EMMA ROBERTS AND JAMIE LEE CURTIS JOIN FOX’S UPCOMING COMEDY-HORROR SERIES “SCREAM QUEENS”

Series Hails From GLEE Creators Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Ian Brennan

15-Episode First Installment to Premiere Fall 2015

Emma Roberts (“American Horror Story: Freak Show,” “Scream 4”) and Jamie Lee Curtis (“Halloween,” “A Fish Called Wanda,” “True Lies”) have been cast in leading roles in SCREAM QUEENS, a new comedy-horror series from Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk, Ian Brennan and Dante Di Loreto, the executive producers of GLEE and “American Horror Story.”

The first installment in the new anthology series revolves around a college campus which is rocked by a series of murders. Fifteen one-hour episodes have been ordered, which are scheduled to begin production in the spring and premiere in Fall 2015 on FOX.

Emma Roberts currently stars as “Maggie Esmeralda” in the FX drama anthology series, “American Horror Story: Freak Show.” She also was part of the ensemble in “American Horror Story: Coven.” Roberts is familiar with horror audiences from her starring role in “Scream 4,” in which she portrayed “Jill,” shocking audiences when it was revealed that the sweet girl-next-door character turned out to be the killer. Roberts’ additional feature credits include Gia Coppola’s directorial debut, “Palo Alto,” alongside James Franco; and the hit comedy “We’re The Millers,” opposite Jason Sudeikis and Jennifer Aniston. She will next be seen in the feature films “Michael,” re-joining her “Palo Alto” co-star James Franco; and “Ashby,” with Mickey Rourke and Ned Wolfe.

Jamie Lee Curtis first captured the attention of moviegoers as “Laurie Strode” in John Carpenter’s seminal horror classic “Halloween.” Her impact as the film’s heroine led to starring roles in a series of horror classics, including “The Fog,” “Prom Night,” Terror Train” and “Halloween II,” earning her the well-deserved moniker of “Scream Queen.” Curtis expanded far beyond the horror genre with leading roles in such films as “Trading Places,” “A Fish Called Wanda” and “True Lies,” for which she won a Golden Globe Award. Her television credits include a recurring role on NEW GIRL and a starring role in “Anything But Love,” for which she won her first Golden Globe Award. Curtis is a best-selling author of 10 children’s books, and also serves on the board of Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.

SCREAM QUEENS is produced by 20th Century Fox Television in association Ryan Murphy Television. The series is co-created by Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Ian Brennan. Murphy, Falchuk, Brennan and Dante Di Loreto will serve as executive producers.

  2. Hmm, comedy horror makes me think of the movie Detention with Josh Hutcherson.

  4. WoW! Ryan is taking up a lot of buisness! AHS, AMurderS and this! Hopefully he will keep up.

  5. I think he can manage AHS and this. Crime is the one I'm not interested in (because of the choice for 1st season story).

  6. I'd love to see Sarah Michelle on American Horror Story, I know a lot of her fans have been saying that for a while.

  7. I'm actually interested to see how they tell the OJ story from a different perspective and who they cast, though with both of these shows it feels like RM is just sort of profiting off the success of AHS. I think it's cool that they've cast Jamie Lee Curtis for this but again it's pretty gimmicky and I don't have much faith that the series will be great. I'll definitely give it a shot though.

  8. Well, a couple of years ago he was producing The New Normal, Glee and American Horror Story, so I guess he's used to the rush.

  9. I would love to see Sarah Michelle Gellar on AHS! I'd like to see her on Supernatural top.

  10. I'm glad Emma got cast for the first season since Ryan Murphy shows have a habit of going to heck after two seasons. Might actually get something decent to do. She really was the best thing about Coven. And what would a show called Scream Queens be without Jamie Lee Curtis!!?

  11. Yes but everytime he moves onto a new show, the one he was focusing on before loses a lot of its quality. Glee went to shit, and he's developing a lot of shows this year and AHS4 has went downhill in my opinion.

  12. LOL ryan murphy can NEVER just rest on one show only, it's ridiculous. But i think for Crime, he's not the showrunner, just an executive producer, so his focus would be on AHS and scream queen.

Is it just me or does scream queen sound very much in the veins of coven?, If that's the case, then good for emma roberts, she definitely suited that season more than freak show

  13. AHSs4 has been my fave since asylum though, so I feel like it's been improving. But that's just my opinion too

  14. I totally agree... I will miss Jessica Lange,I hope she agrees to take a small role in season 5.

  15. I think too that Glee went downhill in part because of the Murphy, Falchuck and Brennan leaving and most of the writers weren't really good, plus, the newbies of season 4, weren't that interesting

  16. But why on FOX? Cancel the show now.
