Note: The following labels are based on the household overnights and are subject to change given the availability of other pending data streams. These overnights are your first look at the ratings and a precursor to what could lie ahead. And we take into account other benchmarks including the expected demographic ratings, potential DVR usage, the critical acclaim (or lack of) and the social media presence.
-Winners:
“Christmas in Rockefeller Center” (NBC), “Survivor” (CBS), “The Middle” (ABC), “The Goldbergs” (ABC), “Arrow” (CW), “Modern Family” (ABC), “Black-ish” (ABC), Saturday Night Live: A Saturday Night Christmas” (NBC)
-Losers (excluding repeats):
“Red Band Society” (Fox), “The 100” (CW)

Ratings Breakdown:
CBS led this first December Wednesday in the household overnights, besting No. 2 NBC by three-tenths of a rating point (or six percent). But NBC opened the evening on a winning note care of annual special “Christmas in Rockefeller Center” at a 6.6 rating/10 share from 8-9 p.m. Comparably, this was up by five percent from the 6.3/10 in the overnights on the year-ago evening (and that 6.3 rating translated into 9.74 million viewers and a 2.3 rating/7 share among adults 18-49, based on the Live Plus Same Day data).
Next on NBC was special “Saturday Night Live: A Saturday Night Christmas” at a 4.3/ 7 from 9-11 p.m., which was 10 percent below the 4.8/ 8 for the year-ago special. And that translated into 7.42 million viewers and a 2.6/ 8 in the demo, based on the Live Plus Same Day data. In other words, this night of specials is expected to lead NBC to victory in adults 18-49 (and all the key young adult demo groups). And the “SNL” special was still a very valid option despite the minor overnight erosion.
Two episodes of veteran “Survivor” on CBS, meanwhile, were on the map with a 5.7/ 9 in the 8 p.m. hour (#2) and a 5.5/ 8 (#1t) from 9-10 p.m. And it led into a dominant 4.9/ 8 for full season renewed freshman drama “Stalker” at 10 p.m., which will likely pale in comparison to the competing “SNL” holiday special on NBC in the young adult demos.
SPOILER ALERT: If you don’t want to know what happened on “Survivor” last night, stop reading. While the decision to vote out in the second episode was, as expected, either Alec or Keith, why did Natalie, who was gunning for Jon, not target Jaclyn after Jon won immunity? Alec, Keith and potentially bratty Baylor might have joined her. Why is everyone letting Jon and Jaclyn run away with the season?
Tops on ABC Wednesday, as always, was “Modern Family,” which scored a 6.7/10 in the 9 p.m. half-hour. And that led into a 5.2/ 8 (#3) for “Black-ish,” the highest rated new sitcom this season, which outdelivered failed year-ago occupant “Super Fun Night” (3.5/ 6 on 12/04/13) by 49 percent in the overnights. Comparably, the 78 percent overnight retention for “Black-ish” out of “Modern Family” last night was considerably above the 51 percent for “Super Fun Night” in this time period last season.
Earlier in the evening on ABC was the compatible combination of sitcoms “The Middle” (#3: 5.0/ 8) and “The Goldbergs” (#4: 4.6/ 7) from 8-9 p.m. Year-to-year, “The Goldbergs” was 31 percent above failed former time period occupant “Back in the Game” (3.5/ 6 on 12/04/13). And it is expected to grow out of “The Middle” once again by two or three-tenths of a rating point among adults 18-49.
ABC closed the evening with three year-old drama “Nashville” at a typical 3.9/ 7 in the household overnights, which was equal to the year-ago evening.
Over at The CW, “Arrow,” featuring the conclusion of the crossover with “The Flash,” rose to a 2.7/ 4 (#5) from 8-9 p.m., which was 17 percent above the 2.3/ 4 on the year-ago evening. One night earlier, “The Flash” (featuring “Arrow”) scored a 3.0/ 5. Despite the improved lead-in support, sophomore “The 100” could only muster a 1.3/ 2 in the 9 p.m. hour (#5), which was only equal to failed year-ago time period occupant “The Tomorrow People.”
In what could be series-finale news, freshman “Red Band Society” on Fox scored a 2.2/ 3 at 9 p.m. (#4), which was 21 percent below tired lead-in “Hell’s Kitchen” (2.8/ 4 at 8 p.m.). The pair, on average, was 36 percent below year-ago occupant “The X Factor” (3.9/ 6 on 12/04/13), which is rumored to be potentially returning next season. Three additional episodes of “Red Band Society” have been produced, but there is no word when…or if…Fox will air them.

Bang! BULSEYE FOR ARROW! Last week it was 2.0. I expect a 1.2 or 1.3 demo!
ReplyDeleteThe100 rose a bit as well, hopefully it gets its 0.6 maybe even an 0.7
Nice one Arrow! Hopefully it hits at least a 1.2 which would match the season 2 high.
ReplyDeleteIt'd be nice if The 100 could notch a .7 or higher, that'd be a season high.
Pretty sure we're getting a very well deserved season high for arrow. Probably a 1.2, but maybe we can hope for a 1.3? I would love to see a 0.7 for the 100!
ReplyDeleteLooks like NBC will win Sunday-Thursday this wee, not bad
ReplyDeleteThey won Tuesdays by like a tenth and they had no competition on Mondays (CBS was in repeats and ABC was airing a Christmas special), so it's hardly a big achievement IMO.
ReplyDeleteI hope for that 0.7 for The 100 too! I'll be already ok with a 0.6, but that 1.3 in HH makes me believe it is possible to see a 0.7
ReplyDeleteI just realized that! and yesterday was all special and today is musical- Yup its an artificial win
ReplyDeleteI would love a 1.2 for Arrow then a bump in the final ratings to a 1.3!!! Great episode and the finale looks like it is going to be epic!!!
ReplyDeleteIs that 4.9 good or bad for Stalker?
ReplyDeleteIt looks good for Arrow and i'm glad!
ReplyDeleteIt doesn't look bad for The 100 and i don't get it why it is a loser today.
Wow at that 2.7 for Arrow! Only 3 tenths below The Flash in HH! I'm hoping for quite a boost here!
ReplyDeleteEven if only a little, The 100 seems to be up and that's all I care; sure, I'd love if it had better retention out of Arrow, but any uplift is welcome
Great for the ABC and NBC lineup!!! Also very good for Arrow, which I've watched for the first time since spring 2013 because of The Flash crossover.
ReplyDeleteI still dream of 1.4 for Arrow, though it might never happen.. Still, last year the 2.3 was for the first of the Barry episodes (2.08) that got 1.2 ratings, and this year we have 2.7.. so maybe 1.3-1.4 are an option? A girl can only dream, right?
ReplyDeleteAnd as for The 100, I hope it got 0.7.
Yay ABC! What do you think the demos were?
ReplyDeleteI don't think that's good for a brand new show (aired on CBS)... But I'd say it's not horrible too...
ReplyDeleteShows aired on CBS are clearly down or weak this year... I don't really understand the reason why..
Arrow has a chance for that 1.4. The Flash got a 3.0 and got a 1.6, and it has been doing 2.6 in HH for some weeks and it has been getting 1.4s.
ReplyDeleteIt will probably do a 1.2-1.3, but don't rule out that possibility.
For The 100. I honestly wish it is a 0.8 (unlikely, but still posible), but I'll take a 0.6 if that's what it got. Luckily, it seems like a 0.7 is pretty much a possibility
Do you think it could earn at least a 1.6? =/
ReplyDeleteIt looks like ABC took a hit last night
ReplyDeleteArrow - 1.3/1.4
ReplyDeleteThe 100 - 0.7/0.6
Now if Arrow and The Flash could have another cross-over that will also serve as a backdoor pilot for a 3rd show, maybe a show about the Suicide Squad ;)
ReplyDeleteMaybe 2.0 for The Middle.
ReplyDelete2.2 for The Goldbergs.
3.3 for Modern Family.
2.5 for Blackish.
1.5 for Nashville.
Are those your predictions?
ReplyDeleteI was thinking something similar. At some point it even crossed my mind something like "Agents of Argus" xD. I think we will see a 3rd superhero show instead of Suicide Squad, but it's not out of the realm of possibilities
ReplyDeleteI'd be really happy with it
ReplyDeleteBecause the retention (48%) is pretty bad
ReplyDeleteNice. I'll never understand though how Goldbergs gets higher demo and even share while The Middke gets more viewers
ReplyDeleteLOL don't get your hopes too high. I don't think Arrow grew that much. The Flash only grew two tenths from the crossover yesterday.
ReplyDeleteI think it carries on some viewership it built from its first season and then people who watch The Middle regularly are up for The Goldbergs as a follow up, thus outrating The Middle
ReplyDeleteYep.
ReplyDeleteJust saying it is possible
ReplyDeleteThink they won't rush a 3rd show now! At least not until Arrow will enter season 5 or 6. With Supergirl coming next year the producers are pretty busy.
ReplyDeleteI remember a comment that Dinah was introduced as a Greek Mythology teacher so Wonder Woman could be introduced. Probably just a blind assumption,
Well we can only speculate. A 2.0 HH rating for Arrow usualy means a demo between 0.9-1.0. When it had a 2.1 it scored a 1.1 this season. So a 1.3 is quite possible with a 2.7 HH.
ReplyDeleteOr maybe because it picked up a lot viewers during the summer. It was repeating very well. But I agree, The Middle viewers got hooked and are probably watching.
ReplyDeleteI'm starting to wonder though: Middle is running past on my DVR for my first time ever. Wonder if it's going to 8:31 to try to win over Goldbergs fans and see that their compatible?
ReplyDeleteYep, I also think the summer repeats helped quite a lot
ReplyDeleteI want to slap Marc Berman in his pompous, passive aggressive face. "Could only muster"
ReplyDeleteIt mustered more than your mid-life crisis young girl fantasy, Jane.
Cause of the NBC specials. But it's not that big of a hit though.
ReplyDeleteBerman hates genre shows. Arrow should be listed as a winner every week since it has the highest HH on The CW behind only The Flash, but only it lists it as a winner when it is beyond obvious and there is no other choice around it.
ReplyDeleteIf he has a chance to take on a genre show, he will do it. He did it for a loooong time with SPN and now he merely ignores it. Now The 100 is up and he is pulling the retentionista flag (as if it mattered)
And last year Arrow got 1.2 with a 2.3 HH, now it has 2.7 HH..
ReplyDeleteReturning viewers from first season + people that watched repeats during summer and liked it + The Middle and Modern Family viewers = why The Goldbergs is where they are now, up +15 year to year.
ReplyDeleteHe just irks me. If he weren't passive aggressive, it wouldn't be so bad. Just state the facts and keep your snide rhetoric to yourself Berman.
ReplyDeleteRight? The worst part is what comes next, if The 100 gets renewed we'll have to wait for the "The 100 did not earn its renewal strip by scoring a X" next season. Ugh, I hate when he does that.
ReplyDeleteI might have to unbite my tongue (typing fingers) for that. I'm sure he's used to it. If you call yourself a professional, behave in a professional, unbiased manner. He's clearly just a fanboy and not a pro.
ReplyDeleteI'll be happy with these too.
ReplyDeleteI think the most embarrased I have been with him is when he wrote "Worthy of a larger audience" for Jane The Virgin. It's ok if he loves the show, but when he writes about the ratings he should be unbiased for all and not sugar coating one show that is underperforming while treating like shit one that is doing OK. The 100 may not be a huge hit, but it isn't a flop like Marc is trying to make it seem like
ReplyDeleteArrow fans have reason to be excited...nice Top 25 numbers...
ReplyDeleteExactly. How completely biased and hypocritical is that? State the facts. Give me the numbers. Do other sites do that? STV and TVBTN are the only sites I've been on for ratings.
ReplyDeleteWhat were they?
ReplyDeleteWhat are them?
ReplyDeleteWhat were they?
ReplyDeleteArrow will be around 1.2, maybe 1.3
ReplyDeleteThe 100 will get its typical 0.6.
1.6
ReplyDeleteThey'll be posted soon.
ReplyDeleteHoping for 1.4 in the finals!!!
ReplyDeleteCOME ON ARROWWWWW!!!
Top 25 Markets 18-49 Demo Ratings have been posted
ReplyDeleteWell fuck. The 100 got a 0.5 in top 25 markets.
ReplyDeleteIt still could grow to a 0.6 in the finals, but this is very soul crushing. It didn't really benefit from Arrow's boost :(
Ouch it looks Broadcast Nets took a hit
ReplyDeleteDamn for the 100 :/
ReplyDeleteI'm soul crushed right now. I'm crossing my fingers so that it is a 0.6 in the finals, but it is still sould crushing regardless. Should have beneffited from Arrow
ReplyDeleteI hope The Middle doesn't drop from those early 25 market ratings, it's not looking very good :S
ReplyDeletethats kinda embrassing for The 100
ReplyDeleteThe only way it won't be is that it airs an episode without Arrow and keeps delivering 0.5/0.6, but as of right it looks dreadful
ReplyDeleteAre the Top 25 and the A18-49 the same thing?
ReplyDeleteNo.
ReplyDeleteAnd what are they?
ReplyDeleteYay for the Arrow - those are fantastic numbers - but DAMN IT for the 100. Things definitely just got worse. If it can't benefit from the lead-in, if either of the midseason shows hit, the 100 is pretty dead. Hopefully it at least adjusts up.
ReplyDeleteNo, the top 25 refers to the top 25 markets while the 18-49 demos we have on the table includes all markets
ReplyDeleteIt really should have. I would think they shared a little more of the same audience.
ReplyDeleteYes and No. The Top 25 ratings are the 18 to 49 demos in the Top 25 Markets. Those get reported first. The 18 to 49 demos that get reported in the Fast Nationals are the numbers from the Top 56 markets. The Final ratings are the demos from ALL markets. Those don't come until late in the day.
ReplyDeleteCalled it yesterday-Arrow will get series high demo tonight!Yay!
ReplyDeleteThings aren't looking up for The 100.Even with that high lead-in,it performed the same!Such a shame!I don't get why more people aren't watching live?!?
The 100 is pretty much dead
ReplyDeleteApparently it's 1.4
ReplyDeleteYikes for The 100.
ReplyDeleteThose ratings seem pretty low for The Middle and Stalker, unless they do better overall, especially the first one (it is the most countryside show on TV, not surprised it isn't popular among urban people).
Lead in really don't matter specially on the CW.
ReplyDeleteWth? I thought The Middle was supposed to be a "winner"?
ReplyDelete2 weeks ago, Stalker got a 5.0 with HH's and it registered a 1.7 in the demo (1.3 with Top 25 Markets) .
ReplyDeleteOh, 1.4 in Top 25 markets. This week, it could even go up to 1.8 in the demo because there was no Chicago PD on last night.
The 100 will never benefit form a lead-in, it clearly has its own audience and doesn't fit with any other CW show. It showed that in season 1. I hope it keeps growing slowly though and earns a renewal, I really love the show.
ReplyDeleteI think it does at first for sampling, but as most shows goes on they usually settle on an audience. Sometimes what the show really needs is a better timeslot, like The Goldbers: The Middle is doing roughly the same numbers SHIELD did for most of its 1st season but The Goldbergs is growing on it because it is on the night and timeslot it is supposed to be, and with a perfect fit for the family lineup.
ReplyDeleteLead in should be considered to launch shows, but there's a point where the audience is established and it will most likely stay there.
I know, it's such a good show! The last two episodes have been the funniest of the season
ReplyDeleteSame here. I think it could be a great asset for The CW as I'm sure it could do 0.5s even on its own with repeats as lead in, like it did last summer. I just hope the network sees the value on that and keeps it on the air, may it be during fall, winter, spring, summer, whenever they want, but just keep it somewhere. It is never bad to have a steady player
ReplyDeleteIt does if the shows fit.
ReplyDeleteHowever, The 100, Reign and Supernatural are all wasting lead-ins for CW, the first one will be replaced, the second should go to fridays but CW is probably going to replace Jane because they can't throw a new show against Blacklist and Scandal, the third is a utility player but it could easily be on thursdays at 9 instead of Reign while CW launches something new out of The Flash, they won't see a show from them averaging mid 1s for a long time.
I should of rephrase that, but I mainly see that a big problem with CW. Yeah some may get sampled but just collapsing after.
ReplyDeleteExactly my thinking as well, its a nice steady show, the only issue is the cost.
ReplyDeleteMarc bases his winners on the household ratings first then he'll re-adjust the winners and losers when overnight demo numbers come in.
ReplyDeleteWhat is that for Middle, 1.8? If so they're moving it
ReplyDelete(It does if the shows fit.) On any other net yes, but with the CW I have seen shows that blend together in along the way some thing happens. Now I saw the premise of Izombie in I don't think it will last either. Maybe the Messenger has a better chance.
ReplyDeleteHell Yeah Arrow!!!
ReplyDeleteI know this has no place here but has revenge been promoted this week? Or last night even?the winter finale promo is a killer.
ReplyDeleteabout tonight: great for arrow and abc seems down :/
You really take revenge too seriously
ReplyDeleteYay Arrow... I hope the 100 gets a 0.6 at least.
ReplyDeleteI know :/
ReplyDeleteI didn't see any promos yet
ReplyDeleteThe 100 also got a 0.5 in the top 25 for the previous episode and the final rating was a 0.6.
ReplyDeleteI can't stop laughing at the people saying The 100 is dead when it's getting twice the demo Reign is getting and it's doing much better than Jane. Also The Originals is getting the same numbers and TVD will soon get those same numbers too.
:/ how often do you watch abc?
ReplyDeleteThe 100 is pretty much dead. Getting a 0.5 out of 1.6. You are in denial!
ReplyDeleteI think the final ratings were 0.5
ReplyDeleteWhy would they move it? They finally have got a comedy block and Wednesday that works.
ReplyDeleteNope, it didn't adjust down.
ReplyDeleteOh was that the week before?
ReplyDeleteAnother prove lead ind do nothing for CW becouse of specific genre and audience. Arrow benefiting from TF much more then SPN and T100 did not benefit from Arrow at all, it will get same numbers airing after Reign. Unless t100 build its own loyal audience nothing will help it. And all this "wasting time slots" nonsense - ugh
ReplyDeleteArrow 1.4
ReplyDeleteThe 100 0.6
Is there a way the admins of this site could just strip out the HH numbers and not post his erratic drivel commentary? That would be a welcome addition. Or is there some kind of issue with giving credit or plagiarizing his article if that was done? Curious about that. Because if not, I would just table his HH numbers and discard his rants.
ReplyDeletewoo is that a series high for arrow and steady 100 is a good sign
ReplyDeleteAh ok didn't realise good for the 100
ReplyDeleteFast National CW half hours
ReplyDeleteArrow 1.4/1.4
The 100 0.7/0.6
Looks like a harsh night for ABC comedies. Ouch.
Yes, series high for Arrow.
ReplyDeleteSeries high for Arrow (pending adjustments)!!!
ReplyDeleteMF-2.8
ReplyDeleteBlacklish-2.1
Holy series high for arrow!
ReplyDeleteReally wish The 100 adjust ups.
ReplyDeleteThe Middle 1.6
ReplyDeleteTG-1.7
So?VD is four years older. The 100 is far more exspensive than Reign,VD,TO.The 100 equalling TTP in HH is pretty bad as a 0.5 of out Arrows 1.6 in Top 25.The 100s only doing a tenth or two at most better than Jane which is cheaper, has critical acclaim and is not a genre show and Czw wants a couple non genre shows.TO is at least improving Mon night/it's timeslot and neither TTP or The 100 have done that,
ReplyDeleteIt might get adjusted up by one tenth even, just like The Flash yesterday.
ReplyDeletestalker 1.5
ReplyDeleteSeason lows for all ABC comedies. Yikes!
ReplyDeleteABC is really having an off week
ReplyDeleteFull Ratings have been added
ReplyDeleteSeries high for Arrow! 1.4! That's amazing :D
ReplyDeleteWish I could say the same for The 100, but I'll take the 0.6
My Thoughts exactly
ReplyDeleteOh no. ABC terrible all around! What happened? Middle almost tied series low and Goldbergs at S1 levels???
ReplyDeleteReally sub-par for ABC comedies.
ReplyDeleteSame here! I'll even take Arrow adjusting down if it means The 100 adjusts up (though it doesn't seem like it will happen)
ReplyDeletelol Supernatural wasting the lead-in. The show has been the most consistent show on the CW for almost 10 years. Short of putting Arrow in that spot no show on the network would be getting 0.9-1.0 in that slot. Vampire Diaries which was the network's darling has in the last two seasons slipped below Supernatural in rating.
ReplyDeleteAnd what an absolute joke to think it should be moved to Friday for some other show. Supernatural being moved to Friday is one of the main reasons why Ostroff was shown the door.
I disagree. They had their third best tuesday of the season (behind only DWTS finale and the opening tuesday) and monday shouldn't really be factored in too much since there was a special taking place.
ReplyDeleteI watch it like 2 or sometimes 3 times a week.
ReplyDeleteActually it's been a pretty low night all around
ReplyDeleteSeries high for Arrow, major yay!
ReplyDeleteKnew you'd be jumping in, lol
ReplyDeleteHope The 100 keeps the 0.6 :)
ReplyDeleteConsidering the half hours are 0.7/0.6 it is probable that it keeps it. I know an adjustment donwards could happen anyway, but it is usually unlikely when the halfhours trend upwards
ReplyDeleteFresh off the Boat
ReplyDeleteCongrats to Arrow on that fantastic 1.4. Well deserved for a fantastic episode. I'll take that 0.6 for The 100, but I wish it was higher and more people discovered what a truly well acted, well written and fantastic show The 100 is. Gods of T.V. hear me now (sacrifices 100 Bulls) and give us a 3rd season of The 100.
ReplyDeleteOuch modern family even though a 2.7 is still very good. I hope the 100 Fans are happy :(
ReplyDeleteNice one Arrow!
ReplyDeleteEven if it adjusts down by 1, it'll still match the series high so a good night for it :)
Unfortunately the 100 didn't get a bump :( hopefully it keeps the 0.6 but I'm starting to worry for it...
Series high for Arrow and 0.6 for The 100. I hope it's not adjusted down.. PARTY TIME... WoHooo
ReplyDeleteThanks
ReplyDeleteStalker once again proves it's no CSI. CBS gave up a consistent timeslot winner for a show that can barely beat Nashville (even without CPD on). Survivor is a great lead-in (works for CM and for CSI for years), so little room for excuses.
ReplyDeleteWow, Arrow! Well, just like CF/SVU/CPD, expect more cross-over episodes.
Why? a 0.6 is good for CW standards :)
ReplyDeleteAll we need is to see The 100 scoring a 0.6 on its own without an orginal of Arrow so that it is settle that it doesn't depend on Arrow to score such numbers. If so, I think the show has great chances of surviving.
ReplyDeleteLast season it survived off repeats scoring 0.6s, so I want to see that again; then the numbers will look much better
Also, I hope this propels the CW to do more crossover episodes. I really adored these two, so I hope we get more in the future.
ReplyDeleteYay Arrow!
ReplyDeleteOut of a 1.4, a 0.8/0.9 should have been the result it got.
ReplyDeleteWhile that 0.6 is good for The CW the retention is dreadful. I'm no retentionista, and I don't think The CW will give the boot to The 100, but considering its great lead in it should have done better
Same here! Loved the crossover and I'm really happy to see these amazing ratings!
ReplyDeleteAlso the 100 is not CBS so that foes not help politics wise
ReplyDeleteThough if it maintains the 0.6 in early spring I think it has a chance especially if new and old mid season shows fail
I doubt they would move it for Fresh of the boat. Why take the risk.
ReplyDeleteHmm okay so maybe you did not Catch a promo even though there was one~ i hope :D
ReplyDeleteHopefully it can keep at least 0.6 up to the mid season finale, and I know its optimisitc but hopefully more people start catching up during the hiatus and keeps 0.6-0.7 in the 2nd half :P
ReplyDeleteStalker half hours?
ReplyDeleteCW really achieved what they wanted with the crossover. Bothy shows did great.
ReplyDelete1.5/1.5
ReplyDeleteI am going to Binge watch many series during Winter break. I have not decided which ones though. Maybe i will Check out the 100 even though it is Science fiction isn't it. I also just watched "fall" from OUAT. It was amazing
ReplyDeleteRe: Arrow/100 Retention - keep in mind that this isn't live viewing - Same Day DVR included. We saw that in early run of GA/Scandal where the actual live viewing was far closer but when you added SD GA DVR the gap was bigger. The actual live retention is more relevant - but the gap here is pretty big.
ReplyDeletePredictions for PPL on NBC tonight?
ReplyDeleteI hear you man. If it can just sustain at this level it will be outperforming Jane and Reign and will deserve a spot on the schedule next season. My god this season of The 100 is just so good. Even a 0.5 out of an Arrow repeat would put it at least at upper bubble - leaning toward renewal level. I must go gather more Bulls for another sacrifice to the T.V. gods.
ReplyDeleteit will win the night but I think it will be far behind sound of music
ReplyDeleteIt would do similar numbers on monday night. CW needs to improve its overall strength.
ReplyDeleteOf course salty SPN fans would be the first to complain, it's fine it got a 0.9 out of a 1.6
Ahhhhhhhhh series high for Arrow!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThe Middle tied it's series low. I can assume maybe the Christmas in Rockefeller had an affect.
ReplyDeleteIsn't series low a 1.5?
ReplyDeleteI would expect based on this result to see another next season, if not again near the end of this of this season (filming/scheduling logistics permitting).
ReplyDeleteI expect we will see more. If the logistics of the filming schedule permit it wouldn't surprise me to see another toward the end of the back half of the season.
ReplyDeleteYh its science fiction but not in a star trek kind of way, more about survival on the ground more than anything else, there are loads of different factions (I couldn't think of a better word), like grounders, sky people, reapers, mountain men etc and none of them get along.
ReplyDeleteAnd ikr I loved 'Fall'! That renunion and the ending were perfect :)
2.4. Far away from Sounds of Music, but still respectable
ReplyDelete1.4 for Arrow!! This girl's dream did come true :)
ReplyDeleteHow do you know that TVD will do the same numbers ? TVD is in season 6 and The 100 is in season 2 , i am sorry but The 100 will never have the same success that TVD has even now TVD did better than The 100 ( 4 million lead in LOL ! and just a 0.6)
ReplyDeleteBased on the numbers on STV+ it's 1.6 which it got for Season 5 episode 21.
ReplyDeleteYep, that's where I was looking as well.
ReplyDeleteI believe the producers said they were eyeing another one for later this season
ReplyDeleteI think this is one of the few times where my optimism is proven right.
ReplyDeleteWith Arrow I knew the crossover could prop it up to series high, so I'm feeling pretty good about that :). If only my optimism for The 100 was just as accurate :/
Series high for Arrow, but given that it was a crossover it doesnt really matter. What will matter is if it can hold onto some of those viewers from the crossover and increase its ratings. No point in celebrating if next week that ratings fall back to a 0.9 is there?
ReplyDeleteSalty fans? Ok then. I with you'd get your precious
ReplyDeleteI think we'll see more of these crossovers and I imagine we'll also see the CW launching a third show in the future.
ReplyDeleteI don't think that's the series low. I think it's a 1.5 that it got on Thanksgiving Eve 2009.
ReplyDeleteWell, they already did a crossover for TVD and TO, I think.
ReplyDeleteIt will do okay even if it falls back to 0.9 next week. It will still be one of the CW's strongest shows so whatever. And there wouldn't have been The Flash without Arrow so Arrow eared this series high fair and square regardless of it being a crossover.
ReplyDeleteFantastic news! I really hope so, because based on the rating results, its a no brainer.
ReplyDeleteWow, The Flash crossover really bumped Arrow up, I was expecting a small increase, not 1.4!
ReplyDeleteI was hoping higher for Stalker :(
ReplyDeleteIt matters in the respect that CW/WB/DC will approve more crossovers. If Arrow would have gone and done it's usual 0.9-1.0 maybe CW and DC make it a once a year thing. Now that they got a series high out of it kicks open the door for more crossovers.
ReplyDeleteI noticed it skews older now than when it started. Series low viewers was S1, 5.95 million, yet it got a 2.1 demo. Seems that when it started many people in their late 40s were watched who have since aged out of the demo. Interesting

It wasn't really a crossover. Nina Dobrev just played a character on The Originals who looked the exact same as her Vampire Diaries character.
ReplyDeleteI'm half expecting the production team to make a proper crossover happen now though considering the numbers Arrow/Flash got.
While 43% retention isn't great by any means, I can't see the CW dropping The 100 at this point as it is pretty rock solid in the ratings and a good performer in comparison to other shows. I think the decision will come down to how well the mid season shows perform and if The 100 can outrun them ratings wise.
ReplyDeleteAlso how exspensive The 100 is in comparison to them will be a factor
ReplyDeleteWow. Modern Family down 9 tenths from last airing. This is embarresing for all four comedies
ReplyDeleteYou should check it out :) I think you will be pleasantly surprised at how good it is.
ReplyDeleteAt the moment though, there's no better show on the schedule to put after Flash than SPN. Nothing else would get those ratings. (Arrow would, but that's used to hold up it's own night) But when new shows premier, the Flash should at least be used to help a new show possibly maintain decent ratings. The new show would stand a better chance at ratings when airing after a hit rather than on it's own. I'm not saying the new show would consistently get .9's, but there would be a chance and SPN can get those ratings on any other weekday.
ReplyDeleteReign should go to Friday (unless Jane is? then I have no clue), but I'm not sure what should happen with the 100.
Oh, I see.
ReplyDeleteI think it's a good idea to try after the Flash (leads to good sampling), but you're right that the shows could very easily fail if it doesn't catch on with Flash fans. Like the whole thing with TVD and the many shows that could not hold up after it.
ReplyDelete1.4 Arrow! I'd love for it to keep at 1+ for the rest of the season.
ReplyDeleteNext week will give us better idea if it can.
Arrow did a 1.4! I think now i believe in God for the first time in my life... no, that is streaching it too much.
ReplyDeleteBut i would swim with some sharks if it adjust up to 1.5!
Woah modern family that's a horrifying drop what happened to ABC today
ReplyDeleteCW should pick up Constantine...then cancel everything else except for Flash and Arrow and then replace them with other DC comic shows (Firestorm--Atom ect) and then rename the WB network (which used to be UPN/WB) and call it DC NETWORK...
ReplyDeleteNo, actually. They had minor interactions with TVD and TO like TO's main characters making what were basically cameos in TVD's 100th episode and Tyler (a secondary character on TVD) crossing over to TO for a few episodes, but nothing big like the Arrow-Flash episodes.
ReplyDeleteI would be up for that jajajajaja i would love an Atom(Blue Beetle) and Stargirl show. And a Green Lantern one.
ReplyDeleteThey're devolving a third DC comic book show but Pedowitz has twice there's getting to be too much genre shows on CW and they'll move back to family programming
ReplyDeleteThe last 2 episodes got 0.6. Last season it was renewed with an average of 0.6
ReplyDeleteHOD and BATB both got renewed with lower ratings last season.
The 100 is my fav show but I wish you hadn't posted this. Now fans of the other shows you mentioned will hate on The 100, as you see in the replies.
ReplyDeleteYay for Arrow!!! 1.4 - nice job to all concerned!! Loved last nights episode!!! Pushing it to hope for a bump in the finals to 1.5??? As long as it doesn't go down I guess thats the most important thing!!!
ReplyDeleteI think the huge difference in demo between The Arrow and The 100 show that most Arrow fans don't watch The 100. If they did, with the Arrow/Flash lead in the ratings would have went up.
ReplyDelete
