CBS has handed three more pilot orders to drama Limitless, a sequel to the 2011 Relativity feature starring Bradley Cooper, and comedies from comedy veterans Dan O’Shannon and Tad Quill. All 3 come from sister studio CBS TV Studios.
Written/executive produced by Craig Sweeny and executive produced by Cooper and Alex Kurtzman & Roberto Orci, Limitless follows Brian Sinclair, the character played in the film by Cooper, as he discovers the power of the mysterious drug NZT, and is coerced into using his newfound drug enhanced abilities to solve weekly cases for the FBI. The feature’s helmer, Neil Burger, will direct the pilot. He also is executive producing
alongside Ryan Kavanaugh, Tucker Tooley, and Tom Forman through Relativity Television, K/O’s Heather Kadin as well as Todd Phillips, Cooper’s producing partner at Yet To Be Named Company, for CBS TV Studios, studio-based K/O and Relativity TV.
Written by former Modern Family executive producer O’Shannon and Peter Warren (Happyland), the untitled project (format TBD) revolves around a group of friends and family at three different times in their lives. O’Shannon executive produces alongside Clark Peterson & Dennis Erdman, Eric Tannenbaum & Kim Tannenbaum for CBS Studios and studio-based Tannenbaum Co. Warren serves as supervising producer. This is Peterson and Erdman’s second pilot this season, they also have CBS comedy Taxi-22.
Quill’s Angel from Hell (format TBD), centers on an unlikely pair. When Amy enters Allison’s life and claims to be her guardian angel, they form an unlikely friendship and Allison can’t be sure if Amy is an angel or just nuts. This marks the second pilot at CBS for Quill who also has Taxi-22, rolled from last year, which just cast John Leguizamo as the lead.

Nothing too interesting here compared to Supergirl and Super Clyde...
ReplyDeleteLimitless could be good. That and Minority Report are the only pilots I'm even slightly interested in. Most sound extremely boring so far, imo anyway.
ReplyDeleteYawn
ReplyDeleteI love how Angel From Hell says "format undetermined"... I think that is a plot that could only work as a single camera.
ReplyDeleteRatings from hell all but guaranteed.
ReplyDeleteI'll keep my eye on Limitless because of Kurtzman and Orci.
ReplyDeleteLimitless could nicely work with Scorpion.
ReplyDeleteThe comedies sound okay.
Limitless tv series is a bad idea. Good way to ruin what was a surprisingly enjoyable movie. No reason to turn it into a crime procedural.
