what about Allison Argent from Teen Wolf?
ReplyDeleteLeslie Shay and Aiden Mathis.
ReplyDeleteIs this worst as in "most devastating and heartbreaking" or worst as in "most poorly written and executed?" Because those are two different things.
ReplyDeleteThat's exactly what I was about to ask.
ReplyDeleteIf worst means most devastating I'll go with Sara from Arrow. If worst means most pointless/poorly executed I'll go with Tara from true blood. She was a main character for the entire show and she died off screen and was barely mentioned by the core characters ever again.
ReplyDeleteSo many actually !
ReplyDelete1. Shay - it changed the show so much for me, she was always my favorite
2. Beth - she was annoying in S2+S3, but she became my 2nd favorite and she had great development
3. Sara - she was best female character on Arrow
4. Aiden - the best male character in Revenge
Confused as to meaning of "worst." Saddest for me was Sara Lance - I didn't want her to go, and I thought her getting spared when I was sure she would die in the season two finale meant we'd get her for a while longer. Apparently "a while" was part of one episode. I respect that her death has been driving the plot so far this season, but I really wish they could have held off until midseason at least; I really wanted more time with her as the Canary, because she was awesome. For worst as in bad idea and badly executed, the Mother from HIMYM. She shouldn't have died, and she definitely shouldn't have died suddenly, without explanation, off-screen, only to be replaced by Ted with Robin less than a minute later. Uncool.
ReplyDeleteMy question exactly !
ReplyDeleteSara Lance of Arrow, Katherine Pierce of TVD, Beth Greene of TWD, and Moira Queen of Arrow.
ReplyDeleteArrow-Sarah,Chicago Fire-Leslie,Teen Wolf-Allison,Got-All the trio(joffery,tywin & oberyn).
ReplyDeleteFin Collins for The 100 was the best executed death by far, as well as the saddest.
ReplyDeleteLeeky from Orphan Black was a surprise, but probably the right thing to do, looking back.
Zoe Barnes' death in House of Cards was pretty sudden, but the way it was carried out was masterful.
That leaves James Novak, from Scandal, who's death was, and still is, needless, especially given the actor won an Emmy for his work, and the storyline from Cyrus' point of view has been pretty irritating since.
I voted for Neal Cassidy on OUaT cos it's the only show I follow, and I take it to mean "worst" as in "pretty bad". His death was atrocious, incredibly overwritten - he was dying and yet wouldn't shut up - and poorly acted. In fact, because of MRJ's bad acting, I feel as though the two better actors with him, JenMo and Carlyle, started acting badly as well. If you play with a lesser opposite your game suffers.
ReplyDeleteAs everyone I'm asking myself worst as poorly executed or as heartbreaking!?
ReplyDeletePoorly executed: Tara, Neal and Katherine
Heartbreaking: Moira Queen!
I suffered over Oberyn as well.
Finn (The 100) is not in the List?
ReplyDeleteGarnett on Z Nation, Finn on The 100, Beth on Walking Dead, Bill Compton, Alcide, and Tara on True Blood. Sara Lance on Arrow. Ma Petite on American Horror Story.
ReplyDeleteIf you mean worst as in 'wtf was that?' then I have to pick Beth Greene.
ReplyDeleteIf you mean worst as 'why, oh why did they kill him/her' then Joffrey Baratheon.
Oberyn, Daniel and Moira all were heartbreaking, but the worst is The Mother because Ted really deserved someone as wonderful as she was and it was terrible to see her dying like that, off screen, no funeral, as a whole horriblily executed
ReplyDeleteWill Gardner and Beth Greene from the list, but also Bob on TWD (not the cop, the other Bob), and Vern on Fargo. Vern was especially sad because his wife was pregnant and they loved each other so much.
ReplyDeleteThe mother anytime they made us fall completely in love with her for 9years and took it away in 10 seconds the biggest 'F' you of all though I suspected her death since the beginning
ReplyDeletemost devastating and heartbreaking:
ReplyDeleteHIMYM
The 100 all of them
Arrow: Moira was the most Heartbreaking for me on Arrow
Chicago Fire: Shay
most poorly written and executed:
True Blood: Alcide Hvereaux
Revenge: Aiden Mathis
AoS: Triplett
they all deserved more than the off hand manner it was done.
oh have to add another one:
ReplyDeleteBitten: Antonio and Peter
Worst was Leslie Shay because it happened due to lazy writing. I stopped watching after teh first episode.
ReplyDeleteKatherine Pierce from TVD
ReplyDeleteIf you mean most gruesome death I say Tara from Sons of Anarchy Tywinn Lannister from Game of Thrones death you didn't see coming Will Gardner from The Good Wife Lance Sweets from Bones Mona Vanderwaal from Pretty Little Liars Angelo Sorrento from Switched At Birth most sad Barry Frost from Rizzoli & Isles Beth Greene The Walking Dead Neal Cassidy from OUAT Leslie Shay from Chicago Fire other Allison Argent from Teen Wolf I mean all these death on the poll are too sad and shocking
ReplyDeleteWhether it's worst as in "I hate that they killed this character off" or "What a weak, crappy way to kill off someone, they deserved better", I go with Sara Lance.
ReplyDeleteMoira Queen - Arrow, Lance Sweets - Bones, Katherine Pierce - The Vampire Diaries and Agent Triplett - Agents of SHIELD.
ReplyDeleteWill (The Good Wife) and Tara (Sons Of Anarchy).
ReplyDeleteVoted, Harrison on Scandal also James from Scandal, and Leslie Shay from Chicago Pd, I know it's tv but I still miss her!!!
ReplyDeleteForever bitter about Baelfire and Beth Greene!!!!!! x(
ReplyDeleteLeslie Shay without a doubt. I have never been so depressed and cried so hard over a fictional character. Chicago Fire isn't the same without her. Every time I watch it I feel like something is missing. I still don't see why they had to kill her off.
ReplyDeleteLance Sweets, Tracy (TM), Will Gardner, Neal. Some were really sad, some were unexpected and some but all were shocking.
ReplyDeleteMona,Neal,Barry,Angelo
ReplyDeleteSweets, Moira, and Sara
ReplyDeleteMona Vanderwaal, Leslie Shay, & Angelo Sorrento because all of their deaths were unnecessary however Angelo's death was probably the least bad for me out of the 3 because SAB got a lot better again.
ReplyDeleteThe best death was Aiden Mathis.
Finn the 100
ReplyDelete1) Katherine Pierce (TVD) - have you watched the show since her death? No surprise if you don't.
ReplyDelete2) Beverly Katz (Hannibal) - her relationship with Will was one of the best parts of season 2.
3) Alcide Herveaux - (True Blood) - Alcide deserved a better death than the one he got.
4) Linda Esquivel (UTD) - after her death I stop watching.............I just didn't care anymore.
Nobody 4 NOW!!!
Exactly what I think.
ReplyDeleteSara Lance. :(
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas or whatever you celebrate everyone!
ReplyDeleteSara (Arrow) shocked me the most, followed by Oberyn Martell (Game of Thrones). I haven't read the books yet, so it came as a complete surprise. I expected Audrey (24) to die, but felt bad for Jack. Shay (Chicago Fire) hit me hard as well. The only death on Hannibal that bothered me was Abigail.
I don't believe that Captain Irving (Sleepy Hollow) is gone for good. Nor do i believe that Agent Triplett (Agents of SHIELD) is gone either. Moira (Arrow), Shae, Ygritte, and Tywin (Game of Thrones) all had it coming. So i'm not sad about it. How Dr. Leekey (Orphan Black) died, took me by surprise. But it was pretty funny. I wasn't really attached to Fara (Homeland), so it didn't bother me much.
Beth (The Walking Dead) throwing her life away, the way she did was very stupid. Bad decision by the writers to kill Neal (Once Upon A Time). One of the many things that led to me dropping the series. The way Bill (True Blood) went was also very stupid. But considering how bad the show got, it's to be expected. They are the shows on the list i watch(ed).
Great list (and very thorough)!
ReplyDeleteIt was hard to pick just four. For me, the saddest deaths were Sara (Arrow), Moira (Arrow), Will Gardner (The Good Wife), Daniel and Aiden (Revenge), Leslie Shay (Chicago Fire) Harrison (Scandal) and Ygritte and Oberyn (GOT). There really were way too many deaths this year.
Why did it not occur to me that if I came to vote on a poll titled "Who was the worst death of this year?", I would get spoiled to next Christmas?
ReplyDeleteI hated Katherine's death from TVD, loved her to death, and Mona's death, used to love her too :(
ReplyDeleteSweets, Moira, Sara and Neal.
ReplyDeleteThis question has too many interpretations:
ReplyDeleteUnexpected/Expected but didn't want to see it happen:
Moira Queen - Arrow
Sara Lance- Arrow
Unexpected but so well done:
Will Gardner - The Good Wife
Alison Argent - Teen Wolf
Well executed and sad - Finn, The 100
Long Over due and I cheered:
Gemma Morrow and Juice, Sons of Anarchy
Sad it had to end this way:
Jax Teller and Tara Knowles, Sons of Anarchy
Senseless throw away of a character:
Sleepy Hollow- Frank Irving
Chicago Fire- Shay
The only one to make my cry:
Jax Teller
Oberyn & Joffrey, GoT - going to miss both of the actors and characters terribly, although the latter deserved the torturous death he got, to be fair!
ReplyDeleteAmy, In the Flesh - Heartbreaking after all she had gone through this season and after finding Philip.
Adele, The Musketeers - She chose Aramis over the Cardinal and paid for it with her life, and he never even knew that she died crying out her name.
i assumed they meant the saddest, so on the list i selected Beth Greene(TWD), Captain Irving(SH) and Beverly Katz(Hannibal) all mostly for the same reason of i loved their characters and it tore me up that i wouldn't be seeing them anymore:(
ReplyDeletei also selected other because for me the only one that got me leaking tears, and this shocks nobody more than me, was Anthony (Scarface) from Person of Interest. The emotion portrayed by him and Elias in that scene was second to none. i didn't even realize i was crying until the end. I really wish we'd gotten more than the few glimpses of him we had, but man did his death stomp on every heart muscle i had...
Most devastating wise Neal (OUAT) and Triplett (AOS) from the list.
ReplyDeleteNot going to count non-permanent deaths so that's about it. This year my shows haven't been as kill hungry as normal. Maybe they're running out of characters to kill without harming the shows. ha
Ingrid (Snow Queen) and eariler, a powerless Zelena ( the Wicked Witch) from Once Upon a Time.
ReplyDeleteBeth's death was out of no where. It was just so shocking
ReplyDeleteFins death was done very well. But it wasn't to sad to me. Wasn't to on board with his character after seeing him kill all those villagers
ReplyDeleteAiden Mathis, trip, Daniel Grayson and Sara lance
ReplyDeleteI agree Beth's death was very stupid. As for Triplett, he is dead forever. He turned to stone and then crumbled up into multiple pieces.
ReplyDeleteWill Gardner, Beth Greene, Oberyn Martell, Tara(SOA), and Audrey Raines, this year was the worst for some of my favorite characters.
ReplyDeleteSaddest was Moira - not for her actually dying but for its effect on Oliver.
ReplyDeleteMost pointless/worst executed/"oh ffs really" was Beth - who in the hell tries to stab a crazy cop WITH A GUN with a pair of scissors in the SHOULDER - when she didn't even need to!
Worst death in terms of future story development was Sara. Killing off a perfectly good Canary to replace her with a character that has been poorly developed and to fasttrack Laurel taking over is something I cannot help but be angry at.
Maybe? Or maybe he gained some power, that made it appear he died.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely Leslie Shay. Since her death I haven't even bothered trying to watch Chicago Fire. Is it still good? If it is then I might go back to watching it.
ReplyDeleteDoctor Leekley from Orphan Black, however, had one of the most funniest deaths in history. Not that Im saying that dying is funny but the fact and the way that SPOILER Donnie killed him was hilarious.
Trip from A.O.S was super sad. Especially since he would have been fine if he hadn't tried to kick the crystal.
Worst deaths as in deaths that left me the most depressed:
ReplyDelete- Oberyn Martell (Game of Thrones): It wasn't even overly emotional and it's not like we knew the character that well but I truly adored the characters so it was really sad to see him go, even amidst what was a sensational scene
- Moira Queen (Arrow): Depressing and sad all the way, both in the moment itself and in the moments that followed it with Oliver having to deal with it
- Sarah Lance (Arrow): One of my favorite characters on TV, killed just like that...
- Lance Sweets (Bones): Came out of nowhere and hit a character that I loved on a show in which familiarity and comfort had settled in for me as a viewer. Truly a bang to watch.
- Will Gardner (The Good Wife): Shocking doesn't even begin to cover it. Depressing also feels short for how much everyone suffered with it. Truly masterfully handled death.
- Daniel Grayson (Revenge): I've always liked Daniel even when he was full on evil and it was very sad to see him go especially after the honest relationship he had developed with Emily after all this time
- Aiden Mathis (Revenge): Because I did like him bu especially for how much it hurt Emily
- Agent Triplett (Shield): Though we have yet to see the consequences of this in full force, it was very sad to see him go like that after rushing there to help Skye
- Fara (Homeland): After how far she had become, and with how much unresolved things she had, it was just heartbreaking to see her gutted like that. Possibly one of Homeland's saddest moments yet. Truly horrible
- Beth Greene (The Walking Dead): I loved Beth. I was heartbroken when she was killed off like that and Maggie's reaction only made things worse. Forever sad about it.
- Also, not on this list, but Finn (The 100) was absolutely horrible
Worst deaths (in terms of them being horrible decisions for the shows in my opinion):
Always number 1 on this list: Forever bitter for Sarah's Lance death on Arrow. I don't really feel like getting into it again but I will just say that you don't spend a season developing a character on her own right and having the audience fall in love with her to then use her just as a plot device to progress the journey of another character...
2. Beth Greene (TWD): There was still so much for her to do on this world. So many relationships worth re-exploring now that Beth had been reborn, so many places where to take the character. Her death was unnecessary and great storylines will be missed because of that.
3. Obery Martel (Game of Thrones): I forgive the writers since they have books to follow and I really don't feel qualified enough on the GOT methodology to speak about this but Oberyn seemed to be such a great character in that world that loosing him so quick does feel like a mistake
Jury still out on: Daniel (Revenge). It depends on where it moves the story to. Right now, I would have preferred to see him become Emily's partner than to see him sacrifice himself, but I am willing to give them a chance.
I won't mention all the true blood's deaths, since the whole final season is such a big mess that I don't even feel like getting into it.
Yeah, Scarface might get the prize of minor character with the most effective death!
ReplyDeleteI'm a little confused by what you mean by "worst" Death. To me it could mean anything from "most horrible" to "most ridiculous". In which case, horrible would be Beverly Katz since she was sliced up and cooked, and ridiculous would be Dr.Leekey who was shot by accident by the most passive and push-over of all the Orphan Black characters.
ReplyDeleteWell Severide was really the only one who seemed to grieve for her, but he didn't mention her in the last episode. I wouldn't be surprised if they don't talk about her again.
ReplyDeleteSara from Arrow, Sweets from Bones and Alison from Teen Wolf.
ReplyDeleteHow do you mean "worst" most painful for me as an audience member or poorly executed/chosen?
ReplyDeleteSara's death was gross and needless and she was such an important representative figure. The writers should be ashamed of themselves. https://www.change.org/p/the-executive-producers-and-writers-of-arrow-bring-sara-back-the-canary-lives-initiative
ReplyDeleteI'll take it that worse means painful, so for me the most painful deaths were:
ReplyDeleteArrow: Moira, Sara and Oliver (I know he is not really dead but the scene was so emotional and perfectly executed)
AOS: Tripp
HIMYM: The Mother (I'm still so angry about this)
OUaT: Neal (I miss him so much) and Ingrid's death was so heartbreaking EM was amazing.
PLL: I wasn't a fan of Mona but I felt really bad when she died.
Teen Wolf: Alison
The 100: Finn :(
Beth TWD shocked me and made me cry a little and Oberyn GoT was brutal IMO amazing but seriously brutal great show.
ReplyDeleteConrad Grayson
ReplyDeletePerhaps, but highly unlikely
ReplyDeleteAmy Dyer's death in In The Flesh left me heartbroken.
ReplyDeleteLongest list of spoilers I have ever seen...
ReplyDeleteI went with Sweets, as I am still having a hard time with him being gone!
ReplyDeleteShockingly many bad deaths this year, in a bad way. So many characters that did not deserve it. My picks though were Trip, Sara Lance, Beth and Tara.
ReplyDeleteOkkk so before I vote, do you mean worst death as in predictable/cheesy or worth death as in, omg I can't believe they killed this character???
ReplyDeleteBob (The Walking Dead) and Oberyn (Game of Thrones), the rest of them only had clean deaths.
ReplyDeleteCONRAD GRAYSON, Revenge. Killing off the funniest and most charming snakes is a big no-no!
ReplyDeleteThe poll was most likely submitted before that happened.
ReplyDeleteTripp is dead, the EPs confirmed that.
ReplyDeleteDamn I just spoiled Fargo for myself
ReplyDeleteFor me, the pointless/unnecessary deaths were:Leslie Shay. Chicago Fire just isn't the same without her. Her humor/wit is missed. (and Shayveride friendship was so precious and I miss it).
ReplyDeleteBeth Greene. Why kill her? To give way to more new cast members? I don't get it. Then again I don't read the graphic novel so...
Sara Lance. She was a great member of Team Arrow. Sorry, again, I didn't read the comics so IDK if it's canon or not (if it's canon then I'll find it acceptable and not pointless), but it SEEMS to me Sara was killed for Laurel to have something relevant to do.
On the List: Sara from Arrow, Katherine on VD, Shay on CF and MONA PLL.
ReplyDeleteOff the list: Antonio from Bitten and offcourse Allison from TW!!
