I don't like the synopsis; he's sick and remains away from his colleagues? I guess we are not gonna see a Jisbon kiss in episode 4 either. These foolish games and the shying away from it is really starting to piss me off.
ReplyDeletehm , so you finally started to understand my frustration :)
ReplyDeleteDo you mean that there is no kisses between Jane and Lisbon in episodes 2 and 3?
ReplyDeleteApparently there is a "spoiler" going around that Lisbon and Jane do not kiss in 7.02 or 7.03. I've seen it as comments by others on different websites.
ReplyDeleteWell how will they if the story lines keep separating them?! Lisbon goes undercover in jail in 702, Patrick gets sick in 704 (in the real world it doesn't stop a couple for kissing but here its a good excuse, supposedly) it's like in teen soaps or highschool comedies, this prevention of their kissing with all these lame excuses...it's childish and untruthful. at least 1 3rd of a season goes by without this basic sign of intimacy? If they shied away from it on the very first scene, of Jisbon on the porch, with longing eyes, alone and intimate, they can avoid it for half a season or more. The begining, the start of any romantic relationship, no matter how reserved the partners are, no matter how unconventional Jisbon are, is always the most pattionate. These two are obviously sleeping together, changing keys, discussing the future after two weeks and yet no kissing? Come on!
ReplyDeleteI come to read comments about the title change and there's a spoiler about other stuff in the comments? Thanks a lot.
ReplyDeleteAlso it's good to know where people's priorities lie. We have what seems to be an episode where we finally learn more about Abbott but all you focus on is the apparent lack of J/L kissing? Didn't think I'd see these kinds of posts after Castle, but apparently I was wrong. I guess it really is the only way to show intimacy.
I agree
ReplyDeletewith most of you, when such a relationship begins, normally it is so intense.
We've been rooting for them to be together and we were happy and looking
forward to see them really together eventually. Sharing more than ... a key
option ! I think maybe the actors don't feel confortable with kiss scenes, they
are proud of what defined their characters so far (I mean before Jisbon) also
they are friends in real life. They seem to stick with what their characters
were for 6 seasons, the question is, will the actors allow their characters to
evolve and show more realistic physicall displays of affection ? (it's weird
because Lisbon and Pike were kissing all the time !) But when it come to
Jisbon, they seem to delay this as much as they can, and create bad conditions
for anything physicall to be shown, the kind of things we always get to see in
series, the phone rings and interrupts them, or now Lisbon is in prison, Jane
is sick. I hope it won't last the whole season. The ending scene of episode 1
makes me think about the avengers, with Mrs. Peel, and John Steed, except we
are not in the sixties anymore ! kissing is allowed on tv now.
Love doesn't always involve a kiss and make out. Jane and Lisbon have always been two reserved people who don't talk about their private life in public. The fact that they're now a couple and share some really SWEET moments together is much more we could expect. A kiss between them would just be another proof, but I can go ok with the sweetness right now. Also, TM has always been a tv show of subtitles and references to others operas, movies... Heller knows how to treat a couple, and if people don't get this, I'm so sorry for them.
ReplyDeletewho ever said anything about making out? is one peck on the lips in 4 episodes called making out? I love what they did in the first episode! I love the small gestures and loving facial expressions, I love Jane being protective and honest with Lisbon, am I still allowed to think that it's missing or lacking in that other respect? we saw pretty much in those couple of episodes with Pikecake, anyway, you are entitled to think differently. For me, it's missing if indeed spoilers are correct in that respect, from the obvious reasons I pointed out,.
ReplyDeleteThank god someone got my point! I'm not expecting make out sessions or hot and heavy scenes - that would be totally off - nor am I expecting for them to kiss wherever they go, just small pecks from time to time, bc whatever couple, no matter how reserved and private - are physical in that respect (and Jisbon are way beyond kissing, changing keys after 2 weeks and all...) so dragging it in the final season, using silly excuses to shy away from it is silly. And they are both amazing actors and very good friends so I don't see any problem other than the writers' really...
ReplyDeleteyep.
ReplyDeleteI couldn't agree more with you.
ReplyDeleteAlso: people. Only one episode has aired yet. The description of upcoming episodes say nothing about the possibility of a kiss, there are several ways to build a scene like that into the episode even if the characters don't seem to be with each other 24/7 (beginning. end. somewhere in the middle when they see each other). Calm down and just enjoy a wonderful show. I ship them too but my god it's not the only reason I watch the show (or any show for that matter).
it's not the reason I watch it either, but it's the only thing that feels unauthentic and thus bothers me. As I said, who cares if 2 episodes ton't contain a kiss, but 33% of the season is another thing. and yes people saw the first 3 episodes, every spoiler they gave on the premiere was spot on so I believe them. Finally, if Jisbon are being conveniently separated every other episode (702, 704) it's easy to see this dragging for a couple more episodes...
ReplyDeleteOh, look! The crazies took over this post. Good thing it's a minority and the other ones are full of praise for S7's great start. Nothing to see here, move along.
ReplyDeleteI hope your boyfriend/girlfriend/partner either now or in the future is ready for you, because you'll be all up in their face. Literally stuck to it. Or at least, I hope you will be. Be true to yourself. Peace.
ReplyDeleteGod, you are so right! :) :D
ReplyDeleteOne obvious question, if Jane is too sick to go out into the field, then why is he at the office?
ReplyDeleteI agree with you. Besides if they were shown kissing or making out in every episode then it would, to me, scream of Castle or Bones where their two lead characters are either kissing or making out in nearly every episode. (The lead actress in Castle even remarked how Beckett and Castle make out every other episode in fact back in the begining of the characters relationship.)
ReplyDeleteYes, also Simon and Robin are so good that shows how Jane and Lisbon can be so in love without kissing each other. That's pure magic!
ReplyDeleteI just saw on another site where it was said that Robin commented how she felt lucky getting paid to hang out and kiss Simon. Assuming that it wasn't said in some form of jest and coupled with how Robin said that Simon's wife asked her if it was alright if she watched Robin and Simon film a kissing (Assuming that that wasn't the season 6 finale) then I would assume that at some point there will be a scene with Jane and Lisbon kissing.
ReplyDeleteHeller said it was how well Simon and Robin worked together which led them to pursue Jane and Lisbon getting together, if they hadn't worked well together then they wouldn't have pursued it.
ReplyDeleteclearly you did not get my point. A kiss at any cost? god, no! that was not what I said or meant but NVM
ReplyDeletethanks for patronizing. obviously you did not get my point. NVM. have a nice day!
ReplyDeleteWatch the episode then you'll know;)
ReplyDeleteActually it showed in the preview that Jane seems to start getting sick after they start working the case.
