's funny WOW!

    ReplyDelete
  35. you speak the truth ParadiseHeat that's why I watched AC on ABC I am just getting tired of it.

    ReplyDelete
  36. lol, if only the other parts of the gaming community argued like that :P

    ReplyDelete
  37. Glad this Gamergate thing is over now, hearing about it really made me turn my back on both the community and some brands. I'm not an avid gamer but I usually touch the franchises I care for (Assassin's Creed being one of the more popular ones) but reading from gaming outlets that "Gamers are sexist" and "Gamers are dead" just made me shake my head in confusion.

The second I watched a related Sarkeesian video and her panel of "Just believe Gamergirls without questioning it" (that was her wording, not mine "Just believe it"...I mean..how f***ed up is that reasoning?) I knew it was pretty much a vehicle someone used to get popular

    ReplyDelete
  38. Yes WOW a .07 mind-blowing.

    ReplyDelete
  39. wow, I loved reading through this. She presented my viewpoint perfectly: there're people trying to disrupt something and gain attention+credibility in both camps.
I just gained a little more respect for her and I'm glad that she wanted to stay out of it because frankly: all the smart individuals did. It was a mess of megalomaniacs trying to shove their view down someones elses throat and this kind of behaviour can't be encouraged.

All these people presented overly-dramaticized views (the one side claimed oversexualization of female characters was the issue the other side claimed that this was a supposed coverup) and rallied others against others.

it's odd, 20 years ago you got beat up for being a nerd, 10 years ago our generation started to establish games as something for everyone to enjoy and these days it's publicly accepted. And what do we do now? Battle each other of course -,-

  40. TVD; was getting 0.7 when it got renewed by the CW so I am sure they consider SPN getting 0.7 a win; not surprise by the Flash drop in key demos; the show writers/producers seem to be more focus on action and their guest stars; writing stories around them instead of their existing cast...which has the Flash starting to feel a lot like Season 2 Glee and not in a good way.

    ReplyDelete
  41. I really don't know. It was such a confusing mess of attacks/insults/threats. She wrote a blog on it, after one incident. I don't know enough about the camps to know who is who. I'll find her blog though. I agree with you on that "I'm offended" train. It's crazy how social media can spin things.

  42. SN is ok, not great but ok. More than half of season 7 was at the .7 rating level in fact it never rose above .8 that season and it's still going strong.

    ReplyDelete
  43. because I never seen it so low and my god its a New ep not a repeat Ok so it was funny too me what happen can you tell me why the Rating are SOOO LOW! and why are they Blaming Charlie can someone tell me that?

    ReplyDelete
  44. yes and last season they was 1.1 and great but now its like going down slowly.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Still great numbers for The Flash.I hope SPN will go back to it's usual numbers next week!

    ReplyDelete
  46. Well it has really declined quality wise.

    ReplyDelete
  47. 0.2 drop, last week only got a 0.9 which was down from a 1.0 from the previous episode. Its not the first time this season that the ratings have fallen episode on episode but they do eventually go back up when certain fans perceive an episdoe to be all about a certain character.

    ReplyDelete
  48. even Gamble did a shit kob of writing Sam in season 6 and 7, Dean fans are still hung up on 2 things Bobby calling Souless Sam a better hunter and that shirtless excersize scene and calling the Gamble years somekind of Gamble Samgilr fantasy. Never mind that there were far more Dean centric episodes in the Gamble era, Dean interacted with more characters, Dean got all the kills (after Sam's sul was restored) and was made to like the smarter one. Dean had at least 2 shirtless scenes himself and had every character telling him that he was thir favourite. Me thinks Gambles' Sam fantasy era is greatly exaggerated by Dean fans.

  49. TO is doing really well in one of the hardest slots on TV (I'd add Thursday 8 and 9 to the list). Tuesday is now the least competative day of the week other than Friday but that at least has the excuse that its Friday. Tuesday 9pm has been so weak this season which is why I think iZombie might do really well in the slot. SPN might suffer against the increasingly competative Wednesday 9pm slot.

    ReplyDelete
  50. definatly down this season, I think it will end the season down about 20% on last season.

    ReplyDelete
  51. season 7 aired on a Friday

    ReplyDelete
  52. because they'd rather blame Charlie than face the truth that the writing is rubbish and Dean and Cas fans wont tune in unless they think the entire episode is going to be about Dean and Cas. Some Sam fans what little was left have likely stopped watching having gone through episode after episode where Sam has has no storyline and there doesnt appear to be one on the horizon for the rest of the season.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Good points, I haven't rewatched this ep yet. Will think about your comment when I rewatch. I believe you are right though.
And why was the demon!Dean storyline so short?
