I did. Especially episode 10. I am not a huge fan of episode 11. If even after Oliver dying Diggle is sidelined then I better have Oliver back. Also the whole mayor giving up a district to thugs (army anyone) and Quentin being cruelly deceived has annoyed me and make me dislike Team Arrow a bit. I liked Laurel and Roy as crime fighters more than I believed I will. But I am ready to have Oliver back and bring some order to the chaos. He ties this world together and I missed him as Arrow.
I think it should have been Diggle taking point. He has the experience and wisdom to do so. Make no mistake I liked seeing BC and Arsenal on the field. It was well done. Loved every fight scene.
But when you have some one as experienced as Diggle on the team for him to sit in the foundry and the less experienced fighters to go on field makes no sense. They could have done it differently but they once again proved not having comic book legacy is a curse on this show. At least create a scenario where Diggle has to go fight someone else during this time. Why create original characters if you are going to sideline them in favor of comic book characters all the time.
Since Oliver is in his full gear, do you think he went to his 'lair' to get it first or does he have a spare just sitting around? cause it's evident that Roy doesn't expect to see him, meaning him returning at that moment is a surprise.
Well at least they argued that the psychological warfare of Black Canary would be effective. Black Diver's awesome and all and it would've been cool but personally I'm cool with it. Diggle got to lead. Plus he's got a kid (that he knows of and needs to be there for him).
I just want Oliver to say one specific line: "Danny Brickwell. You have failed this city!" (But I'm cool if Roy does it. He's earned it. Plus he is Oliver's protege, partner, adopted brother basically and apart from Connor likely successor as protector of Starling City).
I liked that they talked about the symbolism of costume and its effectiveness. That was great. I loved how Felicity and Laurel's talk and the realization they want to save the city for people who are alive. Actually I don't actually mind the second rescue mission where Digg stayed with the helicopter. It's a BC episode and she needed to shine. Fair enough. What I could not accept was Diggle sitting out the first rescue mission and Laurel along with Roy going to the field. That was really stupid in every way. He had a kid last episode too. That didn't stop him from going after Brick. It just irks me... ugh
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
He is baaaaack! Great, even though I enjoyed the time apart from him, a couple more Oliver-less eps would be quite great as well.
ReplyDeleteThis should be quite interesting.
AWWW ROY "You failed this city!" AND THAT is an EPIC return. I am so freaking excited for this episode.

So looking forward Oliver recognizing Laurel behind Canary's mask.

ReplyDeleteSeems like a few more episodes would have served everyone's characters a lot better. Well, except Oliver probably.

ReplyDeleteWould've been cool. But I feel like it really could slow the story down and hurt Oliver.
ReplyDeleteLair. Though he should keep spares.
ReplyDeleteYep but there is always next year. ;-)
ReplyDeleteNext season Oliver could go on a 3-4 episode mission and let the girls rock the town. ^_^
