I think she genuinely sees that Drew is trying (emphasis on trying) to be a father to Ralph. And, I have to say, sometimes it's really hard to make a clean break when someone from your past returns unexpectedly. Old feelings for Drew are probably flooding back and are confusing her. Something tells me that eventually Paige will realize that enough is enough. Just because Drew cheated on her as well as forced her and Ralph to move from place to place while he was a baseball player, it doesn't mean Paige has resolved whatever feelings he had felt for him. I think it's great that the writers brought in Drew to shake things up. After all, Paige really needs to figure out where Drew stands. Once that is done, she may be able to recognize her feelings (or, budding feelings) for Walter.
I am glad that Toby seems to always throw hints about Drew - reminding Paige what Drew did to her. I just don't think Paige is ready to let go just yet - especially since Drew has been a "good" influence on Ralph.
I love Waige moments on Scorpion, but I want it to be slow. If they jump on that wagon too soon, it might not be a good executive decision for the writers. Consider Bones or Castle, for example. Both Booth & Bones and Castle & Beckett didn't get together until the fifth or so seasons of their shows, giving the characters room for growth before starting something that could impair their friendships. Paige and Walter only met like two or so months ago.... It's too soon to do something "romantic-escque" with them. Sure, I say, BRING ON THE FLUFF! :) But they need time before doing anything drastic.
Happy and Toby, on the other hand, have known each other for years. I would not be surprised if they get together before Walter and Paige. Just remember, it's all about the endgame. :)
Oy, this Drew stuff! I agree with Toby. Paige needs to realize this is the same thing as before with Drew: baseball and HIS needs come before Ralph. It's frustrating that she's ignoring that and making excuses for him as if she hasn't learned a dang thing from the guy abandoning her and their son for 7 years.
It seems like from her dialogue she does know about the opportunity but it feels like they glossed over it. Not seeing her react to it is disappointing. I feel like she should have a more upset reaction to it. I mean, he's talking about waltzing back out of Ralph 's life again and there's nothing from her about it. They're making her wimpy towards Drew and it's disappointing.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
ALL PRAISE TOBY CURTIS !!!!, thank you very much Toby for saying that, is it me or did Paige forget what and who drew is and what he did to her?

ReplyDeleteBooth and Bones got together in the end of season six, the start of season 7. (It coincided with Emily's real life pregnancy.)
ReplyDeleteCastle and Beckett got together at the end of season 4/start of season 5.
Did Drew say that he was done with Baseball?
ReplyDeleteThis episode's cave-in plot seems to be just as much of an eye-roller as I thought it would be.
ReplyDeletegood point
ReplyDeletecome on did you really think that
ReplyDeleteOlivia and Peter end of season 4 & 5 rocked!
ReplyDeleteNot 100%, but my comment was more ment that Paige should have remembered that.
