Barry, why do you have to become annoying all of a sudden? I like him because he's not the asshole Oliver often is, which is seemingly being reversed in this episode.
OH NO HE DIDN'T!!!!!!!!!! I can't wait to see Oliver wiping the floor with you! Even if you are infected. No one says those things to Oliver and survives, AND DON'T YOU EVER CALL HIM OLLIE AGAIN!
Okay, that's post-Raider, right? Because if not, Oliver needs to string Barry up in the Foundry to use as fast-healing target practice. I mean, "Ollie?" Really? I was Team Arrow for this fight anyway, but now I need Oliver to KICK HIS ASS.
They better make Oliver beat him... If not, i'm gonna be really pissed off! They need to show Barry that experience matters.
Also, he has gotten way to cocky(Even before he was affected by the Rainbow Raider)... That mug scene from last week? He had powers for 2 months and almost got killed 3 times...
All Oliver is trying to do is help Barry, with all the experience that he's gotten over the years, but Barry's being an asshole! Jealously? REALLY? Speed is not good if you don't have the skills and experience to use it properly, otherwise you could end up hurting other people as well as yourself.
Oliver doesn't need to be as fast as Barry, Oliver will just out-smart him.
Even under mind control, with these types of mind-control, Barry isn't being told what to say, he's just revealing his innermost dark thoughts. So it IS Barry in a way, just not the kinder, sweeter Barry that we know.
You know what is the worst part? It's that Oliver isn't rich anymore and he doesn't want any girl he just wants ONE but he doesn't think that he can be with her, so it was a real low blow, I know he might be infected but he clearly thinks those things already, and that makes him the real jealous one. Go get him, Oliver.
He did in his first scene in the episode after he said "Nice mask", in the promo there is a shot of him climbing up and leaving the place where he saw Barry and Joe, it looked like a barn to me.
No, because Ollie is pre-island Oliver, and we all know how he was then, that's why it bothers me when they called him that because when he was Ollie he was awful to both of them and he is not that person anymore, but the only person (among the three people who call him that) he wasn't awful to when he was Ollie is Thea that's why I'm OK with her calling him that because that's the only side of Ollie that I liked and I don't mind current day Oliver being associated with it, do you get my point?
Oh... Grant is a little bit too good at playing a douchebag. I loved Sebastian Smythe in Glee. He was the best negative character on that show.
There must be a reason they were slowly hinting at Barry's over confidence and show off mentality in previous episodes. I am sure this crossover is going to change his outlook on the way he goes about vigilantism.
I was surprised by how dorky Barry was. But I always thought GG had lots of potential. The fun fact was in Glee he came between a popular gay pair and had this really mean comments yet fans loved him. He had so much style.
But that aside, I think Grant Gustin is doing a great job playing his character completely out of character. At least the character we know. Someone wrote here that the "infection" by this metahuman doesn't change Barry literally but "only" shows the darkness that's already somewhere inside him. Sorry, I can't describe it better. :(
Ollie is just the name they called him in some of the older DC comics. That's where it comes from. But it is stupid. If he can't call him Oliver then how about Queen?
Poor Ollie. This is why I don't like superpowers mixing with normal folks. I like my alphas to be the best. And there comes a time, when Oliver can't keep up, can't win. Poor Oliver, he's taken a lot of lumps in the the first half of this season: lost his friend, lost his company, living in a basement, lost his partner/love interest, watched Diggle have a family and a life, has to put up with Thea getting another personality change, has to put up with Laurel training with Ted (and having to save her when she gets in trouble). Now, he has to put up with Barry telling him he's always gonna be less even while needing his help. He's gotta lash out soon, 'cause he can't keep all that bottled up.
I know that it's his nickname in the comics and it didn't bother me when they used it in Smallville, but in Arrowverse that name is kind of an insult and that's exactly why Barry used it.
Yeah Grant is very talented and that's why I am starting to hate Barry a little, Grant is very convincing as a bad guy lol. You described it very well, I understand what you mean and I agree. Sure the "infection" showed Barry's dark side but it didn't implant those thoughts in his head, they were already there and the infection made him say them out loud, which is very telling, because if he really thinks those things then he is the one who is jealous,
you're probably right, if he joins the league willingly it would be to protect someone he loves (I think it's going to be Thea) and because he thinks he doesn't have anything left for him in Starling.
"But this season has been filled with a whole lotta suck for Oliver." my heart is breaking for you Oliver :(
"Especially when Barry starts dumping on you, I mean who's next, Roy?" hahahaha well Roy did more than enough dumping last season lol
The best part of Grant's character in Glee was he was gay and he used to torment Kurt with gay jabs... It was fun. He is so different and likable in The Flash even with all the cockiness. There is a kid like quality to Barry.
Well i have to say it, stupid Barry. I don't get him, he just had his powers and all of sudden he knows everything about everything. But hey i know him from tv shows and almost everywhere he is like that, yet this kind of behavior from him still surprises me.
I don't like how they are setting up barry to lose so he can learn some lesson whatever. At the end of the day when Barry does learn to harness his power better he is more powerful than Olivier. I think this will be the only time that oliver will have any advantage over Barry. He better enjoy it and remember the one time he beat a superpowered human. As you can see I'm team flash all the way.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Barry, why do you have to become annoying all of a sudden? I like him because he's not the asshole Oliver often is, which is seemingly being reversed in this episode.
ReplyDeletei think he just affected by the Rainbow Raider
ReplyDeleteI hope so. Because if this is Barry on his own free will I'm gonna be annoyed.
ReplyDeleteOH NO HE DIDN'T!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see Oliver wiping the floor with you! Even if you are infected. No one says those things to Oliver and survives, AND DON'T YOU EVER CALL HIM OLLIE AGAIN!

I am all aboard the Oliver should kick Barrys ass train.
ReplyDeleteOoooh, that looks good.
ReplyDeleteGrant Gustin can really do nasty too.
All Oliver is trying to do is help Barry, with all the experience that he's gotten over the years, but Barry's being an asshole! Jealously? REALLY? Speed is not good if you don't have the skills and experience to use it properly, otherwise you could end up hurting other people as well as yourself.
ReplyDeleteOliver doesn't need to be as fast as Barry, Oliver will just out-smart him.
it's not really Barry
ReplyDeleteYou should've seen him on Glee.
ReplyDeleteyeah for me anyway i only like when Thea, Laurel and when Sara was alive call him that what is it for you?
ReplyDeleteI can only tolerate it when Thea calls him that.
ReplyDeleteohhh right he was glee right? as a bad guy
ReplyDeleteno Laurel and Sara when she was alive?
ReplyDeleteEven under mind control, with these types of mind-control, Barry isn't being told what to say, he's just revealing his innermost dark thoughts. So it IS Barry in a way, just not the kinder, sweeter Barry that we know.
ReplyDeleteME TOO
ReplyDeleteJust Thea, she is the only one who doesn't annoy me when she calls him that.
ReplyDeleteooohh well that's going to stay with him even after he's cured
ReplyDeleteJesus ... Barry insulted Sally (the salmon ladder) & called OLLIE. You Better run Barry!
ReplyDeleteYou know what is the worst part? It's that Oliver isn't rich anymore and he doesn't want any girl he just wants ONE but he doesn't think that he can be with her, so it was a real low blow, I know he might be infected but he clearly thinks those things already, and that makes him the real jealous one. Go get him, Oliver.
ReplyDeleteI dont think i can forgive Barry for insulting Sally.
ReplyDeleteoh my god you did not just name the salmon ladder LOL
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure I will like him very much after that episode. I think Barry said barn not bar.
ReplyDeletetsk... nope. Sally was named long time ago. Its the first love story of Arrow.
ReplyDeletewhy would Oliver climb a barn?
ReplyDeleteHe did in his first scene in the episode after he said "Nice mask", in the promo there is a shot of him climbing up and leaving the place where he saw Barry and Joe, it looked like a barn to me.
ReplyDeletemy money is on Sally since Barry will be all casual on the Arrow part of the crossover not really seing what the big deal is about the salmon ladder.
ReplyDeleteThey are olicity shippers so of course they didn't like Sara and Laurel calling him Ollie.
ReplyDeleteLike Caitlin says Oliver just has a bow and arrow. Barry has superpowers. Oliver is getting his ass beat
ReplyDeletea comment like that had to show up. Its really precious.
ReplyDeleteNo, because Ollie is pre-island Oliver, and we all know how he was then, that's why it bothers me when they called him that because when he was Ollie he was awful to both of them and he is not that person anymore, but the only person (among the three people who call him that) he wasn't awful to when he was Ollie is Thea that's why I'm OK with her calling him that because that's the only side of Ollie that I liked and I don't mind current day Oliver being associated with it, do you get my point?
ReplyDeleteTo build up enough force? lol
ReplyDeleteOhh nooo. He called him Ollie. ewww. Oh shit, he's going down. My god i love Grant. He's great.
ReplyDeleteYeah somethings not right with Barry. He's being a dick.
ReplyDeleteOh... Grant is a little bit too good at playing a douchebag. I loved Sebastian Smythe in Glee. He was the best negative character on that show.
ReplyDeleteThere must be a reason they were slowly hinting at Barry's over confidence and show off mentality in previous episodes. I am sure this crossover is going to change his outlook on the way he goes about vigilantism.
boy you've got an ego on you Barry, whats up with that are you drugged?
ReplyDeletehe was that good on Glee huh, so is it weird for you seeing him here on The Flash as a great guy
ReplyDeleteI was surprised by how dorky Barry was. But I always thought GG had lots of potential. The fun fact was in Glee he came between a popular gay pair and had this really mean comments yet fans loved him. He had so much style.
ReplyDeleteYep. ;)
ReplyDeleteBut that aside, I think Grant Gustin is doing a great job playing his character completely out of character. At least the character we know. Can't wait for Oliver to teach milk boy a lesson or two!
ReplyDeleteOllie is just the name they called him in some of the older DC comics. That's where it comes from. But it is stupid. If he can't call him Oliver then how about Queen?
ReplyDeleteIntense! can't wait!
ReplyDeletePoor Ollie. This is why I don't like superpowers mixing with normal folks. I like my alphas to be the best. And there comes a time, when Oliver can't keep up, can't win. ReplyDeleteI keep waiting for the moment when it's finally too much and he breaks down, it won't be pretty, poor Oliver :(
ReplyDeletemessed up you don't need to bash Marvel
ReplyDeleteI wasn't bashing Marvel!?!?
ReplyDeleteDisney owns all those rights, so the Disney Channel would show Marvel not DC?
oh my bad sorry i just get a little defensive
ReplyDelete"climb that stupid bar till your heart explode" this part hurts me badly.
ReplyDeleteI know that it's his nickname in the comics and it didn't bother me when they used it in Smallville, but in Arrowverse that name is kind of an insult and that's exactly why Barry used it.

"Especially when Barry starts dumping on you, I mean who's next, Roy?" hahahaha well Roy did more than enough dumping last season lol
The producers said the metahuman provokes anger. That implies that he builds on maybe smaller aspe
ReplyDeleteOff topic: I showed my mom Grant performing on Glee and she was mesmerized that he was that confident on Glee and so awkward on Flash.
ReplyDeleteThe best part of Grant's character in Glee was he was gay and he used to torment Kurt with gay jabs... It was fun. He is so different and likable in The Flash even with all the cockiness. There is a kid like quality to Barry.
