This show is going to be nuts. I also have a feeling that it will be one of those programs that are either excellent or completely awful with no in-between. I'm hoping for the former and not the latter.
Last time MacFarlane produced a live action comedy we got FOX's "Dads." So, as you can imagine, I'm understandably nervous about the outcome of this. I'm hoping for the best though.
I don't know if that's a necessarily a good thing. His comedy is too broad in itself and I find that when he does go overboard, isn't always a good thing.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.

ReplyDeleteTotally agree. I guess we'll get a better understanding once we some real promos.

ReplyDeleteMacFarlane has also given us A Million Ways To Die In The West and Ted.
ReplyDeleteThis project can really go either way.
He'll have more freedom on cable on though, he should be able to make that work to his advantage.
ReplyDeleteThat was what I expressed in my first post. Also, feature films and television are apples and oranges.
ReplyDeleteI only mentioned the movies because I really enjoyed Ted.
ReplyDeleteSince this project is on Starz, MacFarlane will have a lot of freedom to make this sufficiently raunchy lol.
I feel Patrick Stewart can make a lot of difference in making whatever the material is work.
ReplyDeleteI cannot argue that. I doubt he'd do this if he didn't think he could have fun with it so that's something that bodes well for this show.
