Sharon Carter/Agent 13. :) Since she's supposed to be Peggy Carter's niece, she could find some common ground with Trip (who also happens to be S.H.I.E.L.D. legacy), she's as idealistic as Coulson, and overall I think she'd fit in nicely with the team (besides Emily Van Camp and Adrianne Palicki look alike, I'm sure that could be worked into the script for some comic relief).
ReplyDeleteEmily Van Camp is just so perfect for the role, I'd love to see her really sink her teeth into the character and have more screentime, not just serve as a potential love interest for Captain America in the films.
Deadpool :3
ReplyDeleteLiterally anyone but Jane Foster would be fine for me. Random waitress from The Avengers? Sure. Jane Foster? Please no.
ReplyDeleteWhen Revenge finishes up I'd really love to see Emily Vancamp reprise her roll as Sharon on AoS.
ReplyDeletedr. strange
ReplyDeletenatasha is steve's love interest LOL (i hope) and i didn't know Sharon was Carter's niece cool, an immediate niece or some weird second twice removed thing?
ReplyDeleteStrange really? why
ReplyDeleteNot an MCU character since his rights are owned by Fox.
ReplyDelete"In the comics, Sharon was originally written as Peggy Carter's younger sister, but was later retconned as her great-niece. In Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Sharon's last name and relation to Peggy weren't established."
ReplyDeletehttp://marvelcinematicuniverse.wikia.com/wiki/Sharon_Carter
I actually do expect Sharon Carter to appear at some point. It would be very easy to add her in a storyline and it's a good chance to learn a few things about her, since the movies she's likely to appear in(like Civil War) will have more important characters to deal with.
ReplyDeleteOther than that,Pepper,Sam and Rhodey could appear,I guess, but I just don't see it happening.I would like to see Pepper just to see someone's interaction with Coulson post coming back to life(someone who wasn't in on it at least).
I would love for the team to stumble on Bucky at some point,it could be really interesting. But I don't think we'll see him outside the MCU for a while. It would be really cool though.I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a cameo appearance in Agent Carter.
I'd love for Groot to turn up & just keep repeating "I am Groot" the whole episode!
ReplyDeleteAgent 13 was in the new captain america and was played by that Revenge actress, right? I still have yet to watch the movie.
ReplyDeleteMy choices:
ReplyDelete- Bucky Barnes: a huge MCU character - the second Captain America was named after the guy and he made one of the best villains yet - but Sebastian Stan has done TV before and isn't a Hollywood A-lister, so I don't think he would rule out appearing on AoS/demand a ridiculous salary. Heck, he was on ABC's own Once Upon a Time. And from a plot standpoint, I think it would be a gold opportunity to explore more of Bucky's story and what happened to him post-Cap 2. It's one of the best storylines in the MCU right now, but with Ultron and Civil War soon upon us, I fear there won't be much time for it in the movies.
- Sharon Carter: Emily VanCamp, apart from being awesome, is another ABC alum and even hosted the latest Marvel special that replaced AoS on Election Night. If Revenge ends this season (which seems likely), it will open up her schedule and hopefully she can stop by AoS. Finally, despite Revenge's decline in ratings, I do think EVC has a fanbase and an appearance or two (or more!) by her wouldn't hurt the ratings. Oh, and with her being related to Peggy Carter (although I suspect they'll make her Peggy's granddaughter or something - way too young to be her niece like in the comics), there's the potential for various fun references and tie-ins with Agent Carter.
- Peter Quill: like Bucky, a popular and important character so his appearing on AoS should generate a lot of buzz and help the ratings. However, having been primarily a TV actor prior to GotG (Everwood, The O.C., Parks & Rec...), I don't think it's beyond the pale for Chris Pratt to show up on AoS. I know the GotG are in space right now, but there could be a hundred reasons for Star-Lord to drop by Earth for a visit long before the second movie.
I feel like Skye would want to adopt Groot if she ever met him, tbh. Sharon, Jane, and Pepper need to show up too please.
ReplyDeleteHonestly, I just want the GoTG/Avengers/SHIELD agents to hang out and have fun.
(Separate comment to avoid being Tolstoy long)
ReplyDeleteI know I submitted the poll, but admittedly some of the choices aren't realistic and more along the lines of "fantasy casting". I'll explain:
- Rhodey, Pepper Potts and Jane Foster: the actors involved wouldn't be caught dead doing TV, unfortunately. Loki too? I'm not sure, but I don't particulary care for him anyway.
- Groot and Rocket: entirely CGI and therefore too expensive, unless we want them to look absolutely ridiculous. Also, you need Bradley Cooper... good luck getting him to do TV again. (I could see Vin Diesel agreeing to do it since he only has to say 5 words, but still, the CGI problem.)
- Gamora and Drax (and Nebula, if we brought villains into this): tons of makeup that takes hours to apply, and when you get 10 days or so to produce an episode, that's not gonna work. In Nebula's case, I also don't see Karen Gillan shaving her head again for an episode or two of a TV show.
I believe Anthony Mackie isn't a major movie star, so Sam Wilson could show up. However, given that pesky issue of the effects budget, I doubt scenes of The Falcon flying around and kicking ass are possible. The Warriors Three are also possible if there's another Asgardian episode (joined by Sif, hopefully).
Only voted for Jane Foster.
ReplyDeleteBefore you shove me into locker, i think her actually having a long arc will will make people see that shes not as useleass as the Thor movies have made her out to be.
Yes, that's her, played by Emily VanCamp who's the lead on Revenge.
ReplyDeleteGreat comment(s)!
ReplyDeleteI would love nothing more to see Bucky appear in AoS.Actually,I would love for Bucky to be in every Marvel project from here on,but in this case,I just don't see it happening.
It would certainly be interesting, but I think that they'll save his first interactions with
people post Hydra for Steve and the rest of the team.I mean,we don't even know what state he's in right now and,as you said,he's a huge MCU character,so I don't think they'll reveal anything about him in AoS,which they know that the majority of MCU fans doesn't watch.
Any information we get about him, will come from the movies. For example,I'm pretty sure we'll get some something about him in Age of Ultron.Even if he doesn't appear(which I'm hoping),we know that Steve looked/is looking for him so we'll definitely hear something.
There's also the theory that the castle we saw in the AoU trailer is Strucker's castle and that Steve and the others are looking either for Bucky or at least for something that will lead them to him.
So,I don't expect to see him in AoS,but, like I said,I am hoping for a cameo in Agent Carter.Perhaps in the last episode, they just show him frozen or strapped on an operation table, about to get his new arm.Something like that.. ; )
Sharon Carter/Agent 13
ReplyDeleteEven the poll say non- avengers
I would love to see Black Widow and Dark Archer on the show
I voted Loki (cause I'd love to see him anywhere, everywhere, and as often as possible), Star Lord, and Thor. Mostly I want to see Skye and May get all swoony over Thor and his hammer. When they mentioned him in the first season, I cackled like a loon as they both got all dreamy eyed thinking about him. I'd love to see him turn the typically stoic May into a blubbering mess.
ReplyDeleteSharon Carter! One of my favourite characters from the comics and she was criminally underused in TWS, in my opinion it should of been her that took out Brock after he made a break for it and I was just waiting for it, but she just remained on the sidelines. But yeah, I would love it if they could bring her in on AOS to expand her character a little before the next Captain America film. They had her joining the CIA at the end of TWS, so maybe have the SHIELD team require her assistance for whatever reason and bring her back into the fold? I know Emily is busy with Revenge, but they're both ABC, so it should be more likely to work if the network was smart/willing!
ReplyDeleteGwneth Paltrow wouldn't be caught dead on TV? So that was just her doppelgänger on Glee? The real issue with Pepper being on AOS is that there'd be no real use or purpose. Sure, she'd be a big name guest star for the show, and Pepper is apparently friends with Coulson, but she wouldn't exactly bring anything to the AOS world in the same way many others would.
ReplyDeleteI feel like they can complement and enrich Bucky's story from the movies without making it so you have to watch AoS to follow. Kind of like the set-up they're almost definitely doing for the Inhumans right now: as you said, they know by now that most people don't watch AoS so they aren't going to include major plot points or characters in it. However, they can fill in the backstory of the Inhumans and familiarize the audience with them, and briefly recap it in the beginning of the movie for people who aren't AoS viewers. The same goes for Bucky - even if we learn some things about where he went and what he's doing post-Hydra, that won't necessarily leave people who haven't watched the show at a loss.
ReplyDeleteI just really don't see how they can give satisfactory development to Bucky's story in the movies only. Age of Ultron has a gigantic cast as it is, and even if Sebastian Stan is in it, it's probably a brief cameo - there won't be any time to delve into the state of Bucky's psyche or his relationship with Steve. Other than Cap and maybe Black Widow, the Avengers don't have anything to do with Bucky, and they've got Ultron on their hands. Then in Cap 3, we have Iron Man, Black Panther and the beginning of the Civil War. There just isn't time to flesh out the aftermath of Cap 2 in terms of Bucky's character.
Plus, a fifth season of Revenge is looking less and less likely so EVC should be available for a guest spot on AoS next season. I could see a shortened, final fifth season for Revenge at most.
ReplyDeleteBTW, I like the idea of Sharon Carter being a CIA liaison for SHIELD, having joined the former when the latter fell apart.
....well first of all it would be a good introduction for him before the movie, also the magic theme would be a nice contrast to the alien/inhumans we have at the moment and thirdly: Benedict Cumberbatch.
ReplyDeleteI'm on board for all three, except I think that realistically Chris and Sebastian are less likely to guest on the show than Emily is.
ReplyDeleteBesides, imo a Bucky/Winter Soldier storyline would work best if either Steve or Nat were involved as well, and it would be nearly impossible to get either of them. I'd love to have a Bucky/WS storyline on Agent Carter, though.
A Peter Quill cameo would tie-in nicely with the Kree storyline currently on AOS, and the character brings levity that'd be a perfect counterpoint to the Fitzsimmons/Skye/Doctor/Ward drama this season.
Well, one can dream...
Emily definitely didn't get enough screentime in that otherwise awesome movie! I hope she's in Captain America: Civil War, although I don't see her role growing, unfortunately. She might be like the Lady Sif of the Captain America franchise. But if she shows up on AoS, I do think they can develop the character better than in the movies. That's the great thing about AoS, it's a way to explore storylines and characters in the MCU on a smaller, more personal scale: it shows you a side of the universe that's unexplored in the movies.
ReplyDeleteMy thoughts exactly. :)
ReplyDeleteOkay, my bad. I typically think of her as a movie-only actress. But Glee used to be such a hit, a true "water-cooler show", that it was more possible for them to obtain high-profile actors. AoS premiered to huge buzz, yes, but fizzled much more quickly than Glee did.
ReplyDeleteThat being said, I agree that there wouldn't be much of a purpose to Pepper appearing anyway. She's hardly one of the more interesting or important MCU characters.
I get where you're coming from re Bucky, but I think it would be interesting to see him even on his own, without Steve or Natasha. Where did he go after saving Steve in the end of Cap 2? What is he doing? What's his mental state after the essential mindfvck of finding out he used to be a normal person and a war hero before being brainwashed and turned into a killing machine for an evil organization? In fact, if we see him on his own first, trying to recuperate, that could build up anticipation towards his (no doubt very emotional) reunion with Steve.
ReplyDeleteI just feel, like I said in another reply, that there won't be nearly enough time to deal with the aftermath of Bucky's story in Cap 2 on the big screen, with Ultron, Civil War and whatnot on the horizon. I think that's one of the cases where AoS would really come in handy with its potential to complement and enrich the MCU storylines - explore the stuff that the movies just don't have time for.
Her appearance in Glee was sorta special as it was.
ReplyDeleteShe's best friends with Ryan Murphy (the creator) so it was a personal favor to him. Plus she had a musical film in production at that time (Country Song) so she used Glee to get some singing experience.
Correct. But Steve's love interests have varied significantly throughout the years. Its been for the most part understood and accepted that Sharon Carter was his one true love until she died in the 70's. This is old Silver Age comic stuff. Until she was re introduced decades later where they got together again and were together during the events of Civil War (won't add the big spoiler).
ReplyDeleteBut in the intervening time in the 80's and 90's Steve was with mainly two very different women: Bernie Rosenthal and Rachel Leighton aka Diamondback. Marvel also in it's other properties hasn't really decided now to handle Captain America's romances because they have put him with Black Widow in the Avengers cartoons on occasion and in Next Avengers Heroes of Tomorrow James Rogers is featured as the son of Steve Rogers and Natasha Romanov. So there is definitely an interest in having Steve and Natasha together in some way.
Interestingly also and not many noticed this was that when Marvel announced it's phase 3 movie lineup: Black Panther, Doctor Strange, InHumans etc. They announced Captain America: Civil War as the title of the next Captain America film. But on one of the pictures of the stage when the presentation was being made the slide deck showed the Captain America film titled as: Captain America: Serpent Society. This may have been the original name. Might we see Rachel Leighton in the next film?
Plus there's a lot of love for Peggy very well deserved so its difficult to imagine any couple other than steggy (I bawled my eyes out at the end of ca1 and in the two scene) but she could be developed really well on AOS .
ReplyDeleteHell yes I could never imagine now how it would feel about hydra I thought it was the end of hydra in twobut in shield you can it was just the start of an epic tale we wwouldn't have got a deeper perspective if it wasn't for shield and I'm so happy for it
They gave us amazing character and actors they will also surely be credited if inhumans is a huge success ( hell the damn movie has been so hyped up coz of the AOS arc now everyone knows what attilan is!)
Other - One-Above-All
ReplyDeleteSharon Carter without a doubt.
ReplyDeleteBlack Widow is NOT Captain Americas love interest, where did you get this from?
ReplyDeletewe need more baby groot cuteness
ReplyDeleteDark Archer is a DC villain, you mean Hawkeye right? :D
ReplyDeleteI'd love to see him too on this show :D
Yeah I mean him
ReplyDeleteThe evil minds of the most evil people around: shippers.
ReplyDeletehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y8Kyi0WNg40
ReplyDeleteSharon Carter for sure but I would love to see Falcon show up. Example: Quinjet is in the air and the access ramp opens up mid flight and Falcon lands..."last time I saw one of these up close it was shooting at me"
ReplyDeleteSharon (Agent 13), StarLord, Falcon or Bucky.
ReplyDeleteSharon Carter simply because she's a SHIELD agent, related to Peggy and because Emily Van Camp has a contract with ABC. Since Revenge seems to be done after this season as well her joining might even be a valid assumption
ReplyDeleteSif, Fandral, Volstagg and Hogun for a 6 episode arc that begins with Ymir, a frost giant, escaping their custody. He flees through a secret portal that leads the 4 back to earth, as the portal closes behind them they realize that it was a trap for the 4. Searching for both Ymir and a way home they seek out Coulsons help who is more interested in capturing the frost giant instead of sending them home. Meanwhile Ymir approaches Whitehall and offers valuable information in return of a favour: letting the ice giant enter the kree city. Whitehall allows this but Ymir backstabs him. In the ruins we see a Loki cameo that shows a hologram of Loki giving Ymir orders (just for the fanservice). Ymir starts to "infect" the entire city. With the help of Jane Foster (in an episode if Portman would actually be cool with doing this) and Darcy the agents find out that Ymir is turning the city into a black hole wich threatens to eat up earth from beneath. The arc ends in a fight between Ymir, Sif, Volstagg, Hogun and Frandral that they come out of alive. Unfortunately they don't find a portal home, wich leaves them trapped on earth...until Thor 3.
Serpent Society title was a joke.
ReplyDeleteThose were my choices! (+Falcon)
ReplyDeleteBucky, Sharon, Pepper and Rhodey!
ReplyDeleteBut you know, anyone else would be great too :)
Pepper
ReplyDeleteJane
Rhodey
Bucky
Close (reeeeeeeally close) 5th: Sam
Sharon is my distant 6th (but mostly because I'm not the biggest Emily fan...)
Loki
ReplyDeleteSharon. I'd love to see how she deals with working for CIA, how she misses SHIELD (or doesn't), whether she'd like to come back and work for Coulson. Plus it'd give us more information on her, we'd finally see if MCU Sharon is named Carter and is related to Peggy, or isn't. I love Sharon, I'd like to know more about her.
ReplyDeleteMy second choice is Bucky, as with Cap 3 being about Civil War, the Winter Soldier's storyline will probably be relegated to a B plot. Plus, it'd be fun to have a few episodes in which Coulson's team ALMOST crosses paths with Bucky, but then doesn't really, to have them go after some HYDRA guys and find them dead (courtesy of the Winter Soldier).
