Banshee - Snakes and Whatnot - Advance Preview + Dialogue Teasers

We didn’t get to see a great deal of Proctor or his family business in the première, but that’s all set to change this week. Their encounters throughout the episode explore how the three members of their group exert their dominance over others. One of them takes things to heart too easily which causes the first blood to be spilled in the episode. The other two take decisive action when someone close to them bleeds - however one is left feeling helpless despite taking charge, while the other is victorious.

Carrie has been recruited to help with the heist, which means that it’s probably best to end it with a certain Colonel before things get too complicated. As you may have guessed during Hood’s encounter at Camp Genoa, Stowe is usually the one in control of a situation. Therefore it’s not hard to imagine that someone is going to feel the full force of his anger at that decision.

This being Banshee it was obvious from the start that anyone official was going to be corrupt to some degree - scrutinising the lives of the law-abiding and virtuous isn’t half as fascinating after all. Langley Kirkwood’s character is one that I’m hoping sticks around for more than just the one season. He’s a complex and dangerous man who could make an ideal Rabbit replacement while Proctor’s threat continues to chip away in the background.

Hood is kept busy juggling the groundwork for the heist, dealing with a defiant daughter, Chayton’s thugs running amok and visiting the Kinaho Reservation. Job quite rightly tells him that “this fake sheriff bullshit is getting in the way of your real job” when he gets called away whilst casing out some old tunnels under Camp Genoa.

Lucas also meets two new faces that will be important later on in the season, both of whom are cops. Firstly there is Kurt (Tom Pelphrey), who introduces himself as a reformed skinhead looking to transfer to the Cadi since he has moved back to his home town. Then there’s Deputy Aimee King (Meaghan Rath) from the KRPD, who intervenes when Hood and Billy Raven get involved in a tussle at one of the bars on the Reservation while looking for Chayton’s camp. Being the shrewd man he is, he sums both of them up reasonably quickly. As for how right he is about them, I guess we’ll find out as their story progresses.

  1. Nice preview Sandi. I didn't think this was quite as good an episode as the premiere, but a good one nonetheless.

  2. Yeah, I think it's slightly slower paced than the opener for sure. Can't have all of them at break neck speed though I guess. It's still a very important one character wise I'd say.

  4. No, you can't, but that's not a bad thing often. And any episode with more Kai is one I like ;)

  10. Agreed, they make for an interesting 'family' of sorts. The last episode was quite brief in setting their stories up for this one I think.

Five correct, well done! I'll update in a few minutes :)

Yep, Alison is back this episode. She's in a couple of scenes iirc, both of which are quite pivotal in regards to the future of two other characters in the show.
