New One-Hour Late Night Animation Block Kicks Off on January 22 With Special Sneak Preview Following the New Year’s Day Marathon of The Simpsons

FXX’s Animation Block to be Anchored by Original Episodes of Lucas Bros. Moving Co. and Stone Quackers

LOS ANGELES, December 17, 2014 – FXX will launch its new late-night animation block at midnight on January 22nd featuring all-new episodes of Lucas Bros. Moving Co. and Stone Quackers, it was announced today by Chuck Saftler, President of Program Strategy and COO, FX Networks. Fans will get a sneak peek at the animation block on January 1st at 12 AM ET/PT immediately following a special marathon of The Simpsons. Following the official launch on January 22, the animation block will air on Thursdays at midnight ET/PT, featuring fresh episodes of Lucas Bros. Moving Co. and Stone Quackers.

“Based on the successful launch of The Simpsons on FXX, this is the perfect time to expand our animation offerings and make FXX the afterhours destination for animated shorts and series,” said Saftler.

“We are insanely excited to partner with FXX and help them create a new block of programming for the network,” said Nick Weidenfeld, President ADHD Studios. “I can’t think of a better home for our cartoons or a better way to launch the Lucas Bros. Moving Co. and Stone Quakers then after The Simpsons. 2015 is going to be an awesome year.”

The new animation block will offer a sneak preview on January 1 immediately following a New Year’s Marathon of The Simpsons. Beginning with The Simpsons Movie on Wednesday, December 31, at 7 PM ET/PT, FXX’s exclusive 29-hour marathon will telecast every premiere and finale from 25 seasons of The Simpsons, culminating in an encore showing of The Simpsons Movie on Thursday, January 1, at 10 PM ET/PT. The animation block will follow the marathon with new episodes of Lucas Bros. Moving Co. and Stone Quackers, along with encore showings of High School USA!, Axe Cop and other animated shorts.

Fans of Archer, FX’s #1 rated comedy series, will also be treated to the new episodes of Lucas Bros. Moving Co. and Stone Quackers immediately following the Season 6 premiere of Archer on FX on Thursday, January 8 at 10 PM ET/PT.

FXX’s new animation block officially premieres at midnight ET/PT on January 22, anchored by eight all-new episodes of Lucas Bros. Moving Co. and Stone Quackers, along with episodes of High School USA! and Axe Cop. New installments of the one-hour animation block will follow on Thursdays at midnight on FXX. This amazing line-up features:

LUCAS BROS. MOVING CO.

Brooklyn-based comedians and identical twins Keith and Kenny Lucas get animated in the Lucas Bros. Moving Co. After inheriting their uncles van, the Brothers begin to run a moving company in their neighborhood of Greenpoint, Brooklyn, populated by everyone from their best friend Jerrod (Jerrod Carmichael) to Jake the Snake Roberts, and their mom (Hannibal Buress). The brothers work only to pay their rent and drink beer at Jerrod’s bar, but nothing is easy for the Lucas Brothers. Even the simplest job of installing an air conditioner leads to an epic trek through a frozen tundra in the basement of their apartment building. Guest stars include Abbi Jacobson and Ilana Glazer from Broad City; Adam Devine, Anders Holm, Blake Anderson and Jillian Bell from Workaholics, Jimmy Tatro (22 Jump Street), Michael Che (Saturday Night Live), Eric Andre (The Eric Andre Show), and musical artists Action Bronson, ?uestlove, Danny Brown, YG and Tyler the Creator.

STONE QUACKERS

Stone Quackers will shock, it will disturb, it will provoke. Executive produced by the acclaimed actor John C. Reilly and renowned artist/creator Ben Jones, the duck denizens of Cheeseburger Island endure hardships ranging from hurricanes, severed heads to dangerous hot dogs and the shame of being alive. The show is based on the upbringing of Whitmer Thomas and Clay Tatum (from the lauded live show PowerViolence) and their experience living in the remote and strange city of Gulf Shores, Alabama. Actress/writer, Heather Lawless (The Heart, She Holler) also stars as John C. Reilly’s angelic yet deviant paramour. Guest stars include Pam Adlon (Louie, Californication), Rory Scovel (Ground Floor) and Budd Anthony Diaz (PowerViolence) with music from The Zombies, Lightning Bolt, and The Doobie Brothers.

About FXX’s Animation Block

The predecessor to FXX’s new animation block, Animation Domination High-Def or ADHD, premiered on FOX in July 2013 as a new, late night animated programming block and digital multi-platform network featuring alternative animated series, shorts and user-adapted material. ADHD launched with Axe Cop, High School USA! and Lucas Bros. Moving Co., and offered fans and aspiring talent a unique opportunity to engage with professional FOX-curated content. ADHD moved exclusively to digital platforms, including FoxADHD.com, in April 2014.

NEW YORK – December 17, 2014 – Syfy and Universal Cable Productions today announced that Golden Globe nominee Julian McMahon (Nip/Tuck, Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer) will portray Rupert Boyce, an enigmatic American entrepreneur, in the upcoming six-hour miniseries Childhood’s End.

Adapted for the screen for the first time ever from Arthur C. Clarke’s beloved and influential novel, Childhood’s End will premiere on Syfy in 2015.

Syfy and Universal Cable Productions also announced that Daisy Betts (Shutter) has been cast as Ellie, an arts graduate engaged to marry Ricky Stormgren (Mike Vogel), the most influential human in the world.

After a congratulatory dinner with her parents (Becky Ann Baker, Peter Scolari), Hannah (Lena Dunham) and Adam (Adam Driver) pack up the last of her boxes and discuss “the plan” for their soon-to-be long-distance relationship. Marnie (Allison Williams) and Desi (Ebon Moss-Bachrach) perform as part of a jazz brunch for a distracted crowd at a downtown restaurant. Shoshanna (Zosia Mamet) signs for her diploma with her parents (Ana Gasteyer, Anthony Edwards), who make a bigger deal out of the event than she thinks necessary. Episode #35: “Female Author”

Debut: SUNDAY, JAN. 25 (9:00-9:30 p.m.)

Ray (Alex Karpovsky) gives Marnie a wake-up call about Desi’s true intentions before their meeting with a record label. Shoshanna aces, then blows, a job interview. Adam unwittingly gets drawn into Jessa’s chaotic web after an AA meeting. At a poets’ party in Iowa, Hannah rants about the undue expectations put on women writers, and takes things too far in critiquing her classmates.

Written by Sarah Heyward; directed by Jesse Peretz.

  1. I still don't know whether to laugh or roll my eyes when I read:

Ashley Tisdale Sets Return to ABC Family’s ‘Young & Hungry’

She's the executive producer. She's literally just stepping a few feet from behind the camera to the front of it.

  2. LOL. I didn't know executives producers were always on the set though. Good to know!

  3. Not always. But I have to imagine she probably doesn't have anything else going on.

  4. Phil Miller? Okay, I just decided I'm gonna look at Last Man on Earth as the unofficial spin-off of Bew Girl with Nick and Phil being long lost brothers.

  5. She is starring in TBS's new barbershop sitcom Buzzy's.

  6. So I was pretty close then. :)
