She is grieving so it's understandable. They just lost their friend and partner and the man she loves. Besides as Dig said this was everything that Oliver had so in the beginning it will be hard for them to continue without him.
So, anybody happen to read the synopsis for episode 12 yet? Because for me, it's definitely making me want to just leave this show for what it is, because I'm kind of done at this point...
1. Seriously, Thea/Laurel screen time has been pushed back? So what? We can have even MORE fucking Felicity with Laurel? Because OH, that makes sense, it's not like Thea's story should be way more important at this stage than our resident whiner Felicity. Or that the Thea/Laurel mentorship SHOULD have made them more friends and important to have scenes together, than freaking Felicity, but just like Malcolm, Felicity is obviously someone they can't get enough from when it comes to the writers and pdocuers, so I'm REALLY pissed about that. 2. I keep repeating this, even though it doesn't seem to have any point at all and I seem to be wrong. But Malcolm should still be Oliver's nemesis, not his off-on-again buddy that he plays darts with in the weekend and teams up with every freaking week. Yet, Slade, who should be the anti-hero, is more of his nemesisç so why the hell are we keeping those two turned around, just because the producers and writers can't get over their love crush for John Barrowman? Has anyone else noticed that almost every freaking image from the new episodes, involve Malcolm standing there, feeling all awesome... But sure, let them trust him again, work with him again, is really going to make it easier for Thea to finally realize to not trust him. Seriously, Malcolm is never going to fail, is he? You guys are just going to keep him like this for the entire show's run, just always getting what he wants, playing everyone. 3. I don't freaking care about the flashbacks of ep 12 that are going to show poor poor Malcolm's sob story of how he thinks he got like this, and how they think they're going to make him even more of a good guy apparently, by making us feel sad for him. We're the audience, we're not Thea, you don't have to brainwash us with total BS. 4. It's total ridiculousness this, and highly likely the end of the show after season 4 if you ask me, because they've been talking since the hiatus started how this was going to be so awesome for the rest of the cast, that it wasn't just going to be Black Canary, well, you're right, it isn't. It's just going to be all Laurel, all Felicity and all Malcolm, that's so much better!
I did actually still have faith, to a certain point, but it's getting plenty obvious how I was right about Malcolm just becoming the focus of this show together with Miss Whiner-Felicity and Laurel that seems to be badass after a handful of training sessions. But Thea? Yeah, who cares right? I still don't get why they put her in this show in the first place if all they were going to do is put her in the background, and make her some unnecessary villain. And seriously, I still don't believe that if she really does go evil eventually, or just dies as she is about to join Team Arrow, that Oliver would actually survive. But hey! He'll probably have Malcolm, Felicity and Laurel there to support him right?
Malcolm just seems a little gleeful when he says Oliver is dead. I'm just ready for the new episodes and I'm ready to see who gets Oliver off of that mountain. There is something sexy about that scene. Wrong, I know but it is.
Why can't we? Because she has a crush on Ollie? Because Roy and Diggle seem to be definitely thinking straight about continuing what Ollie started, unless Felicity now has just the wrong reasons in this crusade and only doing it because she wants Ollie in her bed.
I think it's called grieving... She will be back on the Team by episode 3x12, as mentioned in the sinopsis. It may be just the shock of Oliver being dead and the writers wanting to do more drama and so she can help Ray 24/7 xD
Well, the last part is definitely it. This way, it just seems odd that she wants to shut everything down even when there's two guys named John and Roy that wants to continue the crusade.
Yeah, it will be more of a one episode story... Maybe, by doing this, she can have less screentime, leaving more for Laurel to develop. For a story standpoint that would be a good call. Felicity tripled Laurel's screentime on Season 3A. She will be back by the end of 3x10 or at the middle of 3x11. It's just a matter of giving something to do to the character each episode.
Well, I sorta get that. It's like Nolan pushing Alfred away so it'll make sense for Bruce to be on his own and not worrying about Alfred being in Gotham anymore, lol.
But, just the way she seems to be portrayed in this "trilogy" is worrying. SHE'S the one that says the crusade can't continue and then the lights go out in the "Arrowcave" as if she's possibly the one that does it.
The girl just lost the man she loves... give her a break, honestly. I believe she would like to at her house eating ice cream and crying or at work doing something with someone who knows nothing about Oliver than be in the Lair with Digg, Roy and Laurel, who will be talking about continuing his legacy 'cause he's dead, how he died, how are they gonna tell Thea that her brother died, etc...
I feel her, tbh... That would be a total crappy place to be. I would preffer using my mind to help some weirdo build a suit, that way i could put my head somewhere else.
If you read my second comment you would know why we can't blame her. So either you read it and chose to ignore it and in that case what? I'm supposed to get offended by your comment and write something snarky defending her then we argue for 100 comments? (which I will not do) Or you didn't read it and in that case I refer you to my comment below and you will understand my pov.
Give her a break? I'm sorry, but I don't see it as a "give her a break" type of deal. I mean first, Diggle and Roy wants to continue the crusade, and it's something Felicity should be doing as well. And second, I wouldn't be surprised if she quickly starts to help out Ray while he's working on his A.T.O.M. suit.
It doesn't matter what her feelings are towards Ollie at this point and the focus should be to continue what Ollie has started. Even up until "Uprising" the synopsis states Diggle and Roy are still trying to convince her to come back. That doesn't say much about her focus on this entire cause/crusade.
Well, agree to disagree on that. I see nothing wrong about that. Think of it like when Moira died and Oliver didn't go to the funeral: he wanted to be alone, with his head in other things.
Considering Felicity has a LOT of abandonment issues, she will try to get as far away from everything that remains her of Oliver(in her head, he abandoned her again... he again choose the Arrow over her like in 3x01 and 3x02). I don't get why she isn't alloud to grieve. When she says that, she just found out he is dead... Who knows what happens after?
And in the 3x12 synopsis it's said they're trying to convince her about SEEKING MALCOLM'S HELP. She is a part of the team again by then, and they're all waiting for Diggle's choice since he is now the leader, The Arrow.
Tbh, I think it's just a plot device to a) give Laurel some alone interaction with Digg and Roy(She had none in the whole series) and b) show more Ray Palmer working in The Atom suit.
If you have Felicity in the lair there are 4 characters. By taking her out you keep 3, wich is a more easy number to manage(especially considering one needs to build a relationship from the ground with them). Especially Felicity, who with her one-liners tend to take quite the atention.
I think is a good move to give Laurel some space in the arrow cave. People will bitch about it, but it's the best thing in the end if you want your story be as cohesive as you can.
Moira is Ollie's mother. Who was killed by someone Ollie didn't kill years ago. That's not really a good example.
"She is a part of the team again by then"
I don't think she is, especially when they're saying it's Diggle and Roy trying to find out her decision on the matter.
I agree that it gives Laurel more screentime, but I also don't like how Felicity may be written in this "trilogy" as someone that doesn't want to continue the crusade as much as Diggle or Roy. And to say Felicity deserves to grieve more than Diggle or Roy is silly, imo.
"Not to mention that I'm still hearing crap about Malcolm also being the one that brings Oliver back to life, well, let me be clear, if that is also the case, I'm just done..."
Since he WILL be the one who brings Oliver back (see synopsis of 3.15 "Nanda Parbat")...
Then I guess we'll see how super fake that goes, and then I'll be done. Then everyone else can have fun with S4 and Oliver and Malcolm being the best of butt-buddies.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
For once Canadian promo has nothing new.
ReplyDeleteDent's line....lol.
ReplyDeleteCanada you failed this promo !
ReplyDeleteFelicity the city still needs saving you can't give up it's not what Oliver would want
ReplyDeleteYou can't blame her for not thinking straight :(
ReplyDeletethat's disappointing! I expected a better promo.
ReplyDeleteyeah i guess and NOT from a shipper's perspective as his teammate but it's still not like her is it?
ReplyDeletewhere?
ReplyDeleteNothing new? never mind! only 5 days remain from this killing hiatus.
ReplyDeleteShe is grieving so it's understandable. They just lost their friend and partner and the man she loves. Besides as Dig said this was everything that Oliver had so in the beginning it will be hard for them to continue without him.
ReplyDeleteyeah can't blame them
ReplyDeletelet's wait for the new zealand promo! they always deliver!
ReplyDeleteI was thinking the same thing. I hope we get one.
ReplyDeleteOh! I forget that this is like The Dark Knight quote in this promo: "The night is darkest before the dawn."
ReplyDeleteSo i have to add this to it: " I promise you, the dawn is coming."
I understand you are hurt, but the city comes first and it needs protecting. So yes there IS a still this without Oliver.
ReplyDeleteThat scene just really annoyed me.

ReplyDeleteThe promo itself.

What does Felicity say? I think I hear "without him, it's done" but I definitely cant understand her first sentence.
ReplyDelete"without him there is no THIS"
ReplyDelete"Oliver Queen is dead"? that one
ReplyDeletelet's hope
ReplyDeleteyep very wrong LOL but yeah why wouldn't he be? the Superman to his Luthor is "dead" and he's free to basically rule Starling
ReplyDeleteNo, lol....."The night is darkest before the dawn".
