USA Network’s comedy series Benched will not be coming back for a second season. The courtroom comedy, starring Eliza Coupe and Jay Harrington, had a quiet run, which concluded on Dec. 30, averaging 800,000 viewers and 300,000 adults 18-49 in Live+same day.

What. Why?
ReplyDeleteReally I love this show I don't get why not give a show second season so it could find it's audience
ReplyDeleteI really need to get out of the habit of reading "cancelled" before reading the name of the show being cancelled. There's like that split second of panic every single time that it's a show I actually watch.
ReplyDeleteDouble/triple episode born off? Yeah it was a sign.
ReplyDeleteDoes USA have any shows left?
ReplyDeleteThis was such a great show. What the heck!!!
ReplyDeleteNow, let's hope Eliza Coupe gets a recurring guest star spot on New Girl as Coach's girlfriend.
That would be the best thing, I hope that happens. Happy Endings reunion :)
ReplyDeleteAnother lunch for the Cancellation Bear. He is dining mighty fine recently.
ReplyDeleteWow, the state of comedy on television is really sad. Over the past 12 months I've lost Benched, Suburgatory, Trophy Wife, The Crazy Ones, and HIMYM. Parks and Rec, Cougar Town, and Community are all ending, and I've dropped Modern Family and the Big Bang Theory after getting fatigued. Mom and the Mindy Project have to do all the heavy lifting now :(
ReplyDeleteGood taste in comedy there! I absolutely loved Trophy Wife and was so sad for its cancellation. I'm hoping The Mindy Project and Mom are able to last for awhile. TMP has at least one more season in it, I'd say. I'll take what I can get. :)
ReplyDeleteNOOO!! I loved it D':
ReplyDeleteI really thought it would get a second season ;/
WHY??? dag I like Bench! I like Bad Judge & that's cancelled too
ReplyDeletewell that's disappointing as I watched the first few eps and really liked it and felt it had more promise for me compared to Marry Me (another fellow Happy Endings alum's new show). I was going to try to catch up on it, but I guess there's no point and now the ole Cancellation Bear has another treat to feast on. I just hope that Eliza C will land somewhere soon, as she was great.
ReplyDeleteSad news but hardly surprising.
ReplyDeleteI expected it to be cancelled, but I did enjoy it.
ReplyDeleteAt times when at its best it was very funny. I thought it had a lot of unreached potential
Watch Sirens! It's so great. The downside is it's also on USA Network, but it's a lot of fun.
ReplyDeleteI knew this would happened I'm gutted, it was my favourite Fall comedy.
ReplyDeleteThis is one of the very few comedies that I love made actually laugh out loud! Eliza Coupe is made for comedy. I need her in something again!
ReplyDeleteAt least Playing House survived. But I'm still a little disappointed.
ReplyDeleteI'm just glad Playing House made it.
ReplyDeleteBoo:( this is the only new comedy I actually enjoyed this year...will miss it a lot!
ReplyDeleteCripes! I thought it was doing fine to warrent a 2nd season
ReplyDeleteSuch a shame. Title got a little too literal.
ReplyDeleteBummer...
