The Mentalist Season 7 continues to explore Jane and Lisbon’s relationship. We’ve seen them at work, being separated, and now they have a big obstacle: Erica Flynn. In Orange Blossom Ice Cream, the couple travel undercover to Beirut where they must work with her, who agrees to help the FBI apprehend her boyfriend, a courier for terrorist organizations, in exchange for amnesty for the past crimes. Erica Flynn means trouble since she’s a very femme fatale and Lisbon may feel a bit of competition. This is not the first time for Jane to be between the two women, who both have history with him. Don’t worry: this season is all about Jane and Lisbon.
As usual, here some teasers and quotes from the episodes. Feel free to speculate.
Some teasers:
-Lisbon and Abbott’s different reactions when Jane is asked why Erica Flynn wants to work with him.
-As you can imagine, the meeting among Jane, Lisbon and Erica is a bit awkward.

ReplyDeleteSo, in case you can answer- will the Erica-Flynn-problem between Jane and Lisbon be resolved at the end of the episode... so that Lisbon isn't jealous anymore? (Sorry, I had to ask anyway). I'm not really happy about jealous Lisbon, I think she suffered enough... as did Jane.

ReplyDeleteThe quotes seem quite easy to guess this time. ^^I'd say Jane and Erica for the first one, definitely Jane for the second, the third one is Erica (to Lisbon) and the last is the most difficult one...but probably Lisbon (to Jane). I don't expect an answer by the way ;), I'll see on thursday whether I was right or not.

ReplyDeleteWhy can't you just shut up if people have other preferences about the show than you have? You don't give a flying one about that part of their relationship, fine, I got it about three seasons ago. So now just ignore the things you can't stand, and go talk about what you love instead.

“You do what you want, I’m done.” Sounds like Lisbon probably fighting with Jane weather it will be an actual fight or a fake one I have no clue.
ReplyDeleteSomeone has to tell me what "History" is between Jane and Erica because I surely never seen anything. (Though that could be because I'm not a fan of Erica's Character and therefore didn't care to notice.)
There are a few Characters from past seasons that I think could be the two mentioned, I think one maybe Mashburn or Pike, and since it's Erica and seeing how she escaped the last time we saw her the other maybe Wainwright.
I can't remember anything ever going on between Jane and Erica either...

ReplyDeleteI wrote "history" not to mention a love story, but some "past" between them. I know something really happened between Jane and Erica, but SOMETHING happened indeed - look back in season 4, I'm sure you'll find "something".

ReplyDeleteErica kissed Jane in 415 where he stood there practically frozen and kind of freaked out. They spent the episode pleasantly conning the bad guys in the case. Lisbon wasn't thrilled with the whole thing, rightfully thinking Erica has another agenda (which she did, she got away).
ReplyDeleteI have to admit, this doesn't sound like something I'd enjoy :/ I do not want to see Lisbon jealous or grumpy because of Jane. He's put her through enough already, she deserves some peace. If anything, HE should feel uncomfortable and make an effort to put her at ease. I would not like it if they somehow make it as if he's drawn to Erica and has to stop himself or whatever. Blech. That'd be terrible.

ReplyDeleteYeah I agree. I don't want to see Jane affected by Erica in any way this time and giving Lisbon reason to be jealous. Otherwise he's not really worthy of Lisbon's love. Given the fact that they haven't showed any physical closeness between Jane and Lisbon (no hug, no kiss, no handholding except some cute scenes proving that they are a cute couple :) ), I hope that seeing another woman flirty with Jane and Jane, even if it's a play, responding to it pays off really big in favour of Lisbon and Jane.

ReplyDeleteWhen Erica got out of prison- had dinner with Jane- then escaped she tried to seduce Jane in her hotel room, kissed him. The important part is that Jane kissed her back, and I mean really kissed her and that as I have said before surprised Jane and scared him. Season 4 Episode 15, "War of the Roses"

ReplyDeleteI was just saying that I couldn't recall that momemt, which as I've said could be because I do not like the Character Type Erica is and I believe anyone who falls for her and she can minipulate is stupid or an idiot. (Which could be another reason why I can't recall it because I never saw Jane as the type of person who Erica could miniulate and thus not stupid or an idiot.)
It should be apparent from the year that I've been comment on this site that I draw a find line when it comes to sometimes. When it comes to Erica's character type that line is clearly marked. (No pun intended.) It doesn't meant those things don't happen.
Also my interperatation of those events could be diffrent from yours and everyone elses, which is why I don't see the 'History' with Jane and Erica.
